😠 While I can't fault the staff, the prices and suggestions are ludicrous. I was quoted £610 for all new pads and brake discs.     While I can't fault the staff, the prices and suggestions are ludicrous. I was quoted £610 for all new pads and brake discs.     I have always come here for my MOT's because it's the closest garage to me. The quality of work is good but their time keeping and organisation skills are questionable at best. Normally I shop around for any repairs instead of coming here because they can be unreasonable expensive at times. A few days ago, I had my window screen washer pump replaced by them. When I made the booking, they were adamant that it was a blown fuse despite me telling them I had already checked. I brought the car around to them at 8am like they asked. I called at 2:30pm to find out if the pump had been replaced yet, only to be told that the car had only just gone up on the ramps. If it was going to be left to until the afternoon, why didn't they just tell me to bring it by at lunch? I had to chase them up at 5pm to see if I could pick up my car, they told it was just finished with and they were about to call me. I decided to check my dash cam footage, the work took them half an hour. Why lie? Why keep my car longer than needed? From this point on, I think I'll only use them if I have to.

    Extremely Disappointing Service I recently took my car to Halfords Autocentre in Acocks Green for what was supposed to be a routine service. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share it with others. On Monday, October 30th, I dropped off my car at 8:30 am for a routine service. My car was in perfect condition, and I was simply trying to be a responsible owner. I left my keys with the manager and headed home, expecting a smooth service. However, at around 11:30 am, I received a call from someone at the garage, stating that they couldn't perform a full service because my car was "unsafe" to work on. I was baffled, as I had mentioned there was nothing wrong with my car when I booked the service. When I returned to the garage to pick up my car, the manager informed me that they couldn't perform the service and had initiated a full refund. That's when my troubles began. After starting my car, I noticed a significant issue with the clutch – it was soft, and I couldn't engage the 1st gear. The manager claimed they hadn't touched my car and hadn't performed a test drive. This was a blatant lie because I found my car in a different parking spot, indicating they had attempted to drive it. I even asked to speak with the technician, and after some delay and suspicious discussions, they both denied responsibility. I lodged a complaint, but the response has been painfully slow. I rely on my car for work and university, and the inconvenience has been immense. Despite my complaints, Halfords Autocentre hasn't taken responsibility for breaking my clutch and claims to be "investigating" the matter. The way they've handled this situation has been unprofessional and frustrating. I expected top-notch customer service, but all I've received is a runaround. I'm forced to spend on expensive taxis to get to work, and the lack of communication and slow resolution of the issue is deeply disappointing. I hope that sharing this experience will help others make an informed decision about using Halfords Autocentre in Acocks Green. My trust in their service has been severely shattered, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone in the future.

    All booked and paid for a half 8 drop off. Drove across Birmingham through rush hour to drop off to get told it's been canceled and they were going to phone in 5 mins to let me know. Then get told be another week before I get booked it.

    Absolutely disgusted with the customer. Took my car in for an MOT and it failed due to two front tyres So they ordered new tyres and re booked it for 22/06/2022 i dropped off my car off and left it for the whole day. Later on that day at approximately 17.00 i got a phone from the member of staff saying they cannot find wheel lock so i went to pick up my car and i also couldn't find the lock myself where it supposed be. However i had to go and purchase a new lock from BMW main dealer and it cost me £54 so i dropped my car off again today which the date is 23/06/2022 at time approximately 12pm so they can carry out the work to replace the tyres. However i went to pick it up later this day at 17.30 and i was told wrong tyres were ordered. I was very disappointed.the member of staff has told me that i myself ordered the tyres online. which is not true. I told the staff i didn't ordered it online it was ordered by member of the staff at the branch on 18/06/2022 after the car failed the Mot and the staff confirmed it was a run flat tyres. The staff was so rude to me and said "why would we order wrong tyres for" you ordered it yourself. I replied saying i didn't ordered it it was a member of staff here ordered it on my behalf. He replied back saying "don't argue with me I'm not up for it i had a long day. What do you want to do now. Do want to order the correct ones and bring your car back again tomorrow or leave it. I replied saying just leave it I'll take my car to the main dealer. One of another member of the staff who drove my car out of the ramp got out of my car and threw the keys at me. His description was a stocky asian male. The description of the member of staff who i was talking to were white male shaved head with scars on his head. As they finished with my they didn't put the wheel lock back where it was when i bought it in and the compartment where the wheel lock goes in was left open. With the attitude of your member of staffs i have a feeling they may have done something with my original wheel lock as every car should have a wheel lock in the compartment when manufactured. The only other time i had my tyres changed by BMW main dealers which they do not use the lock from customers car. I bring my car in for MOT every year at this halfords branch but now what i experienced i am absolutely disgusting with service i received, the rude attitude from your staff and the time they have wasted. I will not return to halfords in the future thank you

    Absolutely awful. Went one week for tracking and they needed 5 hours. Rearranged on the promise car would be done in 1 hr. They ended up saying no leave car and will take all day. Cancelled booking. Total waste of time and totally unorganised.

    Turned up today at 8.50 for my MOT (20 mins late for appointment) which is entirely my fault. Was told they wouldnt do it. I was advised that maybe another customer MAY cancel so I decided to leave my car there all day on the hope. When I left there were no other customers or vehicles and the staff were hanging around waiting, I did think you could just get on with it. Got a phone call in the afternoon saying they hadnt managed to do it so to collect my car. In the morning and in the afternoon I was repeatedly offered a date later than my MOT expiry which he didnt seem to grasp was no good. I turned up at 4.15 (45 mins before closing) to find the place all locked up, no customers and the staff hanging around chatting. Again it made me think you could of just done it now in the last hour. I understand that I was late but I witnessed them twice with gaps in their schedule where they were doing nothing. The first gap I created yes but I didnt cause the lack of activity at the end of the day. I guess most people would take advantage of this as they did. If it was a private garage Im sure it would have been done even with a bit of grumbling but this was always going to happen with paid employees who have no interest in customer satisfaction as long as they have an easy day. Im now booked in elsewhere where I wont be late and give them the excuse not to do it.

    Very friendly, helpful staff. I would definitely recommend the garage to other people. I would have awarded 5 stars however due to Halfords computer systems going down my appointment was wiped off the system. Damian on reception did his best to rectify this and sorted it out for me but unfortunately it meant I had an extra 1h 40 minutes to wait.

    I came into the centre because I had an oil light flashing in my car. Damian was great. He got the car topped up with oil, and even topped up my screen wash at the same time. I would definitely use this Halfords branch again.

    Some dodgy business practices happen at this centre. I over heard the receptionist saying to the mechanic to fail the test and he will handle the customer. I got my car full serviced and they didn't even clear the warning lights from the dash, because the mechanic didn't know how to do it. He was watching YouTube video as I waited outside for my car, looking at the mechanic. I wanted just the servicing which should have coated me £209.99 but the receptionist said oh we do clean the fuel tank and engine, which will cost £30 extra... I asked how do you clean it.. "oh we had the fuel treatment thingy" the receptionist replied.. 😂 Not going back to this dodgy place. I was better off at my local garage which charged me reasonable and had proper car computer to clear the service warnings. Avoid these scammers

    I booked my car for a tyre change online the day before, online it said to arrive at 9am the next day, when arrived the store Manager (Kay) said the tyre would need to be delivered from another centre/depot, which can take a few hours. It did not say online that the tyre is not in stock at this branch, so arrived and had to wait until 12pm for the tyre to be delivered & fitted. The store manager (Kay) was excellent and dealt with the query well, which was out of his control. But the online booking system needs to clearly state the time allocated is for DROP OFF only, not the time its booked in for the work. The halfords autocentre's in general are massively under staffed, so the mechanics can only do so much work in a day, but online bookings can still be booked in regardless, so there's a good chance your car may not get fixed the same day, so I'd recommend phoning them first before booking online. Kay and the team work tirelessly to keep everyone happy, so don't blame them, but due to the lack of staff in the industry the service provided will be impacted for the forseeable.

    Terrible experience, failed my MOT and wrongly advised that I could still drive the car. Still not arranged MOT re-test and I have ended up going elsewhere. Also listed advisories for works that did not require repair on, other garage advised that the works they listed for repair looked brand new after checking. Definitely malpractice going on at this place!

    Meant to have a health check on the car Tuesday just gone attended centre only to be told they had 1 technician so it had to be cancelled, found him slightly rude but I was polite but when I got home just thought I booked it, could of had the decency to ring and advise ,, this Halfords gone down the drain will never use them again will find another garage preferred the other guy who was on the main desk he was so polite and other staff, found the service poor with customer care is so poor

    Had a suspected puncture and booked online for a puncture repair. Kay checked and saw that there was a nail in the shoulder of the tyre wall and showed me the issue. He ordered me a new tyre which was fitted the next working day. Fantastic service!

    Receptionist was not customer friendly. Without seeing clutch he confirmed that clutch needs to be replaced. I still didnt understand how can the appointment will go for 2 mins which was booked for many days ago ?? Funny thing was, after completing appointment he cancelled appointment which was no sense...

    I booked my car in for MOT and the autocentre was very efficient on what needs to be fixed. Kay was able to book me in for a brake change within a few days after and they were very excellent on always contacting me about updates. Thank you so much to Kay for helping me out with the last minute tyres change too, within my booking. Really appreciate for helping me out with my problems. Will always recommend this auto centre for its services.

    I got my cars MOT done at Halfords, and I must say that my experience was truly outstanding. I want to give a special shoutout to the Kay, who goes the extra mile for his customers . The team were very helpful during my visit. They were really professional, and courteous. I highly recommend Halfords Acocks Green, for their outstanding service. Their professionalism, knowledge, and willingness to assist make them true assets to the company. I will undoubtedly return to Halfords for all my future MOTs.

    Its indeed a doggy place... I went for tyre change .. they broke my wheel cover and stated that it was already broken ..it was never broken till i left my car at their station...i would not recommend anyone to get your car service done at halfords..

    Utterly disappointed and disgusted at how i was treated at this branch of halfords, was spoken to with disgusting language and verbal confrontation from a white male behind the desk. As i asked for his name so i can make a formal complaint and he said its simon then he said its dave, but his name is actually Damian. Im waiting for a response from halfords complaints procedures currently. #digusted

    Poor service all the way. Very disappointed. Let my car for mot and service at 11 o'clock. I had the mot done and failed at 11,40 am and I get a call from them at 4 o'clock informing me. Long story short in my opinion very unprofessional.

    I have been using Halfords Auto centres for approx 15 years and with one exception the attitude of staff and customer service has always been excellent. My car recently suffered a cracked radiator and needed a service, the usual local centres were fully booked and so my car was towed to Acocks Green by the AA, with the work booked in to be done on the following Monday, 8th August. My calls to them on the 8th and 9th were unanswered, but I was told on the 11th that it should be done on the 13th. To cut a long story short, I received the 1st call from them on the 22nd to say work completed. No estimate or price quoted. Service warning light is still on . Appalling customer service over 19 days that they had my car. Halfords are usually much better than this, so my advice is to avoid this centre.
