Bought the tickets online for a 9:30am entry. Came on a weekday so it wasn't very busy and had a lot of parking. The aquarium validates parking, so I paid $5 while I was there. Did the virtual train tour, which was a great way to see a bit of history of St. Louis. There were a lot of staff there that were willing to answer questions. A lot of stations where you can pet the sea animals. There is also a large play area for kids, so I would say this place is very kid friendly. I would say it takes about an hour to an hour and half to walk through the entire aquarium while taking many pictures. I would recommend coming closer to 11 as that's when they start to feed the otters. The next feeding would be at 3pm. The otters will spend most of the time swimming around, so the feeding time would be the best to grab pictures of them.

Saint Louis is my hometown but I moved away years ago, prior to this aquarium coming there. I really enjoyed my experience. The sea life was so beautiful and active during our visit. I pretty much go to an aquarium in every city I visit and this ranks pretty high with many I've seen. The cost was reasonable discounted rates for children, military/veterans, and seniors. The staff was friendly and interactive with the guest. You can even pet some variations of fish. The aquarium is what used to be the old Union Station mall and it was nice to see what they did with the space. Of course the mall was previously the old historic train station and inside there are still original fixings from the original landmark. Plus the Amtrak train still stops there. Parking was plentiful and cost friendly as well. There were at least 15 other attractions to see there but I only had plans for the aquarium. Great family adventure.

This aquarium is smaller than some but mighty! My son loves the interactive aspects of it, the ability to touch and feel some of the wildlife, and the room to see up close. This aquarium has steps for little ones, plenty of room to view and see the fish, sharks, jellyfish, etc. so there is never a time where you can’t see. The water table, stingrays, turtles, and ability to feed and pet the animals is so incredibly cool! The staff is lovely, knowledgeable, and great with kids! Had a blast for my sons birthday!

First the negative because that’s what a majority look for, if you follow the Covid guidelines this is not the place to go. Face mask are required but not enforced, and it was very crowded know way possible to distance. That being said, this is on the customers and not the staff. The staff was awesome they masked up and stayed at a distance, the customers were the rude ones seemingly thinking no one exist except themselves and we almost stepped in to stop a woman and her husband from chewing on a poor high school aged girl working the theater room because they didn’t want to wait, because they exited when the fire alarm accidentally went off. (They would have only waited 10 minutes) but luckily I assume it was a manager stepped in to relieve this poor worker. The building it’s self is awesome and a great place to visit the tunnels that make you feel submerged make you want to stay all day there! Bottom line staff is great, exhibits are great! Just be super nice to the staff because they are dealing with some extremely rude people.

The two main standouts of this aquarium has going for it is how interactive it is and the pricing is fair ($86 for 2 adults and 2 children). I hope that they plan on expanding because it’s rather small and you will be in and out in less than 45 min to an hour. It wouldn’t be fair to compare this to your regular city a aquarium size wise. Not bad at all. I would recommend if you are okay with the factors listed above. The kids had a great time.

It was alright, I really appreciate the hands on experiences, but there is also not a ton to do. Me and my family expected a full day excursion, but it took about an hour. It was very well decorated, but was overpriced. There is a fun train theme for kids, and it was an interactive experience. I do also see that the fish are happy and healthy, and the staff is very knowledgeable. Maybe not for a full day trip, but if you want to get away for an hour, this is a good place to go.

Not a bad aquarium. It is $25 for adults and $18 kids. They have piranhas, sharks, turtles, stingrays, star fish, jelly fish. All kinds of stuff. They also have a pretty cool interactive area, where you can touch stingrays and other types of stuff. I would have to say that overall, it wasn't bad. It went by a little faster than I would have hoped, but still not bad. The interactive portion made it more worth it.

I’ve been to a lot of Aquarium’s in the past, and this one is by far my favorite. The experience begins with a train ride hosted by John Goodman, after that, you’re free to move along the Aquarium at your own pace. There are lots of exhibits along the way, as well as many hands-on activities for all ages. You’ll find plenty of fish, sea life, and other water creatures to keep you interested. Piranha’s, sea horses, sharks, otters, stingray’s, jellyfish, and dragonfish are just a few of the creatures you’ll encounter here. I really enjoyed my visit, and if I ever find myself back in Saint Louis, I’ll definitely take the time to visit this Aquarium again. Highly recommended!

Very presently surprised. Wish I would have done it years ago. There is something for everyone. It also keeps going and going. We even went backwards through the exhibit to see the otter feeding. You can feed Turtles, touch all sorts of animals including jelly fish, sharks, rays. The shark exhibit was really cool. We also enjoyed watching the spitting fish. Very interesting. We would recommend doing this with the 6 event pass. It includes the mirror maze, selfie station, the wheel, Carousel, and miniature golf. Be sure to bring your parking ticket in so it can be validated as you leave the aquarium. Have fun.

It was nice but I expected a lot more for the price. I did like how they had interactive stuff for the little ones. The main thing that I took stars away for was because at the very end when we were at the touch tanks they insisted that my 6 year old niece put on a mask when I told them she couldn't breath in a mask and everywhere else said that only kids 10 and over had to wear a mask they said well here it is 4 and over and were hateful I told them again she couldn't breath in the mask and they said she would have to wear a face shield and they seemed frustrated when they had to go and get her one to wear. I am an ICU nurse and understand how important mask are but I also understand how it is when little kids can't breath in them and this was the last exhibit. She had went through the entire aquarium without a mask and at the last one they insist she has something on

Enjoyed my first time coming here. Spent 3 hours looking at creatures I love! Touching some species of rays, which my lady loved isn't something you get to do often. The octopus & jellies were wonderful also. Took a little behind the scenes tour at Shark Canyon. Pretty cool, will be back in the future.

I went recently for the first time near open and it's better than I expected. Walking through the various exhibits they have was an immersive experience. I never thought Union Station would get such an interesting make over with the writing of the aquarium. I feel there's just as much for adults as there is kids, just wished us gotten in sooner to see the otter feeding. All in all, it's still a very time place, but I think it'll stick around. Not quite as good as the zoo, but there's effort being made.

I will start off by saying that the price vs. The size of the Aquarium is not really worth it. For 2 adults and 1 child it was $93 and we spent maybe an hour walking around and looking at everything. It is a cool concept, and hopefully they are able to expand! The exhibits were cool and the steam punk vibe was unique. My daughter and nephew had a fun time. The face painting, charactures, and restaurant was fun as well. If they ever add to this aquarium, we will be back!

This was great!! The whole family loved it. It is not set up as a boring purely educational aquarium. It is fun, interactive and it kept all our kids, and our attention throughout. Highly recommend visiting.

My first time to an aquarium and it was awesome! You are allowed to place your hands in with the doctor fish which was really neat. The second floor has more hands-on exhibits. You can touch sting rays and sea urchins. When going to shark canyon, the better viewing window is at the bottom of the down ramp. Also, right before going into the aquarium on the right hand side is where you can color a fish and watch it come alive on screen. It was free and really fun!

Oh my gosh, this place is the bomb and well worth purchasing a year membership to. The membership pays for it self after 2 visits. We go nearly every week now to see the animals and every visit we catch different photos and learn more about the animals that reside there. This trip we saw the otters swimming and playing in the water after their meal, which was amazing to watch. Plus they had the sloth out as one of their 30 minute exhibits. She was so adorable. You come to saint louis, mo the aquarium is a most to have on your attractions to visit and experience.

This aquarium is really beautiful. The lighting and the TVs show a lot of sea creatures when you're walking along a hallways. The entire place is around a large water container filled with all sorts of sharks, fish, & turtles. The upstairs is Fantastic For children however they did not have an octopus. Overall I'd give it a good rating

It was great to see Union Station recommissioned as an aquarium. The setting is well thought out and the staff have spaced out people to lessen congestion and observe social distancing. Once inside, people don't always observe the guidelines, but it's mostly acceptable. There are a lot of engaging displays for all ages. The touch pools are especially exciting! Overall, it's worth the time and money, and I'll definitely visit again.

Super cool! They do a great job at using technology to enhance the overall experience. The environments they have created for the animals there are really great! They have touch exhibits, the staff there are really passionate and knowledgeable about the animals. Overall a beautiful place. Well done bringing the Union Station gem back to life! Oh and season passes are well priced.

Buy tickets online to reserve a time to enter the aquarium. If you go early the line to get in is not long. Aquarium is small and you can get through it quickly BUT it has a lot of employees to educate you about the sea life so it’s very entertaining. It was very nice and we had lots of fun. The shark area is beautiful.

I have been to a few Aquariums in touristy locations, and this one is pretty good, comparatively. When you first get in you see the iconic "clock" that there are so many pictures of. Then you go on a "train ride" tour of the city, with John Goodman. Then they let you see the fish. As soon as you start looking around, you see how much they care for the fish there. (It's a lot!). They have a lot of interactive displays, so this is a great place for kids. At first it seemed like the aquarium was pretty small, but it went on for longer. There is a wonderful children's area in the middle that makes it feel as if you are approaching the end, but there's lots more excitement ahead.

We had an awesome time at the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station! We went on a Tuesday and it wasn’t a super busy day, which was nice. We were greeted by several of the workers and they were more than happy to tell us about the different fish and other animals that we saw. We were really excited about getting to see both of their sea turtles up close by one of the big viewing windows! We also enjoyed their jellyfish touch tank, which was a very unique experience. As with their other touch tank area, you’re only allowed to touch them gently with two fingers. It’s not a huge aquarium, compared to some, but it’s a great aquarium nonetheless…we will be back.

This was our first time visiting the aquarium and absolutely loved the experience. We got lucky and were only a handful of people there on a Friday night. So, our son got to have a more hands on/one-on-one experience with a lot of exhibits. When you enter, there is a "train" that you get on which was neat. One of the staff members let him feed some of the fish, which made him very happy. There are exhibits to touch sting rays and starfish, a cartoon type mini theater show where they involve you and tell jokes, as well as a handful of other fun things for kids. I definitely recommend visiting!

Fantastic! We had fun seeing, touching, and learning about several fishes. The light show in the foyer is worth mentioning, and so is the virtual train ride. Take your time walking at a comfortable pace, but do come before 3 on most days, since the last ticket is issued at 3:45 on weekdays. One more thing, I should mention is the different fishes that the guests are allowed to touch. They have rays, anemones, jellyfish, and many more that guests can touch. Please be gentle while touching them. The cost of the ticket is $31.00+ taxes for one adult.

Nice aquarium, especially for kids! There were a lot of interactive experiences for kids. They even had jelly fish to touch! They also had the little fish that eat the dead skin of your hands. There were fish that shoot water out of their mouths to hit bugs. The man that was in charge of that station even let the little kids hold a stick (with food on the end) over the water so the fish could shoot at it. It is very handicap accessible. There were even special spots just for wheelchair users so we could also experience the exhibits. All the staff were extremely nice, kind, and knowledgeable.

It is a beautiful exhibit, and my daughter and her friend enjoyed the interaction with the sea anemones, star fish, jellyfish fish, and sting rays. They had some ambassador animals- a cute sloth and a beautiful African Gray Parrot. It was pretty pricey for the number of things to see and do there. (2-3 hours spent) We did ride the Ferris Wheel at Union Station as part of a combo ticket, which gives you great views of downtown St. Louis, but for the 2 of us, it was almost $90 just for entry and a ride. I'm sure it is expensive to run such a nice exhibit, but I think it may be above budget for many families.

I thought it was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was ample staff for the low crowds when I went. Granted, it was a weekday at 2 o'clock during covid season. Not sure how full the place gets on weekends. I can see that the price is a little high for some people, especially if it was busy in there. But having the place eventually to ourselves made the experience worth the 25 dollar admission. Took about an hour and a half for us to get through.

If you have kids it's really worth it and they'll enjoy it because you get to touch some of the fish, I really enjoyed the shark canyon and it was just a good time and experience to do it at least once.i didn't have high expectations from reading the poor reviews but I still left pleased and content , you have to see for yourself

You get to pet manta rays. Do i need to say more. People that work there are great. Its not a crazy all day endeavor. Think it takes maybe 20 mins to see everything. Oh yeah! And there is a fish tank with little fish that tickle your hands. (They tell you to put your hand in) dont recommend trying to get a shark to do the same.

Make sure you get tickets online! It was my mistake but we had to wait 4 hours. Everything was great but bring quarters for lockers as none of stores will have change. I recommend going later the fire show was spectacular and the kids loved it. Farris wheel is heated so no worries on cold there but mini golf, playground and merry go round are outside. Lastly the mirror maze was so much cooler than I thought. I am 32 and it was shorter but well worth it.

The St. Louis Aquarium is the only aquarium I have ever gone to. That being said, I don't know how an aquarium could be better. The aquarium was a fun and neat adventure for the entire family. Being able to see all the different types of sea wildlife was interesting. My kids favorite part was being able to touch sting rays and sharks. The time spent there was about an hour and a half to see all the exhibit exhibits. The only issue is that no one was social distancing. Being in close quarters with the amount of people who were there made it difficult. Union Station as a whole was enjoyable too. Having other activities, food, and a place just to soak in the scenery all in one spot was convenient. My family spent the afternoon and evening all there and time just flew by. If you are visiting St. Louis this is a place that is worth the time and money you spend.

Tanks could definitely be better in the shark Canyon area. To this day the best shark tanks I've seen is Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg. Overall this is a wonderful must-see visit and a great addition to St Louis.

This is the BEST aquarium I've ever been to. I LOVED this so much. There are covid-19 restrictions, but you can still interact with the animals. Everything at this aquarium was AMAZING. If you love sea animals and creatures and want to know about their past there are plenty of employees at every station which were insanely nice, and there are plaques with information about every animal you see. I love this place

Best time to go to the aquarium is now. What a neat place. It’s bigger and better than I thought it would be. Like I’m actually thinking of buying one of those yearly passes. It was educational, the people working there went out of their way to tell/teach you about the animals and where they came from. I can honestly say I can’t wait to go back.

My 5 year old loves the aquarium! We went for the first time ever a month ago and since the moment we pulled out of the parking lot she has been asking to visit again. It is great for hands on learning, the staff were very polite and knowledgable on the animals, we loved the sting ray's, otters, turtles, doctor fish, starfish, train show, and sharks. We were unable to do the ropes course but it looks amazing. The mirror maze was spooky and hilarious as we left a few forehead prints on the glass! Hahaha! :D Also, the ferris wheel is so worth the trip! Incredible views, we had fun watching the construction vehicles at work as the aerial view allowed us to completely see the project and all the machines. Before we left I had promised my kiddo we'd stop by the gift shop and pick out a goodie. She picked a t shirt and puppy dog eyed me to death until I agreed she could also get an adorable little stuffed pink octopus that she now sleeps with every night since. Overall, it was an awesome experience. Our first time visiting Union Station and certainly not the last time.

Fun times but not worth the money for a single pass. Starts with a cute 5/d movie, then opens up to tanks. It’s spacious enough to enjoy, but not enough things to look at. Zero things were wiped down the whole being there. We had to sanitize the kids every 2 feet, masks not enforced. The kids play area was open which I found odd. The coolest thing was drawing your picture and it coming to life on the big screen. The kids really enjoyed that. Hoping they get more things the next time we come to town.

Horrible customer service. I called today and spoke with a lady who has absolutely no customer service skills. I was asking specific questions about their Covid policies (more in-depth then what is posted on their website). The lady would only respond with “all of our Covid information is posted online.” I calmly told the lady I have already read the online document and had more specific questions if she could please listen to me and stop referring me to their website. She then said, “can you hold for a moment.” I said sure. I was transferred to someone’s voicemail, no idea who’s or why I was transferred. If they do not have 3 minutes to answer my specific questions about Covid it sounds like they are not treating Covid seriously. I am a small business owner and would absolutely be appalled if one of my employees spoke with a customer in this manner. I hope they are able to do additional training for their employees, as of right now I have absolutely no desire to support this company based on the way I was treated on the phone.

An excellent small aquarium with a big park feel. Google's gps led me afoul but parking was available on site and affordable. The aquarium shares a building with a nearby hotel's restaurant and also hosts a small concessions stand on grounds. Alcohol available. Other nearby attractions are a build a bear workshop, a ferris wheel, putt putt, and old train station. These were not visited during my aquarium experience. The aquarium hosts a number of wildlife native to Missouri, many hosted by staff enthusiastic about their work. This contributed the greatest, in my opinion, to my excellent experience here. There are several visual effect attractions, including an interactive talking otter show, touch pools with stingray feeding, simulated bioluminescence and topography map. A lot of budget has gone into meshing fun, entertainment, and education and it shows. Deep sea tank offers many viewing angles with which to view sharks and other pelagic fishes. 99% of the staff were friendly, respectful and very informative and enthusiastic.

The educational instructors are concise and kind, and taught us all about every critter you could touch. They also taught us about the injured and healed up sea turtles in their care. The tanks and enclosures were clean, properly kept, and large enough for the animals exhibited to have plenty of space for exercise and enrichment. They made sure all of the staff knew my service dog and I were coming through the exhibits, so that my dog would be the absolute safest while she cared for me. Everything was clean and spread out, making sure to keep everyone safe during Covid. The restrooms were clean as well, lending for a safe and lovely experience. My two companions had a wonderful time as well. Our first time visit went incredibly well.

🐟 St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station — a great place to visit if you’re ever in the Lou. Pet a sting Ray — see the sharks — gaze at all types of fish — turtles — otters — coral: the aquarium is a good peak into life in the seas, rivers, & lakes. An excellent experience. 📸🌊🦈🗺 #visitstlouis #stl #314 #stlouisaquarium #downtownstl #meetmeinstlouis #fish #marinelife #aquaticlife #aquarium If you really are going to the aquarium — #landryseafoodhouse #stlouis has some of the best seafood — right next door — if fish sounds good before or after to look at fish. Landry’s is known to have delicious Burgers 👌🏼 & PoBoy’s too. Delicious Fish 🐟 #landryseafood #landrysstlouis #landrys I felt like this dude answered the door at the tank; this string ray just wraps it up.

A must see for the St. Louis area. Does have a hotel as well as plenty of restaurants! They have this sort of rock climbing experience but it's not much of rock climbing it's more like being harnessed in and having to get across some pretty scary gaps. They also have many tanks with wide varieties of aquatic life. They have workers always keeping up on sanitation regularly and to help you with questions about the aquatic life, as well as some of the animals' backgrounds. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit! Would absolutely recommend to anyone needing something to do in the St Louis area. The only thing is it can get a little costly if you are wanting to do each and every thing.

I have been to many aquariums and this was one of my favorite. Although smaller it was extremely well designed. Tanks were amazingly clean and all of the animals looked healthy and happy. There are so many cool things to do and see. Lots of exhibits that allow you to interact with the animals. The larger exhibits with the sharks are so good the next best thing would be scuba diving. I was also impressed with all the science backed educational interactive experiences. Also they provide a sensory room for parents to use if necessary. Overall it was a fun, relaxing, educational experience. Me and my kids all agree we would do it again.

First time visiting the STL aquarium at Union station was a great time. The displays were well designed and the activities fun. You can touch and interact with live jellyfish, rays, skates, fish, anemones, starfish and urchins! Take a walk underwater in the tunnels and see the creatures as they would be in the ocean. All of it is super fun but I think for kids the most interesting activity would be watching the archer fish feeding. For those who don't know, archer fish come to the surface to feed and shoot streams of water from their mouths and knock off bugs from branches for them to fall in and get eaten. They feed them there with fish food covering a ball on a 4ft long stick. Also, the feeding of the skates is a blast but WARNING! YOU WILL GET SPLASHED BY THE SKATES 😂😂😂😂. If you don't mind getting a little wet, go ahead and try it! My reason for 4 out of 5 stars boils down to money vs amount of things to do. 25.50 per adult ticket and you can walk through the aquarium in 30min and see everything. That plus paying to park (actually not bad @ $1 per 20min) just makes me wish for more attractions or exhibits. Overall though, it's a beautiful aquarium and I suggest you take a trip there 😁.

Loved the STL Aquarium! Fun and interactive experience for children and adults. Location was easy to find, parking was only $5 (once validated) and entry was roughly $27 per adult. You can buy packages, but we only attended the aquarium. Overall, a good experience. There were restaurant/food options, a gift shop for souvenirs and some fun rides (at an additional cost). Not an insane amount of walking once inside and very manageable for all during your visit. Our favorite part was the live interaction with animals. We were able to touch sharks, sting rays, jellyfish and sea creatures. The LED displays were amazing too! I only removed 1 star because I wish there was even more to do. I was shocked when we reached the end and wished we could have kept going! A live sea show would have been nice, but I also understand and respect animals not putting in for a 9-5 job. Will be returning in the future for sure!

The union station (outside aquarium) itself is a great place to start with many fun activities and food. Aquarium has good number of exhibit and takes 3-4hours to cover. Also has a play area for kids to play with water. Makes sense to go for a annual pass if you plan to repeat. The south parking lot is more nearer to the aquarium entrance.

Although this aquarium is not the largest we've seen, it does have excellent visual effects that augments the experience dramatically in the positive way. Some deep sea creatures are real, where as some are carefully orchestrated high resolution videos that are so real that you can't tell they're fake. Besides, there are a lot of interactive exhibits where you can touch and play with the fish, feed them, and more. I think it's a excellent visit for kids as well as adults of all ages.

The staff were generally really friendly, especially this one staff member at the stingray pool that introduced me to the animals by name and taught me fun facts about them. The exhibits were very nice. Marine Life was not just put in tiny little boxes like some of the larger aquariums. Most of the displays combined several different compatible species so you could see them interact or school depending on the other types that were nearby. The opening simulated "train ride" was pretty cool as the entry into the aquarium. Loved the "living" clock at the entrance. I couldn't remember the entry fee so I just took a wild guess below. I think it was well worth it (whatever it was 🤣).

Visited after 12/27/2020. It's a neat exhibit. All of the hands-on stuff is great! For the price, I don't think it was quite worth the experience. It was WAY too crowded, especially with the pandemic going on right now. With it being a new aquarium, there also weren't any large sharks yet. I'm sure they will grow over time, but it wasn't particularly impressive. A lot of the renderings are also incredibly misleading. This time we were relatively disappointed. Maybe we'll try again in a few years when the virus is "gone" and some of the animals are a little bigger. All in all, it's a great place, just not a good value for the price they charge.

  • 3/5 somethingwiccaful 3 years ago on Google
I think it's a bit expensive for how small it is. It also says they would prefer you to buy online due to Covid and you choose a time slot. It was still really packed and we were in line for about 30 min after the time slot. I did like the learning exhibits that are upstairs where they have certain creatures and they tell you about them, they were very knowledgeable which is great to see.

We paid 100.00 to go. My husband and grandson wanted to see the sharks and when we get to that point they say it’s closed. I called about it all they say is it’s a separate charge. It’s part of the aquarium! So for your 100.00 you get to pet stingrays basically. Ever little thing has a separate charge. It should be something that they let you know upfront. Very disappointed.

I liked it well enough. Very interactive. I wish there were a few more things to see but understand it's a small aqurium. My biggest gripe is the parking.

Much smaller than we were expecting.

  • 3/5 Kyle J. 3 years ago on Google
Was very entertaining but, for the price they charge its deffinetly not woth it. And everything extra cost more money. Took about 20 min to walk through the aquarium and paid $50 for 2 people.

  • 4/5 Dani O. 3 years ago on Google
We had a great time! I just wish there was more to see for the price.

  • 4/5 Karis W. 3 years ago on Google
This was a fun little aquarium. I did not feel that there was enough here to make it particularly enjoyable. Our toddler enjoyed many of the hands-on exhibits. I think they leaned too heavily on technology and not enough on the animals. That being said, their facilities were very well kept and the staff were very friendly and informative.

We had to cancel our visit on Jan 16th, 2021. Was told a refund would take UP TO 15 days. Still no refund on Feb 10th. I would like to know when I will be getting my refund.

  • 5/5 Ashley B. 3 years ago on Google
Awesome experience! They had so many different fish and other ocean animals there it was fun to be able to see them all. You could bet some smaller sharks and stingray as a part of your ticket as well as two floors of aquarium! We can’t wait to go back and try out some of the extras there as well

  • 1/5 Amanda B. 3 years ago on Google
Extremely rude staff. We were harassed by a worker after we left the mirror maze and were figuring out where we were going next that “We weren’t allowed to just be up here without tickets to anything”. Really great treatment after spending over $100 on 45 minutes at the place. Sold tickets online to parts of it that weren’t even open. Awful experience. If it was run better I’d probably be giving it 5 stars because the aquarium itself was pretty well done.

  • 3/5 Angelica E. 3 years ago on Google
It's just too expensive for what it is. Kind of a one and done thing. This will be our only time attending. Period. The entrance is so beautiful it kind of sets the rest up for disappointment because it's unlike any other aquarium. It's small, not a lot to do at all. If it costs less we would come again, but at this price no way.

  • 4/5 Tyler F. 3 years ago on Google
Decent way to kill an hour or so, it could stand to offer a few more activities or things to do inside.

  • 2/5 Emily S. 3 years ago on Google
Parking is a huge scam. So upset that we had to pay $35 because we misplaced a ticket. We were there a whole hour.

  • 3/5 Cari M. 3 years ago on Google
Didn't really seem like employees knew what they were doing...started at the ticket booth (took forever and tickets wouldn't print), the mirror maze (no instructions posted for any sort of protocol, so not sure how they can holler at people), and rudeness going on at the ropes. Slightly disappointed.

  • 3/5 Julia J. 3 years ago on Google
They really hyped the experience up then what I actually experience. But I understand them trying to get people to come. I was expecting more sharks and other sea creatures. For me personally it was okay. Thats my opinion.

Short. Not much for $25 ticket and the wait.

  • 3/5 Jasmine J. 3 years ago on Google
2/14/21- Aquarium was nice. A bit small for the price of $25 a person. I expected way more. The behind the scenes shark exhibit was neat and informative. If you bring kids, im sure they will love it, but for 2 adults, it was underwhelming. I've been to way cheaper and better aquariums in other cities. If you've never been, its worth going once.

  • 4/5 Douglas W. 3 years ago on Google
Pretty cool. Pet the rays and sharks. Loved the river otters. Lots of hands on stuff for kids. Kind of pricey for something that only took 2 hours. And that was taking our time and waiting for "shows"

  • 1/5 David P. 3 years ago on Google
We hit some traffic and they wouldn’t let us in or give us a refund (with a 1 year old in tow). Tami was extremely unhelpful and rude.

  • 2/5 Andrew C. 3 years ago on Google
For $25, expect less than 45 minutes of brief walks between a few exhibits. The fish are fantastic, but the staff talking AT you at every, single, exhibit will leave you exhausted if you're trying to make conversation with your own crowd. I would recommend any other museum attraction in St. Louis over this one. If you absolutely want to go, try during the summer when there are other attractions active nearby as well.

The shark canyon show was the worst!!!!! Waste of time. Avoid unless u need a nap.

  • 4/5 Cassie G. 3 years ago on Google
It was a good little aquarium. I would say it's ideal for kids under 10. Took about an hour to go through. I feel it was overpriced.

  • 4/5 Cameron N. 3 years ago on Google
It was a very cool aquarium, and it was nice because it had a flow to it. Rather than picking and choosing what to see next, you follow the path and see everything. All the staff members were very friendly and knowledgeable on each species of fish that they had. Some of the extra stuff they had like the mini golf and the mirror maze were disappointing, but other than that, it was a fantastic experience!

  • 4/5 Jonathan K. 3 years ago on Google
I wish they would have penguins and a bigger variety of animals. It was smaller than I expected going to every aquarium that I can find. It was still nice to see all the sharks and fish.

  • 5/5 Becky G. 3 years ago on Google
Amazing! I gotta shout out to my ticket guy who was the friendliest with top notch customer service! I love awesome people! I rode solo into town for a photo shoot and after a full plate of carbs down at the Landing, I needed to go walk it out! I saw a few friends post the new Aquarium up on the Book a month ago and decided to check it out next time I came thru. What a magical place! It has beautiful displays, excellent background music, really happy fish, and makes education real kid friendly. They stay open a little later for the big kids on Saturdays. I would recommend getting tickets online for a "certain time" since Covid plays into their capacity limits currently.

  • 4/5 Lucas P. 3 years ago on Google
In a time of covid precautions there were a few too many people coming and going throughout the aquarium. But besides that the displays were great and the designs of the spaces for each exhibit were lovely. Its as if each room was trying to out shine the aquatic life within but as a guest you get to see both as u pleased and were all the happier for it. If you have a sea life lover in your family it would be a good spot to spend an afternoon. Just be prepared to wait in line as its a popular place.

  • 4/5 Courtney Van H. 3 years ago on Google
We took our 8 year old, 3 year old and an infant. The 3 year old gets bored usually half way through an attraction so I was impressed with the time it took to get through. It was big enough that you could take your time or breeze through it. Our girls loved the climbing spot, coloring and the petting of stingrays & star fish! But the girl at the sting rays was quit rude whereas the lady at the star fish was really nice and showed our toddler best place to stand to be able to reach them. Now, talking about the little show at the front, we loved it! But again, one worker was extremely rude and the other was super helpful. We had strollers and knew there was a limited amount of spots that they could sit, so we waited our turn. Since this was our first trip we didn’t know that only one theater had spots for strollers and moved up to get the farthest one the next time when she rudely told us we needed to scoot back because we weren’t going in her theater because she didn’t have room for us. Overall we liked it, but could definitely use some nicer employees that are willing to explain how things are instead of being rude for you not knowing. If you can’t be nice, don’t work customer service 👌🏻

The aquarium was a really fun experience; my toddler was amazed and really enjoyed it! I did expect the walk thru to be a little longer, but would definitely still recommend. I also have to give a shout out to the employee who was guiding the families into the aquarium; we had to wait outside for a few minutes in the 5 degree weather and he took his coat off and put it around our baby while we waited. Amazing staff and amazing exhibit!

  • 1/5 Renay J. 3 years ago on Google
This place is definitely NOT worth the money they charge. The one in Springfield is way better and cheaper. It took us 25 minutes to get thru the whole thing. This includes: stopping to take pictures, read information about the animal, waiting for others to get thru as well and a 5 minute “movie.” On a slow day, could do 15 mins for $40 Definitely overrated for sure!!

  • 3/5 Ericka C. 3 years ago on Google
The aquarium was really nice and the guy at the front door was helpful. The rest of the staff, not so much. The movie was shut down so when we finished walking through the aquarium we decided to ask someone if it was back up and running. The people we asked didn’t know so we decided to go outside and back through the front to ask, and we were told since we left the building, we weren’t allowed back in. Ummm...okay? 😆

Not very happy the way things happened up there. First and foremost the boy that was working on Feb 6th at 4pm was very unprofessional and rude. We explained to him that my niece has seizures and had one prior to walking in the door and asked how to bypass the movie ride thing. He was very rude and pointed in the direction like we had been there before. When we got to the area we assumed he was talking about there was a long line and we waited for a long time then went back and asked him if we was in the correct spot and again asked about going around and that's when he was really rude and said I told yall already where to go and pointed again and after getting dirty looks at customers we finally made it passed only to get to another long line to look at anything and nobody wearing a mask or standing 6ft apart and nobody was even around watching and trying to inforce this law! I will also say I don't feel like the price is worth it at all with what we had to deal with and won't be back!unless things change which is doubtful after reading other reviews 🙃 also from the outside you wouldn't think that it was so small or that it's literally the same big fish tank that you look at just from different sides! Nothing to drink there that I seen and even tried to look but all I seen was candy and other fake animals also what in the world is the other building there for? Hope they add on and make bigger without raising prices!!!!

We purchased our tickets at their discounted rate for locals. We were so excited to go as the outside looks phenomenal. We were a bit disappointed when we realized how small it was. The price is not worth the overall expereince. We are a family of 6 and I would read to my kids the different descriptions of the aquatic life, even doing that the whole experience only took us 75 minutes. Overall it is nice, clean, and staff is great; just wish it was longer for the price paid.

It was a decent aquarium, but it only took us 35 minutes to get through and we moved slowly. I enjoyed the areas we could touch the stingrays as well as other aquatic life because I’ve been to multiple aquariums and they’re always too crowded to even attempt seeing them up close. They also had people reserve a time slot ahead of time in order to keep with covid guidelines which I appreciated.

If you've been to Ripley's aquarium in Tennessee you will be very disappointed with this aquarium. There are very few exhibits for the amount that you have to pay for entry. The thing that you have to watch out for at this place is the hypocritical mask Nazis that they have for employees there. I saw many customers reprimanded for having their masks below their nose by employees that were huddled in groups and drinking and talking to one another while constantly adjusting their own masks. They are small people with an ounce of government given power that they are abusing to their fullest extent. The aquarium needs to fix this immediately.

Excellent exhibits, clean, and organized. They’re was always something to look at. We spent about 90 minutes going through, however we could have easily spent two and a half hours. Look on the website for the feeding times, the animals will be way more active. A must see when visiting St. Louis.

  • 2/5 Bianca C. 3 years ago on Google
Paid 78, the average cost of an aquarium visit for three (so says the husband who has been to others). We took quite the trip down there. First aquarium for myself and the little one. Took maybe two hours but we finished. Lots of walls. No one taking masks seriously. The idea they are going is awesome. The cool lights and some of the video. Making it bigger and building on the tech would be awesome, but otherwise I'd wait till more comes. If you wanted to do anything else it was pretty pricey. Long wait

We all had a complete blast. From the very start (that hologram atrium was a pretty epic start) it was very impressive. We were a little disappointed the Shark Canyon bit led out the exit (if it was marked as such, we completely missed it) as there were a couple last things we wanted to see but because of the crowds thought "We'll go do this thing thing and then walk back over and maybe there will be some room." But over all it was a fantastic time.

St. Louis Aquarium was beautiful specially for how small it was. The only thing I'm concerned about is, there is a location where you can pet some sting ray. My concern is, with this covid issue..is it really safe to touch the water while people maybe sick? Just something to think about. Overall, it's a nice place to go to. There's also a ferris wheel and a putt putt place right beside the aquarium. So, there's alot of things to do around there.

  • 3/5 Crystal B. 3 years ago on Google
The atmosphere was kind of cool. Love the St. Louis old town vibe. The aquarium wasn't worth what we paid. It was pretty small. Hardly a variety of animals. You can go through it in like 35 minutes or so. The fairs wheel was pretty neat, it has air control. The only bad thing I can say about it is the waitress at the restaurant. We ate at the Train Shed and she started out nice but ended up getting an attitude because we wanted her to split our checks up. She brought us one big check when we were ordering for two families. She more or less yelled at us for not telling her to split the checks before she brought it to us. She hardly came to our table after the food was brought. Then popped up with the check. Its something to do if you're bored.

Nice ferris wheel, 15 mins. Aquarium was just okay. We've seen better. But we got to pet the rays and sharks. Other outdoor attractions and seafood restaurant.

Really like 3.5 stars. Pretty small. Good if you have kids with you, they have several activities for them. ...we did not have kids with us lol.

  • 5/5 Sam A. 3 years ago on Google
The only negative... it was a little pricey for the duration of what it has available (however I'm sure it's costly for caring for all the animals). All in all a good time if you can get in on a discount and come in off-peak times.

  • 3/5 Rich G. 3 years ago on Google
It was kinda cool i don't think it's worth 25 dollars it would be worth half that in my opinion.

  • 3/5 Shebamboo 3 years ago on Google
Today was my very first time here, and it was nice. Though I was expecting more for the price, I understand the reasons for the price. Experiencing the Dr. Fish, touching the sting ray, and seeing all the corals-sharks, and taking my time to soak it all in was worth it.

  • 3/5 Jacob 3 years ago on Google
Designed as an experience, which a great for flow but kind of shocked at the enclosed spaces. A lot of the sharks have nose bumps which means the tank wasn’t designed correctly. Covid restrictions are in full effect but large amounts of people would bottle neck in areas.

We were passing through on the the way to Kansas for a wedding when we saw this from the highway, it looked great so we thought we would do it on the way back. When driving back from a 12 hour trip on Sunday we looked and they had spots open for Monday morning, so we booked a hotel in St. Louis to be able to do the aquarium first thing in the morning so we could get back on the road to get home on Monday. After booking the hotel we went to book our aquarium tickets and twice the website took my money but did not finalize the purchase, I tried to call and speak with a manager only to be told no one could talk to me at this time and they would call me back at some point. Waiting around the rest of the evening and early morning with no call from management to help me with this, so we made the decision to just head home and skip out on the aquarium because nobody could call us back to let us know if we would be able to go first thing for what I bought online or what. Ultimately the charges did fall off my card but I find it ridiculous no one could help me that day when I needed it, someone did finally call the next day probably around 2-3pm. We wouldn’t have stayed the night in stlouis if this was going to be the case. Would not recommend due to not trying to assist me when their website messed up and charged me twice without giving me tickets.

One of the best aquariums I have been to. The opening room is like projector screen and we played right down on the floor and watched the whole thing. Amazing. Touch pools educational and fun however smaller than we expected hoping they grow we will return

We had an amazing experience here! My only complaints are that it was a little on the small side and a little pricey. I love the way they let you touch most of the animals and feet the animals!

We took our 14, 10, and 2 year old and they had a blast! It was very interactive and they had a lot of things to touch. Something for everyone. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

Great aquarium with lots of interactive exhibits. Otters were especially fun to watch. I gave four stars instead of five because i wish there was more for the price.

  • 5/5 Brit B. 2 years ago on Google
Loved it! The virtual train is great, the visuals of the entrance and light show is beautiful, and I really enjoyed the touch tanks where you forget to pet the water animals. Worth the money. Make sure you have on your walking shoes because it is a lot to see. I loved the shark tanks, and the information that is shared by the staff. We went twice this year.

  • 5/5 whatmattersreally 2 years ago on Google
Virtual train was great. So was the staff for the touch tank. It may be new and small still but the staff are knowledgable and friendly. And it will continue to grow if they keep up the great work.

A very overwhelming yet underwhelming experience. There wasn't a lot of things to see at the aquarium and the line wait is terrible. But it was very beautiful when we got in and there were about 5 or 6 interactive exhibits where you can touch the fish so that was very fun. I recommend dipping your hand in the Dr. Fish tank and letting the little guys nibble on your hands (definitely the coolest part of the place). Of course I'm speaking from an adult standpoint cause I can guarantee your kids will have the time of their lives here.

We love the aquarium. It is a little pricey to get in but a great exhibit. There were several parts that had hands on activities and such an awesome variety of beautiful creatures! It is absolutely worth checking out. Very cool, beautiful experience.

It's very nice and the fish look great, but it's very small and overpriced. It took us under an hour to get through. We were pretty disappointed and my kids didn't believe me when I told them it was over. It's more like an attraction you'd see at the zoo like the monkey house.

  • 5/5 Valarie B. 2 years ago on Google
It was a great time. We got the fab 5 tickets, all the kids had so much fun!

  • 5/5 Kassy M. 2 years ago on Google
Fun experience. A bit pricey but I think that's because most everything else in STL is free or dirt cheap. I and my kids (7/9) enjoyed the exhibits, interactive sections, and pace. We got thru it in a couple of hours. Parking was $1/hr during a weekday. We ate at the Soda Fountain after and they will validate parking if you remember to bring it with you.

This was a great way to spend the day. I love how the aquarium was set up to feel like a journey. You get to interact, touch, watch, learn, and view in this exhibit. John Goodman does the voice over on the 'train ride' to the aquarium- which was very neat and fun for kids. The beautiful visual display while you wait for your 'train ride' was worth the trip on its own. We were lucky enough to see them cleaning the tanks and were able to experience the 'Touch exhibit' with sea stars, stingrays, mantas and sea anemones. The variety and size of the various fish/mamals/amphibians was impressive. Although we didn't see one, the aquarium offers various animal interaction exhibits for kids at set times throughout the day. So, call ahead if you intend to catch one. The staff was helpful and informative. The variety and size of fish was incredible. The otter exhibit was really cool. Overall, it was a great experience and worth the money. We went on Monday, at around 1:15, and it wasn't crowded at all. Cute gift shop too. This is an excellent date location or weekend outing for the whole family. I highly recommend it. We also did the Soda Fountain for lunch, the mirror maze, the ropes course, and mini golf. All were a lot of fun and reasonably priced. The wheel was the only experience we missed. I hear its excellent at night.

After visiting many aquariums around the country, having a brand new one 25 minutes away, couldn't wait to see it. Well, the honest truth, if you can't make it here, don't feel bad. Below average employees, below average surroundings, and below average displays. We left very underwhelmed, and let down. Overpriced for the experience we left with. Much finer aquariums around the country, especially in Las Vegas and Kansas City, Mo. You'll thank me later!

  • 3/5 Kurt W. 2 years ago on Google
Compared to the Shedd in Chicago or Ripley's in Tennessee it is fairly limited and mostly aimed at children. Some good exhibits, many of them interactive. The facility is arranged in a linear path. Expext to spend about 2-3 hours here. Bring your parking ticket with you to get a discount on the hourly rate. Tickets are timed so buy ahead. If you have smaller children and want a 1/2 day experience it is worth it.

  • 4/5 Times T. 2 years ago on Google
Very cool experience and great for the kiddos! Personally it was a one and done experience for me, but my daughter really digs it every time we go. There are interactive spots as well as a few areas where you can pay for additional activities (mirror maze, ferris wheel etc) The food spots help make it a really eventful day without ever really having to leave!

  • 5/5 R C. 2 years ago on Google
I didn't find the price for this exhibit too high at all. The experience is what you make of it. I visited on a Saturday morning. I think I was the only adult going through the Aquarium by myself. I feel like we should always be learning, and marine life has always fascinated me. It was certainly enjoyable from an adult point of view, even though many activities are tailored to children. You start in a beautiful entryway, with an antique clock and screens on the ceiling stimulating a whale passing overhead. You then take a "virtual train ride" narrated by John Goodman if you wish before entering the exhibit. There were doctor fish, which eat the dead skin off your hands--not for me, but others seemed to enjoy. Stingrays, eels, otters, an octopus, a boa, tree frogs, an iguana, and jellyfish. There were many hands on activities, including one where you could get a high five from a passing ray in the water, and a display of how changing landforms affect bodies of water. I appreciated the emphasis on education and conservation. The tour guides were all very friendly and full of knowledge. I especially enjoyed learning from the person showcasing shark teeth, turtle jaws, and more! All in all, great fun. Glad I checked it out.

Went on a Thursday early afternoon. Was Great! Not crowded! Highly recommend going, to anyone visiting St.Louis. The whole exhibit was great, but the shark tank was the best! We bought the ticket that included 5 things to do with the aquarium. Best Deal! Rode the Ferris wheel, did the mirror maze, did mini golf. It also included the Carousel, but we didn't ride that. Fun times 👍🤙😃

We took my family just after Christmas. They have a beautiful setup to highlight the animals. My kids really enjoyed the touch tanks, especially the sting rays. Took my wife here for our 20th anniversary. She's disabled and terminal, but loved every bit of it. Some areas aren't quite as wheelchair accessible as they could be and are hard to navigate. Obviously the designers\architects planned only for the minimal room for wheelchair clearance and nothing more like a larger chair, accessories, someone pushing or otherwise helping, etc. This made some of the areas frustrating to navigate, but not all areas are like this. Unlike a lot of other aquariums I've been to where they try to cram as many fish as possible in tanks for people to see, the St. Louis aquarium seems to try and focus on the aquatic life in the lakes and rivers in Missouri, and ultimately where the Mississippi meets the Gulf of Mexico. So the variety of fish isn't overwhelming, but it is very informative, displayed very well, and you can see the fish in great detail with the tank designs. The third level of the aquarium has a "hands on" area where you can touch some of the aquatic life such as starfish, rays, sharks, turtles, plants, etc,. Staff is on hand and very informative about all things available as well. At the end of course there is a gift shop with the usual selection of shirts, cups, stuffed animals, toys, etc. The shirts were actually decent quality and not outrageously overpriced. I'm glad I brought my wife here as she thoroughly enjoyed it and had one of the best days she has had in a very long time.

I really wanted to love this. It was a nice experience and it was beautiful inside, I just felt like they didn’t have much for how big the place is. A lot of repeats in different tanks. Would have been cool to see a mass variety of sea creatures.

Booked online was easy you know we went a little earlier than our tickets stated they still let us through it was interesting to see wish it was a little bigger. I first experience there and we got the ride the simulated train in the room it was cool, At one point it literally felt like we were actually riding a train that was moving lol

  • 4/5 Jared B. 1 year ago on Google
Loved the interactive exhibits, and variety of animals all packed into a relatively small space. I greatly enjoyed my time and would recommend the aquarium to anyone, but the experience is definitely geared more towards small children. Taking away a star for the price of admission, but otherwise this is a great addition to the number of things to do in STL!

  • 4/5 Scott R. 1 year ago on Google
This was a really cool place. Our kiddos had a great time. They loved all the hands on exhibits. This place is meant for kids. I loved the train thing at beginning such a cool part. I gave it a 4 because if you rush through it you will be done in an hour. Stop and experience it all. If you do it will take you still about 3 hours. Lots of fun things to do.

A very nice place, love the otters and getting to see there actions as they are fed. Kind of expensive for the size of the aquarium, but I know it cost a fortune to operate an aquarium which contains these types of animals. The staff was friendly and it is a well maintained aquarium. My family had a very nice time. I highly recommend especially if you have young children. A great learning experience.

Had a great time visiting the aquarium today! We went in the morning and really enjoyed walking around and looking at the aquatic life. My 18 month old also enjoyed seeing the different kinds of fish as well as playing in the water table.

Really nice Aquarium well maintained and beautifully themed. The price seems reasonable for the quality of the exhibition. I have been to several major American aquariums ( Chicago Boston Dallas ect. ) and the St. Louis Aquarium offers an experience on par with these, with only one caveat, it’s a bit Smaller. It’s not that it’s tiny, but when you come savor the experience from the Beginning. The end isn’t to far away. The price is commensurate to the size of the exhibit. A solid recommendation

  • 5/5 Natalie S. 8 months ago on Google
While I would say the ticket is a bit high for the size of the exhibit, the tanks were all full with a lot of different species. There was also a lot of interactive exhibits where you could touch the sea creatures. The light and train show at the beginning was really cool.

  • 5/5 Ruth Z. 8 months ago on Google
A nice place for family fun. We spent about 3 hours and it was quite enough. The start of the journey - the train ride - was a big hit for kids!! They also loved touching sting rays and jellyfish. Kids can definitely go again and again and not get bored :)

  • 3/5 Kevin C. 8 months ago on Google
Very nice displays and setup. Very beautiful. Only let down was how small the actual aquarium is would have figured it be bigger all in all maybe 1 hour or less to see everything. I don't know if it was just while I visited or if like that all the time but the mini golf area was packed and bunched in no real order just a lot of chaos

This was a wonderful place to explore, there were many interactive activities to take part in. The staff was helpful and friendly as well. You start the tour on an interesting ride that gives the participants a different view from each window. This covers the history of ST Louis and is really well out together. From there you set off to discover all sorts of aquatic animals some of which you can even touch. While our guide was super loud I can just chalk that up to excitement. Check this place out when you get the chance. You will learn a thing or three

  • 5/5 Sara I. 5 months ago on Google
It isn't necessarily cheap to get into this place, but the amount of interactivity in this aquarium beats any other I've been to. I've never poked and petted so many fish in my life, nor have I seen so many staff present and ready to educate you about the animals in their care. As two adults, we had a blast, and on a weekday during school hours we were effectively alone in the place so got a lot of freedom to explore at our leisure.
