Took
my
wife
here
for
our
20th
anniversary.
She's
disabled
and
terminal,
but
loved
every
bit
of
it.
Some
areas
aren't
quite
as
wheelchair
accessible
as
they
could
be
and
are
hard
to
navigate.
Obviously
the
designers\architects
planned
only
for
the
minimal
room
for
wheelchair
clearance
and
nothing
more
like
a
larger
chair,
accessories,
someone
pushing
or
otherwise
helping,
etc.
This
made
some
of
the
areas
frustrating
to
navigate,
but
not
all
areas
are
like
this.
Unlike
a
lot
of
other
aquariums
I've
been
to
where
they
try
to
cram
as
many
fish
as
possible
in
tanks
for
people
to
see,
the
St.
Louis
aquarium
seems
to
try
and
focus
on
the
aquatic
life
in
the
lakes
and
rivers
in
Missouri,
and
ultimately
where
the
Mississippi
meets
the
Gulf
of
Mexico.
So
the
variety
of
fish
isn't
overwhelming,
but
it
is
very
informative,
displayed
very
well,
and
you
can
see
the
fish
in
great
detail
with
the
tank
designs.
The
third
level
of
the
aquarium
has
a
"hands
on"
area
where
you
can
touch
some
of
the
aquatic
life
such
as
starfish,
rays,
sharks,
turtles,
plants,
etc,.
Staff
is
on
hand
and
very
informative
about
all
things
available
as
well.
At
the
end
of
course
there
is
a
gift
shop
with
the
usual
selection
of
shirts,
cups,
stuffed
animals,
toys,
etc.
The
shirts
were
actually
decent
quality
and
not
outrageously
overpriced.
I'm
glad
I
brought
my
wife
here
as
she
thoroughly
enjoyed
it
and
had
one
of
the
best
days
she
has
had
in
a
very
long
time.
