Price of food does not match the quality of the food at all. The waiters have low fluency in English, the wait times are unreasonably long and the drink jars are a scam. They are the price of a small cup the size of the one shown in the photos however you get 5 glasses so the price for one jar becomes over £20. There is also a 10% eat in charge and even the tap water tasted a little off. They also have a saw that is currently in use at the front of the restaurant where any child could get to it and possibly injure themselves, which I have reported to Leicester city council as a health and safety concern.

Great food and fair sized portions reasonably priced however, service is slow and inconsistent. Food comes out as and when and not at the same time, for just 2 of us dining, we both ordered cocktails but came 10 minutes apart, desserts was a similar experience. The waiting staff tried their best but were rushed off their feet, felt sorry for them as there clearly weren’t enough staff. The menu is all vegetarian however, they do serve alcohol. Fair sized car park

Visited Indigo after a few years, the place has not changed, same tables same interior. and unfortunately the food also, not changed. Ordered the indigo special pizza, peri chips, chilli paneer, ans crispy bhajia. The starters came withing 5 mins of ordering, was surprised how fast they came. The food overall was average, peri chips were the only thing I can say was good. Service on the other hand was poor. we were seated in a corner and no one came to ask if we needed anything and had to shout to get attention from the waiters. Also had asked for coke zero and was given diet coke.

So we've been to this restaurant many times and it's been very good but there is now a new cut down menu where a lot of our favourites have disappeared like Chilli Aloo and Jags Schezwan. A rather disappointing visit but what we ordered was good. Prices have gone up and the dishes are now smaller in size too. I think the compulsory 10% service charge to eat in is a bit steep! I'm not sure I'd bother visiting again as there is plenty of other vegetarian choices around.

Having read recent reviews about poor service and low quality food, I was apprehensive about attending a party of over 20 guests. Ordering items has changed so we order online whilst there. We used 2 phones but could pay on one account at the end. This is actually a great idea as it cuts down confusion and more devices can be used. The quality of food was just as I remembered and the service was excellent! The only negative thing is that we ordered an item but it never arrived. However, this was removed from the bill. All in all, a fantastic experience

Two major red flags 🚩 1) The naan is from Tesco and not freshly made. It’s was so obvious as I buy the same one from my local store for home use. This is totally unacceptable from a restaurant using packaged and processed food from a grocery store and passing it on in their restaurant to customers. Not cool. 2) The Banshahi faluda was not a faluda. It was a bit of ice cream with a bit of rose syrup and cashews served in a martini 🍸 glass. The faluda was in the Milkshake section of the menu and had zero milk. I’ve never ever seen a faluda served like this. For a faluda named as the “Emperors Faluda” it was a very big disappointment. Starters and mains otherwise was alright, nothing overly special. I wouldn’t really opt to go here for a meal especially considering they use processed naan (which is totally unacceptable) and menu is misleading. Many other options in Leicester to actually make their own food.

Info: You can expect to spend around £10-20 per person here. There may also be a wait time for tables, so it is best to call and make a reservation to ensure a place. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible from the front, though some seating areas can only be accessed by going down a step or two. They also have an upper seating area. Would highly advise to call and book a reservation for any wheelchair users to guarantee a table in a wheelchair friendly area. Our experience: Indigo was a pleasant place to eat, though very very busy as we went at a peak time. We had the restaurant menu (as opposed to the buffet). It seems that one item from our order was forgotten, but after enquiring this was rectified as they made it immediately. Harsh in particular was a great server, always serving with smiles and being happy to assist, despite us making quite a few changes to our order. In general, I would avoid visiting at peak times, as the place is quite busy. The food is of great quality, even if it may take a while to come, it is usually worth it. The photos include the cheese and tomato pizza and the vegetable schezwan noodles, and photos of the menu as of 16/09/2023.

Food was amazing, very tasty and ample sizes we were provided with takeaway containers as couldn't manage it all! Service was efficient we had a table of 11 and timing of food was perfect, staff are friendly and helpful. Restaurant has a nice family atmosphere. Couldn't fault anything, thoroughly recommend and will be going again.

Lovley food, friendly staff & great new Covid dining/ordering system. Only thing that lets this place down is that they need a modern refurbishment especially the toilets. Spend some of that money you,ve made over the years?

Not worth the hassle! Very poor service, food just spicy with minimal taste, sizzling brownie doesn't sizzle and chefs are too busy so cannot order your favourite food. Had to get up and get our own plates at times, went down to ask for an extra glass which was given to me without wondering why customer had to get up for it (expecting an apology would be ........). 4 years ago was very disappointed with this restaurant and today they did not fail to top that up! Never again Never again!

Hi My family visited on Friday 9th. The food was nice, however I must say there were things that made my question whether I would want to visit again. The service was slow and inattentive. The tables and sticky and surrounding areas where dirty. Menus were disgusting to touch. Ladies toilets were dirty and the hand soap was water watered down to mainly water. The prices have become ridiculous. Service charge and eat in charge?! I came away disappointed and feeling a little ill. My family and I have eaten there for over 20 years. I’m not sure if I would want to return but I hope my feedback gives them some food for thought and improvements are made. £120 was not worth it.

We had dinner from the set menu, the food was so delicious, despite it being so busy, staff were great. It's a shame we couldn't take any food home, as according to the manager, that was the rule - any food that is left over from the set menu can't be taken away. It's thrown away instead. Doesn't make sense at all. Perhaps this can be reconsidered, it's not right to throw food away which can easily be taken away and eaten.

Indigo's has been a favourite for years now. Almost mind bendingly good chilli paneer (its like they invented it), chilli mushrooms and crispy aubragine...it really hits a spot. Still just as good as ever. Though in the past it has been a bit hit and miss, the last two takeaways have been as good as ever....

A wonderful pure vegetarian restaurant which shows the amazing taste of Indian and Chinese food that takes you out of this world. My favourites are aubergine stir fry, chilli panneer, chilli idli, shezwan noodles, vegtable manturian with gravy. There are also chips and pizza as well as cakes and a wide range of desserts. Perfect for any occasion and a lot of amazing items on the menu.

On the day we went we had special needs. Staff could not be more helpful, they put themselves out to accommodate our needs and were very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Can definitely recommend to others looking for good food which is value for money, and friendly helpful staff too. Drasti, in particular, was exceptionally helpful. All staff are polite, helpful, friendly and approachable. Thank you everyone.

We re-visited indigo after a long time to try their festive menu with our close friends. Surprisingly shocked to find a really good selection of food on offer on buffet. We had no issues with the service, food was nice and hot, considering it was a miserable weather outside, with a warm fire to warm us we really had a good time. highly recommend the festive menu. No doubt will be going again before the menu is changed. Well done Indigo for thinking outside of the box.

Very disappointing visit here this evening. The place is very run down. The food was not fresh or very warm (it seemed as if it had been reheated, perhaps even microwaved) - some dishes had to be sent back to the kitchen. Service staff were inattentive and generally the food didn’t have much flavour. There are plenty of other better options in Leicester. Sadly we will not be returning.

Love the food here but a few things let it down so I won't be coming back. Management is really poor. A waitress spilt a milkshake on me and still charged it to our bill. Even when we tried to get it taken off the bill, they didn't want to do it until we said we are not paying. Service charges are a rip as well. It's a shame as the food is really nice

I came to the buffet yesterday. It was a good experience the pizza and garlic bread was too good and the service was excellent, especially that bearded short guy(I think his name is vishnu)he came to our table a few times. We will be definitely coming again.

We went to Indigo and I thought I had made a booking but it must not have gone through. Despite this, they found us a table on a very busy night and the staff was wonderful. The food was delicious, especially the salt and pepper mushrooms. Particular thanks to Siddarth. Nothing was too much or too annoying got him and he was just super pleasant and accommodating.

A really good service. Although the food was nice, it was not the authentic taste for the South Indian dish we had ordered, as it was similar but nowhere near what it should be. I'll give 4 stars for the service, and 3 stars for the food, as the starter was good.

  • 4/5 Mayurkumar M. 1 year ago on Google
Not quite 5 star, but giving it 4 star to be generous. Their "large" portions aren't large and definitely not worth the price if they come out to be small. The staff were amazing with their service and were very welcoming, the food came out within 10 minutes which was reasonable and had only been filling when we ordered about 15 items on the menu. Would recommend the food but awfully expensive

Great place to eat Indian vegetarian dishes. Prompt service and fab food. Our visitors had eaten at three different restaurants in Leicester last weekend and their verdict was Indigo being a better place to eat with prompt service and accomodating staff. Thank you.

Came here yesterday and all I can say is that the taste of the food was really good. But the service wasn’t the best because when we came in the waitress or waiter’s did not show any communication even though we were standing right in front of them. Overall I had a good time.

  • 5/5 Sooria R. 1 year ago on Google
We were seated right in the back which wasn't as nice as the front of the restaurant but that's to be expected as we turned up on a Saturday night with no reservation. The food was honestly incredible and well worth the money we spent. Stayed there for 2 hours and loved it, the staff are sweet and very accommodating. I heard a rumour that they are thinking of closing up shop and I hope that isn't true.

Service and food quality have both gone down hill and was a bit of a waste of money. The ambience and atmosphere was dull and dated and not a place to chill. We ordered Hakka noodles with our order and it came cold and didn’t appear fresh, so we complained to the waiter, he didn’t seem apologetic about it, brought it back and was microwaved which we sent back and refused to pay for in bill. The manager kindly came to apologise and offered chilli paneer on the house as a gesture. The bhajia was salty and had no taste and food overall is below standard, and unfortunately won’t be attending again due to a bad experience. In addition, service was extremely slow and the restaurant appeared to be prioritising a large booking which were there at the same time instead and appeared under staffed.

Popular vegetarian Indian restaurant in a traditional building. Plenty of parking. Professional, courteous and friendly service. Quite busy and bit noisy. Ther was a slight delay in the kitchen but we were kept informed and given complimentary papads. Great food. We had fresh passion fruit juice and salted lassi for drinks both excellent. This was followed by chilli paneer , hakka noodles , indigo rice ( all excellent), dosa ( batter was too thick and chewy rather than thin and crispy) and special chaat ...had too many onions, also a bit more of yogurt and chutney would be good as it was dry at the edges. All in all a good experience. Would go again

Unfortunately there was an issue with the till system tonight which meant service was very slow. That is still understandable, but we'd ordered a pau bhaji without Coriander. When the order arrived, there was Coriander in there and the waiter tried to convince us that it was peppers. It wasn't - it was Coriander which meant we had to send it back and have another long wait. Other than this, food was enjoyable :)

What’s happening at Indigo? The staff are clueless, food is coming out in dribs and drabs and half the dishes are forgotten. Ruined my nephew’s birthday meal. Once a regular favourite and reliable restaurant for family meals, now an absolute disaster ☹️

  • 1/5 Tina D. 8 months ago on Google
I think this is my last visit to Indigo after having been a regular customer for the last 15+ years. It was our most reliable tried and tested place to go, but today when we came to have dinner and celebrate my nephew's 4th birthday we were let down. We came at 6.30, ordered and waited and waited till around 8 for our food to come. We asked 2-3 times about when the food would come as the child was getting restless. The food was generally ok, but the veg Manchurian was cold inside, the veg biryani was more like a pulao, virgin Pina colada had no pineapple juice and was bland, we waited ages for them to bring out the Birthday cake by which time my nephew was sleepy and irritable( around 9pm) - this too after I went to remind them to bring the cake. (The staff had the cake out but for some reason took ages to bring it to the table) I appreciate that it's a week day but come on, how much do we need to ask about where the food and drink is? Indigo, please pull up your socks and get with it. Organize your staff, sort out your kitchen issues and bring your standards back up to what they were. Indigo looks tired and knackered out, and it's not very welcoming. 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

Good food. Good service from Harsh. Ambience was below standard. Place was dated. Definitely needs a make over. A place to eat if hungry, but not a place to chill and enjoy your time

  • 1/5 Vijay G. 8 months ago on Google
OMG that was the worse food I have ever had. The buffet was bland and tasteless. Best thing was the mango rus which came out of a tin. No idea what the Dosa was. The chef needs to get some cooking classes. I am furious and disappointed. Seriously don’t come here.

I dined at Indigo restaurant for a midweek meal. The food was delicious and arrived hot, but I was disappointed that it took over 40 minutes to be served. Unfortunately, the waitress also got our drinks order wrong, and my requested table reservation was not honored. The quality of the food was good, but the service and attention to detail left much to be desired.

  • 1/5 Anil P. 8 months ago on Google
Really poor service , not bad from waiters, drinks took too long to arrive, but the mangers were very poor, no acknowledging whilst waiting to pay. One of our groups meal didnt arrive until the rest had finished & Bill incorrect, amended but no apology for either. Visited Indigo years ago, loved it , but now really poor, the food is nothing to shout about I am afraid. Wont be going again, unless some big changes are made.

  • 2/5 M P. 8 months ago on Google
Food was average or below. The ladies serving the food were nice but they brought out my meal 20mins after the rest. The toilets are a mess. And the man at the front desk had no manners. He said “come” when our table was ready. This place needs a massive make over and I don’t think it will as the people running it don’t really care at all. This place used to be good when we were younger. Shame.

Lack of COVID-19 measures. Table was booked, still had to wait at least 30 mins to be seated. Lobby was crowded with people, very close proximity. There are no perspex dividers between tables. DEFINITELY NOT 2 METRES APART. I saw a few tables (seemed like a large party on separate tables) mixing together. Clearly rules are not being followed.

Such a terrible take away today. Usually they are good, but today's was truly terrible. The crispy bhajia were soft and soggy almost like they had been heated in a microwave, same for the aubergine stir fry. As of the one way system for covid, they seem to do as they please allow some to not follow it and others are made to follow it. You have to question the motives of a restaurant that allows this sort of behaviour.

Great food for vegetarians. The portions used to be great, but with ‘recents changes in packaging due to covid 19’ the packaging seems to have gone smaller. I wouldn’t bother ordering a large for a takeaway next time, just stick with the normal portion you’ll get the same amount.

Good abd efficient service. Downside - They run out of passionfruit cheesecake at 2.00pm?

We were recommend to visit here. The outside was better than the inside. The staff were not interactive. When ordering it was as of it was an effort to the staff member to take the order, he had to be told numerous times what we wanted. The food came out within 5 minutes of our order therefore assuming it was premade and just warmed. And before we had our drinks. When visiting the ladies bathroom had to complain as it was dirty (for which is too much to say in detail ). To be honest the food was nice but not sure I would return.

I contacted Indigo quite last minute to host my daughter's first birthday party. Within minutes of submitting my enquiry, a representative called me with different party options to choose from and she could not have been more helpful in providing key information. I opted for the silver party menu and confirmed my dishes. I met with a lady called Helli the day before our event and she showed me the first floor of the restaurant (where our party would be). The layout was perfect and super spacious to comfortably accommodate my 40 guests and highchairs for all the babies. On the day, the tables were set-up as requested and the vintage atmosphere perfectly matched my decor choices. The staff could not have been more accommodating in helping me with banners etc. Drinks were promptly served as my guests arrived and our head waitress - Pooja and her colleague - Nirali were on the ball from the get go. Fresh, warm starters with top-ups as requested made the event perfect. Everyone really enjoyed the tasty bhel that was served too. Mains were equally exceptional and served promptly. The restaurant was also able to adapt the dhosas I requested for my vegan guests which was great! Would definitely recommend Indigo for anyone looking to host a get together / party. The service was fab, the food was hot and made fresh as requested. We are so glad we chose the restaurant to host our daughter's first birthday.

Everything is 0 out of 10 . They not provide salad pickles even I asked then I got funny answered we do t have salad and pickles , food also not good test , mostly food is readymade. If we want to eat like a readymade food why we spend more money. Budweiser beer bottle they served in £4 . What a funny if we want to drink bottle of beee why I spend £4 instead £1

Well, the food was horrible. I left 3 star because of the staff were trying to provide the good service. Well, I was there for good food not only the service. When I was there and heard that they serve pre cooked naan bread. I was shocked. 🤯 They do not any drink with ice because they do not keep ice cubes. Seriously, is it a restaurant or you guys sale precooked dishes , which I can find in any supermarkets. Felt sorry for the staff who work there.
