First time we have been here even though we live in Cornwall. We went at lunchtime and had beetroot salmon scallops, charred wild sea bass and turbot. Expertly prepared and totally delicious. The staff were warm and attentive and we felt very safe that all Covid precaution were being meticulously adhered to. Definitely coming back!

Omg! Now this is hands down the best restaurant in Cornwall. We had such a nice experience. You have to book in advance as a warning. We booked a month in advance and the only availability was 10pm - luckily they called us a week before to say there was a 9pm slot. The service was friendly and excellent. The drinks were good. The food is the real game changer though. My fish and chips were the best I’ve ever had. The whole ambiance of the place is nice too. Certainly worth a visit if in Cornwall

Pricey (as expected) but food was simple and didn't have the expected wow factor. I know that the recipes champion the ingredients but they were pretty minimalist. Good for a one off special occasion. Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. Recommended as a place for couples.

Food was exquisite as you would expect. Staff were great, friendly, professional and COVID aware (wearing face coverings etc). Highly recommend if you are ever near by to experience high quality delicious seafood

It's lovely. This was a special treat for me, children took fine dining off the menu for me so being here felt special and the restaurant delivered. Very professional staff very knowledgeable on the food, wines even having knowledge of the decor very well trained in my opinion all were very accommodating and lovely. Menus were varied with varying prices dishes from approx £25 to much more. We had the set menu three courses for a very reasonable £27 it felt like you were robbing the place but it was offered with a charitable donation too so everyone benefits. With some bread and drinks we paid a little over £100 for a meal for two. There is plenty of parking unfortunately you're looking at parking from the window of the restaurant that is unless you have the best company so I didn't notice outside personally. Your coats are taken upon arrival and this I loved what a great extra touch. With the very warm welcome, attentive staff and excellent fresh tasting food I would say our time here was excellent and I would choose to return.

Not pretentious at all. This was beautiful, wholesome meals. So many wonderful flavours. Extensive wine menu. Car parking close by. Friendly staff.

Went for a friends birthday was not dissapointed . Each course was beautifully presented. I thought the scallops could have been removed from the shells before cooking though and then added back in, as it was difficult to detach them without ripping them apart. I had the lobster which I enjoyed. The staff were attentive .the ambience good. The toilets well appointed. Will return

Very nice place, food was nice but not exceptional and very over priced! We enjoy eating in good restaurants but paying £45 each for fish with no extras and a starter of just smoked salmon on my plate was disappointing. I must say though the service was exceptional! we feel have done it now but wouldn't return due to the price to dine there!

Had such a great meal followed by an overnight stay with breakfast. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The room was the comfy room with plenty of space and such relaxing decor. Loved it and would recommend everyone to try it.

Been wanting to eat here for a long time, and it didn't disappoint. Not cheap, but for the quality, service and location not necessarily bad value. Would definitely go again.

My husband surprised me with dinner at the seafood restaurant for my birthday. We had the scallops and I tried a seafood curry for the first time and was genuinely shocked that I enjoyed it (i’m not keen on most fish dishes). But this was absolutely worth the money. Would definitely recommend this place 🥰

This is without a doubt the best seafood I have ever eaten. In particular, I really liked how every dish had a short “bio.” It showed me that there was a story to the food. My highlights were the sashimi scallops and the seared salmon escalopes.

Extensive menu, lovely wine selection. Really lovely meal in lovely surroundings and very well run. All staff were on the ball. Delicious food. Is on the dearer side, but worth it for a treat.

The service was excellent. Given its ‘celeb’ chef name and location, I’d say reasonably priced. We paid £400 for party of three with a bottle of wine, appetiser, starter, main and dessert each. My main gripe is that the food was all round bland. The fish was cooked well but it didn’t really taste of much. The hunk of spinach on my plate sat there like a lump and the new potatoes were waxy and wrinkled. It might just have been the menu at the time. Or perhaps I’m a philistine when it comes to simple fish cookery! It just left me a bit - meh. The heritage tomato was poor. I’ve had better tomatoes from supermarkets and, unlike the simple fish, they were overly dressed in acidity. For the price of the dish I was also expecting a whole burrata rather than sprinkled bits of one. The fondant was excellent, however! I should’ve complained in the restaurant, and I usually do, but the ambience was nice as was the orange wine after a couple days hiking. Didn’t want to be dampener!tom

We had a wonderful experience here. The food was just delicious. We had Lobster risotto & scallops for our starters which was delicious. Then for mains we had the grilled sole with potatoes. It was so tender and tasted beautifully with the butter sauce. The restaurant is expensive but worth it, i would definetely come back again. The staff were very helpful and reccomended excellent wine pairings and other drinks.

A second visit for us and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing. I highly recommend the Indonesian Seafood curry. The scallop starter is also not to be missed. The staff were friendly and helpful with dietary requirements. A lovely relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend.

The food was delicious, the portions are just right and the presentation is lovely. I would eat the halloumi starter every day if I could, it is delicious and light and so tasty! The seafood stew was also a well thought out, beautifully balanced dish.

Been a great admirer of Rick Stein over the years and finally got to go here. The service from the start was superb. A big thank you to all the staff for making us so welcome. Lots of choice. My wife had the grilled scallops and I the Ragout of turbot to start followed by the fish and chips and Indonesian Fish curry. Both delicious. For dessert, the lemon tart went down smoothly. 🙂 Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would wholeheartedly recommend a visit. One little point about sustainability. I think they need to include provenance of the food and whether it is from sustainable stocks.

Simply first class, excellent service lovely atmosphere, but more importantly, the food was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. We had a great meal and time here, Rick Stein is still delivering a great product at his original restaurant.

A gorgeous Boxing Day meal. Three generations of family brought together over good drinks and good food. The service was immaculate and attentive, without being snooty or cold. Elena was a ray of sunshine throughout - warm and lovely, cracking jokes while refreshing our wine and our smiles. Firetruck red prawns leaving peach stains on fingertips and warming frangelico is a lovely way to spend a day with loved ones, gazed down upon by a jilted lover captured in paint.

First time at the Seafood Restaurant. Booked for our wedding anniversary. Staff were friendly and service excellent. Had olives and pickled anchovies before sardines as a starter followed by the brill for 2 people. We have never eaten brill before and was very happy with our choice. Too full to finish with a dessert unfortunately. Good ambiance. Not too noisy either which we tend to find in some restaurants. Would definitely visit again.

A bit of a shame! We’d looked forward to this meal for so long and being a big fan of Rick Stein’s tv shows (and restaurant local to us in Winchester) THE restaurant in padstow was a bit of a disappointment. We spent £210 on a two course meal for two with drinks and it just didn’t hit the mark. I cannot say there was anything specifically wrong but the service was not great and the food was mediocre, a drink was forgotten and when we asked for the bill, it took around 5 minutes to come. I’ve never really left a bad review but this left us feeling we didn’t have good value for money. Maybe it would have been different on another day… I hope you have a better experience.

When in Padstow you absolutely HAVE to try one of Rick Steins eateries! The Cafe was fully booked for weeks, and we really wanted try the Moules. So luckily we were able to make a reservation at The Seafood Restaurant. The service was excellent. Really good, friendly and attentive staff. Fantastic menu choices. Reasonably priced (for Rick) 🙃 We shared a Mackerel starter that was delicious. Then we had the seafood share plate for two. We could not believe the size of it! Crab, Lobster, Mussels, Scallops, Whelks and lots more!! We managed to get through it all. I think I had more than my wife though to be fair. Obviously a different presentation as to how we have it on The Gold Coast in Australia, but well worth the experience. Recommended 👍

This would be our 5th visit to the restaurant and we have never been let down. The staff go above and beyond, the drinks are lovely and the food is amazing! This time we had scallops, fish and chips and Indonesian seafood curry and it was all delicious and well worth the money! It was also mine and my wife’s anniversary and they created a nice little desert dish for us. Will definitely be returning again!

The freshest of fish is the star and the point of the show. Why go for anything else! Classically cooked, not messed around with beyond what’s needed to point up the flavours of the fish. Three great courses, not one a miss, lovely service, and ambiance.

We booked to celebrate two birthdays. Perfect choice, it’s a perfect blend of high end food and relaxed atmosphere. Our greeting, our server and Sommelier were excellent. The food was top class too. I had Singapore fish curry as my main. Loved it.

Holiday treat, excellent good and superb service. Comfortable surroundings and excellent food. Not as expensive as we thought it was thing to be.

This was a must for my wife, who has been a fan of Rick Stein for many years. I booked for her birthday in November, and we were very much looking forward to it. I honestly think it was a little overpriced, and our meal at the Old Custom House the following day was probably just as good but considerably less expensive. At the Seafood Restaurant, I had the oysters and sausage for starter but think that the sausage was way too salty, (but that is only my opinion). That being said, the food was beautifully presented as well as the restaurant and the staff were absolutely fantastic. Going to this restaurant was not only about the food, but it was also the experience, and we would hope to go back again.
