My second visit to a coffee shop in Birmingham on my quest to review every coffee bar in Birmingham for Google Maps. The weather was fine so I sat outside. When entering the immediate impression one gets is of the stunningly beautiful ambience and decor, also the lighting makes one feel extremely relaxed immediately. The young lady who served me was very polite and offered excellent customer service. I did not eat anything here today but I have had a cake before, it was delicious. I cannot judge the food until I have tried, review to follow. My cappuccino was beautifully balanced not too strong not too weak served at the correct temperature. If you are visiting Birmingham, do not hesitate to visit this wonderful coffee shop and bar it is undoubtedly one of the best in Birmingham, you will not be disappointed. 😁 Ambience - 10 Service - 10 Coffee - 10 Food- To follow Please note my reviews are done with the utmost integrity and honesty. I have spent over 40 years visiting coffee bars across the world. I will always try to be objective about my reviews and never subjective. If I notice things are wrong I will always inform you, so that you do not waste your time and money and face a disappointing coffee morning, which is very important to all of us. Please note, wheelchair users would not have a problem in entering or leaving this coffee shop. Public toilets are downstairs, so you would not be able to use them.

Perfect roasted coffee. l really love the “cold brew”! They sell coffee beans as well and can pulverize them if you want. And there is plugs on the wall and available public wifi connection. It will not be that quiet, but fine for me to do some casual work. Really love the coffee smell throughout the whole space. You should not come if you like that smell xx.

Nice coffee shop in town, a couple of minutes walk from new street station. When I went it was very busy so can be difficult to find a table. Downstairs are toilets, not further seating. The service was quick despite being busy and the drink came hot. We were given a table number and someone came and gave the drinks to us, which was nice. It was very dim lighting in there which I guess sets the mood but I found it quite dark. There are some armchairs next to fake fireplaces which are comfortable. I had the hot chocolate, it was okay, not a very strong chocolate flavour.

The highlight was the service which was very quick and agile. The vibe felt very warm with dim lighting. I ordered a hot chai latte but I barely tasted the ‘chai’ flavor and got a plate of chocolate cake which was scrumptious and decent. Downstairs are for restrooms which were okay, not too clean tho. Keep up the good work!

Came in here for a drink and cake mid afternoon. Very busy and we were lucky to get a table. Ordered through the app and had to wait quite a while for our drinks to arrive, our waiter brought the drinks over and had to check, that the drinks he was bringing us what we had ordered. Asked for cinnamon bun to be warmed up, but was advised, that the oven was broken and that would have to have it cold, as they wouldn't be able to fix the oven till the following week.

Usually come here for lovely lovely coffee and left a fabulous review on my main account a while back. Unfortunately, today I decided to try the Chocolate Milkshake and my friend ordered a Strawberry milkshake. My chocolate milkshake was AWFUL. It was powdery, extremely sweet, it was not icy like a normal milkshake (it was just milky), and it tasted like remnants of other spoilt fruity drinks. This was the worst milkshake I have ever had honestly. I did not want to bother the staff because they were quite busy so I just left my milkshake on the table. My friend was given a berry smoothie instead of the Strawberry milkshake he asked for, but he corrected the server and she promptly brought his order. This milkshake was MUCH more tolerable than mine, as it did not taste like the blender was dirty and the milkshake was a little bit icy. It was not rich though, it just tasted like a watered down strawberry milk. Milkshakes are supoosed to be rich, creamy and full of flavour. I was thoroughly disappointed and I wish I could get my 3.85£ back. Please don't order anything other than coffee as your drink here!

Had this coffee place recommended to me by a friend. I wasn't disappointed as it's great. The coffee is fantastic and the cakes are really good too. They had table service and they brought our drinks over really soon after we ordered. It was busy on our visit but there was a really good atmosphere and it didn't feel stressy even though there were a lot of customers. Will definitely go back again. And the staff were really nice too.

Great ambience and vibe in this cafe. Prices are good and the service is excellent. If you get the app and use a referral code from a friend you can grab yourself a free drink! Cappuccino was lovely and smooth, white hot chocolate was also amazing. Very easy to order from either the counter or mobile phone app. Definitely a great spot to visit regularly!

My go to place in town. Spanish latte is my fav and the staff are always nice and friendly. Sometimes it can be very busy but it's understandable. Recommended to all of my friends lol

We went on Saturday and it was quite busy. A totally nice place with great coffee and food. Staff are very friendly and polite. The wait wasn’t too long considering how busy it was. Good location as well so if you’re just shopping in town or just want to have a chat with friends, I’d recommend this cafe.

A very good coffee at a fair price. I recommend an oat latte or oat flat white. Their coffee is not too strong, there can be quite a wait after you've placed your order but its definitely worth it! One of the better cafes in Birmingham.

My favourite coffee shop in Birmingham. Since my dietary needs have changed, it's been hard to find a tasty coffee... the team here are doing a good job. Thank you!

Was hoping for a good coffee spot and it didn't disappoint. Tried for the first time the Spanish Latte and it was great. A cozy spot in the city center, would definitely come back. Had a great afternoon here.

Came in here for a quick tea and coffee before our evening meal out. Very good atmosphere inside. A bit slow on the drinks been made but they do bring it to your table. Food looked good but we didn't have anything. Very busy and lucky to get a table. Staff also came round to say they were closing in 15 minutes as it was the end of the day. Tea was certainly better than a lot of other coffee shops especially the big branded companies.

I’ve been to the cafe a few times now and I can’t fault it. Everything is amazing from the customer service to the hot drinks themselves. From the moment you walk in the staff are very welcoming and are happy to take you through the drinks and which they recommend. Overall a really friendly and warm environment!!

Best coffee shop in Birmingham! Great location & love how cosy it is inside! Service is brilliant & one of my fave coffee shops to visit! If your from Birmingham then you definitely need to try this place!

The coffee is good most of the time, although sometimes the milk is overheated. Biggest problem is staff and speed of service. At peak time you can wait 15mins for a takeaway coffee and even quite times service is slow. Staff are often pretty rude about it if you ask how long

Best coffee. Always busy but they manage to serve consistent good coffee. Never had a poor brew from there and close later than many other coffee shops what is a plus for a coffee after work

I’ve been to many specialty coffee shops around and this one has exceeded my expectations with the coffee and employees, I recommend their flat white!

Came in the branch Wed 29.11.23 and was quickly served at the till. I was not told there would be a 10-15 minute wait for coffee, but as I was not in a rush this was fine. We had a latte and a traditional tea. I had to take both back as they were barely warm. The woman at the counter showed zero interest not concern that it was barely warm. There were 6 drinks sat on the counter waiting to taken out to tables and the disinterested woman showed no sign of rushing to get them out to tables. My mum's tea also had a long black hair in it. Which wouldn't be hers, as she has short brown hair. Another lady made me a fresh batch of drinks. Which I waited at the counter for to take myself... These were both slightly warmer than the first pair. We kept these as we couldn't be bothered for a repeat and wait.

I enjoyed sitting in a rocking chair by the 'fire' and sipping my americano. The venue posseses aesthetic appeal and the atmosphere is pleasant, but it is not a specialty coffee shop. The emphasis in service is on pace, the origin information is hard to find, there were no light roasts available, and they focus on espresso drinks. Each of these characteristics is not, in and of itself, a bad thing, but they utilise the language and veneer of specialty coffee. I was disappointed this ploy succeeded in attracting my business, though the drink itself was acceptable.

Great atmosphere, good coffee awesome location. Right next to show hill so just far enough from the busy parts of the city, although it is busy depending on time of the day. But great alternative to the more commercial coffee ships. Just wish the fireplaces were real!

These is an amazing find for all coffee lovers and connoisseurs in or visiting Birmingham. The coffee shop itself is very stylish with a very cool urban, almost steam punk feel to the decor. The staff are friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and incredibly skilled as baristas. They have a full espresso bar available, as well as a variety of teas and milkshakes as well as providing oat and soy milk alternatives. For me the best part was their v60 brew bar. The coffee is incredibly made, well rounded and beautiful to drink. On top of this they also have a selection of lunch items, a selection of coffees and coffee equipment for sale and a barista school training centre located in their basement.

This could be 5 star if staff trained to provide warm welcome to everyone. I had a flat white, which was good, but I expected higher quality from a barista school. Therefore, expectations were not met. In summary, the coffee is good and the service is adequate. However, the customer service needs taking to the next level and I expect (from a barista school) to have great artwork on my coffee.

First impressions: - Arrived at 1pm was not too busy - Cosy atmosphere - Decent coffee - V60 - Food was okay - Bit pricy - Staff weren't not not that welcoming, didn't see one single smile to me or any other customer. But coffee was decent, was comfortable for me to grab my ipad and read a book comfortably

I've been to 200 Degrees a few times now, and while it's not my personal favourite coffee shop, I can definitely see why my partner enjoys their coffees. The place is always buzzing with activity, which is a testament to the quality of their coffee and service. However, I have to say that the staff can be a little hit and miss. Some are friendly and efficient, while others seem a bit disinterested or rushed. It's not a huge issue, but it can detract from the overall experience. Overall, if you're looking for a busy, bustling coffee shop with great coffee, 200 Degrees is definitely worth a visit. Just be prepared for a potentially mixed bag of service from the staff.

  • 4/5 Michelle C. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely adore 200 degrees for their dimmed, cosy atmosphere and that they close later than other coffee shops. If you have a sweet tooth, opt for their Spanish coffee. Service here is slightly slower than their New Street branch. Also, order at the counter, it’s faster. Their QR scan menu requires too much sign ups and info.

Great coffee shop! I hotdesk here sometimes and the atmosphere is great, staff are all friendly and the toasted almond croissants are unreal

So excited to write this review. I initially went here to take my first barista course and it did not disappoint. That same afternoon I came back to the cafe with my cousin for coffee and a sandwich. If you’re in Birmingham city center looking for a great coffee, I highly recommend you stop by 200 Degrees coffee shop. And if you want to learn how to make great coffee, go online and book a class. It’s an amazing 2 for 1 experience.

Young man took our order and explained the differences in the Espresso's and other options. He also cleared our table as we were leaving. Very capable, approachable and attentive. Would love to go back when in the area.

Always super busy when I’ve been but there’s a nice atmosphere. Drinks take a little while but taste good and they do great coffee art most of the time. Can order on the app and collect stamps, although do think it’s a tad pricey here!

Nice coffee shop. The coffee was delicious and the chocolate cake was yummy. It’s a pretty roomy place so you should probably get a seat. It was busy on a Saturday afternoon but we were able to secure a table.

Such a dynamic atmosphere. Great for a coffee date, client meeting, or to get your head down and study. You'll see a row of people with headphones on exuding productivity. A favourite spot to get stuck in when it's crunch time.

In my house we fight over the Brazilian Love Affair (yes, they sell beans with memorable names, which they will grind for you)...it tastes great in my bean to cup machine. I used to work near this place, so it was my local, but more importantly, they were the best tasting coffee around. I'll still pop in if I'm in the area. They consistently sell nice tasting coffee. ❤

This place is beautiful and the coffee is incredible, staff always polite so please don’t get this review wrong!!! Or be offended this is only feedback!!! however the time it takes to get a coffee is the biggest problem. Having to wait 10/15 min with one barista in a coffee shop of that size is the absolutely not on especially in the centre of the city where people are in a rush. This is not a sleepy town/city. Today I waited 10 min then left without a coffee and got a coffee elsewhere, I came back 7 min later in hope my coffee would have been ready. Only to be told the barista had 4 more orders … I couldn’t wait any longer and left without my drink. The aim of getting a drink out is extremely slow paced and too laid back. I get it that’s the vibe however get more staff or a better process of serving. Hopefully I will plan my trip next time with a 30/40 min free capacity time .

One of the best cafes in brum. Warm atmosphere, great coffee and good vibes. Staff are always welcoming and kind. Only problem is it’s so popular there’s often only a couple spaces left to sit!
