We’ve been going there for Xmas dinner for the last few years now. Initially the food was really good but gradually got worse- I literally had half of the carrot and 1 potato on the plate this year along with a veg wellington which I wish I didn’t order and the spoonful of fruit as a fresh fruit salad for a dessert. While I understand that they have a lot of bookings and the standard of food can slip, the service is truly shocking, if you want to order a drink I would suggest to order it day before and it might arrive 2 hours after your arrival to the restaurant following day, when ordered other drinks, only half of them arrived and had to chase the rest multiple times- we did 3rounds and each time it was exactly the same. It’s not any quicker to order the food. Had to ask for a bill few times and in the end got up, put my coat on and paid on my way out. Won’t be returning next year for sure

Went here for the evening menu. Every course was nice, especially the beef bouginyon which was delicious, though I'd have preferred more sauce. Seeing what food options before choosing is good and adds a unique experience, but the waiting staff although lovely, came across as a bit impersonal and too scripted. There were so many cakes to choose from I forgot the first few. A menu for cakes would have been handy. Prices high(but reasonable for this kind of restaurant) No music Wheelchair friendly Not dog friendly Had no problems with parking Smart/ smart casual wear

I have to say, looking at other peoples afternoon teas, looks like we picked the wrong one. The concept of the gentleman's afternoon tea was interesting, but falls short. While the scones, beef sandwiches and fish chip butty were nice. The cottage pie, was surprisingly devoid of taste and cold. Considering cottage pie is one of the easiest meals to make and reserve, this was poor. Beyond underseasoned. Now it being cold, does sometimes happen when they're busy. In their defence, they did provide a replacement that was warm. But still, entirely tasteless. Like they didn't use any stock. The other negative, was being in the corner it was hard to get service. Considering we did book, it was a poor seat with a long wait for service. On another day with a different order and table, these things might not have happened. Could have had an entirely positive review, as many others had. But sometimes it goes this way I suppose.

Came in for Sunday lunch with a large group. Menu had varied options without being unnecessarily large. I went with the chicken liver parfait for my appetiser and the lamb for my main. Food arrived at well paced intervals and was always at the correct temperature. A lovely afternoon out. I would highly recommend as a Sunday option.

Great treat night out, it is unique and definitely something to remember a spacial occasion. The food was extraordinary but pay attention and choose wisely when the food is presented as the beef meal was overpowered by the horse radish. Overall a great selection of meals and all very tasty, we struggled to fit in all of the courses but they do offer a take out if you can't fit the desert and cheese board in. Be prepared for a late one as dinner at 8 finished after 11, so late taxi or drive home. Not cheap but very special.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. Upon arrival we were greeted by the waitress who took us to our table straight away. Drinks were brought over promptly before our orders were taken around 5 minutes later. The food was delicious and fresh, and each course took around 10 minutes to be brought out. The staff were attentive and professional, and asked how our meals were throughout the experience. Portion sizes were perfect for a three course lunch. The interior was a fair size, and there is also an upstairs dining area for groups/events. Overall I would visit again in the future. Only drawback would be the limited number of parking spaces outside.

SUPERB . . Went for dinner for £25 and it was absolutely fantastic . We've been for dinner at 8 and loved that so thought we'd try the 3 course dinner . Good selection of courses , friendly staff everything flowed very nicely , my pigeon and spicy cauliflower starter was especially nice . Highly recommend trying Pecks it truly is worth it . I thought the dinner at 8 sounded a bit expensive but it was worth every penny they show you every dish before you order , every course is amazing it makes a lovely evening

We went for the dinner at eight and what can I say. It was absolutely amazing. I've never enjoyed the food so much. For a person who can be a bit fussy with flavours I was blown away with how the food was presentated to us before we made our choices. All staff were friendly and knew there stuff. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

I bought my mum and dad an afternoon tea voucher for Christmas have done for the last 3 years as the food has been excellent however this time they were very disappointed!!! The sausage meat In the sausage roll was gristly, the coleslaw has big chunks of hard cabbage, the prawn cocktail had hardly any sauce they had to make more to cover the thick chunks of the iceberg lettuce. The pate was very strong and the curry sandwich they had to leave as it was far too strong and salty!!! The ham in the sandwiches was very fatty too - very disappointing for me as I bought it as a treat £45 I won’t be spending again 😞

Went for a significant family birthday party and was very impressed with choices on menu, friendly and efficient staff, excellent room and cleanliness of facilities. Bit of a long way to come from North Wales, but well worth the trip and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thank you for making a special occasion even more special.

What a fabulous visit my friend and I have had today. The High tea was delicious with a lovely selection. The addition of a mini fish and chips a great innovative touch. The front of house staff are a credit and such lovely young people. Would say one if not the best afternoon tea I’ve had and I’ve had a few. Would recommend 100%

Fantastic experience, service and atmosphere. We went to Pecks for my finances birthday and attended the dinner at 8 meal. We were greeted with a warm and friendly reception. The meal was intimate and each course is presented to you before selection. A wide range of choice is available and the 7 courses were really superb. My personal choice is the deserts and there are genuinely too much choice. For a special occasion or meal when you are paricuslly hungry. Highly recommended and we will be returning soon 👏👏

Thought £30 per head was a bit steep for Sunday lunch but how wrong was I. Food was 3 courses of excellent dining pleasure. All perfectly cooked and presented with decent portion sizes. The only criticism is on the drinks. As you have to drive to the place, you get a lot of "nominated drivers" and the only alcohol free drink that was not "pop" was Heineken zero, in this day that is a bit of a disappointment as there are so many alcohol free "adult drinks". Would I go again? Definitely yes but would prefer to drink something other than coke.

4 of us went for Sunday lunch to celebrate a silver wedding anniversary & a birthday. We had had our wedding meal there 25 years ago. Staff very efficient, polite & helpful. Food excellent although we were sad to see they no longer do the large selection of lovely desserts that they used to. Dined upstairs were it was peaceful & no echoing floors. Thank you for helping us to remember our lovely day 25 years ago.

We chose Pecks for an afternoon tea for all our family to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. We were a group of 14 including 6 grandchildren, some adult vegetarians and one adult with a nut allergy!! Pecks we’re absolutely fabulous at accommodating all our menus, nothing was too much trouble. During the afternoon we ordered extras and many varied drinks, each time the waitresses were so kind, polite and helpful! Our family visit lasted from 1.00pm to 4.30pm, which should give some indication how happy and comfortable we all felt in such a pleasant atmosphere!!! Thank you, so much to the manager and all staff. We will be sure to visit you again, although it may not be in such a large number!!!😂 John C

Every time we’ve visited Pecks it’s been an excellent dining experience. For a restaurant which seems in the middle of nowhere to consistently provide such great food and service is no small feat. From arrival at 07:30pm till leaving at 11:45pm the staff were attentive and knowledgeable and it’s unusual for a dinner service to last this lengthy period and never a dull moment ! Thanks again to all the team.

A lovely blend of traditional based dishes but with a great extra style and taste. Excellent. A very nice atmosphere and friendly service. We realised that the last time we went to Pecks was last century (really!) - we will not miss out again and will be back soon!

Have been for many years and came again last Saturday night for a special Birthday celebration with 30 friends & family. It was really excellent. The food, wine and overall experience was amazing. Many thanks to Ben the Manager and all of the staff for such a great night. Ben was really helpful with the planning of the event and was very accommodating at all times. Can't thank them enough

Our very favourite place to dine. Perfect for a boozy brunch, a special lunch with a group of friends, an intimate date night, or a family celebration. A very special place to our family and visiting here on our 13th birthdays has become a treasured tradition.

First time for Sunday lunch with the family, excellent service, staff were polite, attentive and knowledgeable when asked about different items on the menu. Food was delicious, good choice on all the 3courses well presented too. Nothing seemed too much trouble. So nice to be able to still visit a venue that provides linen napkins and tablecloths makes it extra special. Thanks to you all for a lovely time well done 👍.

Lovely Afternoon Tea and Gent's Afternoon Tea which we shared between the two of us to increase the selection even more. Plenty of great food and a box provided to take away anything you can't finish. The only comment is that the two sandwiches were the same and couldn't be changed, but that certainly didn't detract. Bar drinks are also available to increase your dining choice.

Had a lovely 10th anniversary "dinner at 8" @pecks it was great being able to see the dishes before making a decision and I enjoyed every course. There's are lots of dessert options and if you can't decide you can have a half portion of 2 different ones, then you can opt for either a cheese course or ANOTHER DESSERT. That said we were throuroughly stuffed after our first dessert course so we opted to have our cheese/dessert to take away. There was also the option of tea/coffee to finish. My only negative comment is that we were there over 20 minutes before being offered a drink, this would have been OK if there had been water on the table but we were served appetisers before any drinks were provided meaning that when I ate something I hadn't tried before there was nothing to wash away the taste... Once we had our first drinks we were not offered another for a significant amount of time and my husband had to ask repeatedly if he could get another drink before they came to get his order. As others have said the interactions with servers are very scripted to the point that one nervously asked if we were celebrating a special occasion at which point my husband looked pointedly at the happy anniversary balloons above us 🙈 As we were leaving I asked what the "petit fours" we would have been served with the coffee were out of curiosity... none of them had any idea, went to ask the kitchen and never returned... It would be better if each server had designated tables, checked you had enough water/drinks throughout the dinner service. Overall though great food, great concept and I would definitley go again for a special occasion.

Lots of well cooked food. Great service. Flavourings could be stronger but meat for the main (not pictured) was very tender.

I had high expectations about Pecks from what I had heard . But I was disappointed with the lunch time menu . The starter was chicken liver pate swirl on a baked pastry , very small portion glad we were served some bread with it ...my main Turkey with bubble n squeak was dry, I had to request some gravy which was not offered nor was any cranberry sauce . Half of a small boiled potato quartered , a small carrot and a battered end of a parsnip , a turkey breast slice without any gravy it was dry . Cheesecake amazing .. Staff warm and friendly and a nice atmosphere to the restaurant, Based on this I doubt I would return in a hurry . But puds to go are on the cards someday ,, rum n raisin cheesecake , or key lime pie ...
