I have a private insurance. The doctor I booked for consult was really professional and arranged me an MRI quite quickly. The consultation and treatment part were excellent! But the payment has problem. Before I left the hospital I ask the receptionist how is the payment process work. She told me I am under private insurance so I didn't need to worry about it they will contact the insurance company and claim it from them. Apparently they did not. After a couple months I received a letter saying i have this outstanding balance and if I am not paying this within 7 days they will take legal action. I'm like what? I contacted my insurance company and they said the hospital never give them the consultant's clinic letter which they required for claiming. So I tried calling this hospital. 3 TIMES A DAY FOR 3 or 4 DAYS. No one pick up the call and it hung up on me everything single time. I sent them an email and they never reply. I'm currently out of town so i wouldn't be able to go to the hospital or I would definitely. They didn't even give me a call before sending me the warning letter. I was really frustrated because it is wasting my time and I can't find anyone to take care of this.

I read all the reviews here. A lot of their reviews are coming here from staff and surgeons that work in this hospital so wouldn't choose this hospital based on faked reviews. Even with their insider's reviews they still don't manage to get even 4 stars so that would say enough about this hospital. Spire Harpenden is much better.

Very disappointed with Hatfield One , they were happy to take our appointment for first consult , then second time refused to remove stitches from my wife’s face on some half baked excuse that because the stitches were put in somewhere else ( France ) they couldn’t do this simple job . Pathetic, hopeless and heartless. ( nz travellers looking for help )

Excellent supporting role to the NHS. If you have the money and need to que jump then this could be the place for you. I needed an ECG doing quickly for an operation a London hospital & the operation was in danger of being cancelled due to no ECG & Lister said it was not urgent so possibly a six month wait! I decided to get it done privately & pay for it & take the report to the London hospital. Brilliant service got it done next day, not that costly, about £200 and the operation went ahead. Interestingly, I never did hear or get the appointment from the Lister Hospital!!! Just as well that I wasn't relying on them for that appointment because like most things they seem to mess them up. That is why I was going to a London hospital, to have corrective surgery to put right what the surgeon at Lister had totally messed up! Like everything, despite a bag full of complaints a letter of apology, the surgeon being reprimanded, he carries on seeing patients without a care in the world! Go private if you can afford it, you then have a choice of who treats you. This hospital was excellent and can be highly recommended.

Reception staff very professional and nice. Hospital itself is sleek and modern with a nice waiting area and facilities. However the physiotherapy here is terrible. Physiotherapist just kept trying to recreate my symptoms and didn't actually provide any treatment after 4 sessions. Each session was just making me feel worse. To the point I was just dreading going there. They clearly didn't know what to do and had given up. They also billed me for a full session even though for the last session I was only in the room for 10 minutes. I was supposed to have 6 sessions but decided to go elsewhere and found a much better physiotherapist. Going to this hospital has been a complete waste of time. I only went there initially as it was by my house and so could walk to it but I would not recommend their physiotherapy.

The customer service here is poor, for example wait times to change an appointment or emails. Not answering phones for 40-50mins is just too long. Several days for emails. The actual hospital is quite small and fine for seeing consultants, but I wouldn’t have anything bigger done here.

I was admitted to this hospital on Friday for an abdominoplasty operation with Dr Carver. The experience from beginning to end was perfect. Dr Carver made me feel at ease and did a wonderful job. The staff at One Hatfield were attentive, professional, kind and helpful. I was discharged on the Sunday so spent a few days here. If you have arranged to use this hospital for your future treatment, then sit back and relax knowing you will receive great care. From my brilliant surgeon to the recovery room staff to ward staff to the lovely man that brought my tasty meals. Thank you.

After having my hip replaced which was made a nice experience by all the staff involved with their caring attitudes, I have had follow up physiotherapy which has helped keep me on track to a very quick recovery. (Back at work after 6 weeks)This is a very nice hospital and I am due back for the other hip soon which I am looking forward to getting done ,I can’t thank the surgeon and his team and all nurses and physio staff enough, I now have no pain from that hip and is changing my life for the better. Thank you!

I am very pleased with the service provided by the hospital. The staff is helpful and kind and they help you with a kind smile which makes you comfortable it shows that you are in a good hands. The surgeon is professional with extensive knowledge in his field that made my spinal surgery successful and it felt like walking in the park. Highly recommended!

Needed a GP appointment as impossible to get one with my NHS GP, so took matters into my own hands and made an appointment here. Had an appointment within 2 days with a friendly GP and came away feeling satisfied . Not cheap but not unexpected ,and fortunately only needed the one visit.Would consider using again if needed.

V efficient. Good facilities. Easy and quick. Just would have been good to be able to have a copy of the MRI to show to physio and Osteo for recommended follow up treatment. Also to compare with any later MRI.

Appointment times were amazing and I was able to get an appointment within 1 week to see a ENT consultant for my son. However, no investigation took place and only general information given, which we had previously received from the NHS GP. So unfortunately, no clearer on his symptoms.

What an amazing place. Everyone is welcoming and helpful. Checked in, sat in comfortable seating, had my appointment at the right time and was listened to and helped. Walked out thinking that it was the first time I actually felt like I had achieved something. Thank you so much.

Easy to find and park. Comfortable reception. However the consultant I saw did not send me a follow up letter. This is poor practise and should have been followed up by the hospital but in fact they simply passed the request onto the consultant. I still haven’t had a letter.

My treatment should have been for a day care, but I was kept in overnight for observation. I was very impressed with my Consultant, all the nurses & staff were excellent in their care of me. A special mention for the Night Nurse and the kitchen staff, the food was great.

Good timekeeping, welcoming reception staff, friendly physiotherapist who listened and responded, did not forget detail between visits. Practical, discussed treatment, did not over elaborate. A calm and easy experience.

Amazing hospital. First class service and great staff. Had an operation here in November 2022 and the staff were really friendly and put me at ease while explaining everything. Mr Frosch and Mr Mochloulis were fantastic, thank you!

This is a first class hospital. I cannot fault it at all, it’s modern, clean and comfortable. Most of all the staff are what make it the incredible place that it is. They are so attentive and caring and go above and beyond their roles as individuals. Every staff member that helped me along my journey was honestly amazing and I will forever be grateful for the care I received whilst there. Thank you to you all for your hard work and dedication - it is much appreciated.

Imaging….not the best experience and not up to the standard of Oryon. At Oryon you are given a copy of your scan on disc as you leave the appointment AND you receive an electronic copy via email the following day. At One Hatfield, no electronic copy is available for the paying patient and if you wish to have a disc copy, it is necessary to make a return trip a few days later (seems they are unable to post the disc). While Oryon necessities a trip into London, their lower prices and a better standard of service makes the trip worthwhile.

I cannot speak highly enough of Mr Misra and his wonderful PA Jane, my 92 year old mother recently had a procedure for a skin lesion and the treatment was exceptional. The aftercare went above and beyond. Highly recommended, not enough stars to say thank you.

I was admitted for surgery in 3/2/23 under the care of Mr George Mochloulis. From admission to discharge I was treated with great care and consideration. Mr Mochloulis was informative, patient, friendly, considerate, reassuring and professional. I felt confident to be in his care. I would highly recommend Mr Mochloulis as he only has his patients interest at heart. A truly great surgeon with a great team too! Dr Sunil Grover, the anaesthetist, was terrific. He treated my fears and anxiety sensitively and addressed all my concerns. He was informative and extremely reassuring. I immediately felt at ease knowing he was the anaesthetist caring for me during surgery. What a caring and really lovely man. My stay and medical care at One Hatfield Hospital was A class. I walked away very impressed with the overall experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. C Constantinou

How can you say wonderful experience when you have just had a partial knee replacement surgery. Was in trepidation but the great result is the story in itself. Physician, theatre team and the ward exceeded my expectations and kicking off physio was excellent. Home after two days and feel very pleased. I am recommending this as a great private hospital - no more Spire
