Ciao! Il cibo era buonissimo! What a great night out! The food was really good! The scallops with nduja sauce on top was so good, once you have a bite the spiciness kicks in and Boom! Great flavour! The two pasta dishes were very tasty. The tomatoes sauce had a lot of flavour, those tomatoes! Oh wow! Loved the parmesan sticks, clever starter! Definitely a place to watch! We must come back!

What an amazing restaurant! We have been planning to come here for years but never got the chance, and I decided to take my girlfriend to her birthday dinner there. We came and were greeted properly and there was already a birthday greeting card waiting on the table. The service was just delightful throughout, and we were glad we took the chef’s menu. They made sure our dietary restrictions once again and then the show began. Got some super crusty and airy sourdough along with their own olive oil, made especially for them in Puglia. The starters were a monkfish crudo and a burrata. The buratta was just brilliant. Then we got the capellini pasta with wild mushrooms, that was just wow. Later we had the best fillet steak I had this year and a chocolate bar to die for. My girlfriend got another treat in form of a biscuit with a Nutella like chocolate on it. Great atmosphere and amazing wine service and wines. Will definitely come back again!

So glad that the waitress recommended trying the Pamesan fries. It was one of the best appetizers I've ever tried. The lamb was also excellent. Restaurants in London can always surprise us.

My friend recommended we come here due to the good reviews, as we thought we'd have a go! We had the veggie set menu and everything was delicious, but seemed incredibly expensive compared to other (better) restaurants I've been to. If you've got money to burn, please go. If you don't, there are much better restaurants for similar/cheaper. The staff were super friendly as well, explained everything and you felt as though you could ask them anything.

Hands down the best food in London. Everything was so well presented and tasted out of this world. The service was impeccable to match. We had the pleasure of chatting with Nancy and Christina (I hope I got the spelling right) and they made the experience so memorable. Highly recommended.

One of the highlights of this London trip is definitely my lunch at @luca.restaurant ! Different from the typical menu of pasta and risotto, they offer a variety of creative cooking and all of them were so delicious! The starters were already impressive and so were the rest of the meal! The rigatoni for starter and the yoghurt panna cotta for dessert were the most memorable to me. I must go back to try more!

Had high expectations given the Michelin star but was fairly disappointed. The chefs menu was a strange combination of dishes (burrata for starters and then stracciatella as primi) and not their most inspiring sounding dishes. The primi was well plated but very bland and flavourless and the dessert was probably nowhere near as nice as the other options on the menu (we saw the other desserts on other tables). Nothing was actively wrong with the food, aside from being overpriced. The service was quite rushed (drinks were almost taken away before finishing etc) and not especially friendly. We could hardly hear what was on out plates. Also no one asked to take our coats or double checked on allergies etc. Overall: the restaurant is very nicely decorated and the food is not bad but for the price I wouldn’t say I’d recommend it.

Some of the best Italian we’ve had outside of Italy. We shared several different plates with a table of four so got to try several different plates and all of them were done perfectly and with beautiful presentation. Our server Amy was friendly and fun, and super knowledgeable about the menu. Michelin quality food with family feeling service. Our favorites on the menu were the monkfish crudo, the halibut, and the pasta with rabbit. 6 stars! Would absolutely come back.

Really delicious food at Luca - especially liked the cured monkfish antipasti and the tagliatelle. Some really lovely fresh but rich flavours! Would 100 recommend!

Lovely elegant restaurant in a quiet area in Clerkenwell. Initially it looks like a little quiet bar, but after you pass the bar area towards the back, they have an amazing dinning area. I’m really impressed with the space and design. Apart from the tables, they also have 3 rooms which you can reserve for large groups including an outdoor seating section. The food is delicious and neatly presented, they also serve cocktails and have a lovely selection of wines. The staff is welcoming and helpful, I was very happy to have finally visited.

They stealth-charged us £2 for table water. That's just petty. Food was delicious though and while some of the furniture is aging a little, the restaurant is beautifully designed.

Love love love this italian restaurant! At the front is a cute bar with romantic intimate booths and in the back is the main restaurant which is wonderfully presented, open and spacious. All of this topped off with delicious food!

I should preface this review to state that the food and wait staff were wonderful, but unfortunately they have rat infestation that they are aware of and not doing anything about. My friends and I dined at Luca on September 19th, and sat in the beautiful courtyard. Our dinner ended abruptly when THREE large rats ran over our feet. Additional rats followed running over other diners feet. This was at around 8:30pm in a well lit, loud courtyard. The wait staff simply explained that the rats "climb over wall" and offered to sit us inside. There was no concern and crucially they did not close the courtyard despite multiple parties wanting to come inside. In fact they continued to seat people outside who were not aware of the rats. The general manager was exceptionally rude and proceeded to explain to me - a 33 year old born and bred Londoner - that all London gardens have rats. I have NEVER in my life had rats run over customers feet in a restaurant, from beer gardens to the fanciest restaurant terraces. This is not "normal". This is a health and safety issue. We were offered a whole £8 per person to be removed from the bill, as we hadn't had the dessert course of the tasting menu. It was utterly insulting and ruined a birthday. They left a heavily pregnant woman in our party standing without a seat for upwards of 45 minutes whilst they argued with us about the situation. The story from the manager ranged from this has never happened before to rats in a restaurant being the norm. She continually lied saying she was closing the courtyard, whilst we watch them seat new customers. It was condescending, it was dangerous and all in all - utterly shocking. I have reported them to Islington Council.

A more casual Michelin starred restaurant offering really good Italian inspired dishes. The pasta dishes are well balanced and the main courses are on point. There is no doubt you will get food here. My main comment is on the atmosphere, the background music was rock and roll with upbeat tracks. It doesn't go well with the refined high quality dishes in front of you. I'm still giving overall 5 stars because they can easily change the playlist 👍

Luca a phenomenal restaurant from start to finish. it is rare that I ever give 5 stars to a restaurant. it is even rare I give 4 stars. in this case, it is an easy 5. I’ll start with the decor, the place is simply stunning, giving you a feeling of a high end restaurant in Sicily. Staff were exceptional. very attentive and knowledgeable. excellent wine selection and a phenomenal sommelier (who’s also the GM and looked after us the whole evening) - Stephan. we were 2 and ordered 9 dishes and 5 desserts. ofc, all staff members were shocked. but we’ve had to try. we don’t go east often. plus, this is how we roll. I’ll start with the phenomenal bread which is made by a separate bakery and it is simply phenomenal. accommodating throughout the whole meal, as you dip the bread and the mouthwatering genius sauces. their Sicilian olive oil is to die for. how can an olive oil be this exceptional? the parmesan fries were to die for. such thin batter that melts in your mouth, made me think - how the hell it didn’t break frying it! the Monk fish starter was probably one of the best dishes of the night. so as the burrata with the fig, beetroot and hazelnut. both dishes had multiple textures and flavors accumulating throughout. seconds after you took the bite. the scallops were boring and I’d avoid ordering. we’ve had 3 pastas, the Rabbit Tagliatelle was good but missing salt. the Cappelletti and Tortelli were both amazing. empowering and full of flavor. The lamb was made to perfection but had too many things on the plate. so I’d simply would of had just the lamb with the goats curd and would of found the dish perfect. everything else took away for the perfectly cooked meat. the halibot was great but nothing exceptional. all 5 desserts were amazing. very light and simply accurate. I would avoid the mains and focus on the Anti Pasti, Primi and desserts.

Utterly magnificent. I have had the good fortune to eat in thousands of restaurants, nothing beats Luca. Apart from suggesting you start with the exceptional Parmesan fries you should order what you like, everything is amazing. The presentation is superb and the flavours are fresh and complex. Every member of staff seemed one step ahead and made each of us feel valued. Simply astonishing. The lighting, temperature seating and decor was perfect.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. We got the lunch express menu, and each course was well-thought out and delicious. Even the bread we got at a starter felt unique and tasted amazing. My trout was very tender and the warm tartar sauce was tangy and paired well with the fish. The portions were good size and I felt full afterwards. The pannacotta dessert was a little too sour but the tiramisu was perfect.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing. We had a quick drink at the waiting area and then we moved to the dinning room. The waiters were very friendly and professional. We were impressed by the food and the portions were sufficient. We would recommend this restaurant, especially for a special occasion!!!

A great way to celebrate a special occasion, the food goes between good and amazing, the staff is patient, polite and very accommodating. The tasting menu is good value and the wine list has a good selection and is reasonably priced. We also received a surprise from the chefs, to celebrate the occasion, thank you!

Exquisitely superb experience in this modern Italian cousine restaurant - with an English twist. Booking in advance is mandatory: ask for a table in the room at the back, which is flooded with natural light coming from the full height windows.

I was extremely excited for Luca, walked past it many times on my way to work and always wanted to try it. I have to preface this review by saying the food and interiors were great. I never usually give reviews (especially bad ones) but I was really disappointed. I booked this restaurant for my boyfriends birthday and was looking forward to a nice experience. The service was extremely slow. I’m quite tolerant of this but it was clear none of the waiters and waitresses were paying attention to our table. I wrote in our reservation notes and reminded the waitress in person it was my boyfriends birthday, only for them to forget while serving other people something special for their birthday. We don’t expect much but to have reminded several times and seeing everyone else served was extremely awkward. I really wanted to give Luca a good review, I hope they improve their service. We paid over £200 pounds for 2 people and would say the food was worth it but not the service.

One of the best meals I’ve had out in London. Beautifully refined Italian food served to us at the bar along with cocktails and wine pairings. Can’t fault it, definitely coming back soon. Make sure you order the Parmesan fries the moment you’re seated... and the lemon tart can’t be missed either.

I went to Luca with a friend for a post-lockdown dinner on the Friday after they reopened, and it was phenomenal. The menu was on point, the staff were impeccable and the environment was incredibly chilled and welcoming. The team clearly worked so hard to produce an elevated evening, but made it feel effortless. The experience reminded us both why going out for dinner can be something special and unique, incomparable to what anyone could achieve at home. Go, have an amazing time, and put some cash in the pockets of these wildly talented people.

What a restaurant! From the welcome, all the way through the service was on point. Food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Chef’s Menu and every dish was immaculately presented and superb. The whole restaurant looks beautiful and we were lucky to get a table outside where you could easily mistake being away in Italy somewhere. The only minor negative detail was the sommelier didn’t know what food we would receive so we didn’t know if we should order red, or white wine. We guessed and luckily got it right. Would highly recommend and will 100% be returning.

The food is great and the atmosphere is really nice. We got the chef menu, the fish crudo, the burrata and the tortellini were our favourite. The pork was delicious but I think by the time we got to the pork we were already really full, and then followed by a really heavy chocolate dessert. I think in terms of menu logic, it would’ve been smarter to finish off with something lighter or more acidic to cut off the fattiness of the pork. We had a great night, but this meal definitely felt overpriced, the ingredients are fresh and probably seasonal but with that price we expected a bit more expensive ingredients.

I was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant, having read the great reviews. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were offered a table in the lovely courtyard. The food was delicious and the service was great, we were all planning our next visit to the restaurant. However, just before we were served our desserts, a RAT jumped down from the foliage surrounding the courtyard and ran across my foot, whipping my ankle with its tail. This rat wasn't alone either, we then witnessed another THREE RATS run across the courtyard. We also weren't the only ones to see them, one couple left the restaurant and another moved inside, to finish their meal. A staff member also told us that this wasn't the first time that they had been spotted there. I checked the FSA website and was shocked to see that Luca only has a 3 star rating. One would expect a restaurant of this calibre to pass an inspection with flying colours.

Don't believe the hype. While the ambiance of this restaurant is great and service is obviously organised with care, the quality of the food is no better than an average Italian restaurant and the price markup is ridiculous. With a 10£ surcharge for pasta as a main we ended up having primi at almost 30£ (+service charge of course). Ok for the really good ravioli but the ragù in my pasta was criminally liquid. Forgettable starters as well, both the scallops (tiny, unimaginative) and the burrata. Very expensive wine list as well. Two stars for the really low value for money.

Amazing experience in Luca. We decided to try differente plates to get the full experience. As starters we shard the parmesan fries which were pure cheesy heaven. They also offered sourdough bread with the most amazing Italian olive oil. And the burrata was a good combination of a good bufalla mozzarella with sweet melon, salty prosciutto ans herbs. The tartare was unusual and tasty. For pasta dishes we had a version their version of carbonara which was great and a ragu with penne. Desert was a lemon curd, with lemon ice-cream, raspberry coulis and merengue, one of the best I have tasted. The red wine, suggested by the staff, paired well and it was delicious. Finally the service was also 5 stars, the staff was attentive, very nice and always there when you needed them. Definetly a resturant and experience I recommend!

Best Italian in London! Great space that is so cozy and intimate, perfect for a romantic dinner or a special occasion. The staff that we engaged with were amazing, very friendly and welcoming which made our dining experience even more enjoyable. The standout dishes are the fresh pasta. Every bite is a burst of flavour, and you can taste the quality of the ingredients. The parmesan fries were also ridiculous. At first it may seem pricey but you get what you pay for and after the meal you realise the prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the service. Luca is a hidden gem in the city that's definitely worth trying. Whether you're a fan of Italian cuisine or just looking for a new dining experience! I will definitely be back.

An amazing experience here and couldn’t recommend more, one of the best meals I’ve had! We went for the chefs menu for the element of surprise and was not disappointed as it was all delicious with no rush. Burrata and monkfish ceviche for starter (bets burrata I’ve had so creamy), primi was pumpkin tortelli, mains one fish and one dear then dessert a torte. Such a nice atmosphere and Gloria our waitress was so friendly and nice. Can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful space and the food was absolutely incredible! The burrata starter and parmesan fries were a highlight, definitely recommend ordering both. Service was very attentive and our waiter was friendly. We sat at the bar area which was nice but next time will definitely try the main dining area which seemed more romantic.

It's been such a long time since I have had dinner at 9pm. (only booking we could get last moment in the weeks leading up to Christmas.) Now to the important part, OMG this place is amazing. I'm not a high end foodie so I may not be able to do this place justice in terms of description. But the food is amazing, the variety, the tastes, the quality - it all matched up to be a beautiful meal. (silly way to explain how good it was but food made with love.)

I loved the food at Lucas and the restaurant decor is no nice! We were sat in the terrace and had a great time. They have fantastic non alcoholic wines which was a plus for me. The food is incredible and would recommend this place highly. The only thing I noticed (feedback for the restaurant) is that staff were very rigid / very serious, not much interaction or suggestions etc which you would exit from this type of place.

I booked the ‘Pasta Room’ here for my proposal, and had a 7 course Prix Fixe Menu. Shannon from the bookings team was helpful and always at hand to answer queries and relay messages. Anastasia was our waitress and the general manager (whose name I’ve sadly forgotten, sorry!) were fantastic throughout the whole evening. Being in a private dining room made the experience so much more intimate, and at no point did we feel like we were forgotten or lacking service. The food was stunning. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Luca is a gem - stellar service and staff; inventive and fresh ingredients that reflect the season. The monkfish crudo with fennel, chilis, white peach and mint just melted into perfection. The lobster tagliatini was perfect - rich of flavour but the exact proportion to keep the overall meal light. We decided to visit Luca to celebrate a friend birthday. We had orkney scallops with nudja sauce and monk fish crudo as starters, both dishes were delicious. We had three lobster pasta and one Halibut as main dishes, sadly the Lobster pasta didn't meet our expectations. The chef completely ruined the dish by using basil as garnish, the pasta was slightly overcooked and taglierini would work better with crab rather than lobster. We ordered as dessert panna cotta and cherry tart, both dessert were excellent. Considering the cost of the evening- including three bottles of wine and three glasses of Francia corta- £ 515.86 the overall experience was just ok, I wouldn't rush back!!

The epitome of a hidden gem. Luca sits quietly, humbly in Clerkenwell, yet inside reveals a wonderful dining room and a comfortable, greenhouse feel terrace, perfect for summer dining. The menu is a little dear and the portions are a little on a small side but the plating is true showmanship and the flavors are exacting and tremendously agreeable to the pallet. Great for a posh date or business lunch.

Went to Luca yesterday after I read about it on conde nast and it really really didn’t disappoint. Entering the restaurant it looks quite small, then it opens up to a huge back dining area with floor to ceiling windows. The team were well set up in terms of Covid and people were wearing masks when stepping away from tables. We were served by Sara who was so lovely and so knowledgeable about the food and wine. She guided us through the afternoon and was just a pleasure to talk to. The food was utterly amazing. We had lamb, which was succulent and just out of this world. Bucatini, burrata, scallops, the choux pastry fries with Parmesan which were just insane. For desert we had the amazing pistachio olive oil cake and the amalfi tart. We washed this down with some lovely wine chosen by Sara. Thank you so much guys. Truly loved the place and will definitely be back.

Squid ink pasta could have done with a bit more flavour but still hit the mark, cod cooked beautifully and the beef was on point. Recommended wine matched perfectly. Spotted a celebrity sitting at the table behind is too. Highly recommend!

Amazing birthday meal at Luca. Couldn't fault any of the food or wine. Restaurant is beautiful inside and certain a place for a special occasion. Only negative was that the music wasn't very good and could have been more subtle to improve the vibe.

We went in for a quick lunch and loved it! The 3 course menus was excellent, and very affordable for such high quality. The service was great too!

Took clients for lunch. We sat in the courtyard which was beautiful. Food was awesome, service was spot on. We will definitely go back!

Sit at the bar for fluffy Parmesan chips, truffley cheese toasties and pots of homemade hazelnut ice-cream. In the restaurant, glistening Parma ham aged for 28 months is a hard-to-beat way to kick things off. Some serious cash has gone into the antipasti: beef carpaccio with oyster emulsion; sea robin crudo with buttery Capezzana olive oil; turnip tops with smoked cod's roe. Skip mains if you have to, just take the hint from the properly inviting open pasta kitchen and save space for the ravioli (right now filled with grouse).
