This is the second time we visited because we loved it so much the first time! It's a small quaint place but the service and food is excellent. We had the smoked salmon, queen scallops, Cullen skink and the Welsh rarebit with ham hock for starters. All very delicious especially the ham hock! For mains we had the halibut, Coley and the langoustine tails. Portions were good but fish is light so we had room for dessert. We tried the specials ice cream and the brownie which was lovely and dark with a hint of ginger. Our waiter was the same one we had the first time, who made our experience very memorable giving us funny stories and advice. Unfortunately we didn't get his name but he's the Irish one. So thank you to him for being great! The food is quite expensive but it's definitely worth it! We'll probably be back again in the near future!

Definitely add this stop to your list of eats. Despite having missed our reservation window, we were seated immediately. Thank you! I ordered the mussel, and I was not disappointed. They were perfectly cooked, and the broth was amazing. The servers were friendly and attentive without interrupting. I ordered the large, which was generous portion.

It’s is my favorite restaurant in Edinburgh, fresh seafood, flavorful, delicious food! We have tried the fish soup, fish cake and the mussels, if I could eat more I would! The staff were super sympathetic and friendly, even interested in our plans for the day, the atmosphere is not touristic at all, very casual, comfortable and cozy.

We stumbled on this absolute gem of a place and had a fantastic time - wonderful and attentive service from the staff, and some of the best and freshest seafood we’ve ever had. We ordered the Queenie scallops - tender and tantalizing - the lightly battered squid, amazingly fresh oysters and the wild halibut. Perfect with white wine. Thank you for an incredible night out in this cozy spot by the water. Our server was amused that we asked for the menu three times - we loved the food that much.

    - Decent value for money - The service was weird. I didn’t feel welcome. First they were slow at taking orders. Then took a while to bring the starters, then rushed us to finish. They also kept taking away plates early. - The fish platter as a starter was nice for two people. Mains weren’t needed. - The bread basket was bad. Maybe order some veg as a side.

Absolutely amazing restaurant with good atmosphere, friendly and helpful waitress, and best seafood in town. I came here for its famous seafood platter which is satisfying. Also, it’s fish soup impressed me so much by its creamy taste and nicely cooked fish inside. All the food here satisfied me really much with reasonable price. I’d recommend seafood lovers who visited Leith give it a try.

Really delicious, fresh seafood. The staff was extremely nice and food was delivered to our table within less than 15 min of ordering, despite being warned of possible delays due to packed restaurant. The prices are reasonable, especially considering quality of fish and big portions. Overall great experience with beautiful view.

The best restaurant in Edinburgh!! An absolute gem of a restaurant in a beautiful setting, down by the shore. The menu changes depending on what catch they get in and the flavour combinations are second to none! Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Amazing fish soup 🍲 🐟, just perfect hot dish during the autumn rainy days. Interior feels like Fishers boats, located next to the water and ships. Long list of wines 🍷 including house wine. Mussels did not taste as good as soup so did not want to finish.

Horrendous experience at Fishers with food. Ok, soup was decent but the main course was an absolutely joke. Difficult to understand why in many restaurants in Scotland sea food and fish is so bad. Dessert was poor too. On the positive side, helpful and nice staff and nice restaurant! Never again

The mussels were so fresh we ate so much. Scallops were in the sour side though. a bit on the pricey side.. don't go here if you want to get yourselves full thoughh.. this place focuses on quality over quantity

My experience at the seafood restaurant was truly enjoyable. The scallops for starters were exceptionally tender, setting a high standard for the meal. The fish and chips featuring monkfish were delightful, with the fish cooked to perfection. However, the only downside was the thinly cut fries; although tasty, they became challenging to enjoy as they were too thin. Despite this, the impeccable lunch service and overall quality of the dishes made it a memorable dining experience.

My wife booked this restaurant for a birthday meal and the food was amazing, The service was quick, hot and full of amazing flavour. I am not normally a fish curry fan but my fish was lovely, and maybe I will become a convert. It's a very small restaurant with an interesting feel. Our waitress was very nice.

The best seafood I have tried so far in Edinburgh. Loch Creran rock oysters, Anstruther smoked salmon and Shetland mussels - great local goods that you can’t miss. Very friendly and welcoming staff, a member of them even recommended us some good cafes in Leith. Will definitely return.

Was brought here by a local friend and couldn’t be more impressed! First of all, the staff welcomed us and were very friendly. Started with the trout salad, fish soup, blue cheese/walnut/pear, then had the sea bass, mussels, crab burger, and coconut curry. The trout salad had a Thai nam jim (dipping sauce) which elevated the dish and made it so flavour some, as it did to the sea bass. The curry was hearty, and crab burger also was great. The star was, ofcourse, the mussels dipped in a garlicky sauce. I’m glad we finished off with desserts because every bite of every dish was phenomenal -sticky toffee pudding, basque cheesecake and crème brûlée! Silvia, the waitress, did an excellent job and was incredibly friendly. ❤️🫶🏽

We ordered fish platter and mussels as starter👌 Fish platter was great portion and all the fish was fresh and nice❤️ Just too much vinegary fish which I am not used to so if someone is not a big fan of vinegar or smoked fish maybe don’t go fish platter HOWEVER this mussels were the best maybe so far in Edinburgh after have tried same dish at couple of places😍 Very tasty well flavoured👌 Main course my partner had the crab tempura burger which was also tasty buns were good sauce was nice and crab was fried very crunchy and nice! Service was a bit weird and not that nice. I thought one of staff was too casual and not so welcoming as the place is very nice and proper restaurant🥲

Fresh seafood served in comfortable and relaxing surroundings. Service was a bit abrupt at times although the quality and freshness of the seafood speaks for itself. We had the Gambas and Squid to start with and both dishes were more than acceptable, although the prawns were slightly overcooked. From a couple who live in Galicia, the shellfish mecca of Europe, it was never going to easy to please! We followed with the Smoked Haddie and Halibut. Excellent plates of food, but the portion size of the Haddock was definitely on the small side. Finished off with the selection of cheese. Not 100% sold on the accompanying frozen grapes but the cheese selection was good and tasty.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday. We didn't book but luckily got a table near the entrance. Seafood platter here was more smoked fishes than shellfish. Overall food was great, we enjoyed it.

A wonderful experience. We visited Scotland for a day and wanted to eat off the beaten path. My husband found Fishers and we were not disappointed. Archie was amazingly welcoming from the beginning. We felt like we were regulars. He used our names, we were seated promptly and attended to in a timely manner. We had the pork belly for appetizer , the Lobster and steak / scallop combination for dinner and it was finger licking good. 😋 We would return the next time we find ourselves in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The best mussels I have ever had - super soft and plump. The cockles are also cooked to perfection. Amazing experience! The staff was very friendly. Amazing all around

We came here for fresh seafood so we tried the platter and other dishes. However, the seafood is all over-seasoned with sour and salty taste. To be fair the oyster is good. The service is not in the standard though. We’re not feeling comfortable with the staffs’ straight tone and one of them even threw the fork on table.

Very exceptional restaurant in an area with a number of restaurants otherwise propped up with tourist interest. House white is delicious and compliments the meals nicely. Fish soup is very memorable. Great find. Would be five stars had my scarf not gone missing in coat check.

Absolutely amazing food! Lovely atmosphere and the staff were great. We ate in the resteraunt which despite appearing small was a very good size, never felt like the people near us were to close. We booked 24 hours in advance for the hot seafood platter which was delicious and they were obviously well organised as we did not need to wait long despite the size of the dish.

👍👍 It's busy, it's tasty and always a nice experience! There is a nice range of flavours infused with spices. We went for breakfast and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The naan breads with sausages, bacon and eggs were delicious. The only comment I would have is it's so busy and noisy insid...
