A very comfortable cozy place where you want to return!🥰We enjoyed our dinner in a pleasant environment with songs from the 60's. The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere and waiters with smiles and nice uniforms. Our dishes ( duck breast, risotto verde) 😋were delicious with rich flavours. I recommend!

We are local to Guildford and this was our third time visiting Positano after a number of years in absence. The occasion this time is Father's Day. Our quick thoughts here: First, the layout of the restaurant, is quaint, with the tables/ seating located in interesting 'nooks and crannies'. Space looks to be a premium given that it's a listed building but it feels cosy. This may or may not be an attractive feature, but for us, it adds uniqueness and ambience of our dining experience. Secondly, the dishes were made to perfection- all the ones we chose were impeccably cooked to a high standard. The seafood dishes were especially mouth watering - fresh fish, mussels, clams and prawns. Also the dessert menu has a good range of treats for the sweet toothed. Prices are above average but not premium. Thirdly, the service ethos was naturally attentive, polite, yet light and jovial. Staff were well coordinated, food came fairly promptly, and the main person engaged with us/our kids very naturally. In my opinion, the service levels represent a masterclass of how a restaurant should be - one of the best for Guildford restaurants. Our family our four left with full bellies and excellent comments about Positano. Overall, an authentic experience of Italy -- if this is what it's like in the real town Positano in Italy, we will be making a trip there!

Authentic Italian food at this place. I cannot fault the cooking and taste of the food. It was simply delicious! There is an extensive menu, and I would definitely recommend trying the specials. The drinks menu is also extensive, and put server very kindly recommended a bottle of wine which was paired perfectly with our meal. The wait staff were attentive, and provided an amazing service. Plus, the vibe and cosy interior just makes the whole experience even better. Perfect for an intimate date night, or even a meal out with friends.

This place is always 10/10 everytime I’ve visited. The authentic Italian food is amazing, delicious every time no matter what is chosen on the menu. I had the swordfish this time and it was one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. Very good for the money. Service is never without a smile, attentive and accommodating which adds to the lovely, romantic, intimate atmosphere. Will always return!

Positano is a well-known Italian restaurant in the area, with a charming European cottage-style interior—simple yet elegant, exuding an antique charm. Best restaurant in town! Returning customer for years now. Perfect dining experience for a romantic date night. The food was immense! My amateur photos don’t do it justice. Staff were great, very welcoming and knowledgeable. Really helped us pick a delicious dinner. Decor is really nice! I’ll be back soon again no doubt.

Fantastic meal here tonight! Courteous booking process with a confirmation call received earlier today to confirm our reservation. Service and food was exceptional. Extensive menu with authentic Italian cuisine on offer. The specials were particularly amazing so don’t miss out on these. Popped in by chance at lunch after seeing the high reviews and I must say it is well deserved. The vongole was the best I've had so far in england. It is on the pricey side (£12-16) for some pasta dishes but the service and quality of food is makes it definitely worth it.

Our first visit and we loved it! Definitely book in advance as it is a very popular place. The restaurant is set in an old stone building with low ceilings which gives it a quaint and cosy atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and very Italian, which adds to the vibe of the restaurant making it feel authentic. We enjoyed the starters and the mains very much and we will be visiting again soon I hope!

Wow wow wow! I can’t believe I’ve never been to this restaurant before. But I can say for certain I will definitely come again. The food is so yummy and authentic and the vibes are immaculate. Cannot recommend enough.

A lovely, family-run restaurant where you feel like you're being looked after and your visit is appreciated. Excellent service along with a wide variety of delicious dishes make this place a perfect choice for a great evening out. The staff do not hesitate to offer recommendation, which helps you order if you're undecided. I will definitely come back! 🙂

This restaurant has the potential of being a 5 star, its beautiful inside, has fantastic waiters and a wide array of food options. It's only issue is I found the food to be lacking. For example the caprese salad tomatoes did not taste fresh, leaving the dish being sub par. The mains were passable but were missing that last bit of flavour and freshness to push the food to a 5 star rating. I think more attention to fresher ingredients would go a long way.

Such a good place to dine with family. Really perfect food, large menu, good selection of wines, very friendly staff. Were impressed by food and speed of service. Huge portions, reasonable prices. Very good location - in the middle of historic town. Definitely will be back. Can recommend.

Italian restaurant set in what is basically a maze with impressively low ceilings. Portion sizes are good, food was prepared expertly, staff were so friendly I felt I could play Call of duty with them after work. Highly recommended.

I would say that Positano is the best Italian restaurant in town. They offer incredibly delicious food, and the staff here are both professional and friendly. Cosimo and his team exude enthusiasm and passion for their work, leaving a lasting impression every time I visit. The soufflé is beautifully presented, the tiramisu is delightfully tasty, and the affogato is particularly impressive. Moreover, their prices are reasonable with around 40 for dinner (alcohol drinks included) or 12.15 for two courses lunch set. I have dined at many restaurants around the world, but they remain among the best. Guildford is indeed blessed to have such a restaurant.

Not only The staff here are super friendly and cheerful. The food are fantastic and the set lunch menu is only £12.4 for two courses. I told the waitress it’s my friend’s birthday two days ago, and they gave us a surprise with an ice cream with candle, they are so lovely!! We definitely will come back again and highly recommended coming here for any celebration or special occasions.

Excellent service was provided by a passionate boss & super friendly staff. Dishes were delicious at the good prices. My friends and I experienced a great birthday lunch. Ciao! :) :)

Have wanted to try this restaurant for a while now after hearing such positive things and I can’t wait to return! We sat in the lovely outdoor area and all the food was perfect! Prices were reasonable, as were the portion sizes. Thank you to the staff for being so attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend trying this restaurant if you ever get a chance! :)

What an amazing restaurant. Staff was very friendly , waiters and waitress looked very smart and they were very professional. The restaurant looked very cozy. The food was amazing from start to finish ! The whole atmosphere made us feel like home. I would highly recommend it should anyone visit Guilford.

Absolutely stunning, great staff experience, food was stellar, took my girlfriend here for a dinner and were already planning coming back. For main, myself had the duck al mango, and she had the salmon Al saffron, absolutely georgous uplifting flavours. Desert my other half had the pear cake, apologies forgot the name, and I had the chocolate cake. Highly recommend this little restaurant in Guildford. Interior design makes this even better to, bit of history whilst you dine.

Had a lovely birthday dinner here, we got a table for 9 and the service was immaculate, everybody’s meals came all at the same time so no one had to wait. Everyone was happy with their meals and portions. Bonus point for the maxi pepper grinder.

This Italian restaurant is amazing. We were very lucky to get booked in.The food is beautiful.I love Lamb shank and i must say this has to be the best i have ever had.We celebrated a birthday and wedding anniversary and they made our evening special. If we lived in Guildford it would be a regular dining place for us. Its very reasonably priced too.We could not fault anything.. AMAZING

One of the nicest meals out I've had in a long time. The staff are amazingly friendly from the moment you walk through the door as was the service throughout, very attentive and quick. The food was just incredible and at a reasonable price. I had the pork belly special of the day which was just fantastic. My daughter had the seafood linguine which she said was the nicest she'd ever had and as an Italian cuisine lover, that's saying something indeed! The portion size was great too. Left just enough room for tiramisu, which as it's my favourite dessert, I can honestly say it was one of the best I've tried! Thank you for an enjoyable evening. Will look forward to a return visit.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the incredible food, the wonderful atmosphere and the most attentive, lovely service we have ever received. I can’t wait to come back to Positano and can’t recommend highly enough!!!

A great restaurant with fantastic service, our waitress was polite, efficient and professional, main course of veal was perfect and the drinks were too, but the starter was bland and not nice, didn’t stop us enjoying the evening a lot we will be back. I would have given 5* otherwise.

Visited today for lunch with colleagues, not only their food was absolutely delicious but their staff were most humble and friendly staff I’ve ever seen. I left my scarf behind by mistake so one of their staff ran to give it back to me. Must visit if you are in Guildford. They serve pretty fast even when the restaurant is quite full so perfect for lunch time as well. Thank you so much.

Had a quick dinner here alone, shame that I am too full to have any dessert. Not a fan of tomatoes but both dishes of mine with cherry tomatoes all presents quite well. The texture of swordfish is a bit tight tho, might be better to cook lighter I guess.

Lovely lunch, mussels starter and spaghetti carbonara were delightful. Service is also flawless, waiters great fun and really appreciate your custom. Can’t wait to go back again soon!
