Absolutely gorgeous food, service and staff are so friendly. We loved our meal here. Our son was very taken with the staff, especially Ivy. All our food was delicious. We had nachos, bao buns(warning, very spicy and we can handle spice 😂) to start with. Our one year old had the garlic bread with mac and cheese from the kids menu. My partner had the fish burger with fries and mac and cheese. The most realistic mock fish we've tried in 9 years. I had the mock chicken and bacon burger with fries and mac and cheese. It was very tasty. We were too stuffed for desserts. My only critism would be the ribs have been taken off the menu. We were gutted, we came from London to finally try the food, we met the owners 6 years ago and kept meaning to come. The ribs looked amazing online and had my heart set on them. We will be back either way. Thank you for a delicious meal with a lovely ambience.

Went in Summer, amazing food. Looks great, new things I hadn't tried before so a fun experience. Unfortunately, I inquired if it was wheelchair accessible when I'd like to return with a wheelchair user but was told there is no ramp. So it is not accessible.

Absolutely stunning restaurant! Travelled over an hour to try this place and it was well worth it. The service from the moment we stepped into this beautifully decorated place was fantastic. We were enjoying our drinks and ordering food within 10 minutes of sitting down. Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere and great food....not much more you could want whilst out for a meal.

Food was absolutely amazing, even my partner, who isn't vegan, enjoyed it. The Bao buns were delicious, and I was so happy to see "Calamari" on the menu. It's something I've really missed since going vegan, and it was brilliant, very similar to the real thing. We will definitely return :)

Absolutely fantastic food. The range of options on the menu is brilliant, something for all tastes. The portion sizes are well worth the money. The staff were spot on, not over attentive, but enough to make you feel like they value your custom. Considering it is 100% vegan, it's priced very competitively too. Four of us ate here, and we all cleared our plates. If you are not local, it's worth the travel.Thank you once again for proving that vegans dont just eat grass🤘💚

One of our favourite vegan restaurants! We love it here. The menu is mouth-wateringly extensive and varied. The food is always of a high quality and tastes delicious. There is a nice selection of drinks too and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Never had a bad meal here and we will keep coming back! Dogs are also allowed. 🐾

Epic! Amazing food. Very flavoursome. As a non-vegan was blown away at how good the food tasted. Definitely the place to go if you want to sample what a vegan lifestyle may have to offer. Whatever you have make sure you leave room for a dessert!

First of all such a wide range of dishes from different cuisine! All Vegan - Yey!! We had Potato Bravas for starters it was really nice. Lasagna was delicious. Burger was kind of a hit and miss for me as I wasn’t fond of the sauce. The absolute star of the show was the Warm Apple Pie with vanilla ice cream. It was simply glorious. I would return just for that desert. Staff was really friendly. I would rate 4.5/5 just because the sauces were a little rich but if you are looking for indulgence this is the place for you.

Really friendly helpful staff. Had 2 burgers here both were spectacular. Absolutely love the interior and garden. Don't know how some people complain about the price, it's very good value for money and completely guilt-free, what more could you. Will definitely be returning.

Absolutely lovely! My mum, wife and I just turned up without booking and the wonderful staff were incredibly accommodating. This was our first time at Oak Tree and I must admit we enjoyed ourselves immensely. A lovely Sunday treat! Highly recommend!

The food here is so good! We’ve been a couple of times with Omni relatives & even they enjoyed it. My partners dad literally didn’t believe his dessert was vegan (we tried to explain the concept of the restaurant a few times, not sure he understood “chorizo” wasn’t really pork chorizo). In any case we are happy to drive 45 minutes to come for a treat here & leave with very fully bellies. The only thing I wish they’d change is to offer fruit milkshakes as they have such a wide range of plant milks but seem to only really offer iced coffee or chocolate drinks. Also the recent partnership with dough-yos donuts for one of the dessert left my partner like that “wafer thin mint” monty python scene but it was totally worth it.

We went here last week and had an amazing meal the food was really good and it was nice to have such a wide range of choice and choices that I haven’t seen widely elsewhere. My kids weren’t a huge fan of the cheese options (macaroni cheese and cheesy garlic bread) I THINK it was made heavily with nutritional yeast which has quite a distinctive flavour? The reason I give such a lower set of stars is purely the service we received that day. Initially we were welcomed straight away and everything was great. Once our mains were served it seemed like we had been forgotten. The restaurant had newcomers and we were sat with our plates for what was an annoyingly long time. Another family had their starters taken, served, and removed by the time our empty plates were still sat there. The waitresses never glanced at us and in the end I asked my husband to flag someone down as our children were getting bored. No one apologised for the wait When my husband asked if we could order pudding. About 10 minutes later a waitress approached our table stating we needed to leave by 6pm ( another ten mins) as they needed the table back (we were booked in for 4 so that just goes to show how long we were waiting around) I told her that we were still waiting for our puddings to be served which we were waiting along time for still. Again no apology and she said ok and walked off. Our puddings came (one was wrong) and the rest of the meal was rushed and just felt really uncomfortable as other guests were arriving and it was clear the waitresses had nowhere to sit them. I think the waitresses were to keen on taking the orders of new comers and forgot about the rest of us sat there. Another couple also walked out at one point. Massive shame as I would of liked to of revisited but our meal just had such a downer on it all by the end!

Managed to win the latest Facebook competition and was so excited to return to the Oaktree. The food did not disappoint and as always, there was a great variety of dishes on the menu. We sat in the garden which was lovely and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our free meal and will be back again soon. A big thank you to the Oaktree! 🍷🍽🌱

I looooove The Oak Tree Restaurant so much!! This time I had the Bao Buns and Surf and Turf with the new Redefine '3D printed' meat and it was incredible!!! The atmosphere is always welcoming and cosy and the staff are super super lovely! 10000% recommend!!

This place is amazing; food perfect, service impeccable. I've been a veggie for 35 plus years, I've eaten in many differing vegetarian restaurants and this is truly the greatest food I've been served. Only criticism would be the stools we were sat on were a little uncomfortable for me, having short legs I suppose! Can't wait to return.

First vegan restaurant we've been to. Good selection of dishes and lot's of realistic looking/tasting meat substitutes. Even the 'prawns' looked good in the surf n turf. I had the tofu salad which was a good portion and sauce was tasty and not too spicy. Had dessert after - recommend the hazelnut chocolate cake, was massive! Also very soft and nice icing. There's a small courtyard which is nice in the good weather.

Second visit to Oak Tree, which was great. The staff were very friendly, attentive and accommodating (thanks for the menu option swap). The food was really good and we were happy with all three courses. "Mushroom" I would always recommend and would always have. The "Steak" was convincing and tasty. The "Sundae" dessert also hit the sweet spot, but the "Chocolate" was immensely good!

Love coming here! Food is always delicious, and has a lovely atmosphere. Plus being dog friendly is a huge plus!

I called to check the restraunt was open before looking on deliveroo, as it had been closed throughout the week, so I was please when young lady answered the phone, and confirmed the were open and delivering, to which point I payed the restraunt a compliment but in return was rushed off the phone as if I was in the way, even my family heard it in the back ground and said "we wont be paying them compliments again" needless to say I won't be ordering from the Oak Tree again.

Visited the first time. Food is delicious. Be careful of prawn linguini as it is spicy, had it today but waitress didn't tell me it was spicy. But a really nice ambience too to the restaurant

First visit here, brought by my vegan daughter & her partner. As non vegans, we were a bit sceptical about the menu, but what we finally decided on was absolutely delicious... The starter being one of the best I've ever had! The staff were so friendly & happy to explain the dishes & even brought a dish of water for my daughter's dog without being asked. I particularly loved the decor & the friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely one to revisit.

Keen to impress my friends and family with a healthy vegan meal in a beautiful part of Essex, this place was sure to do the job. Nine of us were welcomed in by a young and attentive waitress who served us throughout the evening. The menu is simple yet varied; offering pies and pad Thai to mixed mezze and Mac n 'cheese'. I personally chose (arguably the best dish on our table) the Tofu stir fry which packed a pleasant punch amidst crunchy fresh vegetables and those sacred few chunks of Tofu. My fellow diners opted for the Thai Satay curry, pie and mash, Mediterranean lasagne, Greek salad and a few starters to moisten the pallet - all creating a satisfied silence followed by defeated slump in the chair; beaten by the generous servings before us. An overall excellent dining experience at a reasonable price proving that 8 meat eaters can enjoy a plant-based meal and feel completely satisfied! ?

2nd visit here and I'll be coming back.

We went to The Oak Tree for the first time last week and had a lovely experience. Firstly, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic. The Mac and cheese was soooo good! The menu is really varied so I would say you would find something to suit anyone. There were plenty of safety measures in place in response to Covid, spaced out tables, paper menus, staff cleaning and hand sanitiser at the entrance. I would 100% return!

Been here a number of times and it’s always good food at a fair but a little on the steep side price. However, it’s great value on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday on their offer nights. Truth is though the food is good enough to warrant the price. Dog friendly and nice interior decor. Got a bit of an upmarket feel to it.

Fantastic tasty food, for those people who eat meat: with some of the dishes, such as the prawns, you'd be hard pressed to know they were vegan! Would definitely eat here again.

Really creative and delicious vegan alternatives to old favourites. Loved it and would recommend to all.

The food was good and very enjoyable but service was slow. The wine glasses were cloudy and smelt which was not nice and detracted from being able to enjoy our wine as each time you took a sip you were met with an awful aroma. One starter came out but we had to wait for another 5 minutes or more for other to be served, by which time the first plate was getting cold. There was no cutlary on the table bar a couple of spoons. When requesting knives and forks, the forks were taken from another table and the waiter went to get our knives but never returned with them. We ended up eating with forks and spoons which was ok as we were eating pasta but still not the service expected considering the price we paid for our meal. Overall the food was good and tasty, and we had a good selection of dishes to chose from. The wine was nice and paired well with the food and the staff were polite. We would recommended on the basis of the food but the service needs to be better and more attention paid to the small details as it was these that let the restaurant down. The Oak Tree has good potential in a niche market but lacked the polish of other restaurants in the local area.

Amazing food and lovely staff. Had the seitan chicken and bacon burger, and my mum had the katsu curry which looked so good!

Ordered a takeaway not expecting much but the fantastic portions, great take away packaging and delicious food was a delight. Good value for money too. Would recommend this to anyone and next time i visit Southend i will be sure to try the desserts and i stupidly did not order any.

Delicious. I had garlic mushrooms with wilted spinach on toast and a coffee obviously made with Soya milk, the top was an inch thick and lovely and creamy! Will definitely will go there again.

The chai latte was served cold and with so much cinnamon that I could almost chew it! For starters, we ordered nachos which were fine. However, the Thai curry was completely flavourless. I left my plate full. My friend ordered linguini and was not impressed either.

Overall, we had a really nice meal here tonight. There's a good variety of food on the menu, great choices for drinks and desserts and it's a wonderful atmosphere inside. My family and I were blown away by the quality of food we were served and were shocked that it wasn't real meat; such a nice surprise as we've had vegan food in the past that didn't have much flavour, whereas tonight we were thoroughly impressed. I'd highly recommend the 'hot dog' as I haven't had a real one in years and couldn't believe how similar it tasted to the real thing! Would definitely recommend a visit as it's a great alternative to some of the other choices in the area! :)

We visited for Christmas Dinner, Sunday 22nd December 2019. Wow! The meal was amazing! Best Christmas Roast I've had for a very long time. Easily the best since we went Vegetarian (then Vegan). All the components were delicious. Only shame was some elements were not as hot as they could be. Time to invest in a heated pass :). Food was all warm though so this didn't detract from the meal. The live music added another level to the meal. It was by far our most enjoyable excursion this year. Thankyou.

Both times I've visited the service has been good. The hotdog is really nice (for those that arnt Vegan/Vege) not too expensive and there seems to be parking most of the time. All round really nice place to eat. Edit after a subsequent visit. Their cheesecake is AMAZING. ?

One of the places I miss most during these enforced lockdowns. Always have new dishes to try, a decent selection of wine/beer and friendly staff, I'm not a full time Vegan but have never been less than satisfied with the food served here. Keep it u guys 👍

Been to this place 3 times now ever the past few years. I've gotta say the first time was really good with what felt like proper vegan options with thought put into them, second time was slightly more average. This time I was disappointed, it felt like they were serving the same caliber food as what you'd find as the vegan option at a meat-serving establishment. They need to go back to proper wholesome vegan health food rather than what they are doing now. I seem to remember they had better drinks options as well. Giving it 3 stars rather than 2 because it used to be good and deserves that merit.

Visited today with my friend the food was incredible and the service was fabulous and the ambience was great. We didn't have a booking but were given a table in the garden which was beautiful. I live in London and this has to be the best vegan restaurant I've ever visited definately check it out if your in the area. The only thing I would say is that the meze was really small, 2 falafels (tasted like couldren falafels) and a few bits of flatbread and olives and small portion of houmous was a big steep for £8 but saying that I will be returning and happy to make the journey for great food and service!

Came with my friends last week. Food took a little long to arrive considering it was empty when we arrived but it all tastes great. Really nice to see they give a Mac and cheese along with the fries and burger. Starters were on point as well.

Came here for a date with my boyfriend before the second lockdown, and they had put little felt hearts on the table which was a lovely special touch. Not only was there a good selection of different foods to suit everyone's taste buds, but the food is so delicious (and their wine!). Will definitely be coming back once they reopen, hopefully in time for my birthday!

A fabulous meal for our anniversary. (Hearts sprinkled on out table. 😁) Great service. The autumn casserole was wonderful and a great choice for a rainy autumn night. We loved both the creamy mushrooms and nasi goreng to start, so tasty. We are already looking forward to our next visit soon.

My family ordered a meal for my birthday recently and I could not have been more impressed. The menu is fairly expansive and the items are very reasonably priced. Ordered from home due to the pandemic yet delivery was inconceivably quick, and food was of supreme quality. I soon made the welcome realisation that I'd ordered about enough for 2 whole meals, so I microwaved the leftovers the next day and, to my delight, they still tasted exquisite. Flavours were distinct, robust, and elegant, and in cases where flavours were designed to imitate things like meat or cheese, very convincing, too. As a vegan, I could breathe a sigh of relief and satisfaction in having found such great food that I could actually eat and a local restaurant that I could feel proud to support. Incase it isn't already abundantly clear, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, vegan or otherwise, whatever the occasion. Thanks for making my birthday that much better!

As one of only a few purely Vegan restaurants around the Leigh area The Oaktree has rapidly become the 'go to' venue. It provides good food and good service and makes you feel at home straight away.

OK food. Expensive for what it is. Had meal under Eat out to help out scheme and asked to take our deserts home. Was told that we would have to pay full price if we take home, but on receipt they just doubled the amount of deserts so we paid full price, but put the scheme under each item on the bill. Obviously claiming back from govt and us. Left with a bitter taste and will not go back. Shame as normally spend £120 a time when we go there. Short sighted from the owner.

This was the first time dining here and we weren't disappointed. Its great to be able to go to a restaurant and not be limited to vegan options. There was a nice and relaxing atmosphere in the restaurant, all tables were filled in the area we were sitting but there was plenty of distance between us all. The staff were friendly and considering the amount of diners in there, the food came out quickly. All of our food was delicious and none of it lacked flavour. My husband isn't vegan but commented on how much the pie filling was like chicken and how nice it was. We both had 3 courses and spent sub £40. Will definitely be returning.

Delicious! Very cute fully vegan restaurant with a garden at the back. We ate the beef teriyaki and the giant battered sausage with fries & mac and cheese. All super tasty. Friendly staff and very clean. We took our dog with and she approved the mac and cheese. 😋 Someone else mentioned in their review that the staff isn't coming by the tables enough, I personally prefer how they do it here. It's annoying to have someone constantly asking you how things are. This is a relaxed place, don't expect to be treated like royalties, just enjoy the food and vibe! 💚

Great restaurant for mixed diet families. Half of us are vegetarian, so this is perfect - there's no meat in sight, but you wouldn't know it from the menu. I had the chilli dog, my wife had the 'chicken' katsu. Flavours were great. Brilliant service. We've eaten both indoors and in the garden. Give it a try!

VISIT THIS RESTAURANT!! We have just had a fantastic meal. Every dish was sooooo tasty. I ate the nasi goreng rice fries and the loaded fries. They were spectacularly tasty.

Lovely vegan restaurant. So nice to be able to choose whatever we like from a menu. We had the delicious "salmon and cream cheese" bagels in the garden.

Still the best vegan restaurant in South East Essex. The meals are varied, inventive, well prepared and well presented. My youngest son is vegan, so he has a wide choice of menu and I really enjoy it too.

So delicious! They had a Xmas menu and I got the Vegan ‘Chicken’ Katsu Curry. I feel like this is usually hit and miss but they got everything right! The ‘chicken’ was made with Seitan and it was definitely very realistic. Staff was v friendly too, I will be returning.

Absolutely delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere paired with a lovely and welcoming service. Went with my parents and the restaurant definitely made our evening. There where so many options for us as vegeterians that it was hard to choose just one dish and upon arrival the food was fresh and well cooked and seasoned. The apple crumble was amazing and came with some biscuits on the side which I found to be a really sweet gesture. Definitely will be coming back! :)

I've been to these restaurant many times, food was nice. However this time I have experienced completely different, the food was cold, very small potions and my paratha was completely burned and there is no apology after my complaint. My replacement paratha was still raw dough in the middle.

We have been vegan for 3 years and have eaten at many vegan restaurants, this is the best one I’ve ever been to. Dishes we haven’t had for years we are suddenly able to eat again such as prawns and calamari. Amazing, highly recommend!
