Wow, just wow. I've wanted to go to Mere for a long time and I really wasn't disappointed. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has a lovely ambiance. Every member of staff was so helpful and friendly - they were even accommodating when we were running late for our table due to traffic - they could not have been nicer about pushing our reservation back by half an hour. And the food was just exceptional. We had the tasting menu and each dish seemed to get better than the last. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and hope to be back soon.

What is there to say, just simply phenomenal. You can see that Monica has come up under the tutelage of Michel Roux Jr, but that's obviously not where the journey ended and Monica has managed to create a dining experience to surpass her teacher in many ways. The cuisine is simple in concept and complex in flavour, perfectly created, balanced dishes all with a twist of the South Pacific. All served by attentive but not invasive staff and a credit to 'how to do it properly'. The cheese dessert rivals and in my opinion surpasses Le Gavroche's famous Cheese Souffle, and that's going some. Monica and her husband, along with her team, deserve all the accolades they're surely going to get. Look forward to coming again!

Our meal was 2 hours of sheer food escapism. From the minute we arrived we were welcomed and felt it.the entire team were incredibly attentive and welcoming, but not overbearing. The food was exceptional, exciting and innovative and for the first time in a longtime my wife and I just basked in the amazing food and ambience. The whole setup was so wonderful the time flew by. The cocktails were incredible too. We were never without anything and we left feeling like we had gotten a bargain. Also Monica walked through the restaurant and said hello after I waved like a dork. Thank you so much.

Great dining experience. My family opted for the tasting menu which was £65pp without wine. The food portions were right for a tasting menu and we were not overly full by the end of it. Each dish was fresh and innovative. Just something different compared to many other Michelin starred restaurants. Ambience was relaxed. Perfect for special occasions or business dinners. Highly recommended.

Probably one of the most amazing dining experiences my wife and I have ever enjoyed. Having booked this restaurant to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary we arrive to a very warm welcome and enjoyed the cocktails in the bar area prior to going downstairs to the restaurant for our main meal. The flavours of the food was simply superb and the presentation Excellent. As you would expect of a restaurant of this calendar calibre the service was faultless. This is not a restaurant you would go to regularly unless you have deep pockets. The on Atmosphere on the night was excellent. We have eaten in many excellent restaurants and nice has to be up there amongst the best.

Mere is a beautiful, understated restaurant with impeccable service and delicious food. We were a group of four, celebrating a birthday and having a good catch-up and I'm not sure we could have chosen a better spot. As a table, we opted for the taster menu which represented excellent value, particularly when compared to restaurants of a similar standard that we have visited. We were offered bread to start (rosemary sourdough, as delicious as it was surprising), followed by amuse-bouches, with the tiny crab and courgette tart astounding us with its perfection. There were six delicious courses, first duck, then pea, pollock, beef, cheese and dessert. I cannot do them justice with words but I would highly recommend you book a table and enjoy them for yourself. An unexpected treat came towards the end of the meal with Monica herself visiting each and every table, making this an even more memorable experience.

An out of this world culinary delight that everyone should experience. My son and I ordered the taster menu and although all our dishes were exemplary, presented to an amazingly high standard and all tasting divine, the ‘Hand Dived Scallop’ with cannellini and black pudding ragout was the pinnacle of our evenings dining experience. This is how you cook scallops; I never wanted the dish to end. All the staff working at the Mere were immaculately presented, attentive to our needs, patient and polite. They never stopped smiling throughout the entire evening and every dish they presented came with a full explanation of all ingredients and how the dish was prepared. We found this insight a particularly nice touch. I fully understand how some people may consider the prices to be high, however, for this level of sophisticated, high-end cuisine, I feel the costing is balanced and fair. My son and I were privileged enough to meet both Monica and David at the end of the evening, finding them both welcoming, charming and generous with their time. It astonished me to learn that the ‘Mere Restaurant’ does not have a Michelin star! However, I feel with this consistent level of gastronomic excellence, it will only be a matter of time before you are all rewarded for your hard work. We would like to extend our gratitude to Monica, David and all your staff at ‘The Mere’ for a perfectly wonderful evening.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu, not overly creative but very tasty and well executed. The Tasting is 6 courses and very light so would be fine for a lunch also. Stop by early for a cocktail in the bar at the top. Service good, food very good and absolutely deserving of the Michelin Star. Particularly enjoyed the lamb and the dessert.

Mere was lovely. We had a really special dinner here after getting a voucher as a wedding gift. It did not disappoint. The restaurant is really comfortable and has a very nice atmosphere. It does feel quite formal but we enjoyed how special it felt and how good the service was. We had a meal from the a la carte menu which was delicious and with many dishes being nothing like I had ever tasted before. Great! It is pricey but was expected and it was worth it.

Food here insanely good, bit on the small side but this is to be expected from a fine dining restaurant. Couldn’t fault the service and presentation of the table and food presented, was very good and definitely worth every penny. Atmosphere is perfect for a intimate date with your significant other, probably not a first date though as it might be slightly OTT for this. Place was rather small inside but this added to the ambience and intimacy of the experience. When I visited around Christmas time they have an amazing Christmas tree 🎄 (see picture) just down the road a few minutes from the restaurant, which is worth a visit if you are around the area around this time of year.

Excellent in every way. I haven't been in a restaurant for a long time such that I absolutely loved the food, service and atmosphere. The £60 3 course lunch menu is exquisite and well executed. The flavours tell a story and the menu is coherent. Without a doubt, it is a notable and important place that I would strongly recommend that you visit. I presume the menu is updated regularly. I initially thought having the seating on the lower ground floor would be dark but the mezzanine design of the restaurant brings a lot of natural light. Overall, it is 5 stars and I look forward to revisiting it.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be looking to visit again in the near future, hopefully being able to meet Monica next time as well!

Fantastic new restaurant. The bar was a nice place to start for cocktails, the barman was very helpful suggesting drinks we may like and he was right! Dinner was stunning, everything was very well done from the food and wine through to the service and decor of the restaurant Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a special meal.

Wonderful restaurant! The upstairs bar is very chic and a great place to have a pre dinner cocktail. All the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. Especially appreciated the sommelier explaining why the wines matched the courses' ingredients not just a history of the vineyard. All the food was stunningly presented and very tasty. Would recommend a visit and I hope to be back soon.

What a shame that a chef like Monica Galleti NEED to do TV shows and write cooking books because of money and greed instead of just cooking as she is trained for but I guess she is just too LAZY for doing that

Lovely restaurant- good for dates. No loud music. Everything was tasty and felt it was prepared with love. It’s nice to find hearty dishes prepared in an upscale fashion. I would suggest they experiment a bit more with the flavours. All in all, would go again to try more.

Food was 10/10, everything you would want from a restaurant like this. We got the tasting menu and each course was presented perfectly and tasted amazing (my favourite was the pigeon). We also opted for the wine pairing and the Sommelier was great too. Even got some chocolates and a little card as a birthday treat! Wonderful experience in all, every member of staff I encountered was so friendly and polite which really made the experience all the better. Would 100% recommend.

This is a fine dining experience from one of the best celebrity chefs of the UK. Monica Galetti has created an amazing gastronomic voyage via wonderful and tasty combinations. The in-house cocktails are especially good and perfect to get you in the mood of dinning. Starting with some complimentary "amuse bouche" of parmesan and truffle which just exploded with flavor once you took a bite from it. Also, small bites of "heaven" was the second complimentary amuse bouche dish which was a small chip with truffle mayo and a small bite of bacon served on a rock. That was just the best single bite I have ever had in my life. Continuing with the starter of veal sweatbread, it is indescribable how perfectly cooked and tasty it was. Marinated in Calvados & Roasted, with black apple puree, mushrooms, clementine and roasted hazelnuts, it was the perfect way to get my appetite for the main course going. For the main dish, I personally had the Pollock, accompanied with steamed baby spinach and broccoli. As expected, perfectly cooked, with a great flavor. One of my friends had the shorthorn beef which as they mentioned it was perfectly cooked and very tasty as well. My other friend had the artichoke which was infused in a puff pastry, which really surprised me. As all the dishes, that was a great combination and a perfect Vegan/Vegetarian option for anyone wanting to visit this restaurant. Finally, for dessert I personally had the Pistachio & Blackberry tart which if you are a fan of, this is a must buy. My friends had the apple miso (very cheesecake like taste) and hokey pokey which are also great choices. Before we left they also offered us some complimentary chocolate bites and coffee which was great. Overall this is one of my favorites chef's in the UK and obviously the food quality in Mere is as expected; within the highest of standards and super tasty. In my opinion, for a fine dining experience it's also on the "cheap" side which for a 3 course meal and a drink you wouldn't be spending more than £93 each. Totally recommend for a date night or a celebration of any special occasion.

We had a wonderful meal, a truly memorable evening with fabulous dishes (we had the 6 course tasting menu with wine flight) as a treat for my partner's birthday present last year. For us the highlight was the cannon of lamb, although the Davidstow Cheddar mousse was also exceptional. The wines were unusual and well matched to each dish. The service was impeccable without being overly attentive, and after our meal we were replete without being stuffed. A perfect balance! This was our 3rd attempt at booking given the various lockdowns, and it was very much worth waiting for!

Exceptional cookery for me. I ordered the scallops to start which had a beautiful balance of flavours, beautiful presentation and my favourite dish of the night. Lobster main was again really well executed though I would say the sauce might have been a very slight touch too acidic, still delicious and would order again. I would say these two dishes are more memorable on my palate than the dishes I had at Gordon Ramsay. My partner ordered the beef main which he thought was very good though the beef skewer was a bit awkward to eat. Again all delicious. Desserts were great and the service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is upscale but unpretentious which is exactly what we like.

Absolutely LOVED our first time at Mere, for lunch today. Relaxed atmosphere, incredibly polite and helpful staff, intimate dining area downstairs and food to die for. We had the 6 course taster menu and it was absolutely lovely. No, we weren't overloaded with food but sampling a greater menu was just the best thing ever. We weren't there to feel full. To top it all, Monica appeared from the kitchen and came and spoke to all the diners. Lovely, lovely lady and of course, we'll be back.

Nice restaurant with a lovely bar/lounge for pre-lunch/dinner drinks. Drinks were delicious and they have a good wine selection. We chose the 6 course tasting menu which proved to be interestingly different - very well presented and tasty French style but fused with a slight spicy edge hinting at Monica’s New Zealand/Samoa roots. We really enjoyed this understated fusion. The only drawback was the service. Overall it was good but as we and most of the dining room had the tasting menu, we gradually began to notice that other tables which came in a while after us were catching up and even overtaking us. Between courses 5 and 6 was a 30+ minute wait. We think that the table next to us were accidentally served our last course as they had 3 courses served in that 30+ minute wait, which meant they finished their 6 courses before we did even though they arrived over 30 minutes after us. I had to tell 2 of the waiters that we were getting a bit hungry! Sadly, it meant that we didn’t have time for coffee and petit fours as we were due at the theatre, and so it all became a bit boring due to the wait and then a huge rush.

What a lovely experience, every single meal was so tasty, the staff was genuinely nice, the place is beautiful, the wine amazing, and by the way if you’re lucky enough like us, Monica will be there working in the kitchen, she came out to say hi to every single table so it was lovely to meet her too. I really recommend Mere

Love this place so much, great food and waiters brilliant service, we’ve been several times now our last visit was for lunch, service at lunch not as attentive as evening, we are not snobs but when you buy wine by the bottles 2 on this occasion I would expect the wine waiter to aid and pour when refill required unfortunately he was no where to be seen We also bought 2 bottles of Mere champagne to take home so it was not a cheap lunch break. I had the duck dish for my main course, however I did not eat it all the skin was far from crisp and the meat was a tad chewy, but we will return You need to try this place if it’s only once for a treat. Well done Monica for a fab menu

When we booked I was not sure about this venue as the menu looked fussy and over complicated. But happy to say I was wrong. Short menu but some good blends several surprise combinations. Service excellent. Not cheap but a good night out if you like well cooked and presented food. Also well designed modern decor.

Delicious food in this hidden gem under the streets of Fitzrovia. We went for the a la carte menu, but the lunch set menu deal was very affordable and had a good variety of choice. The recommended wine pairing from the sommelier was perfect alongside our 3 courses and the service in general was good throughout. Canapes and chocolates are included with your meal, which I always particularly enjoy! Monica even made time to greet her dinner guests and talk about the food. An added treat to end an exceptional meal!

Absolutely love this restaurant. If you are after quality food and splendid service this is where you should go. Haven been spoiled by Asian standard of service, Mere is by far the best I have experienced in London in terms of service. It is warm, personable and attentive. Food was given the well deserved TLC, unlike many places in London. The presentation was superb. The best of all, is the service and the team's attention to detail is second to none.

As a lifelong fan of Masterchef had to come to Monica Galetti's restaurant. Due to our theatre visit and the fact that it's not open on Sundays we were only able to have a lunch ? The bar is on Street level where they take your coats and then restaurant itself is downstairs (there is a lift). Lovely welcome by staff and prompt service. We had the 2 course set menu £29 of gnocchi and sea bream for me and chicken terrine and lamb for him. I've had gnocchi before and wasn't keen but this was light and delicious . Complimentary water, bread and choccies filled us and I don't know how people eat a tasting menu at lunchtime ! With a wine pairing! But some were? I opted for a glass of wine and he had lager. Monica's hubby was doing service but no sign of her....maybe she was at the pass! Really enjoyable and hope to have evening meal sometime

Friendly staff and the food was exceptional. We ended up paying more for a lunch than we would normally but it was a Saturday and the more reasonably set menu is only served Mon-Fri. Luckily we had a voucher for Christmas so didn't have to pay for it all! I had the scallops, beef and hokey pokey pudding and couldn't fault it at all -- wonderful flavours. Likewise, my husband enjoyed his too and had the Tortellini, pork and blackcurrant souffle. My Lemongrass Hooper Cocktail was lovely and my husband had a carafe of wine (although he felt the choice was limited unless you wanted to pay top prices). Honestly, we're not tight but like value for money! A lovely experience. Thank you to the team at Mere.

Took my pregnant wife for dinner to mere and it turned out to be one of the best nights of her life. The service was superb, attentive staff that made you feel so welcome and comfortable. We had the 6 course taster menu which was delicious, every course working your tastebuds in different directions and food with so much flavour. The place was very cosy and romantic for us. The only minus point is that the taster menu was so fulfilling that we struggled to finish the dessert. We have been to many Michelin star restaurants in london but if you like great flavoured food in a great place, this is one that has to be done all in all an excellent experience.

We visited on a Friday night an opted for the tasting menu, with wine pairings. While the first course of Gressingham duck was a bit boring, things really picked up from there. The scallop dish combined really well with the lentils, and the following john dory and venison courses were both excellent. The cheese mousse course was an interesting mix of sweet and savoury. We tried the chocolate pear and the Hokey Pokey desserts, and both were excellent. Service was attentive and friendly. The bill for two came to £385, half of which was spent on drinks. In my opinion, this place is hitting a 2-Michelin star level in terms of food, and in that context the tasting menu priced at £85 is relatively good value. Definitely worth a visit.

Wonderful service, ambience and of course the food. Topped off perfectly with the appearance of Master Chef herself, Monica. A lovely lady who deserves success with her young restaurant. Happy birthday to her 14 year old tomorrow. We will definitely go to this gem again. 😊😊😊

We had the tasting menu and each and every aspect of the meal was executed perfectly. One of the few fine dining restaurants where there is real purpose to each element of the dish using the finest ingredients. The attention to detail for the cutlery, wine, champagne and food was a delight. Highlights were the venison, comte and dark tonka chocolate dessert. Monica was also very warm and humble. Treat yourself and eat here, you will not be disappointed..

The staff were brilliant - very attentive and helpful. Food was fabulous - only suggestion is for more on the main dishes...so side additions would be great. Dessert has to be the Hokey Pokey. Yum!

Staff were amazing, but the vegetarian tasting menu was really underwhelming. 3 of the courses were whipped dairy-based products (that tasted very similar) and it generally just felt very basic and lazy for what was a pretty pricey menu, especially when compared to other Michelin starred reataurants. For the final course they also didn't bother to glaze one of the desserts, so one of our party was served a bizarre, lumpy, un-tempered chocolate dome that really stood out against the rest. To top it off, we were charged for the coffees at the end, alongside the "birthday" chocolates. All in all, a really disappointing experience given that we'd heard good things.

Had an amazing anniversary meal. Of course not cheap but the night is one we will definitely always remember. Recommend the tasting menu, and the wine pairing was the best I've ever had

We loved every plate that we ordered. Rich in flavour and unique combinations of food tell who Monica Galleti is.

For lovers of great food (and MasterChef!) We had our last pre-Lockdown meal here. And I think we'll make this our first destination post Lockdown! We had the tasting menu with pairings - was absolutely lovely. I wish I'd had some time up-top in the bar drinking cocktails. We'll be back soon.

A nice experience, the food was delicious, the desert was amazing, good service and loved the fact that there is no music playing. Not a cheap place but it's understandable. If you like your drinks don't avoid the bar area and have a talk with the mixologist, he knows his drinks.

Went in December and had the tasting menu, it was mostly good. Had a festive Baileys cocktail to start with, it was A.MA.ZING! Best cocktail of the festive period! Excellent service and extensive wine list

Excellent value and most welcoming fine dining experience. We were greeted by Monica Galetti at the end of our meal, whom made us felt so at home. The pork belly was beautifully done, meat was soft and tender, and superb pork crackling accompanied by jus. Overall a wonderful experience.

I have to say this place offers great value fine dining style lunch. I ordered a bottle of 1978 Bordeaux red and it was well kept. I'll try their dinner next time.

We were so looking forward to eating there. The food was just fine but unfortunately my fish was a bit raw inside and they took it back, by the time I got the new dish my partner was already finished his meal which ruined the vine - the service obviously apologies and they were friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed tasting menu. My favorite is the cheddar mousse, rich yet balanced. Pollock is interesting dish as well, with spinach wrapped inside and steamed together with the fish. The texture is tender and flavor is delicate. The steak dish can be stronger, although execution wise there is nothing wrong with it, i just wished it can be a little more, more creative or more bold. A good overall experience.

Went to dinner with some friends. We had the tasting menu, and one of my friends ordered the wine pairing with the menu. Was told the wines were really good, and the sommelier was very knowledgeable in his descriptions of each wine served. Lots of small courses! some it was more presentation than taste. I guess I like spicy food and some courses I found were quite sweet taking for my pallette, even thou were savoury. It's a nice place quite generic/neutral in decor. The experience overall was good, however pricey when you factor in drinks and service charges. A real plus point was there wasn't that rushed feeling that you tend to get in some restaurants. Would I go again, possibly not unless someone else is paying.
