Ordered the stuffed French toast. The cream cheese filling was more like a powered sugar frosting. Overly sweet and very gritty. Most of the filling was on top not inside. Daughter had a skillet, which she enjoyed.

It's a little pricey but I definitely am very happy that I found this hidden gem. The service is very friendly and attentive. The food was great. Wasn't easy to find since it's inside another building. Very happy we took the time to find it. If you are in Oconomowoc and want an tasty meal I strongly suggest stopping in.

This is one awesome restaurant. We were 4 people in our party and were served all our meals in 7 minutes! This in my eyes is a world record! The food was super tasty and well presented. The waitress was the coolest, super friendly and efficient. Definitely worth visiting.

I would rate as a 3.5, but Google only has full ratings, so I’m rounding down to 3. The service is great (speed and helpfulness). The food overall is a mixed bag. Some things were at the high end of normal expectations and some things were a little under. We came in on a Sunday morning. It was very busy, but we were seated right away. The restaurant is bustling with staff. Steaming plates of food come flying by with somewhat startling speed. The food was pretty mid overall. The coffee is quite bad. We were not too interested in getting a warm up. Also, some of the customary diner accoutrements were missing…jelly packets would need to be requested, syrup in a plastic cup…little things that aren’t a big deal, but they are a little distracting. The pancakes were good. Very typical of a family restaurant. They were average sized. The strawberry banana French toast was a little bit of a mess. It was a little soggy. The corned beef has is made in house. It was decently flavored, but not that meaty. There were strands of corned beef rather than chunks. The hash browns had some color, but we’re still very soft and not as flavorful as we would typically want. The breakfast panini was decent, but the bacon was rather low quality.

Was recommended by a friend, but overall just not good food. Our waitress was amazing and nice. The food is cold and tasteless. A single pancake was cold and not even cooked through, biscuits and gravy, the biscuits weren't cooked through. Overall will not be returning.

Amalia's is awesome! My family and I have been going here for 10+ years for Friday Fish Fry and breakfast. Service is always friendly and the food comes out quick.

Very friendly staff and quick service. My family enjoyed the lunch! The chicken and dumpling soup was tasty and homey. I also had the veal parm; the sauce was a bit too sweet for me and the garlic bread needed a bit more salt/garlic. Overall, it was a lovely experience and we look forward to returning soon!

Get in here before they change the current menu. I just had a really great Special called a "Twisted Spinach Omelet " Spinach and Feta cheese!! FANTASTIC. The dry cheese takes away the regular cheese oil on the plate. A very large Omelet with hash browns and toast. A full meal. If it is not a special ask for it. You will be happy.

I have been here four times and every single time, the food has been wonderful. I have to admit although they offer lunch and dinner, we had breakfast everytime. My husband loves the food as well. Portion sizes are great. Service has been amazing all but one of those times. I love the patitioned booths for privacy. My new favorite place for breakfast.

Amalia’s has great classic diner food - their breakfast is especially wonderful. Always know I can stop in for some good home cooking. The hash browns are always golden brown and crispy, and there’s always more than enough with their hearty portions, I always get to have leftovers for the next morning!

Had a good first time experience. Was a little confused why our side breakfast dishes came out before the main dish but everything tasted good. Staff was friendly and very quick to clean up and check up on the table.

Good food and service. Would have been 5 stars except they use the cheap, free-from-the-supplier silverware. Thin and sharp.

A truly remarkable food service team. Great teamwork, friendly, relaxed and FAST. Wait times for food is amazing! Breakfast routinely comes out in under 5 minutes and lunch orders are similar.

My friend and I met for breakfast. The dining area was empty of any customers, there were three men sitting at the counter just finishing their meal. Their menu is huge and they serve all items on the menu at anytime of the day. My friend ordered coffee a gyro breakfast burrito with an extra tzatziki sauce. I ordered two eggs over medium bacon and fruit and coffee. We waited for meals while we drank our coffee and the burrito came out, with one sauce… we reminded of asking for two sauces. Waited an additional 10 minutes for my breakfast. My breakfast was at best room temperature. The eggs were cooked well and I got 4 slices of bacon and slices of melon….still no tzatziki sauce so we asked again and were assured it was coming out soon.. our server was more than apologetic for the forgotten item. I don’t know if the kitchen was really not working on all cylinders or what but I am not in a hurry to go back anytime soon. I was hopeful that it was close to what I remembered when it was Mug N Muffin.

This will be the last time this place gets a dime from me. Sad to say we gave it another try after a year and a half of the last bad meal we had. Eggs Benedict came out super quick except it was not good! English muffin wasn’t toasted, hash browns were cold it was drowning in hollandaise sauce. Husband had country fried steak that was mushy and tasteless. Overpriced, bad breakfast. Sorry Amelia’s but we can’t keep coming back in hopes of it getting better when it’s getting worst. The only thing they was good was the excellent server!

Never, ever again will we come to this place. This place is a rip-off!!! The only good thing I will say is our server was very attentive so this review has nothing to do with her. We should have realized this place wasn’t going to be good when there was no wait for a table on a Saturday morning. Our bill was close to $63 (not including tip) for 2 adults and a 14 yr old. We could have gone to First Watch and gotten wayyyyyy better food and coffee! The coffee was $3.98 and it tasted like water! You can get better coffee at Starbucks for $3.00! Their soda was $2.98! The majority of their entrees were $12.98+ and had absolutely no flavor and the portion were small! I cannot believe this place is still open. Dennys serves better tasting food and at a cheaper price! We should have walked out when we saw the prices, but we thought the food would at least be good. It’s not! Terrible, terrible and over priced food!

We waited 5 minutes with a large crowd on Father’s Day thinking it would be a hassle to get a table, but suddenly the host came out and had tables for everyone! Great energy from the staff, we were offered coffee every 10 minutes, so your cup won’t go empty. Our breakfast was cooked well and we all enjoyed it. The staff appeared to all work together well under pressure on a busy morning.

This place was spendy horrible service and aweful food. Ordered corned beef hash and coffee. Brought coffee had to ask waitress for cream and sugar . Came back to table with husbands food. Still no cream and sugar. Had to ask a 2nd time. Brought the corned beef hash was nothing but hashbrowns with some dots of dried up corned beef. Tasted like tough chewy jerky. Wow. Cold toast. Butter wasn't melting on it, the dot that there was! Then had to ask for my jam. Then had to ask for salt and pepper. And uncomfortable booths ! Breakfast cost my husband and I 35.00??????? Where do these people get off charging those prices for their garbage? Shut it down!

Decent chicken tacos and excellent eggplant parmesan. Service was fun and spunky, our gal was great and hilarious! Prices have crept up in recent years, but still an enjoyable place for an easy bite.

I ordered the country breakfast and requested extra syrup because usually the pancakes need a lot more. I got the customary 2 for 2 pancakes which gets absorbed rather quickly and you end up with one full pancake that's dry. No butter placed in there whatsoever and then they're whatsoever and the rates were increased by $4 as of 3 years ago and I was told to clear my cookies to get the updated pricing. I was shocked at $14 for the breakfast that I got. They've really gone down hill

The staff are the kindest people I have ever met. Personally have had great experiences with Amalia and Sam. The food is great always, but especially when Manuel is cooking. My fiance and I have made it tradition to come almost every Tuesday!

Amalia's is local restaurant right in the heart of downtown Oconomowoc. It certainly isn't 'fancy' however, I can guarantee you won't find a better breakfast, lunch or dinner selection! The food is all fresh and tasty. Staff is very friendly and conscientious, ensuring guests are satisfied and well taken care of. I've never had a disappointing meal at Amelia's!

Love this place! Always great service! The food comes out quick and delicious! Also very reasonably priced 👍 Family owned and ran. This is ALWAYS our go to breakfast spot in the lake country area ♥️♥️

Highly NOT recommended. Stopped for breakfast today, and while we were seated quickly, that’s about where the positive experience ends. If I could give 0 stars, I would have. We had the most basic order: 2 Country Breakfast (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausage), Lumberjack (Belgium waffle, 2 eggs, 2 bacon), Biscuits and Gravy (asked for no eggs and a side of bacon), 2 coffees, 1 water, and 1 apple juice. Nothing was great, most not even mediocre. We sent back the biscuits and gravy because it honest to God smelled and tasted like peanut butter. No idea what that is about but the waitress tried assuring us there isn’t even peanut butter in the restaurant because of allergies. So bad!! She did swap it out for a short stack of French toast. Then we got our bill. $63…WTH! Nothing we had was worth that. We were shocked and will not be going back! I would advise you to skip it as well unless you don’t mind being nickel and dined with extra charges that you don’t know what they are, since you don’t get a real order receipt… just a generic register receipt with everything listed as “food”. Give a more honest deserving restaurant your money. You’ll likely get better food and service in return.
