Not exactly cheap in price. However, good service is obtained. clean rooms, pool, breakfast including pancakes and a central yet quiet location in Accra. Also a good place to meet other travellers

This hotel rarely priced and has lots of foreigners staying there. It has a pool, bar and restaurant, they offer vegan food there. More or less, affordable for long stay vacations.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Somewhere Nice. Such a clean, quiet and serene environ, and a short drive from the airport. Sumptuous breakfast, hospitable staff and a very kind bartender. I highly recommend.

Cocktails 10/10 Details I went there on a chill day just for cocktails. It seems a safe place with security and an automated lock. The bar is right next to the swimming pool which gives a whole serene vibe. I had an akpeteshie soda and caipirinha which was freshly made and very good. It was a good time well spent there. The prices are very good as compared to cocktail prices in Accra now.

After reading such great things about this hostel, we were quite disappointed. The rooms looked lovely on the website, but were very basic in reality and the bathroom left a little to be desired (I noticed later there were no photos of them on the website). There were a few insects and the sheets/towels were slightly damp - I know this can happen in rainy season, but it still isn't very pleasant. The location also wasn't optimal as there's nothing around there that you really want to do, so you always need to get a taxi somewhere. The outside area and breakfast are nice but still, on returning to Accra we chose a simple hotel in Osu instead and were much happier there (plus it was cheaper). The staff were very nice but still, especially given the prices - unless you're looking for a hostel vibe, I would choose elsewhere.

A 2-star hotel, it has a clean swimming pool, and breakfast included. The environment and room I stayed in were clean. I like the fact that the meals at breakfast were simple, with a menu card for guests to know what was for breakfast. The mango jam, hibiscus drink, groundnut cake and smoothie, were all made by the chef. I stayed in the dormitory even though a shared space, it was neat. My roommates were friendly and ready to chat. I had to do an early checkout and next time, I would get the private space. There was a jar of local liquid black soap for guests and people could purchase. The staff and management were willing to assist me with an earlier checkout without a fuss. It is a good place to meet guests from different countries. I met two Ivorians, a Scottish lady, an American and a Danish man cycling in Ghana for 5 weeks. It is preferable to change your currency (preferably US dollars) to cedis for payment. I enjoyed my short visit.

I love this place! The staff is so kind, especially the bartender. Great drinks, breakfast, pool. Met a ton of awesome people who stayed there. Tons of fun and great safe environment. I stayed in the room upstairs with a large bed downstairs and 2 twin beds upstairs. No complaints! Watch out for the mosquitos, but that goes for all of Ghana :)

I stayed at Somewhere Nice for a week in November 2022. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a kettle, lovely bathroom and shower. It had space to unpack our belongings and a table to work or eat at. The air conditioning and fan kept the room cool and the air fresh - a respite from the Accra heat! All the staff we interacted with were extremely friendly and helpful, answering all of our questions and making sure we had everything we needed. The communal areas, including the pool and bar, were lovely and clean. The breakfast every day was excellent. I cannot wait to stay here again!

Maybe some nicer rooms upstairs, or reasonable value for dorm stays. Ours was a tiny, smelly room towards the noisy road. That at e50 does not represent value. What piqued me was unwillingness to accept credit card payment for smaller amounts, would have needed a bottle water, straight from a long flight and no local cash. Please show bit of reasonable flexibility.

I arrived at Somewhere Nice intending to stay for a couple of weeks, and ended up staying for 3 months, I wish I could have stayed forever. I was able to work remotely easily using the wifi, enjoyed the amazing (free!) breakfast every day, great fresh food from Nii's stall and drinks/vibes from Chi Chi's bar in the evening. I also loved reading by the pool during the day, it's really well maintained and a great bonus. It's really a home from home, I felt really looked after by all the staff and I was genuinely so sad to leave. If you are looking for a standard/faceless hotel, this isn't the spot for you. Somewhere Nice is just that, a lovely home in a local neighbourhood with all the spirit of Africa you could hope for. I will be back as soon as I am able!

If you are coming to Accra, don’t look further. This is an amazing place to stay, close to the centre and with a relax and great vibe. Great rooms and amazing breakfast. You would like to stay longer, highly recommended

First off, I must commend the idea behind this hostel. They took sustainability up a higher notch. However, from my experience there - the space and design wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea as the sustainability theme is almost overboard. The staff were really cool. My wife loves it there!

Somewhere Nice is a little slice of paradise in Accra. So much space to chill out and a pool to relax in too (if you haven't been to Accra - you'll realise how wonderful this is with the climate here). Love the emphasis on sustainability too. Not to mentioned the team here, who are really friendly and accommodating. Definitely where I'll be staying each time I visit the capital.

Somewhere nice is very nice until you leave your package there. I stayed there once in December 2019 and loved it there. My friend left me a parcel there later in 2022 June and I felt comfortable because of my previous experience there. Unfortunately when I went for it, the story was different. Went there for the first time and I was told the package was with someone OUTSIDE THE PROPERTY. Really? I later went there and this time, no one was even interested in talking to me. I stood there helplessly and took the only option available to me. I had to leave.

We felt very comfortable at the somewhere nice hostel and started and ended our Ghana trip here. In the turbulent city, somewhere nice was a nice oasis with a relaxing pool and a cool bar. Nice rooms (especially in the older house). We were very happy. Thanks!

Lovely bijoux chilled place. Separate room was very comfortable, excellent WiFi also for video conferencing, refreshing little pool, cool bar for the evenings. Location so so, a bit far to walk most places, but there are always plenty of cheap taxis in Accra.

I stayed here at the end of October 2022, and 😻😻; it exceeded expectations. I’m not sure when the hostel was built, but the facilities still looked great (great use of concrete in the bathrooms, they stay sturdy for years). I got a bed in the all-female dorm, and we went from 5-7 across the nights that I was there…no disturbances. Everyone (the other guests, kitchen and reception staff) was pleasant. Like I could see myself returning to stay there, when next I visit Ghana. And, I really liked the “backpacking” feel, most people were exploring countries. The choices we had at breakfast were more than most hotels (at similar star rating) offer, to be honest. The area might be tricky to find/describe, but like the website says…mentioning ATTC does the trick.

There is always that place away from home that makes you enjoy your time out. This hostel is one such place. With enough room space for 8, this hostel offers enough haven for a night's stay. Security is guaranteed, so too is breakfast. There is also a swimming pool in the center of the building. If in Kokomlemle or around the Nkrumah Circle and looking for a place to rest just holla and be served.

  • 4/5 N P. 1 year ago on Google
I came in from Central Region . This was my 1st visit yet will be a go-to as its centrally located and not far from Kwame Nkrumah " Circle ". Used Bolt to couple local locations that were 10 to 28 cedis for 2 people. Very clean! Staff nice and welcoming Breakfast available daily Pool is clean along with the grounds shaded with fruit trees and other foliage Serene vibe, international guest and great lounge spaces to chill in/with Was happy to see chalkboard that listed local things to do -- went dancing at Afrikiko!! Liked my room that offered view of pool on second floor, hot water & AC available in wash room, bed was comfy and recyclable repurposed in room/ grounds; applaud their efforts to minimise waste and uses of Black soap...much more to say yet you get the gest... was a great stay! Unfortunately one of a kind in Accra. Unfortunately because they have increased the prices, paying around 280cedi for a bed in the female 8-beds-dorm, including breakfast. The breakfast is pretty good, including fruits, coffee, pancakes and eggs. There is a pool area to relax, which is rare to find in Accra. The dorm is clean and bright. There are fans, as well as A/C and boxes to lock your stuff. The staff is very friendly and helpful. For food there is one good restaurant around but for everything else you will have to take a taxi.

It is my first visit to Ghana. And Accra can be overwhelming... How nice it is then to dive into this oasis of peace and be lovingly cared for. Absolute recommendation. A wonderful place as an introduction to this country so foreign to us.

Best breakfast. Clean. Comfortable. Good atmosphere. Helpful staff. Good luck finding something like that elsewhere in Ghana (I've tried).

Stayed in a private room here and it’s so nice. Boho, minimalistic room aesthetic with an en-suite that houses a shower and bathtub! Free breakfast from 7:30-10:30am with an amazing spread of crepes, fruit, and eggs/omelet. Everyone is so kind here. The common areas are cozy and there’s even a pool. The only issues I’ve had here is with the hot water and running water in general. I’ll turn on only the hot water nozzle and it’s still just a cold shower. Aside from that, sometimes there’s no running water at all and that’s frustrating.

Excellent value for money in Accra. Stayed in one of the self contained rooftop rooms. Spacious with Scandinavian style decor. Staff were super friendly, especially the bar manager. Swimming pool is a big plus.

Best hostel/guest house in Accra! I’ve lived in Ghana for 10 years and for the last 4, we’ve stayed at Somewhere Nice every time we’re in Accra. The dorm is great value with AC and hot water. The rooms are excellent design and comfortable. The staff is so kind and welcoming. The breakfast is delicious. Where are you staying? Somewhere Nice!

Great hostel and hub to meet other travellers. People working at the hotel are incredibly nice & helpful. Beds are hard, other than this everything was perfect

Meeting international travelers in a hostel is like unwrapping a cultural gift box—each person brings a unique story, a different perspective. Amidst shared laughter and conversations, there's a beautiful blend of diversity. And when the rhythm of good African music fills the air, it's like a universal language uniting us, turning moments into memories that transcend borders. The joy of discovering new friendships while swaying to the beats—those are the moments that paint the most vivid colors in the travel canvas of life.

Nicely located hostel with good access to public transport (city and intercity). Staff is extremely helpful and attentive. They offer delicious breakfast which probably fits most tastes. Rooms and sanitary facilities are clean. The hostel features a bar that is open from the early afternoon with reasonably priced drinks and snacks.

Staff made me feel like family and always went the extra mile. Their driver waited three hours to pick me up from the airport when I arrived in Accra, were quick with a good bar or club recommendation, and kept the facilities clean. Somewhere nice is a beautiful oasis for the tired traveler. Definitely staying here anytime I find myself in Accra:

An environmental friendly and cool place to stay, Rooms are neat, clean bedsheets, bar, mini swimming pool with sun beds, not many options for breakfast but I really enjoyed their pannenkoek (pancake) and omelette with variety of fruits, cafe and tea bags. They try as much as the can to reduce the use of disposable plastics which I am an advocate for.✊🏿 Unfortunately during my stay, there was a lot of mosquitoes especially in the compound so I will advise that you come along with mosquito repellents.

It's very basic and creative, definately not for me. Mostly for backpackers and tourists. However I was impressed with the eco touristic nature of the place. I took a few ideas from them

  • 5/5 Dnshitobu 1 year ago on Google
The place is actually somewhere nice. There is an automated lock for the main door which gives you the assurance of the security. Your first step in makes you fill that you are in the hometown of Africa because of the African edifices added as furnishings for the place. It's not a popular place though but has one of the nicest swimming pool. It has both single and hostel rooms for different people with different budget. Breakfast greets you good morning where you can network with other people in the hostel. It's actually somewhere nice and I love it

This place is perfect if you're a solo traveller on a budget. I'm in Accra for work for a week and the hostel suits my needs perfectly. Safe, modern, comfortable and social. The reclaimed wood, metal and textiles are a nice touch, as is the kettle in the rooms and the iron put at residents' disposal. The pool is perfect after a long sweaty day, and the internet is reliable which means I can work. The breakfast features eggs and bread and fresh fruit. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper as Accra is a lively city from dawn till dusk!

  • 5/5 Arjan A. 1 year ago on Google
Great place in Accra for travelers. The dorm is simple, but clean and has airconditioning. They serve a decent breakfast but no other meals. Most of all it's a great place to meet other travelers if you want to make connections for your trips in Ghana.

This is a super cool hide out to relax from the stress of life... Though found in the heart of the city, the environment is serene, simple and nice to buy some time off rigorous activities/ busy life. Their breakfast and wifi are bonuses to lodging there. Most lodgers are foreigners (Germans, Spanish, French, some Asians, etc.). This place is great for group lodging (8persons in a room)... There is a small library where you can pick a book (it's stocked by simply leaving your book there, thus passing a book on). So don't forget to carry a book with you so you can leave it behind. All in all, this place is 👌👌👌
