I came to Colonial Jewelers to get my ring resized. The ladies clearly know what they are doing. My wedding got pushed up, and so I let them know and they got my ring done in only a couple of days. Everyone was really sweet and so welcoming and helpful! My ring is an antique but they made me feel like I was in capable hands. Thank you so much again for getting my ring back to me in record time! It fits perfectly, and I may come in to get my wedding band resized as I got it at another jeweler who sized me wrong and so it's a size or a half too large. Overall, I'm so happy with my experience!

Brought a Tiffany & Co platinum band with diamond in for appraisal/possible purchase because it no longer fit. They offered me $400 for a $4,500 ring and then said they could add a half size for $270, called Tiffany & Co after I left Colonial and they will resize it for $90. I never told them I knew how much the band was, but they clearly thought they were going to pull a fast one and make a quick buck. Everyone knows Tiffany & Co, only people in Frederick know Colonial Jewelers.

I highly recommend Colonial Jewelers. We found an estate piece wedding ring that was exactly what she was seeking. The price was reasonable enough and the sales experience (thank you Brin!) was very pleasant and professional. Shortly after wearing the ring, my wife noticed the prongs on the setting were a bit sharp and snagging on her sweaters, etc. We returned to Colonial and were disappointed to be invoiced $97 for a repair. Fortunately, upon picking up the repaired ring, the fee was waived upon a better understanding that the ring was an estate piece that we had only just purchased. And the ring looks MUCH nicer after the 'refresh." Thank you to Savannah and the manager for resolving that minor issue quickly and efficiently. That is the kind of quality service that makes a local jeweler so attractive.

Kayleigh helped us pick the perfect ring. She was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the diamonds. She took her time to educate us about the different qualities diamonds have. The professionalism and friendliness does not fall to just Kayleigh, Jill, the sales manager, also took her time to further educate us with expert level knowledge of a few of the diamond qualities. Went to colonial to have some rings sized (and stone upgraded). The staff was very helpful and very knowledgeable. The work they do there is very exceptional. The rings turned out beautiful and the staff helped me surprise my wife for her birthday/our 36th anniversary!

Brynn at Colonial Jewelers helped my boyfriend and I with resizing a ring, and she was absolutely wonderful! Very kind and helpful, and open to answering any questions we had. The resizing itself was a bit pricey, but you're definitely paying for the best quality. Would happily recommend Colonial Jewelers! Updated 03/19 - After wearing my resized ring for a day, I found that it was not resized correctly. It wasn't staying in place, sliding around with every movement. We took it back the next day and CJ was happy to size it down again, free of charge. We were so thankful for their help. However, after getting the ring back again, while it did fit perfectly, one of the diamonds on the side of the band fell out not more than two weeks later!! Ugh. So disappointing and frustrating. We were ensured that all the prongs holding the diamonds would be checked to prevent this very incident. We had to drop the ring off once again so they could replace the diamond. Upon pickup, we were then told that CJ would not do anymore work on the ring, should anything else come up, because of the type of gold it's made of? Hopefully we will have no more issues. The staff were pleasant and helpful through this entire process. But it has been extremely upsetting to need to take my ring back 3 times to be fixed, especially after paying so much for the resize. Not sure if it was worth all the trouble.

My girlfriend and I went in to get permanent bracelets. The scheduling was quick and easy. The woman who assisted us upon entering was very friendly, and went out of her way to welcome us. The process was safe and efficient, and the price was truthfully much lower than I had anticipated. Which was a pleasant surprise. 10/10, would recommend to any and all.

Colonial was absolutely great throughout the entire process of me buying an engagement ring for my now fiancé (I was not the most decisive customer). Something is seriously off with this business. My story is so bizarre as to be unbelievable. But I am not a bot and this really happened. My husband and I met up with our son and his family in Frederick and headed to this store to have our daughter-in-law's ring resized. They told us the ring was "extremely worn" (it's less than 4 yo) and gave us a price: $576. After a lot of haggling, Patty brought it down to $400. Before we left, my husband used their restroom. The toilet overflowed and he told them what happened. They reassured him and said the toilet was clogged. He apologized several times. The next day, colonial called my son and said my husband left their bathroom in such a state that their daughter was traumatized by cleaning it. They accused him of spreading stool on the walls (!), and said the ring was now going to cost $1,000 and their odd warranty was off the table. I was so upset that I couldn't sleep that night. Today I took the ring to my local jeweler and asked them to evaluate it. A couple prongs needed tightening and one diamond realigned. I asked for a second opinion. Same story. Price for small repairs and resizing: $265. No drama, and everything was transparent. Avoid Colonial Jewelers. I have no idea what is going on there, but it still haunts me and I can't make sense of it.

Laura did an amazing job at helping me find the perfect engagement ring! There was a pre-set oval ring in the case, and it was exactly like what I envisioned, only I wanted a larger diamond. Laura brought out a beautiful oval diamond, and after a long day of shopping around for similar specs, Colonial made the best deal for the most beautiful diamond. They made the exact same setting as the ring in the case, specifically for my diamond. It came out absolutely perfect! All of the the outstanding reviews were true. Needless to say, I’ll be a return customer!

My husband took my engagement ring and wedding band to Colonial Jewelers to be fixed. I had worn them for the past 10 years and since they were not soldered together, the brackets holding my small diamonds were worn down, and several small diamonds were missing. Colonial Jewelers communicated well with my husband when they found concerns with my diamonds along the way. They were able to replace my small diamonds, repair both bands, replace the large brackets holding my engagement diamond (terribly sorry, don't know the terms) and solder the bands together. I could not be happier with the work done by this jeweler! They look like new and are gorgeous once again! I am thankful he went to Colonial Jewelers to have it repaired and for the gentleman that did such amazing work, thank you! We had a great experience here for our wedding bands! Everyone is so nice and treats you like royalty. We had so much fun picking out our bands. My only advice would be to make sure you order your jewelry way in advance if it is custom. Our wedding bands came in a month later than we expected / what was quoted to us. I do not blame Colonial for this and everything came in in time for wedding day, but just be aware with shipping etc. that it may take longer. Overall we had a wonderful experience and will use them in the future!

I would not recommend this company. My husband and I got married shortly before covid happened, and they expected their customers to brave that virus to come in and get their wedding rings checked in order to keep the in-house warranty valid. This is not all, however, my MIL wrote an honest review of this company after our final encounter with them and they continued to harass my husband, me, and her with calls to take the review down. This went on for several weeks until they finally rebuttled the honest review with lies and slander. This company has several negative reviews for profiling customers, and this isn't short of what they've done to us. They accused us of something we didn't do, that they have no proof of, and then had the audacity to reply to my MILs review in an attempt to save face. This is how they treat their customers. Buyer beware.

I went in there not knowing much about rings. Amanda made the process easy and enjoyable. We ended up with an awesome ring that my wife loves.

Where do I begin??? Amanda was absolutely amazing. She is not only kind and heart warming, but she has the up most patients that I have never seen before. My husband said I could upgrade my rings and I was VERY indecisive on what I wanted. Amanda could of easily shown me what they had in store, and told me to pick what was available. But she did not do that. She took it to another level, and took the time to not only look at every possibility there was, but even called into suppliers to see if there were different series in the ring I wanted. Amanda made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted and found the most beautiful custom rings that I am over the moon obsessed with. She knew how important my husbands grandmothers diamond meant to me, and she made sure, it shined bright up against my custom infinity wedding band. I could go on and on. End of the day, Colonial Jewelers is amazing and Amanda is a star in my book! I can’t thank you enough Amanda, for taking the time with myself, and my husband, along with getting me exactly what I wanted. As long as Amanda is there, she will be my go to girl for jewelry!

My engagement ring came from here and whenever I go in to get my ring cleaned, the staff is always friendly and professional. My husband also had a great experience here when purchasing the ring and would definitely go back to purchase more jewelry. I do still wish they would do the courtesy 6 month reminder calls for ring inspection to keep up with your warranty - they've recently stopped doing that and your warranty will expire if you don't make it in within the 6 months. They kindly re-upped our warranty after we came in, but the reminder call was always nice to make sure we stayed on top of it.

They did amazing work for a good cost and a tight deadline. I needed a silver coin engraved and they went far and beyond expectations by cleaning the coin up expertly. This is my first time using Colonial Jewelers for a men's ring and men's gold bracelet repair. I was quickly warmly greeted and attended to even though the store was very busy. They have a lot of high quality employees. I was escorted to the repair area. The jewelry was examined and a written estimate, with jewelry photograph, reviewed with me. Shortly thereafter I was on my way. A few days later I received a call that both items were ready. On pick up it was the same fine experience. Both items were repaired to perfection. They both looked brand new! I was amazed at the quality of work. The total cost for the extensive repairs for both items was under $150.00!!! I am a raving fan of this well run "jewel of Frederick." Please note: During the COVID-19 pandemic you will need to call to make an appointment before entering. I called while i was nearby and was able to get right in. But that may not always happen. So plan ahead.

I cannot say enough great things about Happy Jewelers. My latest purchase with them was an anniversary gift for my boyfriend. I asked them to recreate his passed father’s necklace and they recreated it perfectly!! The necklace was very specific so I sent them pictures and they were amazing to communicate with. Both Gabe, Danny, and staff are the most genuine and caring jewelers there ever are. They are less salesmen / salespeople and more jewelry artisans that truly care more for their customers investments than just making a buck. I have been with these guys for almost the last 20 years and recommend them to my entire family wholeheartedly. Our daughters come from out of state when looking to purchase jewelry and exclusively go to Happy Jewelry. They are very knowledgeable and honest about their inventory, and can get almost anything you can think of. And when they can't they'll refer you to any of their resources without hesitation. Honestly who does that? THEY DO...... Another perk I've been enjoying lately is that they do exclusive custom jewelry pieces, of which have become very valuable heirlooms for me and my family. Gabe and Danny treat everyone of their customers as family regardless of the size of your purchase. I've seen this over and over. I work hard for my money and don't take spending lightly. To my surprise, I was unimpressed with the store and with the products. I had heard so much about this little jewelry store and had expected that they would meet my expectations. More importantly, I was dismayed by the complete lack of consideration the owners and many of the employees who did not understand the importance of wearing masks, showed their guests. I understand there is, unfortunately, no mandate for masks in Maryland and I am triple vaccinated. I had open heart surgery 18 months ago and I know how to take care of myself. But one of my wonderful Miles & Stockbridge lawyers, a business around the corner, has had breast cancer and is at high risk. Had she walked into this business, she may have contacted the Covid virus. The reckless indifference this local business has shown its guests makes me decide never to walk in here again. Had I not asked for a piece to be custom made, I would have canceled my order. I will not walk in here again. This business is what you get when you have a big fish in a very small pond. I expected better. EDIT to OWNER’S RESPONSE: You, Patty, were there in your office when I showed and discussed not only my anger but my disapproval as well. No one came to discuss the matter. Brynn was the only one who had the courage to do so. I understand the fine line you must walk as a business. For me, that would have been having every employee, including yourself, your husband, and your daughter, wear masks to PROTECT your guests. You cannot control what people who enter your business do; you cannot force them to wear masks. But as someone who has contributed several times to your breast cancer awareness campaign, I was deeply disappointed that you showed no concern for anyone who was dealing not only with breast cancer, but any other serious disease. I am disappointed and telling me to call means nothing to me personally. I do not care to discuss this any further. Curious Iguana is a wonderful business to look up to and to thrive to be on equal footing.

We love Colonial. My husband was able to take my Grandmothers diamond and put it on a newer modern band for my engagement ring. We then went and looked at wedding bands here and were greeted with champagne glasses and many coupons for local wedding vendors. Not to mention Laura is amazing to work with!
