Lovely vegan restaurant. Only popped in for a coffee but had to have a dessert. Will definitely be going back for a main meal.

First things first, the food is brilliant. None of us 4 were vegans yet we were all delighted by the meals we had. The Wellington, Okonimiyaki, Leek Tart and Katsu all exceeded our expectations. I would say you have more reason to go here and experience true plant based eating if you aren't vegan. Our desserts were also delicious, the Sundae, affogato and pear brownie. The chef also came out to say hello, which was lovely. The only things that were more towards average were the speed of service in front of house and the atmosphere. Nothing special there. I definitely want to go back and try more of the dishes, especially the Christmas menu! Compliments to the chef, you really stand out from the rest.

I haven't been here since 2015.... It's lovely. The food may be a little on the pricey but it's worth it. We came here for a date lunch and we'll be back with friends. 10 out of 10

Great restaurant - delicious food, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and good value. Three of us had the mushroom wellington, and this was excellent, and one of us went for the katsu squash, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The chocolate sundae and apple, date and ginger crumble are also highly recommended. I'm very much not a vegan but I'd definitely eat here again.

Went here for our Son's 18 birthday, just a quiet dinner with a friend who is non-vegan. Wonderful meal as always, our friend was most impressed with his curry and the eaton mess for afters. Love that the menu changes frequently with a few staples. Excellent service, food different and inventive and above all delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant for vegan and non-vegans to enjoy good food.

I've never had a better vegan meal. All of the food I ordered had clearly prepared with care and thought. The price point is on the more expensive side but is well worth it. I cannot stress enough just how amazing this experience was.

Far exceeded expectations, a very welcoming and warming atmosphere by the staff, we were well looked after. As a party of 6, we had a selection of starters that were all so amazing, full of flavour and presented so well, the same could be said for the main courses we had, all very well presented and a great fresh taste of flavours. The open kitchen adds a really great atmosphere to the restaurant, you can see the time and effort that goes into preparing each dish, I would recommend visiting if you are in Norwich, even as a meat eater this vegaterian restaurants still hits the spot, I wouldn't overlook this spot!

What a great restaurant! Everything was really lovely. The place is cosy and welcoming, the toilets were spotless (and unisex! Yay for inclusivity!) . The food was also delicious, I really struggled to decide what to pick as everything was interesting and appealing. Amazing vegan food!

An incredible eating experience. The staff were pleasant and attentive, especially to diatery restrictions, highlighting and noting any previously specified ones on our menu. The food was also to a very high standard, celebrating local and fresh ingredients. The chocolate and coffee tart is a stand out, balancing the two flavours to perfection. As a non-vegan I didn't feel like anything was missing from my plate - the highest praise I can give. As for atmosphere, the music was at the perfect volume allowing for good conversation without feeling like you were being overheard. Can recommend River Green Restaurant enough for it's attentive staff and outstanding food.

Delicious food, really inventive ingredients including British grown pulses and tasty chutneys and salads. Ice creams and sorbets were very nice: blood orange sorbet was a favourite.

I went here just over a couple weeks ago for my birthday. We were a party of 4 and got sat on a really beautiful, fairy lit round table which we couldn’t believe was so lovely. The staff were brilliant. All very attentive and personable. We felt very cared for throughout the evening, it was fabulous service. So much so I’ve kept meaning to leave this review. They left quite the impression. Our table were 2 vegans and 2 meat eaters and all of us were extremely pleased with the food. I tried bits of each meal and have to say the Glazed Okonomiyaki was beautiful, the pancake was insane. What really was a treat was the slice of cake they brought out for me after discovering it was my birthday at the end. They made my evening feel truly special and left us all singing their praises. We will be coming back and recommending them to anybody and everybody. Thank you so much Rivergreen for a truly memorable evening, we had the most fabulous time.

Incredible Vegan Food - by far the best we’ve had yet - great service, excellent selection of beers - an absolute must visit even if you’re not Veggie/Vegan

It was very nice I was not impressed with the fact the kitchen staff were not yelling at each other and shouting “behind!” And “corner!” Like in ‘Chicago Bear’ the new series but other than that my kimchi pancake was an 8.5/10 which is pretty good by my standards.

They have a seasonal menu which is quite cool. The staff in general are friendly and give good service. Doggies are welcome. Sometimes with certain dishes, continuity lacks as consistency isn't the same between chefs. I always make sure to go when the head chef (the owner) is cooking. The other chefs are okay too but thinking about consistency - I like how the head chef cooks certain dishes. The other chefs don't do the same job. I know the head chef runs cooking workshops. They're so popular, everytime we've called to book one, they've been fully booked.

Lovely food as always. Precautions for covid are intense so no worries there. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Recommended eating establishment for veggie, vegan or any other dietary requirements and I'm sure some meat eaters would enjoy it too.

Visited River Green many times and we always have a brilliant meal! Had a late lunch last Saturday and the food was once again brilliant! Even if you arent veggie or vegan you have to check this place out!

Had a very lovely meal (lunchtime), the atmosphere is cosy with a modern vibe. I had the baked burrito which was stuffed full of goodness. Nuts are a common ingredient for vegetarian food I have found personally and my partner, who has an allergy to peanuts, had the choice of anything off the menu apart from one dish and even this dish the chef offered to substitute the satay for another sauce if she wanted it! This was a lovely offer and was just an extra little step others sometimes dont take. On the menu there is a very good selection of food and also a choice of various specials so be careful not to miss them! Overall it had great food, lovely service and I would highly recommend visiting 5*!

We're not veggie but have friends who are. Food great, never realised veggie could be so good. Also cater for gluten free and lactose intolerant. Our little dog is always made very welcome.

Warm and welcoming staff who helped me reserve a table for our works Christmas meal. The food is great, even for carnivores like myself as the tastes are rich and full of flavour. The chef even made an appearance at our table who greeted us as we were opening our secret santa gifts. Would come again even if there wasn't a vegan in our party

Great place! I'm not a vegan or even vegetarian, so I'll be entirely honest, I wasn't expecting much. But WOW 😍 The food was fabulous, cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. I had croquettes to start, which were deliciously crisp and creamy. My main was a byriani, which was equally brilliant. For desert, I had a chocolate torte. For someone who lives for chocolate I genuinely, GENUINELY, couldn't tell it was vegan! It was the most scrummy torte I've ever had in a restaurant. Service was great, attentive and friendly. A great selection of local ales and ciders was also available, which can only make a good thing better! All in all I was very impressed and I'll definitely be going again soon!

We loved this place and enjoyed a really good meal. There is lots to choose from on the menu. We can definitely recommend the veggie burger and veggie Wellington! The restaurant also offers cooking evenings. The café is set in a lovely location opposite the village green. You will need to park up one of the side streets as there is limited parking directly in front of the café. Will definitely be going again

Lovely restaurant set in small picturesque village. As someone who can't eat certain allergens I've found this the most accommodating place to eat, they're very clear what's in what. The staff are super friendly and it's always a delight to visit 10/10 would recommend!

I love this place! Recently revisited River Green. The restaurant has a relaxed unpretentious dining room. The attention to detail in their cooking methods should be noted. The prices seem to be rather low for the level of devotion put into their dishes.

I don't often leave reviews but felt compelled to after coming here for the first time in many years. Wow it's a total different food experience, a taste sensation! The oyster mushrooms and samphire small plates were AMAZING and so was the main Japanese pancake. The whole experience was so beautiful, we didn't have to wait long and the staff here were so gracious and lovely! Thank you. I also love how this restaurant has stepped up - they source locally, cook seasonally, their whole menu is vegan so yes will be coming here again very soon.

I went here a couple of months ago with my ageing father a couple of months ago and have been meaning to review since, the place is immaculate, very well and comfortably designed and put together. The team were lovely and very accommodating to my father whose not to sharp on his pins and certainly not too accustom to vegan cuisine however he was raving about it and very pleased both with presentation and taste, as was I. This is a great business with a great ethos and message beyond just being vegan, they're really trying to address issues within the hospitality industry of sourcing, delivering and general environmental impacts of our actions as individuals and businesses. Great work guys!!! Keep at it! X

Such a wonderful restaurant. Food was beautifully cooked and presented. So lovely not to have to choose something to be "veganised" as everything was vegan. I had the tofu bowl. The other dish in the photo was the tofu pancake dish.

We had a lovely experience today with very polite service and a lot of love in the food. I first thought the children's menu could have some more healthy options on, but then the burger patty actually consisted of veggies and there was a small side salad as well. I loved the flavour of my Okonomiyaki and the burst of colours on my plate. Unfortunately we were too full to try any of the delicious sounding desserts but we certainly will next time. Thank you for a delightful and satisfying meal and great service.

On arrival we were greeted by two front of House staff with smiles on their faces, we sat down and the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes. However they were more than happy for us to take our time to choose what we fancied. The room was filled with laughs everyone around was having a good time. The food was devine. From presentation, an explosion of flavour with every dish accompanied a lovely bottle of red wine. The portions were generous but we still managed to get through 3 courses because of tasty the food was. Would highly recommend this place and we will be coming back for sure

We've lived locally for many years and can't believe we've never visited before. It certainly won't be the last time. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere chilled and the food was absolutely amazing. The Thai yellow curry that I had was sublime.

Quite literally the best restaurant in Norwich. I had the summer roast and it was the nicest roast I’ve ever had. The food is impeccable and the service is fantastic (thank you Kate!!). I’ll be coming back 💚 I really hope the restaurant sells the roasts for Christmas ! X

I have always had an amazing experience every time I’ve dined at River Green (which is too many to count now!). Being veggie / vegan over the years, it’s difficult finding enough choice when dining out - but that’s never been the case with River Green. In fact I frequently have difficultly deciding. The food is always so fresh, staff friendly and polite. I love the variety of dishes, and that they choose to cook using ingredients that are in season. We’ve also been to a few of the ‘themed’ evenings which are always a blast. Can’t wait to visit again in future.

Had a really lovely meal here. The food was excellent, the atmosphere very pleasant and the staff very friendly and helpful. I had the Japanese tofu pancakes which were delicious and my partner really enjoyed the weekday roast with all the trimmings. We managed to fit in the chocolate torte for pudding which was beautifully done. Whether you are vegan or not this place is a real treat.

1st experience of the river cafe for a late impromptu Sunday lunch. Really pleased with the last minute decision, from the moment we walked in. Atmosphere was relaxed, staff were friendly and efficient. We enjoyed 3 courses and all were as delicious as described in the menu. I don't think it will be long before we revisit 😊

Came here with the excuse to celebrate my half birthday, given my real birthday was during lockdown. This restaurant was charming ! Delicious and authentic quality food, their menu stretches beyond the usual curry dishes I knew and where all fantastic! Although everything was vegetarian, the absence of meat did not stop us enjoying everything and feeling extremely full and satisfied. Have recommended to both my vegetarian friends and omnivores. Great atmosphere as well, particularly good for gatherings. Thank you for this experience.

Oh my, delicious food. Shared various dishes with friends. Tried a few starters which names I can't remember, the fried snacks with chutneys and something with chickpeas. Beetroot curry, lentil curry and side of potatoes and vegetables. Loved the dosa and the tamarind rice. The white rice flour bread was new for me, reminds me of a thin crumpet and it was great to soak up sauces/thin curries. Attentive staff and really good price! Would recommend!

Tasty keralan cuisine. Grab some dosa, vada, idli or appam to soak up some amazing south Indian food. The thoran, parippu are tasty and nutritious

Had dinner here last night. Food was delicious, amazing value and different to the usual indian fare available. We had starters, mains, sides and nibbles and a bottle of prosecco for £67 including service charge for 3 of us, bargain. Service was good, apart from them being slow bringing tapwater, a universal problem it seems.

Their food is great but sadly they don't know how to work with deliveries. We ordered with Just Eat, waited for one hour and a half (where the driver looked like he was at the restaurant waiting for the order) then all of the sudden the order changed into: "delivered". We got no food and we were charged in full. Had we not the patience to stay on the chat for 30 min to get the reimbursement it would have been a ripoff. Just Eat customer service said it was the restaurant's mistake as they were too busy. Hence: go in person once it's open again, but avoid any delivery.

Waited over 2 hours for a delivery on Deliveroo that kept being delayed because they hadn’t prepared the food. Ended up cancelling but not after having to chat with Deliveroo for half an hour to get the full refund. A shame because we like the food but we will not be ordering again.

Do not order from here online we have twice and never received the food, having to cancel. Never do it.

Decent food, slow service, slightly overpriced

Absolutely loved the flavours. The decor and interiors of this place are cutely pink and at the same time very earthy. If you ve been to Kerala it would remind you of the houses in Kerala. The staff is very warm and hospitality is amazing. We were welcomed with great politeness. The food is just as brilliant. Usually when we go to Indian restaurants, the food is really heavy and not all close to authentic Indian food, and we more often than not return back home unsatisfied and complaining. But with Rasa n16 the food is as authentic as it gets. Authentic indian food is healthy and bursting with flavour and that's what we experienced at Rasa. The Appams were so soft and fluffy and almost melt in the mouth. The Rasa vangi, avial and potato spinach side dish were very flavourful too. All in all, we had a great dining experience at Rasa, and are already looking forward to our next meal.

Called on Sunday to make a booking for Monday evening for our anniversary - they happily took the booking and all was set. Only when we arrived did we find out that they are not actually open on Mondays. Regardless of what their food is like - that's just plain rude.

Came here for my fiancé's birthday, as was drawn in by the vegan menu. Ordered the vegan feast to share between the two of us, as my fiance is pregnant she wouldn't have eaten much but the waiter insisted we get something else as well, which felt a bit strange but fine it's her birthday so I was up for a feast. Asked if the vegan feast comes with poppadoms and he said that it does. Food was okay, nothing special 4/10 at best, but when the bill came it had two extra things added on it, plus a service charge for a table of 2 (which others have also mentioned in their reviews). So yeah double check the bill. Also found the service to be rude and unwelcoming (not one smile between all of them), which is never nice, but especially at a birthday meal.

The food is good, dosas are excellent, though the main course portions are smaller than you might expect. They are quite creative with the bill so I recommend checking it carefully against what you ordered. I wouldn't have noticed except they had hand-written the service charge onto the bill (for a table of 2!) and that caused us to notice they were also inaccurate on what we ordered. This was quickly resolved but it seemed strange that it needed resolving.

Extremely disappointing takeaway meal for me & my family last week that was supposed to be a treat. I’ve been to Kerela plus eaten many authentic Keralan meals at the Ruchi restaurant that was in Church St. Food was flavoured with Scotch Bonnet chillis that have a very specific flavour and are not used in this cuisine plus the masala sauces in two of the curries were nearly identical and reminded me of the bad old days of Indian restaurant food when I was a lot younger and didn’t know about how delicious & varied the dishes & spices used in them could be. It made wonder if this had come out of one of the industrial kitchens that have been set up to meet takeaway demand rather than from the restaurant in Church St itself. I’ve noticed one behind the Royal India restaurant?? Certainly the last one I order from here .

We've been to Rivergreen a few times now and have enjoyed every experience. There are a range of options to suit different tastes and I always find the meals so full of flavour. Often vegan food isn't worth eating out for as it's normally not the best quality but the food at Rivergreen is such good quality and the ingredients are so fresh and full of flavour. I love that they use locally grown ingredients. The restaurant is lovely and has a relaxed feel. I find it very sensory friendly and is never too overwhelmingly busy and love being able to see put over the park through the big windows.
