**Edit** Staff have changed over the past year and now they have a new menu. Good but overpriced for what it is. After learning how music acts are treated in this venue- £50 between a whole band and charged for having a merch table - Im less inclined.. Love this place! Really unique vegan asian tapas-style grub - be an adventurous eater when you come here and you won’t be disappointed!

This used to be one of my absolute favourite places to eat, despite not even being vegetarian or vegan. But the recent menu changeover was a bit puzzling and a drastic change. I love Mexican food so I was hopeful but the food itself just didn't grab me too much I like the new layout and the additional beers in the beer fridge was great but I just can't get over how good, unique and well priced the food was before, compared to now, it sadly isn't close to those 3 qualities.

The highlight of my visit was to Glasgow! The food was delicious, the food was asian inspired and super authentic. The staff was very nice and helpful, the place itself was really cool and the music also super nice. Thank you for the amazing experience ✨💖

Was here to hear Gasper Nail who is from Malawi with a group of friends great little venue, not sure what his instrument was, he was joined for some of the time by his manager on guitar

Loved it here! All vegan Bar-style place with downstairs band room. Delicious small Asian tapas style dishes to share. The waitstaff was great and gave good recommendations. The garlic greens were particularly tasty!

Nice enough place that was decorated well. The bar staff were nice but I felt they could have been a bit more friendlier, but they weren't unpleasant at all. We didn't order food as we were there for a gig but I noticed that in the open kitchen the chef was heating up portions of food in the microwave before it was presented to the table. Nobody that was eating seemed to mind but I just thought if I was going for a meal I would prefer for it to be freshly cooked. The drinks were very expensive and I was a bit shocked at the price. The downstairs venue was good for the gig but I could imagine it would be very cramped if sold out. They had painted the door and some wooden boxing around the room. It did have signs saying wet paint but it was hard to avoid and the girlfriend ended up with paint on her jeans. Great gig but I wouldn't go back and definitely not for food and drink.

I recently visited the Hug and Pint for the first time [07/02/24] for the GhostWoman gig. The upstairs bar has a wide selection of mullets and moustaches. It also serves alcohol and vegan food. The toilets are clean. The staff are friendly. And vice versa. The downstairs venue is small. The sound was good. There are also tables outside which might be enjoyable if it wasn't a February night in Scotland. I thoroughly enjoyed my night out and would recommend this venue.

DELICIOUS! The food was soooo good. I shared a rice, black fungus (tastes way better than sounds) greens, peanut tempeh (favorite plate), and miso mushroom. Good size for 2 people. The flavors were amazing. The staff was so nice! Great recommendations and so kind. Would love to go here again. Tasty vegan food. You won’t miss any animal products!

Pretty much my dream place, incredible, delicious plant based dishes, super filling, brilliant craft beer, great decor, lovely staff, clean, cool, small. Highlight of Glasgow for sure.

Innovative, vegan, pan-Asian, small plates sharing menu. Not at all what the name suggests! Food was really tasty. Some of the dishes tasted quite similar but that was the choices that we made! The aubergine was my favourite (can’t recall the exact name of the dish) There is a bar and open seating area on the first level and an events area in the basement. Ambiance was quite hip and alternative.

Cozy establishment with reasonable selection of drinks, sadly the menu is so overpriced for tiny bland portions. Food very mediocre and the whole place is just missing the real vibe, never mind bored staff members not able to bring more than one plate / one drink at the time. Sadly, cannot recommend

Absolutely not a gig venue. It’s a large corridor to the bathroom that happens to have a 30cm-high step just wide enough for drums. AC either doesn’t work or isn’t sufficient. Sound is terrible for bands. If you think the room is at capacity, then about 30 more people are going to walk in if it’s sold out. Cramped swampy room with customers coming in for the bathroom every 5 minutes (door was slamming shut SO much at a acoustic-y gig earlier this year..). Have had cheaper tickets at nicer venues in Glasgow!

Was in at the weekend for a gig. And must say I was very happy with the place, being Coeliac I liked that they have a range of gluten free food and drink. I even talked to the chef, kitchen is adjacent to the bar, and he and the rest of the staff seemed full understand food allergens. Will be back

Tiny wee gig space underneath Great Western Road with a fine selection of beers upstairs. Seen a few great bands in this place. The food always smells great as the kitchen is right next to the bar when getting served but haven't eaten there as yet.

One of the great small venues and places to eat in Glasgow. Good selection of beers, I love that they have a tiny menu of great food that they change, when we were there we had chickpea curry with jasmine rice, daal and potato bits. All of it was really top rate!

Dark and cozy, my kind of gig venue 🥳🥳🥁🎸

Bloody marvellous. Staff super genuine and friendly. General decor and vibe of the place really fun and welcoming. Cracking little venue downstairs with a strong selection of local music, vitally reliant on small venues like this. Really nice selection of local beer and a small but bold menu of reasonably priced vegan Asian food. The tenderstem satay was excellently seasoned and thoroughly satisfying. Only tiny critique would be please swap in some paper menus instead of QR codes. But that’s just a personal thing. Will deffo be back. Give these people your money.

Went for a pub quiz….with guide dogs and FOR GUIDE DOGS! That’s right—doggies!!! Emcee was great, cocktails were superb (and affordable! such a relief) and the spicy cashews made a great bar snack. Good vibes all around. Totally recommend.

The place to be if you wanna eat a really great meal, healthy and various in texture and taste. The guys are really good, the service is great, fast and always done with a smile. Highly Recommended

We had a lovely evening here. Super friendly staff, nice atmosphere and amazing food! I'm still dreaming of the aubergine dish (can I have the recipe?). I am not vegan at all, but I could eat this food absolutely everyday. Loved loved loved it!

Came here on a Saturday evening for food without a reservation, we were lucky that a window table was available for us, however, the window table was a little narrow for us with people standing at the bar right behind. I would have preferred to wait by the bar till a table became available if that was an option. The food was incredible, served quickly and so fresh! It was hard to choose what to get, I felt spoiled for choice but the waitress was very helpful and made some recommendations for us. Definitely worth returning to try more.

You want some of the best vegan food in Glasgow? A class wee venue for intimate gigs? Great drinks and chat with dead friendly staff? It’s allllll here

Popped in for a quick drink after a meal out. Great selection of beer and spirits. The food smelled amazing! If I hadn't have just eaten, I'd have tried something here. Will be back to check out the food at some point!

I was here for a gig so can't comment on food (I'm also not vegan) but a great venue for an intimate gig - I think the capacity downstairs is 100? Well stocked bar, nice staff and 2 minutes away from St George's Cross underground station. It's pretty small and I'm not sure if you need to book but if you're keen to go you might want to do that. The food however smelt great so may take a trip back and try it!!

Probably the tastiest food in Glasgow. Forgot it was vegan (not that I've got anything against vegan food, but hopefully you know what I mean). Really super nice and accommodating staff too. Highly recommended. They also have an amazing live music programme in the venue downstairs. Enjoy!

Some of the best vegan food in Glasgow and a fantastic pub and a nice wee venue downstairs. The place has a lot of history with the artists that have played there and is an important place in the history of the west end.

Can't fault the staff, professional and attentive. The Lager was the usual price for Glasgow / West End. The food was OK but that's it. It might be a good place to go of a night and for a gig but only popped in for food and a pint.

The food was fantastic. Great place for sharing vegan plates. The mushrooms and miso sauce are tasty and lovely, also really loved the sweet soy and coconut tempeh. Service was quick and friendly. Drygate beers on tap, including Disco forklift which is great 👍

Nice Food! Somehow, ours was way too spicy but I think it was an exception; very fresh, healthy and vegan food. I can recommend the aubergine meal! Awesome! Thank you!

Went here on a whim, and I am so glad we did! The food is so good. We decided to order every dish and doggy bag the leftovers. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Since it was a Saturday night there were definitely pub / party vibes going on, it’s a nice and buzzing place with lots of young people and SUPER fairly priced food and drinks.

Went down for a gig and decided to have dinner there too. Food is all veggie friendly and has an Asian inspired menu. Well priced, good portions and tasty. Gig space downstairs is compact and basic but ideal to see an intimate gig. Band were excellent too.

First visit to this great little venue. Bar service very good, but I was slightly disappointed that some of the craft beers on tap were not available. However the barman was very good at recommending some tasty non alcoholic beers for my colleague who was driving. Great atmosphere in the packed venue downstairs, which had a great sound thumbs up to the sound guy. Shame that you couldn't get drinks downstairs as it was a bit of a trek (and wait) for drinks upstairs. The food was highly recommended by others including one of the bands, so I will definitely return to try that out.

Roll over traditional pub grub, the Hug & Pint has you beat. Such interesting and flavoursome Asian vegan dishes! Reasonable prices and great for sharing, I only [selfishly] wish they were in Edinburgh as well! Lovely wee gig space downstairs too, if you go for a gig take the time to dine first.

This is a great music venue. The food is always amazing and the general atmosphere is great. I do find the drinks to be very expensive however, almost £6 a pint which is why this review isn’t 5 stars

Great little basement gig venue, decent beer. Only negative is the vocals microphone is always set too low at any gig I've been to for support bands in here and can hardly hear the singing until main act comes on.
