This restaurant is situated within The Berkeley Hotel. The dining room is warm and welcoming. The staff were all exceptionally kind, friendly and extremely helpful, wonderful service throughout our visit. Great menu choice for a Saturday sitting. We chose the 5 course tasting menu with the wine flight. It was worth every penny. The food was outstanding and the wine was paired beautifully. Highly recommend this restaurant and we'll definitely return.

Absolutely fantastic experience. I’ve been to several dozen Michelin starred restaurants and this was certainly on the better side. The staff were extremely professional and they even gave us a kitchen tour for my birthday. Will most certainly return for a full tasting menu.

Exquisite service. I’d included in my booking that I was expecting and that husband and I would be celebrating. The team was extremely kind, they had already a non-alcoholic cocktail menu arranged. They asked if there was anything I would not eat. They even brought me a cushion as they saw I was slightly uncomfortable. The corner table gave us a view of the whole restaurant. Related to the food. My husband got the 7 course menu and I went alacarte. From the ala carte menu starter the quail. It was ok the meat, but the sauce was great. And the onion tartlet that was together it was magnificent. I just eat onions in onion soup and this was amazing. The flavour was incredible. We considered the best flavour of the night. My main was the john dorry fish. I got surprised with the presentation. Pieces of the fish more fried, other in tempura. It was divine and very well served portion. The sauce was delicious. For the 7 course menu, my husband was more keen to the 3 sea food courses. The cod fish with fish eggs had a very unique flavour. The meat for him was ok. Even if he thought the veal was nicely prepared. The desserts the bergamot mousse was the winner in flavour. Just one point we realised that the flavours were really strong in garlic. Half of the meal had some garlic strong presence. I loved the lemon pie petit four. And the passion fruit celebration small treat was very nice. I can’t forget to mention the 3 canapés that started the dinner. One was a cheesebread. Unbelievable good. As a Brazilian the restaurant had won me there. My only negative point of the night it is that Marcus was not there, and we are big fans of him. I would really loved to have a photo with him.

My boyfriend and I came here on 1st March and cannot praise too highly our experience at Marcus. We dined from the tasting menu and the food was delightful; beautifully executed and presented. The room was attractive and calming; everybody smiles and nothing is too much trouble. From our arrival, we were made to feel very warmly welcomed by manager, Benjamin, who made our evening at Marcus all the more personal. The service was professional, but friendly and our waiter Connor was fantastically attentive. The wine list was comprehensive, with excellent pairings by Elton, our sommelier. A special thanks to Benjamin, Connor, Elton and the rest of the team for delivering a very memorable evening that exceeded our expectations. We look forward to dining with you again in the near future.

Absolutely everything about an evening out here is just flawless. The incredible friendliness of the staff is matched by their attention to detail and knowledge of the menu and wines, and then the food itself is sublime. Every single course was on a other level to almost any other restaurant I've tried. We had the 7 course tasting menu and the scallop, sweetbread and beef in particular were knockout dishes, and I definitely recommend not skipping on the cheese cart. We booked in for a birthday so their was a surprise little extra dessert at the end too - the cherry on top of a fantastic experice. If you want to treat yourself to dinner, this is the place to come!

The food was delicious, we ordered the three course menu which was 120 per person. The French wine was amazing, the staff attention was great, however they forgot it was our anniversary even though we confirmed through the website and by phone and told me they would have something special prepared. They even asked at the beginning of the meal but eventually they forgot. This is why I’m giving them 4/5.

Having been to Marcus at the Berkeley and having been dazzled by the service, refined food and and magnificent dinning room some 5 years ago. I was excited to be returning, but was left very disappointed by my visit for a 9pm sitting on a Saturday in December. The service, attention to detail, and atmosphere was distinctly average; not what you would expect for a £500+ meal for two (at the now 1 Michelin starred restaurant have recently lost its 2 star rating) When we arrived there was no one at the front desk (it is also odd that you have to walk through the hotel bar to get to the main attraction) as they went to check for the table we were not offered drinks. When they did seat us it was for a table of 6! It was not the initmate experience we had hoped for. The amuse bouch was served before our drinks and the first course before our wine was served. Far too many waiters all demonstrable yet uninterested as opposed to the invisible efficient passionate service you'd expect. I would go so far as to say the standard of service was very poor. The first two courses were average, but the main course of duck was excellent as was the desert. Its a shame that the music from the blue bar can be heard in the dining room which detracts from the experience and atmosphere. All in all I would not recommend Marcus if you are looking for a dining room with atmosphere, service with panache & style and a night to remember...there are many better choices in London.

Great tasting and service experience! It's what a 2 Michelin star restaurant should be! I went for the lunch menu and it was definitely worth it. Textures, flavors, presentation - everything comes together perfectly. Plus, service is premier - description of the food, always an eye on the tables and a smile. It's the place to celebrate with a loved one or a business meeting for sure.

We were invited to seat at the chef’s table and my relatives was very happy as they can take photos and chat with Marcus. Great ambience and dining experience. The price is not cheap but you get the best quality and service.

I had dinner there and it was a wonderful experience. The waiters and waitresses made me feel pampered. The bread and the starter (both are free) was very nice. The first and second course was heart-wrenchingly delicious. This is arguably the best meal I had in Europe. It was my birthday, and they gave a free mini ice cream cake and some desserts. The service is superbly amazing.

We came here between Christmas and New Year and what a spectacular evening! The food, service and ambience were all outstanding and surpassed our already high expectations! We had the 5 course tasting menu with matching wines and it was our best dining experience in London so far! Thank you so much Marcus for a truly wonderful evening! 💛🤩

Had the Weekend Lunch Set Menu, £60 instead of £55 as it was pre-Christmas. The place itself was magnificent, both hotel and restaurant. Food was generally very good and looked and tasted as how one would think. Slightly let down by service (very surprisingly getting our orders wrong, and bringing our sides with our starters! - must’ve been an unusual bad day for them) and tough venison rump not being cooked enough, hence the 4 stars. Otherwise as enjoyable as one would expect. I feel post-New Year, the value of the Weekend Lunch in particular will improve.

Had a great fine dining experience with their 7 course tasting menu. The most amazing about this place is their staff. Absolutely astonishing. The food was ok for 1* michelin. Overall, enjoyed the evening. Thank you guys, good luck!

We booked this way in advance as it's closing in Dec 2023. Loved every minute of this culinary experience. Exquisite food, awesome service and a real treat! I even got a chef apron to take home :) I had the roasted qual to start, followed by Galloway beef fillet. Jo had the crab and the turbot.

Love the place very much! Very well execution on every dishes in the grand courses with wine and drinks pairing, a must to visit before they are closed down on Dec 26, 2023 and will start a new concept in Feb-2024!... can't wait to see the next new execution from this chef team,...

Definitely a special experience! As many others, we came to know/follow Marcus (and Craig) from Master Chef, so we finally booked to experience his offering of fine dining. It was a high class experience, we were pampered from all the staff, even got a chance to have a quick tour of the kitchen! This dinner was a celebration for us and we were presented with two extra mini-bites to mark the occasion. We went with the 7-course tasting menu and we enjoyed every bit of it. Some dishes were better than others (loved the scallop, the cod, the cauliflower, the venison and the desserts, not super keen for the chicken ballotine, really liked the trout but wasn't able to fully enjoy all elements without a spoon), and overall we were very happy we were able to enjoy this experience. It is not mentioned anywhere (as far as I was able to check), but there is an included service charge of 13.5% or so, which is fine as the service was absolutely fantastic, but some people might find the non-discretionary or negotiable option not ideal, especially given that the bill can rise to very high values with wine. There was also a small added donation (£1) for a relevant charity that we were asked if we wanted to opt in or out. I found this funny, as when the total bill is well in the tripple digits, £1 is definitely not a problem to add. Definitely happy I got to enjoy this experience, looking forward to what the future brings for Marcus and the team!

Absolutely brilliant. Had the 7 course tasting menu which was a celebration of contemporary British cooking. The salmon course and clementine and tequila course were clear standouts and flavours I'll remember. One course completely confused me, the potatoe tart with honeycomb. Potatoe and honey never need to meet each other in such a way in my opinion and the truffle on this course was bewildering. All in all, one of the best fine dining experiences of recent years and I would recommend.

We meet as a 4-some for lunch every couple of years to reminisce about our uni days and various successes and failures since. The food is important as well as the atmosphere. Last time I ate in this restaurant was when it was Petrus - Ramsey had his name over the door but Wareing was flying the plan e. That was in 1999 and to this day it is still the best lunch I ever had. I was naturally excited to eat here again. The service was very professional but not warm. The food was good but made me think of painting by numbers. Lacked the passion and awesome taste I recall from this chef. Maybe if Wareing was as still flying the plane it would have been better. Still a great occasion with very high quality food but I think now aimed at the Knightstbridge insta crowd who care more about cache and less about the food.

I visits Marcus with my parents who were celebrating their anniversary last Friday and they did an impeccable job. We all enjoyed the tasting menu. Since they had very recently reopened, they didn’t have the wine pairing yet, but the sommelier did an excellent job pairing carafes with every few courses - and having a great sense of humor. They had an additional dessert to celebrate their anniversary and every staff member we interacted with sent them well wishes. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant located within the Berkeley Hotel. The team running the restaurant are absolutely lovely and we're incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The food, as you might expect if you've seen any of Marcus Wareings cooking before - is exceptional. It is undoubtedly expensive (don't expect a bottle of wine for under £60) though it is worth every single penny.

Went for a lunch at Marcus last weekend and it was a great experience! I chose the 3 course lunch menu and I can’t believe the total price of this meal was 65£ for a Michelin starred restaurant (no drinks and service included). Service was great, even though I was dining alone the whole experience and food was amazing so I was not bored. The canapés at the beginning were a nice detail. Bread basket was incredible (specially the dark one, forgot what was it but it tasted sweet like chocolate). I went with the salmon for the first course which was ok, not my fav course as it was not very impressive. But the pork was sooo nice and tender!!! Specially the braised cheek which was so soft and yummy. The dessert was also superb, had a similar taste to tiramisu because of the coffee. Thank you for the whole experience, such a shame this beautiful place is closing (hopping to hear the next plans soon!)

A great fine dining experience at the Marcus Restaurant in the Berkeley hotel, which I visited as a treat. Have been a fan of Marcus for sometime since watching Masterchef (since some years) so tasting his menu was a fantastic experience. I went for the 7-course tasting menu (details with photos) and an accompanying wine. The attention to detail, depth/variety of flavours, and service were incredible, which was of no surprise! All dishes worked incredibly well and my favourite was the not-so-humble Roasted Cauliflower! The salsa gave a great earthy flavour that complimented the roasted and crisp cauliflower. That said not everything was perfect. I was surprised the Chicken Ballotine was dry and the celebratory/complementary dessert had a stale chocolate tuile! Would have been better not to serve that at all! I was also very surprised to see a non-discretionary 13.5% service charge (amounting to over £55), which I didn’t expect and is worth knowing (or more transparency to make this clear). Overall, it was a pleasure to have experienced the evening at the Marcus Restaurant! Thanks also for to kitchen tour!

A 1 star Michelin restaurant. We came here for pre Christmas dinner in December and had a great night. Had five course tasting menu. They were all good. Had a glass of champagne (on the house) and amuse-bouche offered. Attentive and polite waiter/waitress.

We went for a 7-course tasting and it was fantastic. Food was good and service was flawless. I was given no chance to pour my own drink, lovely staff kept us attended at every point of the meal and we were there for 3 hours. I made a mistake of eating in advance, don't! 7 meals are very filling even for me and I can eat a lot. In case it is your special day, they will present you with a surprise. We will be back for a la carte menu for another special day.

A flawless experience! We were in for a treat to celebrate our anniversary with the 7 course tasting menu plus the Sommelier choice of wine pairing and wow - it did not disappoint. Food was fantastic (my favorite Michelin star in the world so far) and the service absolutely impeccable. Cherry on top was seeing Marcus himself walking past us and having a bit of a chat, and visiting the beautiful kitchen at the end of the meal. Unique! Can't wait to go back for another special meal.

Great tasting menu. The location was great with a very relaxed atmosphere. Despite it being busy it was quiet slowing you to dine with a good amount of privacy. The food was perfect! Had 7 course dinner here, amazing food and service. Food taste and texture were extraordinary! + I was allergic to some ingredients but staff and chef were very kind enough to suggest substitutes that were even greater :) Thanks so much for everything, definitely would like to come back again.

Amazing venue, staff were attentive... Excellent and we even got to speak to Marcus himself who signed our book... Marcus is right up there in the gods of the Chefs of the UK, so down to earth but with a passion that rivals any of the world renowned chefs which we also highly rate. As we go into lockdown for another month, we truly wish Marcus and his Team well and celebrate an amazing experience for now and hope to see them all again soon.

Amazing food! It was just the perfect evening to celebrate my birthday. What a lovely surprise planned by my boyfriend! We had the seven course tasting menu and also had the wine pairing with it. All the wine complimented the dishes nicely! Staff were nice and made me feel so special. We even went and met Craig (the head chef) — I had a fan girl moment as we were thinking back to all the episodes we had seen him in before he won the season!

As billed, an indulgent treat that showcased food, service and setting. I hadn’t been for many years, but a combination of my daughters’ significant birthday and availability due to a let-up in covid restrictions meant we grabbed a table for the tasting menu. Service was impeccable and the welcome made us very happy before sight of the menu. A top team. Food was excellent, and at the end of the evening you realise how intense and concentrated the flavours had become. Burrata was silken with a guile/caramel crunch; marinaded sea trout was the best I’ve ever had, with fennel singing accompaniment; scallop with a pork rillet on black pudding led to a pork belly and apple. Then a beef dish that was the texture of sashimi-grade tuna - a contrast with the triple-fried potato that was powdered air in crust. A detour through the cheese trolly, then a taste explosion of clementine and Campari, before a parfait to end. I could have skipped the parfait - it felt dry and heavy after the grapefruit. We all agreed that we could eat the clementine Campari thing all day every day, and the scallop was vying with the sea trout for title of Savoury Champ of the night. A memorable evening. Congratulations to the whole team at Marcus to have put on such a great performance even during covid. The venue was immaculate, the staff made mask-wearing look stylish and the whole experience was fantastic.

Food is more traditional style so not our favourite but every dish was quite good. The crumpet and truffle potatoes were perhaps a bit too oily. Beef ribs were delicious as was the chicken liver parfait. The combination of all the courses was a bit heavy for our liking but we’re quite fussy and we prefer gastronomy. Service was patchy until the end our last waiter was lovely.

Wonderful experience at the Marcus. We opted for the cheaper wine pairing and despite carrying the lower price tag they were much better quality than some other recently visited Michelin starred restaurants. The food was amazing as was the service that went with it. The waiting staff was very attentive, without being overbearing. They didn't rush us through the tasting menu like some other Michelin restaurants and the whole experience was just wonderful. It's a shame it's moving and wish other "trendy" Michelin restaurants would learn a thing or two from them before they go.

We visited to celebrate my girlfriends birthday and as a special occasion place did not disappoint. On our table there was a small bag containing a jar of honey and a bottle of cider from Marcus's far along with a hand written happy birthday note. From start to finish everything was perfect. Waiting staff was attentive and friendly, specially our waiter Angelo and our sommelier Elton, both of them made us feel welcomed. The food was excellent and although a few things here and there weren't to our personal taste ( tasting menu first world problems ) the level of cooking was impeccable. We particularly enjoyed the saddle of venison and the gnocchi. Their wine list was one of the most extensive I have seen, with loads of options from almost all wine making regions so there is something for everyone. Fun fact, we spilled some water on our table cloth and the manager immediately noticed, in the best save I have ever seen he offered to show us the kitchen whilst our table cloth was being changed.

Excellent food, terrible service. Felt like the staff did not care for example when the waiter is describing a course and part way through shrugs and mentions a biscuit. Have been to several restaurants of this calibre and the difference was notable. Shame as I love Marcus

I had 3 course private dining dinner at Marcus. The service was great and staff were very attentive. The mains (lamb) and dessert (coffee, bourbon, mascarpone) were incredible but the starter was slightly weak in flavours (maybe the intention, I don’t know). The wines were amazing but be prepared to drop some £££. Also, they serve a soft pillowy bread before starters which is a must try!
