This is a great farm-to-table fresh market and coffee shop. The market features home-grown vegetables, artisan breads and pastries, cheeses, cut flowers and plants, small containers of ready-to-eat foods, imported canned goods, and more. The market building is a big, open room with a high ceiling and exposed trusses. Out the rear door is a huge covered porch and courtyard with comfy outdoor chairs. Here you can sit and enjoy your coffee or snacks in the open air. Next door is a greenhouse where some of the flowers and vegetables are grown. The coffee shop (accessible via the courtyard or via drive-through) features coffee drinks and snacks. This market is architecturally very pleasant and beautifully landscaped. It's a great place to grab some gourmet foods or just stop for a coffee.

I loved it! On my way home from teaching the chair yoga class at the Waterfront Botanical Gardens, I decided to take the scenic route down River Road. I was surprised and delighted to see the newly opened Haymarket! It was so shiny, fresh, and new! It's a healthy happy atmosphere. Folks were enjoying lunch and I was just feeling THRILLED at the sight and the memories. The Hay Market of old was a place to meet the local farmers, know them by name, Gemella would give you an onion or two for the greens you just bought from her. No matter the season, the Hay market had something for you, Christmas or tomato plants. Anyway.... The new spot is very pretty and a bit pricey for my budget. But that's just me - it may be right up your alley!

This place is outstanding. Highly curated market with only the best of everything. Amazing staff and plenty of them to make sure that everyone gets taken care of in a timely fashion. This place is hitting on all cylinders. I'm glad we found each other.

Amazing place! Perfect for a coffee. The outdoor area is so good in sunny days. They have a lot of pastries and fancy sweets. Highly recommend!

What a great place!!! The staff is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. We stopped by after having lunch on the river front. The selection and quality of items available is excellent. A great place for a cup, a snack, or a treat!!!

Beautiful place, has fresh produce, salad dressings, dips, pickles, cheeses, patisserie, bakery, artisanal breads, fresh pressed juices, sandwiches, bowls and more. Great variety of vegan milks and desserts in frozen section Few suggestions though: maybe a meet and greet team to guide people where to order, where to find the menu for dining in, where to pay, where the water cups or water fountain is, where can one sit. We went on a Saturday afternoon right after it had rained and the place was buzzing, felt a bit confused on is it full service dine in or order and pick, just to go. Didnโ€™t take long to figure how the system works and what the flow of the floor is. Gender neutral Restrooms are outside in the backyard seating area, the ones we saw. There is also coffee option in the backyard. However when you order inside you donโ€™t know if they have hot coffee or not. Outside covered seating looks amazing with plenty of pretty plants. We tried the food which was great like the collard green melt and corn chowder, however the rose and hibiscus tea was quite a shock to tastebuds, extremely sour and no sweetener added. Not pleasing at all, one would think after being open for a few months they wouldโ€™ve figured customers disappointment with the Rose and Hibiscus tea flavor. It sounds exotic and tempting on menu but reality was not so fun. That being said I bet they can change the recipe a bit to make it more pleasing or easier on palatte. Overall a beautiful space and a great concept.

Itโ€™s a really nice place, I loved the feel and style of this market. My most favorite part was the fresh baked bread! Omg itโ€™s amazing!! I tried pumpernickel, Sourdough and Baguette. Definitely worth a visit just to try something new.
