The food was really good and the portions were massive (you could split any of the entrees and still have plenty of food). Classic American fare. The server was really timely and professional. The sweet potato fries were suuuuper good — really crispy. It was very dark inside, difficult to read the QR code menu sign, difficult to even see your food. So I personally prefer a place with nicer lighting. There is bar seating but it fills up quickly at night! This place is always packed every time I walk by.

Spacious and interesting place. They accommodated us as a group of 6 plus 2 kids. Fast service, good Irish coffee. Few vegan options ( we needed it at that time) and I can freely say that vegan burger was great! The others from the group looked satisfied too. Prices were ok. Tip: it looks like a library so if you like to take some interesting photos- try this place out

Large Irish neighborhood pub serving up all of the traditional dishes but also new American fare with a lot of great cocktails to choose from. Came here on a Friday and it was completely slammed, but our server Grace was super friendly and everything came out quick. Food: Definitely order the artichoke dip,(pic) it was amazing and I would've eaten a gallon of it. We also ordered the burger and Ruben and both were so good and would order again. We paired them with two spicy margs a piece.

Visited with a group of 9 they found us a table within a couple of minutes. We had two young children with us and this was no issue. Service was fast and good nice to have a good cold Guinness whilst deciding on what to eat Good menu with reasonable selection of food, they also allowed us to customise choices for kids vegetarians and a diabetic. Great atmosphere inside we were quite early and I would guess it gets very busy. Certainly a good choice for food and drink give it a try.

Good spot, would come back. The drinks were a bit light and the chicken was dry and bland in both our salad and sandwich, but everything else made up for it. Our server was very helpful and easy to talk to, and the sides that came with the food were delicious.

What a great spot with rich and beautiful decor and a vibrant and pleasant atmosphere. There is a nice selection of drinks and a solid menu to go with them. The staff was friendly too. Well deserved thumbs up!

Food is good, ambiance is cozy but a little bro-y, drinks are strong. The fried chicken sandwich was pretty good, not super spicy, decently crispy. However, I simply could not believe the size of the asparagus they served me. They don’t have single-use or gender neutral bathrooms.

Great experience here with my boyfriend who eats gluten free (celiac disease). Knowledgeable servers, separate gluten free menu with lots of options, and most importantly great food! One of the few places we’ve found in chi where you can get a celiac-safe burger (with bun) + fries 🍔🍟

Stopped by during our Chicago trip while visiting Lakeview. I remember when this place opened 12 plus years ago when I used to live down the street it was good then and still good today. It's a big restaurant and bar and has outside seating. I was happy to remember it and happy it was still around. I had the ruben with fries and both were good and enjoyed how the fries were cooked. Spouse had the burger and friend had the curry. You probably can't go wrong with any dish.

It's such a great brunch spot! Especially on a beautiful Chicago day. I had the breakfast burger, which was delicious. The fries were fresh, crispy, and perfectly salted. The cocktail was light and right for the time of day 💛

Staff is a bit neutral . But the interior and great food lends 5 stars! Entrees are great prices for the quality and portion size! They even have a fireplace! Large large booths! Very big restaurant…. 2% card payment charge? 🙄🙄

The brussel sprouts were out of this world. The Mac and cheese was solid and the Wilde burger was just okay. A little one note for how interesting the menu makes it sound. The ambience and the service was fantastic though! Good beer and hot cocktail selection. Will definitely be coming back.

Really cute literary theme but they don’t accept reservations for parties less than 6 and it was packed/loud. The appetizer size Macaroni with bacon and bread crumps was perfect. I also really enjoyed the French onion soup, it is on the cheesy side if that’s how you like yours!

Love this place. Never disappoints. Great comfort food classics with vegetarian options. I opt for, well too many of their items to list. But my go tos are the Brussel sprouts, shepherd pie, pot pie, dessert pie, lol and burgers or a grilled cheese with tomato soup… curry, summer salad, etc.

The wait was shorter than predicted and the inside is stunning. We ordered the artichoke dip, Shepard's pie, shrimp scampi (chef's special), espresso martini, and the violet delight. Cocktails were top tier, food was amazing, the waitress was great, and the host was very friendly! I am definitely coming back!

Atmosphere was great and Christmas decorations were awesome. Food on the other hand was not good. Fish and chips was very bland would not recommend. Spicy chicken was not very spicy. Looked and taste like they just sprinkled some hot sauce on it. Was nice size and would have been good if it was spicy. They also added a surcharge that was not explained did not notice until was given receipt.

Fantastic atmosphere, good service, casual with a fancy feel. Pictured: chicken pot pie, house salad, cheese curds. Bartenders here know how to make a dry martini which is rare in my experience. Kudos!

Absolutely loved the vibe of this place! Walked in and we were able to be immediately seated. Blood Maria was a nice spicy cucumber take on a Bloody Mary. Water and coffee stayed full. Would definitely go back if I was in the area! It was raining but the patio was gorgeous.

One of my fav neighborhood spots! So cozy and perfect for a solo outing or meal with friends. Also a go-to spot for me when my family so visiting - always a hit and excellent brunch, service, and drinks.

This place has such a neat vibe! Service was amazing, loved their personalities! Food was yummyyyy! Drinks, absolutely gorgeous looking and tasting! 🥰 The Mac and cheese is so good, you won't regret it!

Great food and friendly service! Definitely get the French Onion Soup. The cocktails were perfect for the hot summer in Chicago. The curried muscles were amazing. We dined inside, cozy & dimly lit atmosphere. Will be coming back soon!

We checked this place out on gut instinct and omg yum what an utterly delicious decision! The atmosphere and vibe of the place were impeccable. The drinks were delightful and the food? Oh my goodness, the food! Yum!!! Everything was utterly delicious and I am so happy we stopped in!

Good Cubano sandwich with fries (fries were cold, thus a four star rating). Excellent service and atmosphere. We sat outdoors on a pleasant day.

Stopped in last minute for a drink and dessert. We got a chocolate and ice cream dessert that tasted great. I got a s'mores martini and it was delicious. However it was $15, so be prepared to spend a little extra.

Had gold fashioned and fish and chips, dessert was the french silk pie and key lime, superb food here, the menu has a lot of choices, everything looked great but the food I chose was especially good! Would recommend 5/5 great date spot!

I did a research before heading to this famous well-decorated restaurant. The Salmon Dinner, Chicken Pot Pie, and Chicken Curry came with a good potion for a family of three. I regret that I did not take photos for these plates because such nice food deserves no waste. Additionally, Jess and her team were so attentive and all of that made this dinning experience a wonderful one!

We had the best experience at Wilde Bar & Restaurant! During our visit, I think this restaurant was by far our favorite place to eat and grab drinks. The food was absolutely delicious, the service attentive, the ambience/decor elegant but not obnoxiously so, and the drinks had a hefty but not overwhelming pour. The Grilled Caesar Salad was surprisingly good! The char on the romaine added such a nice, smoky depth that helped the salad stand out from any other restaurant. The Chicken Pot Pie was to die for. Rich, creamy, decadent, and every ingredient within the pie cooked perfectly. My wife was absolutely in love with it - she still brings it up since we got back from our trip!

Inspiring interior! Great food. Check out the mussels. Bartenders are all knowledgeable and interesting in their own right. Waitstaff move quickly and are there when you want them. Kind of place where friends relax easily and laugh louder.

Beautiful ambiance, good collection if beer and great food. We ordered the lamb burger and chicken pot pie for entrée. The Chicken pot pie was to die for. Perfect place for a nice summer dinner.

Super cool spot with good food. The mac and cheese was to die for. I could do without the mushy tomatoes, but the actual pasta was A1. Only con is my medium rare burger patty had little to no taste. It was so unseasoned. In addition, despite it being medium rare, it was still somehow dry. The onion and other toppings flavored it nicely though. The drinks were BOMB!! So worth the price and finally felt like I wasn't drinking juice with 0.5% alcohol, like some bars and restaurants. Would recommend for the winter time. In the summer, it was just muggy and humid. It was full and surprisingly loud. The tables were so long, that my friend and I had to yell to tell each other stories, LOL! In addition, if you're aged 21-29, you might feel out of place. I guess because it is a bit more classy and pricey, it was occupied by 30+ year olds and even older people. My friend and I still enjoyed ourselves, of course, but just to add in the expectation. Would be wonderful in the winter!! Beware: No parking anywhere!!! 😁😁😁

Our server was nice, prompt, and accommodating. The tables were clean, seemingly should have been a great spot to stop for lunch. EXCEPT for that the Nashville Hot Spicy Chicken Sandwich had basically no flavor🤦 They did have option to get the chicken buffalo style though... maybe that's wear I went wrong 😐.

Yummy food, cool space, and a great drink list! I love literature, so I loved the theme. We sat in the library, had a salad and the chicken dish, and really enjoyed our light, berry-based cocktails. My only complaint was the music volume. I wish I could hear my partner over the loud music that didn't quite seem like something Oscar Wilde would have listened to... But I totally get atmosphere building to fit the local clientele. Great spot!!

Great decor and ambience, and Magners on tap – what's not to like! I love their wings, and you can't go wrong with a burger or the fish and chips. Comforting Irish pub food with a classy literary vibe.

Ordered right before close, knew what we wanted. Order came out within minutes… they use wireless tablet POS systems. French onion soup was my friends favorite… the bowl is its own meal. And a friend of his recommend the soup 🔑 The hot sauces for the chicken sandwiches boast great flavorful zingers, less about heat intensity!

Excellent personable staff. Friendly and welcoming. The food is great, and the gluten free menu is the best we've seen and very tasty. We'll be back.

I had a great experience at Wilde. The restaurant feels very cozy inside and the food here is very good. I got the lamb chops and would very much recommend them. The artichoke dip appetizer was also delicious.

This is one of the cutest restaurants in Chicago! The decor is absolutely amazing, and I love both the inside and outside of the place. I went on a Monday night and it was busy, but the service was fast and good! Very helpful staff and amazing food. They have a gluten free menu. I’ll definitely be back.

I was staying in boys Town at an Airbnb the night before the marathon and was recommended this place by our host Barry. Delicious food and wonderful service we dined inside for dinner and it was amazing I wish I could have gotten more photos of the interior because there were so many books and it was just overall a great experience! My husband got a coconut mojito and a hamburger and fries, and I got the fish and chips. We also shared an artichoke dip. Everything we had was amazing! Would love to come back!

I ordered the chicken pot pie for carry out and this was actually my 1st time patronizing this restaurant. While $17.50 is a bit steep for this item, I thought I’d give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. The item was waiting for me at the prescribed pick up time (allow 25 minutes from the time of ordering). I have no idea whether the pot pie is made from scratch at Wilde Bar & Restaurant or if it is a frozen product from Sisco. But in any event, it had a pastry puff top, no crust underneath, was not over seasoned (pot pies often have too much salt), has a good amount of properly cooked chicken pieces and not excessive amounts of veggies (potatoes, carrots, peas) which I appreciated. The taste was very good. This pot pie is untraditional in that it is rectangular instead of circular in order to better fit the take out box. I’ve attached some photos of the microwaveable container and how it looked when opened.

I love everything about this place. The red sangria is delicious. We had the curried mussels which were amazing. There is not a better grilled cheese around! Parmesan crusted bread and candies bacon pieces in the cheese blend are soooo good. Staff is friendly, ambiance is cool. Def a solid place.

Everything we ordered was amazing! So much flavor. We will definitely be back! My only negative (which doesn't really count) is that the music didn't really match the decor/atmosphere. We were hoping for more of an Irish theme with Irish music but they were playing top 40 hits and it just didn't fit the vibe.

  • 5/5 Sophie J. 1 year ago on Google
Huge restaurant with great service! We all enjoyed our dishes and would like to come back to try more- especially desserts. I got the blackened chicken club and would recommend! Plus would definitely recommend switching to sweet potato fries if that’s your jam!
