Bani is a good private hostel ,no water crisis , the environment is the kind where you can easily find your space, the only issue is when you have to buy your own electricity and WiFi even though we pay a huge amount just to stay, I'll rather go to any African Union hostel than Bani but for its serenity and good security measures in place and strict policy against perchers ,Bani's the place to be

This hostel has a very poor layout for their rooms with equally poor ventilation and is poorly managed. Students are always arriving to be told their rooms are occupied by other people who have not left yet and they don't even communicate the delay to students ahead of time so they make necessary adjustments to their schedule. It's such a big inconvenience to receive this news when you've travelled a long way to get to school 2 days before lectures start to be told this. It's still an inconvenience when you live in Accra and shouldn't happen. After the occupants have left the management can't ensure cleaners go in and clean up after them before regular students move in because of the tight schedule so now that becomes the headache of whoever's now moving in. About the layout, I don't know if it's the same in every room but for a room with 4 occupants, you'd think they would separate the shower from the toilet. They're both in one space. No sense of privacy. And if someone does the no. 2 well, the toilet is right next to the door leading to the room that has poor ventilation so you can imagine. The corridors in their old block and even the new block has never looked clean all the times I've been there. There are so many things wrong with this hostel but I'll leave it at the above four which are essential in a place shared by so many people. The cost board for a person sharing a room with 3 other people in these conditions is absolutely ridiculous. I hope this helps someone who actually cares.

One of the best places on Campus. There is a taxi service. Even better when you drive. Rooms are great, price is very good, and you get greater value for money. Does not flood and there is food.

My experience in Bani Hostel is modertely good. However, there are a lot of cockroaches and other insects coming into both the extreme end rooms due to the waste collection system located at both extreme ends of the building. Secondly because the forcourt of block C and D are not well paved, walking into the building after raining days results in so much mud/sand being carried into the rooms thereby causing dirty on the corridors and inside the rooms.

Jeez I wouldn't pay for a room there even if it was the only hostel available on Legon campus, you'd find yourself more comfortable sleeping under a bridge

It's a well defined hostel with a nice environment, perfect for students. It has shops in there as well, so no need going out to get some stuff.

It's one of the best hostels I Kumasi, spacious rooms, good service and affordable prices Only downside is the location, might be relatively harder to get to campus from there compared to other places especially if you don't own a car

The 4-block 4 storey hostel lies to the north of the University of Ghana's Legon campus. Pros: 1. Close and easy access to transportation from the Madina/Atomic Interchange lorry station which is 5 minutes walk away. 2. The campus has adequate water supply; indeed the best hostel on campus with water supply throughout the year. Cons: 1. Some of the hostel rooms have bad sewage leakage problems in the bathrooms. 2. Water drains onto the ceiling of the bathrooms wetting the floor in some of the hostel rooms. Therefore, you need to check the rooms and bathrooms very carefully before accepting to occupy them. But on the whole, its a serenely cool atmosphere out there especially at nights when the Bani market comes to life. Special mention goes to Mr. Philip, a porter at block B. He is very polite and will listen to all your complaints without getting angry or upset with you. Kudos to him!

Like most hostels on the University of Ghana campus, each room has its own washroom, a couple of chairs and tables for studies. There's great security with surveillance systems and the personnel are quite amiable. There are shops within the boundaries of the hostel that sell groceries and other basic necessities.
