I used to love this place, not anymore, and not recommend. Everything changed since a big woman came in. She act rudely and do not know the art of managing restaurants.Simply I ordered three German doner , but seconds later, even before I received the receipt, which means that the order was not prepared. I wanted to cancel the order for some personal reason, but the manager rudely refused.I am filing a complaint with the company. Also I have filed a complaint with Food Standards Agency. Because what the manager did is contrary to the standards of return policy in the United Kingdom and the German Doner Kebab company.

I had to throw away my food and order something else. Literally the worst doner Bromley GDK is great. This Croydon branch food is horrendous. Second time this has happened from this branch. I thought it was just the once but they’ve given me minced doner. Not strips. Very upsetting

Disgraceful food. Normal kebab size looks like a crepe, missing lettuce, chicken and tomato! Extre large kebab like a crepe too, missing chicken, sauce lettuce... Both has bread hard as rock too! Fries are cold looks like they been sitting for hours and sent to customers!!! (This place is not even 5mins walk from my place) Don’t bother at all! Delivery partners should even stop working with places like that! Money grab for dirty food Never again!!!

This place used to be so good but now it's an absolute awful place So I have order two boss box meals a box meal now while waiting for the food the girl who is dealing with customer and handing them food and putting in box has been given my box meal and the kebabs for my boss box meal on no less then 3 occasion she is calling the girl who is on fries asking for the fries and spring rolls for my order this must have taking a good 3 mins before she brought it. The girl then had to send it back cos the way she flung it down the chips fell out so another 2 mins before she brings the chips again cos she too busy chatting to her friend in the back. Now I asked for no tomato on both kebabs for only one to have no tomatoes so had to pick out the tomatoes paid to have extra meat in one they was both the same size I couldn't be bothered to go all the way back to the shop so just kept it The food was at best just about warm I live 2 mins from the shop and drove and got it myself so would have taking me no more then 5 mins to get home. I took a pic of the chips just because I can't believe a business can sell chips that look this bad to anyone The standards have dropped since they first open and they need to pick up again soon very disappointed

Absolutely disgusting restaurant, avoid at all costs, especially on Deliverio as a portion of the order arrived unsealed and unsigned. The pictures and descriptions do not match the food. I ordered the Doner Crunch Burger with added pickles and added cheese, along with a boss box. The boss box was not properly sealed from the restaurant, as a result we ended up not touching it. As for the Doner Crunch Burger, with extra cheese and pickles. It contained a whole three soggy doritos, no crunch, despite being delivered very quickly; and nobody in their right mind would consider there to be extra anything added to this bland roll. Overall an absolutely disgusting experience.

Avoid at all cost, Circa 2 hours to get some kebabs delivered through Deliveroo... Admittedly not their fault at first, as supposedly the driver picked them up and never delivered the food!!! Eventually they reprocessed the order and it got delivered, but the food was already cold when it arrived! The pictures show what the food is actually like... Do not rely on the professional photos on the Deliveroo site or the shops website. They are very deceiving!!! We orderer cheesy fries... These are not cheesy fries!!!!! They are normal fries with a small pot of nasty Natcho cheese sauce on the side!!! Not worth £1 extra! And as the pictures show, there was hardly any salad tomato etc... Kebabs done right shouldn't be their slogan because none of the whole experience was done right. The kebabs weren't particularly tasty either.

Absolutely disgusting service provided by the abhorrent lady in the picture. Ordered a mix doner wrap and I’ve 50% lamb 45% salad & 5% chicken tiny pieces. Upon complaining the lady couldn’t care less and told me there’s chicken means there’s chicken regarding whether it was proportionate size or not.

Why is big lady still working there? If you ain't got a problem, she'll make one for you. Her rude attitude and lack of care for customer health were appalling. This "manager" makes the atmosphere in the kitchen and at the tills very awkward and disturbing, every single time I go in to eat. She always has a bad day and takes it out on everyone...must be a nightmare to work with.. SOOO many complaints and no one cares about it...at this point you're just promoting and rewarding her for being bad..

GDK in Croydon is simply awful. they save a lot, and put even less and less each time. It seems to me that a half-empty box is not the OK. in other areas there are no complaints, it is very tasty and the filling is normal. but I don't recommend this one in Croydon, you pay the same price as everywhere else, and you get half of what it should be. and also on a permanent basis forget to put sauces, which are paid for.

It used to be good, it used to follow the slogan "Kebabs. Done Right". This is not the case anymore, the taste is still good, but with time the fries have become stale and more stale, and the portions have reduced more and more. It's becoming kind of a joke right, I wanted to see how much could they reduce the portion without changing the package and the answer is "substantially". If you order a Doner Box Fries and Chese with extra chicken (for £10.50) you will be met with the box in the pictures of this comment, if it wasn't clear, the box is filled up to the "finger level".

Have a look at what I thought I was ordering and then at what was delivered to me instead. The funny part is that I asked for EXTRA salad and I got LESS salad than the normal amount. And the bread??? Really?? When I called they told me my bread was not incorrect - have a look at the images below and tell me if thats still true. This is literally the turkish bread you get from TFC, don’t try and fool me. I couldn’t get a refund from UBER EATS which made me livid and so will never order from yourselves or Uber eats again.

There was a staff member who seemed to be some sort of manager with glasses, who was being so rude to her staff and telling them off infront of customers. The front of house staff themselves where absolutely amazing and offered me a great service. That manager however should not have been speaking to staff the way she was especially infront of customers? She made the atmosphere in the kitchen and the at the tills very awkward and disturbing.

The Quesadillas are good but the Doner Kebabs are very poor. Doner meat was very dry and overly stuffed, especially at the top. At least twice ordering from Deliveroo has the food arrived cold as well. Staff attitude in the restaurant is mixed but I’ve had some pretty rude service in there on more than one occasion.

A little after 10 p.m. I came with my boyfriend to eat something but from the entrance we were greeted with the fact that they close after 50 minutes and we can't eat inside. I was shocked and wondering what it was . I understand that everyone wants to go home early but the restaurant closes at 11pm so that mind people till 11 can stay inside and eat ! the food was good but my order didn't come complete the employees were in such a hurry to close that they forgot to give me the fries I paid for! And when I was leaving, I heard the lady who make food come to the two guys and told them to leave The problem was that it wasn't 11 and she has not right to do that. I hope someone gonna change something inside because this really not nice what stuff do when boss its not there

Doner that doesn't leave you feeling greasy and sick afterwards. We tried the classic doner kebab as well as a mixed meat and chips box. The meat doner is beef, it is very juicy and succulent, but the winner for us was the chicken doner as it was a lot tastier and tender by comparison whilst also being just as juicy and succulent. This place is also certified Halal. The only critical point is that this is best eaten hot (i.e. straight away) so if getting it delivered, you'd be best to warm it up, just remember to sprinkle some cold water on top so it doesn't go hard in the microwave! All in all very delicious, not a bad price and quite takeaway friendly as the packaging allows you to eat it taken away without making a mess! Finally, the place is run by absolutely brilliant staff, who are really efficient and proficient in their work. Top marks!

Always makes me feel great. Amazing taste and the layering between meat and veggies with sauce is probably best in town. Defo recommended and will go again and again.

I've been a long time customer of this restaurant at one point I would come every week. The service has been degrading as time progresses. Before you could pay at the till now employees are lazy and you have to use the machines to order. They used to bring the food to the table now they can't even bother to bring it to the table. I won't be coming to this place anymore. There a lot of places that will make me feel welcomed while here you aren't cherished. Portions are smaller. If you get it delivered expect a smaller portion. Keep in mind that at some point they were giving free chips for a 5 star review.

We kindly asked the manager - Sandra I believe although the receipt shows user Robyn to add some meat to the box as we had ordered extra mix and the box was half empty. Her response was very rude and she told us that the box was more than the amount usually given. I told her that I had been in many GDK including this one and the box had always had more bearing in mind the price also. She didn’t want to listen and just kept speaking over us even when I reminded her that she had been there the last time we visited and it was indeed her who told staff RUDELY to add more meat without any request. She didn’t want to answer that question. Based on all of the other comments I have read is this a person who is doing your business any good ? I doubt it- please don’t loose your money going there!

We order twice a month from this place. The only thing that’s disappointing is the amount of Oil in the food, especially jalapeño poppers, one popper = 1 tissue full of oil, check the picture.

Been to other GDKs before, so can safely say they underfilled the box, although I didn't even get to eat it because I watched the worker grab my chips using his hands and throwing them in with a rude attitude. I work for the NHS and it appears that me using the blue light discount they offer annoyed him. Absolutely disgusting. When I complained about this since I watched the entire process happen I was told they don't know anything and refused to look at the CCTV which would show the gross attitude. Shame because the worker at the till was actually friendly, but will never return as they were willing to potentially give me food poisoning by handling my food with his bare hands, all apparently because I work for the NHS. Would avoid at all costs.

I’ve never seen rude worker peoples like this restaurant has, it’s totally disgusting and rude…I’m a delivery driver they’ve been very rude for consecutive time I could say always and today I was waiting an order to pick, I almost waited like 10 min and the order was ready and then when I asked her (short unkind girl) she refused and she said “YOU ARE NOT IMPORTANT “ That’s very DISRESPECTFUL and RUDE I’m working my job but when the communication becomes like this that’s MAD as well SAD for the restaurant! The 2 girls don’t deserved to be there or teach them how to communicate mostly the 1 very short girl. That’s MAD

we ordered kebabs. upon delivery, one kebab was missing, the sauces were supposed to be mild but were spicy. after calling the service and waiting for an hour, they hung up and after dialing a second time, they rejected the call immediately. the manager was very unpleasant.

Food is tasty, service is decent, daytime manager is good, polite and very helpful. Only real downside is it's a little small to eat inside. They have one big AC unit which pretty much covers the eating area, so it can get a little too cold. Wash room is clean and very warm 😁

The food is excellent, the staff are friendly and the food is prepared and served in front of you.

Stopped by Croydon for the first time and found German Doner Kebab as a Google recommendation. The food was lovely and the portion larger than I anticipated. I had the German Doner kebab meal. Walked in just needing a quick bite to appease my hunger and left with a happy and very full tummy Overall the experience was so much better with the staff energy and friendliness. Jeunice is particular who is constantly smiling as she served customers and cleared up. I genuinely hope she gets the recognition she receives for her excellent customer service! Jeunice if you read this, a warm thank you! Your energy reminded me of my home country of South Africa 🇿🇦

I love the look of the shop. it grabs my attention every time. the prices are good for the food you get and I'd most likely come back for more.

Nice food but person serving was rude and refused to give me sauce then pretty much chucked the takeaway bag at me. Croydon branch need to do some serious customer service training cos putting people with bad attitudes behind the counter is gonna make customers not return.

I loved the food here the meat was cooked right and the preparation for it was fast the staff are also very welcoming and helpful

The food is top notch and the service staff too! In particular, I had missed my wedding ring without realizing it. I went home and realized I had lost her. After a few hours I decided to try to look for her there and luckily they had found her and returned her to me. Thank you good people!!

Had a fantastic experience in here with my daughter. The food comes rapidly and the service is just fantastic. Prices are reasonable.

I just had to do this review. I am again disgusted with my kebab lunch box I bought. I asked for a mixed meat box no chips. On arrival to my office and opening my box it was as if there was no vegetables inside. There was hardly any chicken, the salad was few hardly any lettuce and the portion was very small. They have increased the price and yet the portion was small. This is not the first time they would be doing this. I have been given the wrong order before and when I rang in they said they would sort me out the next time but I just always believe things would improve. Your kitchen staff need to get their acts together and Dona good job. You can’t continue to upset your customers with poor services.

Ordered through Uber as my oven has broken! Food was stone cold- not even slightly warm! Chips and bread were wet and soggy. Total waste of over £20. I ate a little of the cold meat but didn’t enjoy it. Totally gutted as a friend had recommended them to me saying it was the best kebab she’d ever had.

Nice kebab, but boxes are hardly half full. I thought have to be full. How they decide the portions? Nothing measured..? And for the price you pay you are still hungry....

This place does not disappoint. Great food at very good prices even when compared to the bog standard kebab shop. Service was friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend the food to anyone who hasn't given it a try yet. You should without a doubt get the spring rolls, they're delicious 😋

Wishing I had German Doner for lunch today. I think this place is awesome, the only discrepancy I have is the number of fries compared to the amount of meat given. HINT, HINT because y'all act as if you do not care. Consider yourself lucky if you get twenty fries at the bottom of the box. I am more of a carbs gal but if you're a carnivore, you'd have no problem. I asked for more fries and was advised I could get free fries if I gave a review - that was a while ago now. I also prefer my meat cooked a little more, which is impossible as the online orders roll in and staff are continuously shaving the meat. I stick mine in the oven when I get home to avoid the sh... its nicer that way! P.S - I read the review below and I know the miserable git being referred to. At least smile lady!!

This place has gone downhill really quick. I didn’t want to leave a bad review from last time to give a chance but I regret as I ordered again today and found staff to be extremely rude and got OG kebab in a very different manner - meat (very little) and bread (cold) separate to salad. I guess because of Tuesday offer the quality and quantity has been brought down drastically. Best to avoid GDK until they sort out the issues. Staff in the counter absolute rude and she behaved like she is doing a favour by serving customers

Wow! German Doner Kebab in Croydon left me speechless. The moment I took a bite, pure joy washed over me. The flavors were out of this world! Tender meat, fresh veggies, and the sauces...oh, the sauces! It was a taste explosion that made my taste buds dance with happiness. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. German Doner Kebab, you've stolen my heart. I'll be back for more!

I used to love this place. Not anymore. Big lady behind the bar was rude when I complained about the size of the kebab served (it was tiny!). See pics - the usual size vs the skinny one. When I asked why the size has changed, the big lady said that “looks like you were getting wrong size in the past”. Well then, lots of other options available locally.
