I liked the place The owner , I mean the guy we found there was very kind and polite Keep doing so The place is both nice and kinda historical Like the vibe and the fact that everything is matching the spirit of jamestown Did not have the chance to taste the food but just the place amazed me Some might find it fine or less according to their expectations, but seriously it's a must see while in jamestown

Famous exhibition on yesterday of stunning contemporary African art. We loved this cafe also, nice setting with shelter from sun. Food took some time for ordering, service and payments but it was ok even if we only got half the order. Slightly off putting was seeing a rat above the kitchen roof :( the dogs on site seemed friendly. This us a trendy cafe but not obvious from the road as our taxi couldn't find it and there's no obvious sign

Lovely place for some local food. Food took quite a while to be ready and we had to guard our plate from flies. The owner is a very friendly man, he gave us free WiFi to use and helped with directions and information about where to go.

The man said it's a creative and open minded space for exchanges but when it came to talking and trying to exchange he was actually just super condescending. I didn't feel welcomed at all

Nice vibe when you walk in and the art was nice, but no fans so it was hot and the bugs were unpleasant. Tiny food portions and condescending staff. Checked it out because of the reviews, would not recommend.

Simple unique, this place left a lasting impression. I love the museum and music. Avis is a very nice person. Suitable for all groups, friends and families. Suitable for concerts too. Do stop by whenever you visit Jamestown or in Accra.

No food available unfortunately and no Wifi either which was a shame as it was listed as somewhere that one could work. Lovely staff, cute gardens.

I really like the vibe at Jamestown cafe! It’s very welcoming, you can easily feel at home there. It’s not even about the staff, it’s just the design I guess, very open space, simple decor colourful decor, books, plants and art you can go wrong with this combination The food is good and budget friendly but be warned service can be slow so order quickly They have a hostel as well for travellers. During the week days and weekends there are various art exhibitions and small concerts. It’s also available for private events The order Joe is really nice. I saw him making it a point to say hi to all his customers. I

The oldest part of Accra which also houses the Jamestown Fish Market. An accient community by the water side. Kwame Nkrumah was locked up in a prison in this area. You should see this place

We took a group of 34 high school students and teachers to a (very affordable) buffet at Jamestown Cafe and had an absolute blast. The food was incredible - so many options!! The vegetarians in our group were excited after days of Red Red as their only option (no one was complaining about though). The space itself is also very interesting. The walls are old and seem to have many stories to tell. There's a small gallery of very cool works of local painters and a small stage in the yard where the eating area is for entertainment or presentations. Just a fantastic experience all in all.

It has a unique atmosphere that is quite different from other hang outs in Accra. The set up is different... It has a back yard vibe to it that makes you feel at home.

We were drawn in by the gallery and stayed for the books, food and very friendly dogs. Ivas and Andy who run the place are wonderful and so knowledgeable. We hung out here for a few hours and loved it. They have a gorgeous shaded garden terrace to sit in and very clean washrooms. Food is cheap too. Loved it.

Not much to it when we went. Nice relaxed atmosphere. 20 cedis for two small juices that are only 1-2 cedis elsewhere. Felt like we were had.

  • 5/5 Hakeem A. 2 years ago on Google
The ambiance is everything. I love that the prices are friendly and the portions are good. The VAT is excluded in their menu pricing so have that in mind when you see 10 cedis Banana bread slice. I truly enjoyed the waffles and the had one of the best iced lattes. You should definitely visit for the lattes. Lastly as a space for remote work, I would recommend headphones (noise-cancelling ones) although the ambient noise can be pleasing.

Very cool place to sit and talk. Nice artworks around. But there's no food and drinks. Looks like Covid slowed business. And yeah, you can book the place for an event too. Say video shoot and the like.

I recently shot a music video at James Town Cafe, and I must say, it was an absolute gem of a location. The cafe's ambiance is a perfect blend of vintage charm and contemporary chic. Exposed brick walls adorned with local artwork provided an ideal backdrop for the video, creating an atmosphere that perfectly complemented the music's vibe. The staff at James Town Cafe went above and beyond to ensure the shoot went smoothly. Their exceptional service made the experience enjoyable and stress-free. From assisting with set-up to accommodating our creative requests, their professionalism truly stood out. The cafe's interior design offered a variety of visually captivating settings for different scenes. Whether it was the cozy corner with plush couches or the well-lit stage area, each spot added a unique touch to the video. The natural light streaming in through large windows was a filmmaker's dream, adding warmth and vibrancy to the visuals. Overall, James Town Cafe isn't just a place to grab a great cup of coffee and delicious bites; it's a versatile location with a welcoming atmosphere and a team that genuinely cares about making your experience remarkable. If you're in search of a location for your next project or simply a charming cafe to unwind, James Town Cafe should definitely be on your list.
