Good facilities, people there are lovely. Shame about the screaming kids in a nearby garden on henley road that disrupt that games and make it very annoying to be in that area

A fantastic club for sports, with great tennis and squash courts, and more padel courts coming soon hopefully. A members club at its core, with a fantastic history, and a legacy of hosting thousands of players over the years, from enthusiastic beginners to the world’s finest. I feel really lucky to be a part of the club and the community that it creates. This isn’t a soul less gym chain, it’s a bit rough round the edges in places, but look beyond that, it has everything you need. With a couple of games a week, and studio sessions with brilliant instructors, my family get great value from our membership and we would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Compact but extensive Sports centre in a nice leafy suburb of Ipswich, offers 10 tennis courts (3 acrylic indoor, 3 hard courts in bubble, 3 outside astroturf and 1 outdoor hard) - plus an outdoor Padel court. 7 Squash/Racquetball courts and a gym but I didn't use those. Hockey pitches but don't know anything about that aspect. On the whole, the place looks a wee bit desolate and dilapidated, both inside and out, and needs a thorough rebuild/refurb (hopefully forthcoming soon with proceeds from selling off adjacent land). The Padel court is a nice new touch - I wonder if they might sacrifice another tennis court for expansion of this new (to most Brits at least) sport. Apparently there are new lights in the indoor tennis centre (which feels like a cold warehouse in the winter) but as far as I'm concerned, they're not fit for purpose. For a fast surface, you really need to see where the ball is to judge the bounce but it's a struggle - though I guess you'd get used to it over time. The tennis bubble is brighter when the sun is out but that brings its own issues (with heat and glare, as it's only a single thin skin). Once again, once the sun goes down, the place is barely lit at all. Not great when trying to see fine line calls 😕 The hard courts in there are slower and easier for less experienced players. Didn't try the astroturf courts. Food and drink isn't cheap, and costs more for non-members (tiny cup of coffee is £3.50) and the social space is cramped and doesn't come across as particularly welcoming. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Changing rooms and toilets are very basic but clean. Free Wi-fi. Access from main road is a bit hairy, only one single lane entrance as far as I can tell. Didn't experience any problems personally but could see how it could cause a whole heap of traffic problems in busy periods.

The best sports club in Ipswich by far. A range of sports are catered for, including Squash, Tennis, Hockey, Gym and Studio. Excellent facilities. Welcoming atmosphere. An all-round great club.

We had 35 people attend a 70th birthday celebration. We had a two course sit down meal and the food was excellent as was the service. We found them very helpful in assisting us to make the arrangements. Would definitely recommend the Ipswich Sports Club for similar functions

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with 37 guests Sunday 2nd Dec 2018. Absolutely excellent, from the organisation of the event to the food and service on the day. Thoroughly recommended. Our guests all commented on the great food and the enjoyable time they had. Thanks to all the staff.

We chose this venue for our 70th Birthday celebrations after visiting for lunch on a previous occasion. We were absolutely consumed by everything the club had to offer and decided to speak to Cheryl, the manageress. We listed all of our expectations and were amazed that Cheryl could meet all of our requirements. There were about 150 guests with 30 children. A children's entertainer was hired, Fran and the summer Marquee was set up for the children's entertainment and a large bouncy castle was sited next to the Marquee. For the adults various outside games plus the use of tennis courts. The bar was well manned and a huge success. The seating area inside the building was very comfortable and well equipped for our 150 guests, just right for everybody to chat.The dance floor was just the right size and the music provided by Leigh was fantastic. We asked Cheryl for a buffet barbecue style menu and we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely amazing and I cannot think of words to compliment what was produced to the highest possible standard. The manner in which the food was presented and served was also of the highest standard and we cannot thank all of the staff enough for what they achieved. Thank you Thank you Thank you. Our recommendations to use this venue for a party are absolute and without reservation. We are so pleased that we chose Ipswich Sports Club as our 70th celebrations as it was important to us for everybody to have a fantastic time. We did and we are sure that you will as well. It's a very good sports centre but will not allow none members only if you pay £53 this is for the bar and meals only and one guest one time per month

Best racket and sports facility about catering to all levels. Bar and food facilities are great too.

My daughter played under 11 girls' singles grade 3 Christmas Tennis tournament here. The Dome courts are rubbish. It was raining & the courts were wet & slippery. Food was expensive compared to the other clubs I visited. Didn't use many other facilities. Rating is based on my one day experience. I won't like to visit there again.

Excellent facility for tennis, especially for kids. Coaches are top quality and draw talent in from all around. Lovely outdoor setting by the courts to enjoy a coffee in the sunshine too.

The entrance to this place has nearly caused me an accident too many times over the years but today finally drove me to leave a review. Today I had a grey Audi in front of me enter and then decided to reverse BACK onto Henley road to give way to a car leaving and causing traffic to abruptly halt somehow without colliding. The drivers lack of common sense is not your fault but the entrance being the way it is and almost causing so many mishaps from cars entering and leaving cannot be ignored forever.

Great to see ISC investing in new sports to compliment a great facility. Padel will be my new summer go-to sport!

Because of the mix up over food, my son has coeliacs disease and became ill after eating food, also not told what other food was gluten free either so he missed out on other food too

We always have a good time there. Pity the organisation failed and we could no play table tennis as planned.
