Disappointing
South
Indian
Fare
at
Lily's
Restaurant
Rating:
★★☆☆☆
I
recently
visited
Lily's
Restaurant
with
high
hopes
for
a
satisfying
South
Indian
meal.
While
the
starters,
including
the
Gobi
Manchurian,
Papdi
Chat,
and
Raj
Kachori,
were
delicious
and
left
a
good
first
impression,
the
main
courses
failed
to
live
up
to
expectations.
We
decided
to
try
the
Masala
Dosa
and
Masala
Oothappam
based
on
their
appealing
texture,
but
unfortunately,
they
turned
out
to
be
quite
disappointing.
The
taste
fell
short,
making
them
barely
eatable.
It's
surprising
that
a
restaurant
known
for
its
flavorful
chats
and
curries
struggled
with
authentic
South
Indian
dishes.
Even
the
chutneys,
a
crucial
accompaniment
to
these
dishes,
were
lackluster.
They
lacked
freshness
and
seemed
to
have
been
prepared
well
in
advance,
giving
the
impression
that
they
were
made
a
week
ago.
It's
disheartening
when
a
restaurant
excels
in
certain
areas
but
falters
in
others.
While
the
starters
at
Lily's
Restaurant
were
impressive,
the
subpar
quality
of
the
main
courses
and
chutneys
left
a
lot
to
be
desired.
It's
important
for
a
restaurant
to
maintain
consistency
across
its
menu,
especially
when
it
comes
to
regional
specialties
like
South
Indian
cuisine.
Given
my
experience,
I
would
hesitate
to
recommend
Lily's
Restaurant
for
those
seeking
an
authentic
and
enjoyable
South
Indian
dining
experience.
However,
I'm
hopeful
that
they
can
address
these
issues
and
improve
the
overall
quality
of
their
offerings
in
the
future.
