We specifically chose this Chong Qing for its location and crowd. We reserved well in advance as this place requires reservation during the peak hours. Ordered Grilled Tilapia in spicy fragrant sauce and few veggies like potato, lettuce, tofu. The flavours were amazing and fish tasted really fresh and there was no fishy smell as you usually feel while eating any seafood. We got a plate of home made buns and rice to go along with it. Cooled ourselves with cucumber salad. For drink we got sour plum four seasons tea and local craft beer. Everything we ate or drank were worth it. Staff was friendly and accomodated our request of getting rice later and also getting some of those buns take away. Definitely will visit again, Cheers :)

Saturday lunch at 12pm, only customer in the restaurant for a while. We ordered the set with the grilled fish and several side dishes. Fish was fragrant and flavorful, but the portion was a little small for 4 pax. Generally on the saltier side as expected of Chinese cuisine. We had a good lunch together.

Spicy fragrant grilled sea bass was one of the best you can find in Singapore. The sauce was not overly numbing spicy and was just nice to be savor just by itself. To complement the dish, we ordered the French bean with minced pork & dried chili to give it some texture and crunch to the meal. Extremely satisfying

Overall spent about $130 for 3 person with 4 dishes. Personally felt the la zi ji stood out the most. It was aromatic but very spicy. The grilled fish fell a little short of expectations. The flavours didn’t quite infuse with the fish and there was no sweetness in the fish. Service was not amazing either. Ok if you’re looking for some spicy mala food but at this price point maybe would rather go for hdl.

Got the mushroom seabass, medium spicy and added Chinese cabbage. Portioning is quite little, can only find a few pieces of veg and that's about it. Service was also slow. Our noodles was not served as we were almost finishing our food. We checked twice with one stuff who told us that he will check for us. Then we checked a third time with another staff and staff told us they forgot our noodles. She asked if we would like to cancel this item since we are almost finishing our food. We said ok. Our noodles came shortly. Seasoning and food is quite nice and flavourful.

We brought our friends to experience mala cusine and were told that the Classic set meal for 4 pax offers whole seabass so we accepted their recommendation. The medium seabass was slightly small in our perspective because we were expecting a larger fish since fish is the main item in this set. Each one of us got a little portion and it tasted fishy and unfresh, we didnt enjoy the fish at all. Nonetheless, we thought the presentation of this dish was beautiful and the side dishes in the fish tasted yummy. We were wowed by all other side dishes like Spinach, Lala, Sweet&Sour Pork, Watering Chicken, etc. We feedbacked to the Server on our experience and glad that they will inform their kitchen. In general, their service level is friendly and helpful. It is the fish dish that ruined the overall eating experience.

Excellent food and customer service. My food was in a mess when the grab driver delivered to me and was irresponsible to reply or answer my call. When I call in the restaurant to ask for a solution, immediately after seeing the photos that I send them. Without second they arrange to send me those damage food to be replace and resolved my issue. Would like to thanks chong Qing grilled fish serangoon for your fast reply and your efficiency. I'm usually not too critical or emotional in rating.. but this is an exception. It's a bad start when I can't see the fish from the hotpot.. it was fully immersed (like a fish soup). The 金目录 has a very prominent mud taste.. I get it that it's not a premium fish but it was a reminder at every mouth. The 2 dishes weren't too bad.. find the 四季都 a tad pricey at $13.80 for what was served. The 辣子鸡 was the saving grace to be honest. Good to finally put this place to rest, and wasted only my own calories (and not the family's).
