Club is okay at best, mega expensive for the dull atmosphere and average sound system, but it is London so expected. Worst of all - Door staff are weird, pervy and very rude. They'll pick and choose who they want to let through (women) and treat everyone else as the enemy. Power complex. So many better London clubs.

Staying in London briefly, I visited XOYO on my first night and had a good time. Being nearby the following night, I thought I would go again, but was told there is a no single entry policy. Any venue which still has this policy is worth one star. How can you meet people, whether you are a tourist or a local? I went to fabric instead, and met so many incredible people from around the world. If you want to have a great time and make friends, give XOYO a miss!

Was there for John Digweed/Bedrock day/evening disco dance. Loved it, wished I could go out bopping more. Big box little box, cardboard box

(BEWARE) Simply Avoid this place at all costs: Very Aggressive Bouncers/Rude Staff/Bartenders con you for tips. Very aggressive bouncers who threaten to assault customers. The staff as a whole are very rude and the venue itself is very badly run. Also, they have this new payment system, whereby the customer is unable to view how much their bill is. It's all done on an IPad sort device, and when making the payment you are unable to view how much the drinks actually cost. Because of this reason, the bartenders then add tips to each payment you are making. I noticed an extra £3.50 on the second round I had purchased and on the third another £4.00. Keeping in mind that I was ordering the same round of drinks each time, however I was getting spending alerts on my phone showing that I was spending more after every order. After asking the bartenders if they could show me their system to see how much the drinks cost, they got very rude and aggressive with me. I simply left this establishment and will never return again. Definitely keep away!

Fabulous All Inclusive Five Star Clubbing Experience. Falling over myself to know where to start, have been to this brill venue a number of times over the years, on so many levels you tick all my boxes. When celebrating my 63rd Birthday weekend and taking advantage of the Dalston Roof Park Saturday afternoon warm up combo ticket with XOYO, yet again I felt so comfortable in this no attitude venue, you so can be yourself by what you wear (more often personally very little!) and how you dance. To highlight just how inclusive, more recently I met Susan wearing a glamourous sequin dress, for eight years this 'lady' has been coming to the club with the full support of his wife. XOYO is one of the very few clubs that offers a DJ residency and is a great attraction, The Blessed Madonna and Dimitri From Paris have always blown me away. Offering two rooms with the main attraction downstairs (I love the raised stage where you can also boogie) this venue also has the added appeal of 'Less is more' some clubs which have multiple rooms is not always an advantage. The ground floor smaller room usually has an all night DJ, with plenty of chillout area seating, so often lacking elsewhere. Catching up with the fab HI-FI Sean in this room after so long was a great joy. DJ Joshua James an XOYO regular, your sets are mind blowing. With friendly security, lovely bar staff, terrific lighting and an imaginative events line up, well done!

The bouncer was incredibly rude and unprofessional, telling me I need to come back in half an hour because he watched me take a few sips of a drink not from the club, not even in the queue. Very aggressive and rude. Wouldn't come back again just because of this.

We went to Ram Records dnb party on Friday for my 35th Birthday celebration at XOYO and it was a terrific night out. From when we arrived we felt welcome and looked after by the excellent staff at the venue. It was a great atmosphere and good vibes all night, which is not always easy to find these days. The sound system was on point, the drinks were reasonably priced and all the facilities were clean and working well. We will definitely be coming back to the venue again soon and I highly recommend this place for a good night out.

Very easy to get to being a stone's throw from Old Street tube this venue is both a club and live music venue. Entry was well managed but seemed a little slow with the door staff being fine. Once in there all the normal amenities one expects. The bar downstairs only served beer in cans but was well staffed and service was quick and pricing was not outrageous. The sound is excellent but stage lighting is clearly designed to frustrate photographers. Went to see live music and the place is fine for this. Ample loos but no soap in any of the dispensers, this is basic stuff so one star knocked off.

The club is nice but bouncers are awful. I went there on my own and they told me it's against the policy to let me in alone. I asked why and that it didn't make sense as I'd paid for my entry ticket. They kept this up even when I asked are they pulling my leg. Then later admitted they are. I just didn't find this funny at all. Very unprofessional behaviour towards a customer.

Went for a gig at 9pm. Once it was over we got rudely kicked out. I barely managed to convince them to let me get my coat. Very unpleasant experience… expensive ticket for 1 hour, expensive drinks and rude staff. I don‘t recommend. There are so many nice places in Shoreditch that are free and more enjoyable than this 🤷🏼‍♀️

Bouncers asked me respectfully to answer all their questions, I went outside for a cigarette and they racially profiled me to leave the club. I was completely respectful to their request yet they said I was not allowed to enter, but other guards said I was okay to enter even though I listened to what they say. DO NOT ENTER IFYOU WANT THE CLUB TO DISCRIMINATE YOU FOR BEING ASIAN!

Kicked my friend out for being “drunk” even though she wasn’t, and let the guy she was outside with back in, even though he was worse for ware. Awful! Security were off their nut too, laughing at my friend being kicked out, there was a woman security guard too, laughing because of it. Definitely don’t care about the welfare of other women. Awful. They would’ve let her walk home alone if they could’ve. Not good in this day and age. Sort it out, especially that woman security guard on tonight. Imagine if that was your daughter.

TERRIBLE the venue seems nice and sound system average (i'm being nice here) but I wouldn't know, got kicked out in 30 mins of getting in. Drinks were so diluted it sucks. The bouncers were the worst!! they just give you attitude and mess with you like it's fun for them. There's this one guy who just made things rlly uncomfortable for a couple of girls that were in queue, just patronizing and cocky. The staff just seem like they hate their jobs, everyone from the bouncers, to bartenders to the cloak room staff to security people; they all would rather work some place else and i would rather party some place else too. lesson learnt, never going back.

Even with tickets we weren't allowed to enter the club yesterday with a manager shouting "I don't care, you are not coming in". So message heard: Don't go there. Ever.

Went to XOYO for NYE and was disappointed. Music was below average (it was the same beat on repeat). The basic double shot drink I got cost me £13. The bar service was also poor, it was a busy night as it was close to midnight and one of the three bartenders was on her phone behind the bar in clear view of the customers. The security to get into the club was like airport security with ticket checks (twice), ID checks (twice) and bag and person searches. They also chose who went in, who had to go through extra checks etc. as a female, I was allowed through without a second glance but other people (specifically men) had to go through extra checks. As soon as the timer went off for the new year, everyone wanted to leave. There was no system to collect coats and security was yelling at people to move out of the way of entrances even though there was no where to go. We had to wait more than thirty minutes to get our coats and the people working in the cloakroom didn’t seem to care or realise that there was a massive line. For all the security and poor service, the club wasn’t even as busy as what was expected on NYE. I wouldn’t recommend this club to anyone as XOYO was one of the worst club experiences I’ve ever had.

Our group of five had planned to spend New Year's Eve at the club. Unfortunately, after waiting outside for an hour, we were told it was full, and despite being promised a refund, our attempts to contact them have been unsuccessful, leaving us unsatisfied with the experience.

Awful experience! Security staff at the entrance were unnecessarily rude and aggressive. £25 entry at the door (£20 if you pay cash). £28 for 4 tequila shots in half size plastic shot cups. £9 for a tiny vodka with redbull which was mostly ice. £3 per item for cloakroom and they make you enter your phone number. Honestly wouldn’t even go again if it was free.

Great vibes, good music and amazing ambience. However, a bouncer was absolutely horrible and asked if I was going by myself, even though I had a ticket. I said that I have friends inside and he asked them to come and only let me enter the line once he saw them. Very racist/disappointing

The club itself is alright, not huge but not too crowded. Security at the club however is the worst I've seen so far. I saw security storm into a cubical and kick the guy out, just so they could use the cubical themselves, and this happened twice in one night. Definitely do not recommend the place if you're looking for good attitude.

Absolutely crazy fun filled night had here in XOYO! If you like dark clubs where you can really appreciate the music then this is the place you want to be. I went on a Saturday, security was friendly and they do a good search at the door so I felt like I'd be safe in there. Upon entering on the ground level you are greeted with a really dark bar where you can get a couple of drinks to get ready for the main event downstairs. It's super atmospheric with the ceiling covered in leaves and vines, almost like a tropical rainforest when the fog machine starts pumping. Lazers scan the area as you are introduced to music that helps you get into the zone. A couple of drinks later and you are allowed downstairs to the main area with the big DJs. Everyone in the club seemed like they were in a really good mood and the vibe was perfect. No bad vibes here. The main DJ set downstairs (too many DJs) blew my mind as the night went on. Superb crowd and good service, never had to wait long for a drink, either. Toilets were oddly clean and easy to get to without a queue when it was packed on the floor. Drinks where priced as you would expect from a club in London. Also if you need a breather there is a space upstairs to sit with friends for a chat and also an area outside for a smoke break. The place is kept clear of used drinks containers pretty quikly by staff so no tripping up on diagarded bottles ever step. So if you are considering a night out with friends I would whole heartedly recommend this club! Thank you to any staff member reading this, I am already planning my next visit!

Literally go anywhere else. Bouncers are rude, disrespectful to women and selective up to who fits the “vibe” of the club. Do better and spend your money somewhere worth your while. Music - unimpressive; atmosphere- subpar. Be sure to check out the many more convenient options in central London.

One of the most boring music (maybe jt was this night so) and one of the most boring environments. Nice people were there but the overall vibe of the club was a cut off. Had to get drinks just to don’t get too bored. I have seen last night so many people like trying to be strong and face the situation with energy. Something better is desiderabile

2 rooms and a bangin' sound system, love the deep base when you can feel it through your toes. The music changes regularly so know what you're going in for. The loos are tiny for 850 capacity and air circulation is poor in the main room (basement) but you can expect to get sweaty on a good night out! A word for the lads - keep your hands to yourself and ladies don't hesitate to tell security if the boys get too friendly, they are there to help. We all just want to have a fun night out.

We really did not feel safe here. Please sort out the security. There were two men sat on the edge of the stage, clearly visible to security, looking into the crowd. They did not dance, have any drinks or appear to be there for anything related to clubbing. Every now and then they'd meet in the middle, exchange words then go back to watching. It seemed extremely predatory. They appeared to be at least 30 years old, appeared completely sober and were wearing black Armani puffer jackets in the hot club. The men noticed that me and my friends were glancing at them warily, so the biggest one of them walked to the other then grabbed the closest of my friends to them by the shirt and they called security on us! We could not be sure whether or not they colluded with security, but they were not removed for their obvious aggression, or suspicious surveillance of the crowd. It was clear the men wanted us removed from the club as we had catched onto their behaviour. Unfortunately this event spoiled the evening. We were worried for the safety of our female friends and we promptly left.

If I could give this place -10000000 I would. Literally the worst club I’ve ever been to on all continents. They said range of music but it was only music with no beat and from 100 years ago. How do you have bad music in an entire club but charge £20. Even if I was drunk, high on heroine, acid and crack it would be horrible. And drinks were expensive but did nothing to help with the experience. Just incase you still wanna go this was me taking a nap in the club.

Good space with two floors so you can choose to have a relaxed boogie or an all out rave. Good array of drinks as well. Security is very OTT a lot of people being knocked back and no chance of getting back in if you've left. Probably a better fit for under 25's

Absolutely shocking security / venue mgmt staff. Manbag ban, backwards caps only, bursting through toilet cubicles if you take more than a few seconds to do your thing, god forbid you need a poo. Door staff were aggressive and wildly disrespectful upon arrival, unbelievably combative re: dumb venue rules -which by the way, not advertised when buying tickets for events at XOYO. If I'd known, I'd have worn something with pockets instead of clutching onto my belongings for dear life all night. It was £6 minimum for the flattest pint of lukewarm piss beer I've ever had the misfortune of consuming. The only saving grace of this venue were the acts they booked, literally everything else was a total shambles. XOYO sucks

Standard nightclub. Nothing better or worse than usual until it came to picking up coats from the cloakroom... It took an hour (no exaggeration - 68 minutes) to pick up our coats at the end of the night. What on earth are you doing. Please think. I won't come here again just because of this. It's not worth it.

Genuinely some of the worst crowd control I've ever seen at a club. We got here earlier than most of our friends at 11pm, but the line barely moved for over an hour and a half after we arrived. Got dangerous to the point that people were toppling over one another in the line while pushing to the front. And just to add insult to injury, the music inside was pretty terrible since the DJ changed songs every minute. If you have to queue 1+ hour for music this bad then it's 100% not worth.

Had a bit of a scary experience where I (a usual skeptic) thought I’d been potentially pricked with something as I had a weird mark on my arm. I went to the bar and the security and medic were so kind and helpful. Luckily it had just been some weirdo grabbing my arm and leaving a nail scratch like the medic on site had said but I just wanted to say I really appreciated the kindness and care I received

Booked 2 tickets online and arrived late because of the subway strike and delayed bus system. We were informed that doors closed at 2 but it was closed already at 1:30 because apparently the promoter decided to call it a night and go home. Security weren’t willing to let us go in and enjoy the last one and a half hours after we spent 3 hours just trying to get there and another 2 to get back to our hotel room. Most disappointing about our trip to the UK, still yet to receive a refund.

Warning : purchasing an ALL-Night ticket do not grant you access all-night, doors are closed at 2 AM. We managed to get in last minute and had a good night. Music is good on Pleasurehood nights (Saturdays). Crowd is below 25. Drinks are priced 13 euros.

Really expensive drinks from staff that clearly does not want to be here. Got tickets for Antigoni & Evangelia which were advertised to start at 6:30pm. When we got in it was still empty and only by the stairs it was displayed that it starts at 9pm. When asked if we can go somewhere for food and return we said we can not reenter. The only information displayed online and on the ticket was that it starts at 6:30pm. There was no timetable available online anywhere. Disappointing that they keep people so misinformed

1 - The sold tickets specifies the starting time on 9:30 but they didn't let anyone in until 10:45 because of a previous private party. Keeping people outside for over 1 hour! 2 - Overpriced drinks considering the level/type of the club. 2 cans of lager for £10. 3 - DJ was not great. 4 - Small, unclean toilets for gents, I had to queue up every time. Positives: 1 - Sound "Quality" was perfect. Not ear annoying nor too high. 2 - Cheap tickets and you can buy online easily

Proper London Drum and Bass. As an American visiting, showed up here and it seemed like the part was just getting started at 3am. Clearly a happening place, but luckily we knew someone to put us on a list. Seemed there was a huge line (or queue as the locals say) to get in. Pretty fun but wow.

Wicked little club, been for a couple of drum and bass nights which were both on fire, especially the Calibre residency in 2019. The main room was a proper sweat box but sound was good, just a bit over packed for my liking. Sound in the upstairs bar room area is also spot on.

I ve been going to xoyo regularly, on and off for 4 years now. They used to host good djs, have a nice atmosphere, attract a decent crowd, there to dance. I dont know what happened, but since the pandemic it has really gone downhill. They are now doing mostly rap nights during the week instead of techno/tech house/dnb/disco that they used to do. It attracts a very rough crowd, mostly drug dealers, or thirsty fellas. The security now will make up excuses and claim to not letting single guys in or that you re too drunk, but i know they are, i ve been going into there drunk and alone for years now! They claim you ll get a refund, but it ll never arrive, they ll taunt and bully you if you try again. It has sadly gone to my “blacklist”, will avoid it like the plague, and take my money, spend it elsewhere. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid…

Fun but expensive. Generally a good vibe, and the downstairs seemed to have a good sound system. However drinks were a bit expensive, and staff charged us different amounts for our drinks each time, and as other reviews have said they don’t show you how much they are charging you. Between £16-20 for two singles which is pretty steep. They let women in before men, even though we all had tickets.

We were visiting a charity concert for War Child here and the bouncers had no clue about the age limit of the night. We were turned away, aged 17 and with ID saying this, from a 14+ gig. They confiscated tickets and refused to be cooperative, laughing at us for coming to 'their club' when it wasn't a club night or even being organised by XOYO promoters and telling us to 'get off their street.' What should have been a great night in support of a great charity was ruined by the clueless staff. Will not be coming back.

The service and the Atmosphere was fine but I had a problem with people vaping in the club, with all these flavours and mixing together some of them make it almost toxic I can feel I’m breathing it in and it’s making me feel sick, I couldn’t even enjoy my drink. In most nightclubs security will tell people if they want to smoke or vape they should do it outside, security did not do it here if XOYO doesn’t have a vape policy they need to make one for health and safety.

Went for the “your mums house” event. Good vibes good music. The event was a little small and I’m like 90% the jägerbombs were watered down. But other than that a really solid place to be.

We went to the Student Night and it was soo good. It was Hip Hop Night and the music was great. The staff were super friendly and helpful and really good prices, especially for the entry. I don’t understand the negative reviews and really enjoyed the night.

Started the night very well, security was very warming and friendly, felt very safe, but I have to point out the black female manager, sorry I did not get her name, but she is a new manager and you can see there has been big changes from the last time I came.Overall a great experience and will highly recommend to my friends.

There are much better clubs in London. Some of the staff were nice but most now really. Pay £5-10 more on other clubs and it's more likely that you will enjoy your night out

Once we had qued to get in we then had to que to inside to see the artist we had paid to see on one in one out basis as they had clearly oversold tickets. Security were always hovering around you and even bashed down the door of the toilet while my partner was sat on the loo with her knickers down and demanded to search her. One to avoid!

The best club so far in my trip to London.amazing músic. From the minute we got in we feel welcome. The bouncer, the Door girl, bar staff was friendly and fast, we did not Walt long to be served.

We went to Duskys friday night residency. The sound system is good, the main room is bouncing but the techno was boring so we went upstairs in the green room for some disco house - this is a good club and well worth a visit. If you like D&B I think they put some sick nights on here.

Great underground club, awesome dj's, sound is amazing, staff are friendly and the security don't make your life horrible. Love the weekend club nights, the techno events and the drum and bass events but I don't go during the week as it's student nights. No suits and no pretentious people just the crew the loves the music. They host live gigs - favourite one is the history of drum and bass.

The setting is very nice, but the music is very commercial. I recommend it for students that want to meet some people, but jot for music connoisseurs. And it’s very expensive.

Came all the way from Bristol for a Crucast night. Skipping a paragraph-worth of emotions - What. A. Night! Loved the layout of the club, the interior, the sound and the staff. Easy cloakroom service, bartenders that know what they’re doing and a nice pair of free earplugs. One of the best nights in a while. The only note - calm your doormen. I fully understand the stress of their job, but there’s a difference between attentive and patronizing.

I would give them 0 stars if we could. We arrived at 11:30 with pre purchased tickets. They refused to let us in claiming we were to drunk (we weren't drunk in the slightest) and resorted to intimidation tactics and talked down to us. We finally obliged and came back in 20 minutes. The guards came back and instead of letting us in proceeded to make us wait a little bit longer. We don't know what the issue was but the security guards treated us horribly before we were even let in.

Had another excellent night at XOYO! I come all the way from the wilds of west West Wales for Drum and Bass events here. Been coming for years, but last summer it was for the Goldie residency - wicked! Last weekend it was classics of DnB played by a 16-piece orchestra! Have to give a big shout out to Russ and all the Security Crew who not only helped me find my lost iPhone, but also held on to my treats for me while I partied away inside - never rude and ever helpful. The band was ON FIRE! The lead singer was infectiously effervescent, with a sweet and powerful voice, and that poor, poor drummer - 180bpm… - deserves a medal. Thank you XOYO for your dedication to holding innovative and legendary DnB events. Can’t wait for more. Big Ups!!

  • 1/5 Sofia Z. 2 years ago on Google
I would give 0 stars if possible. I bought 5 tickets worth 30£ in total and once we arrived at the club the guys out there REFUSED TO LET US IN claiming that one of us was “ too drunk” (we didn’t drink anything before going there and were not planning to). Awful service, would not suggest anyone to plan anything there. It’s such a shame that Lowercase events provide their events in this clubs because it’s a HUGE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

Nice relaxed easy going venue. Cloakroom absolute disaster not at all for the sake of the assistants it on their own they did their best. & £3 per item feel slightly bumped. As well near on £5 each for water - complete joke especially if you don’t drink alcohol. Could have done with some more toilets too. Apart from that the security were firm but fair and found them polite and friendly.

There was a Student Night party, it was very good until Dj has decided to give his mic to some people to sing like all same vibe of the music. I believe it put everyone a little bit down. Beside that good price drinks and nice quality of music

  • 3/5 Mark McCormick L. 2 years ago on Google
It was a decent nightclub. Didn't really play type of music I typically listen to but it was still a lot of fun. That said, some of the security is absolutely terrible and will treat you horribly because of the little power they have over the night. That all said this place rating goes down because of poor security. This is not for all security by the way only a select few.

DJ Hype residency was brilliant on week 2 13th Jan 2023! But man, XOYO you have a problem with sleezy guys - touching, videoing the girls on their phones, getting way too close and not taking no for an answer. That was not what any of us expected at a DnB night…. Friday night predatory scum bags need to get barred. Great lineup but we won’t be going there again - those kind of people shouldn’t be at a DnB night, or anywhere really.

This place is amazing. Had a beautiful night with friends. Staff were really good and friendly but the only issue here is after 2pm smoking zone 🚬 gets closed. I don’t no why but this is want it is. Thank you guys until next time ✌️

  • 3/5 Lindsey D. 11 months ago on Google
I like the space and thought the sound system sounded good. But I agree with the other reviews. The security is on some weird power trip. They also don't let you see the price when you tap the card, which annoys me. My first drink was £17 for two singles. So the lady bar staff decided to give herself tip. Bit shady in general.

  • 2/5 Annie Di T. 10 months ago on Google
Music + vibes were good. They handed out free vapes and said people could vape in the venue, but people took this as being able to smoke and the security didn't enforce any health and safety regs against this - I am asthmatic and had to leave early as I couldn't breathe very well, which is a shame as it was a good time otherwise. Cheap drinks.

  • 4/5 Cameron C. 7 months ago on Google
Super cool underground club, loved the set up and atmosphere, drinks were a little weak and small for the price but that's a club for you. Definitely look at who is playing before you commit to paying the cover as they have all types of artists and that really changes the experience.

If you are a group a girls looking for a great party/dj set please don't go there it's not secure at all. I'm used too night club and they are a lot of strange guys, we were physically touched many times. The sound is really bad and they were like 20 people in the club so they let enter many strang guys to make their money.....awfull

We booked our tickets beforehand for our friend’s birthday party; we queued for almost an hour but, unfortunately, no one was able to get in and were all sent away because their “ticket reading machine was not working”. It’s really a shame. No warning whatsoever before we got to the door.

The staff at XOYO really need a reality check. People are paying to have a lovely night out, and are faced with a power trip. The staff are fuelled by authority. I was nothing but nice to them and was given nasty and patronising attitude. Verbal assault and condescending responses were given not only by the bouncers but also by the actual manger! Shocking. So unclassy and rude. You would think that a successful club in London would be run by switched on, intelligent people. Absolutely not. Never going back again. So disappointed.

I bought a ticket before the venue when I arrived the doorman said I can’t come in because I have only one ticket and the policy says they let only two ticket holders I tried to talk with a manager who was super cocky and absolutely not understanding about my situation and the fact I didn’t scroll down to read that I have to come with someone who has a ticket. I met two other people on the way who didn’t have tickets purchased tickets for them and it was still not enough to let me in because they said I have to know these people also! The policy doesn’t say that by the way. They still didn’t let me in so I ended up buying 3 tickets for nothing. Super rude and absolutely ridiculous especially the manager I spoke with. I will never go there again and I will make sure nobody will because of the way I was treated. Absolute rubbish.

The Google reviews put me off going to the club a bit, but as I had my place (jungle cake) I went anyway! First of all, we were greeted by the security team (did being foreign help? I don't know). Having nothing to reproach myself for (alcohol/drugs), the evening went very well. Drinks are pretty expensive, but I suppose that's how it is in most London clubs. Special mention to the sound in the large room, which was well-balanced and (very) powerful, making it ideal for bass & jungle music. For geeks, the room is equipped with void acoustics.)
