If there is one place harder to get a seat than Noma, its Tickets in Barcelona. After a zillion attempts and calls I mangled to get a bar table.And boy it was worth it. This was my second visit to Barcelona and to Tickets and it was just as good as I remembered. Unlike many other restaurant, I felt like the vegetarian food was made vegetarian; not a meat dish that was substituted with a vegetarian produce. THE Experience The reservations are given 10 minutes apart and you can arrive only 5 minutes prior to your table. Once you enter the restaurant, you're handed over your "ticket to Tickets". At tickets, its all about the experience. Unlike many Michelin stars / fine dining restaurants, Tickets has no dress code, its a very chill atmosphere and everyone who works there is super passionate about the food - and you can order a la carte! You also have the option to let your waiter decide (which is what I did both times) and they order the famous dishes and midway check how hungry you are and then order accordingly. As all this wasn't enough, the true experience of Tickets is in its secret (not so secret) room - the dessert room. Pictures don't do it justice, it is just one of those things that you have to go and check it out yourself.

We were trying to get the table approximately one year every time we were in Barcelona. Of course we were so excited to go when we’ve got the reservation! We had a suggestions menu. We were sitting in the restaurant during 2 hours and eating for 2 seconds the dishes they brought to us..as they were so small, standard size is just for one bite. Of course we understand the portions can be small in this kind of places, but I don’t remember any other tapas bar where we were sitting all the evening on an empty table. Absolutely nothing special about food, no dish impressed us. They charge you things you don’t always order, they bring you water you don’t ask. We left absolutely hungry and disappointed and it’s so sad we didn’t do it after third-four dish, when it was clear that all reviews are just a fraud. I’ll never recommend to eat there. In Barcelona there are so much places you can really enjoy the tapas concept.

I must say that our experience was subpart​ at best. Our waiter did not speak English, explained our dishes mechanically, service was slow and very sloppy, the food was uninspired and mediocre, we had to chase waiters for water whom accidentally mixed our sparkling water with flat water and seemed to careless when notified. For the price we paid of 732.10 euros for four people we expected a lot more. We felt like a side note. Our reservation was at 22:00 and it felt like we were the table holding the staff from closing the restaurant. It's a shame.

The food was creative and well prepared. The service was part of the “in the style of a old ice cream parlor look & feel” Not a comfortable atmosphere.There was too much running around with the servers for a relaxing feeling. We specified that we did not want spicy, but it was ignored. The wine service was clear and well executed.

As a foreigner, process of getting a reservation online was ridiculous, but certainly try because this was one of the best restaurants we went to in Barcelona. There was a choice of tasting menu where they keep serving you dishes until you say stop, or ordering a la carte. We opted for a la carte, but it seemed most other tables didn't. Every dish was presented beautifully and tasted refined and delicious. Tapas were approximately 5 euros per portion. For two people you would need 2 portions. There were also some main dishes that were around 15-20 euros. In total we ordered approximately 9 tapas double portion, and a starter to share. We are small eaters. For dessert they give you a surprise. I won't give it away here but suffice to say dessert was also good. Although variety was less than for main courses and portions I felt were also smaller. It seems the dining experience is designed to get you to order the most number of dishes. But that's understandable, and given how good everything was, just accept and enjoy the food and experience.

I got a table after 4mth it was definitely worth the wait fabulous liquid olives a notable tomato tartare porcini pasta desserts stood out the desert room is fun amazing chocolate cheese sesame chocolate butter biscuits all Devine.

What an amazing experience, over 4hours and 10 courses. Cannot say enough about this place, it is worth the hype and the wait. Each dish is made with care and has a wine pairing. The Tuna Belly Caviar combination is simply divine, melt in your mouth. The crab Avocado is upgraded to the next level. There is a surprise for dessert, a rose Gusher that explodes full of flavour. Overall one of the best dining experiences must try if you are in Barcelona.

The spherified olive is everything food dreams are made of. If you didn’t know, Albert Adria is the man who is known for introducing molecular gastronomy to the world. A bit of a mixed experience for me, but with a bit more planning I think it could have been a 5 star experience. Ultimately, we went with the waiter's menu where you're brought dish after dish, chosen by your waiter. Service was not great. Hard to order drinks (and the somm wasn't overly helpful). Staff were very difficult to understand (which, given the language barrier, I can't blame them too much for). For the record, we didn't have this problem at any other elBarri establishment. In the dessert space, staff didn't seem interested in even acting happy, making us feel pretty unwelcome. Some dishes were unpleasant. Finally, the theatrical elements were poorly executed, often by unenthusiastic staff with poor acting skills. Having said all that, I think it could be great if you temper your expectations and do enough research to go for a la carte. For the record, we had about 27 courses, totalling ~330 euro for 2 pax. Quail and tuna belly dishes were highlights. We personally prefered Enigma and Disfrutar (more so the latter) when it comes to world class dining in Barcelona.
