I
set
out
this
morning
after
the
hour
of
eight
with
a
view
to
make
a
review
of
the
Methodist
Book
Depot.
At
a
point
I
found
myself
on
the
Independence
Avenue
alongside
the
Afua
Sutherland
Children's
Park;
opposite
and
also
across
the
street
to
Ecobank
Head
Office.
I
made
notes
on
the
Park
for
a
future
review
but
no
photos
were
taken.
At
the
Electricity
Head
Office,
I
was
getting
nearer
my
mission.
It
is
after
the
hour
of
nine
and
I
saw
a
huge
crowd
ahead
of
me
on
both
sides
of
the
road
with
a
few
random
crossings
from
one
side
of
the
street
to
the
other
side.
Most
people
along
the
roadsides
were
Sellers.
It
dawn
on
or
upon
me
that
I
was
really
in
the
center
of
business
activities;
an
area
of
the
Accra
Business
Center.
I
got
to
the
Accra
Law
School
and
sited
the
Makola
Shopping
Mall.
I
therefore
decided
to
take
my
first
photo
of
the
day;
directed
at
a
front
side
of
the
Shopping
Mall.
I
saw
the
Methodist
Book
Depot
at
a
near
distance
and
therefore
went
alongside
the
Shopping
Mall
in
order
to
take
a
side
view
photo
of
the
Depot.
The
Methodist
Book
Depot
is
a
storeyed
building.
The
Sale
of
Books
and
the
Display
had
been
at
the
Ground
Floor.
The
Depot
had
been
established
more
than
half
a
century
ago.
Today
I
found
out
that
its
place
had
been
taken
over
by
the
Premier
Bank
which
had
been
presently
taken
over
by
the
Consolidated
Bank
Ghana
which
is
obviously
this
year.
The
frontage
has
many
sellers
including
second
hand
book
sellers.
There
is
a
Public
Announcing
loudspeaker
calling
onto
the
public
on
behalf
of
the
Book
Depot.
The
voice
I
was
hearing
was
in
the
English,
Ga
and
Twi
languages
making
people
become
aware
that
there
is
all
kinds
of
Text
Books
for
Students.
I
went
to
the
back
compound
as
directed.
The
first
to
attend
to
me
was
a
Security
personnel
who
asked
me
to
leave
behind
my
bag
before
going
into
the
Book
Depot.
He
gave
me
a
numbered
small
flat
wood
and
also
put
similar
numbered
one
on
my
bag
which
I
left
in
his
custody.
His
Post
was
at
some
distance
away
from
the
Entrance
way
into
the
Depot.
At
some
distance
away
from
the
Exiting
door
way
is
a
Kiosk.
At
the
top
front
is
written
"LIBRARY
BOOKS"
and
underneath
stated
Christian
Books,
Old
Bible,
Children's
Reading,
Reference
&
Others.
I
entered
and
saw
a
lot
of
books.
Immediately
and
at
the
left
side
of
Entrance
is
the
Cashier
and
the
Supervisor
all
seated.
I
was
approached
by
a
female
attendant
to
whom
I
explained
my
reason
for
Visit.
I
perceived
an
In-house
Security
personnel
in
plain
clothes.
All
books
were
in
Sections.
Books
had
Price
tags.
I
can
see
the
attendant
was
very
busy
with
some
customers
in
the
search
of
what
they
want
to
buy.
I
moved
straight
forward
to
the
far
end
started
my
observation
of
books
leftwards.
I
kept
moving
leftwards
for
more
than
Ten(10)
minutes
before
coming
to
the
center
portions.
You
may
find
my
observations
interesting
