Just picked up our wedding bands yesterday and they came out beautifully. We worked with Joe and Caroline and they were incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. They have great personalities to which meet our experience a lot more fun and they did a great job making us feel comfortable. I have a diamond pendant from my mom that is my most sentimental possession. Several months ago the chain broke so I put the pendant away until I could afford a new chain. As Christmas approached my daughter asked for a gift idea from my husband to me. I immediately said “I need a new necklace for my diamond. Included were diamonds from my original halo-setting engagement ring and a blue topaz, along with his diamond tie tack. The blue topaz reminds me of his beautiful Caribbean blue eyes along with 4 diamonds that represent me and my children. The smaller diamonds that surrounded my original stone were set into the outside of his band; this represents our seven grandchildren. Throughout the entire process, Mike communicated with me, making sure that they captured my vision perfectly. Before they actually set the stones, they had me come in once more to assure that it was perfect. Sarkis and Mike took so much time to ensure that my dream would come true. Great place for watch collectors. I came in earlier this year to look around, they have a bunch of brands, everyone was very pleasant and enthusiastic about watches. I have recently purchased a new piece of jewelry, had a custom ring made, and had a necklace repaired and could not be more pleased. I visited many different jewelers in RI. I felt dismissed often and not heard. When I walked into Baxter’s Fine Jewelry store, my experience was totally different. I customized a contemporary, fashion-y ring from the ground up using a family diamond, with Mike’s and Arthur’s help. I had ideas of what I Iiked but didn’t know how to translate them into a new design. Mike guided my vision and introduced me to alexandrite stones (to represent the June birthdays in my family, and which change color in the light). The ring came out better than I imagined and the process was fun. Someone had recommended Baxter’s to me and I would do the same — they are knowledgeable, professional, flexible, efficient, and great at their craft.

Several friends recommended Baxters to me for some rings I wanted to have designed. I presented my ideas and their design department did up their creations. We worked together, back and forth, the end result being EXACTLY what I wanted. Jennie was my point person and she could not have been more polite, respectful and prompt with all of our conversations. Mike gave me the history of my old watch and helped me to download a manual. Next time I will probably just skip the middle man and buy the watch from them. You want to work with these nice nerds! Purchased a pendant necklace for my wife on our anniversary in June. She noticed in November the chain turned copper color. went back to the store and discovered this was not the chain that should have come with the pendant. It was however the one that was on it when I bought it. So, we had a problem. I am happy to report that Paul replaced the chain without question. He certainly didn't have to because I could not prove that this was indeed the chain, I said it was. I appreciate he gave me the benefit of the doubt and replaced the chain. We've had nothing but great experiences with Baxter's, particularly Janina. We first came in on a whim to try on weddings rings for my fiance (who has no idea what he wanted) - we had amazing service and bought a custom ring on the spot for him at an amazing price. They also did some slight alteration to my engagement ring to make it wear a little easier and always offer to do a deep clean when I bring it in. We will be going back there for years to come!

Do not even know where to begin with this review. To say Baxter's exceeded my expectations is an understatement. After my grandmother died my mom and aunt decided they wanted to give me her old wedding rings as I am the only female grand daughter. The rings were beautiful, but broken. I am not much of a jewerly person, I basically only wear my wedding/engagement rings. So having no idea what I wanted, I walked into Baxter's with the rings and a vague idea. I knew I wanted to incorporate the December birth stone as my grandma, grandpa and myself are all December birthdays. They suggested they could make pendants with the bands (2), which was a perfect gift for my mom and aunt. Then made me the most beautiful ring with the diamonds, swiss blue topaz and a platnum band. All three came out above my expectations. They were extremely warm and inviting and took genuine interest in their customer. I was blown away with this place and they have a customer for life. I have know Paul since he was a young man and trustworthy, professional, knowledgeable and kind are the adjectives I would use to describe him. I was absolutely heartbroken when one of the 4 diamonds went missing. We cannot say enough about Paul and the Baxter Jewelry family. He treated us with direct attention throughout our vists, attentively listening to what we were looking for, and taking the time to explain and teach many things about jewelry and the process that we did not previously know. I had a great experience here, especially when working with Paul to design a custom piece using stones from some old jewelry. I felt like he really cared about what I wanted and wanted to give me the best price and value he could. I also dropped off some things for repair and the repairs were excellent (particularly a ring that I had resized and that needed a stone replaced). My only complaint is that one of the employees was weirdly pushy about my ring size. During my first visit, I requested to have a ring resized and told her what size I wanted. She didn't believe that size would fit me and insisted I needed a larger size. She didn't believe me until I tried on a ring sizer and showed her it was correct, even though I told her I'd already been sized only a week before. When I returned to pick up the resized ring, I took off my engagement ring to try the resized ring on. She saw my engagement ring on the counter (not on my finger) and insisted it was too small for me and needed to be resized. I told her it was the exact same size as the resized ring I was trying on/picking up, and showed her that the resized ring fit perfectly. She still didn't believe my engagement ring would fit (even though I came into the store already wearing it) until I put it back on and showed her it fits perfectly. It was weird and made me feel uncomfortable that she was insisting my fingers were larger than what I was telling her. Otherwise, I would absolutely recommend Baxter's and will definitely return for any future needs!

I had a custom ring designed from my original wedding ring that broke. It was originally a solitaire marquise ring with a wedding band with diamonds. I needed to get my ring fixed and after 20 years I no longer loved the shape of my stone or liked my gold band. I didn't want to spend a ton of money and didn't want to exchange my stone for a circle as I wanted to keep my original diamonds for sentimental reasons. Jim Paon completely transformed my ring and all I can say is it's amazing! Everyone at Baxter's is top notch and they really went out of their way to make the ring look amazing. I love that it looks different and is something I love and still encompasses the stones I was given 20 years ago. Thank you!

We specifically sought Baxter’s out for their experience with creating custom jewelry and their commitment to customer satisfaction; it’s a core part of their marketing and we’ve heard the reviews. However, this story ends with Baxter’s craftsmanship causing a diamond to go missing and them doing little to anything to compensate. After my father’s passing in the spring, my mom and I went to Baxter’s in hopes of creating a custom ring out of her wedding band and engagement ring. It’d be a tribute to their marriage she could wear and remember him. Their customer service was top-notch, and they made my mom feel so special. The ring was absolutely beautiful and everything she could have hoped for. The price point of around $5,000 was high, especially considering that all of the diamonds were ours to begin with, but we moved forward with the design knowing that this would be a lifetime piece and ultimately a piece that stayed in the family. My mom picked the ring up on a Friday evening after work. On the following Sunday morning, less than 48 hours of having the ring, she saw a diamond missing: it just fell out! When we brought the ring to Baxter’s the team apologized and replaced the missing diamond at no cost. However, they acted as if this was no big deal and simply a fluke. When we asked about financial compensation, they basically laughed at us and said they didn’t see how that was necessary. We explained that their poor craftsmanship caused a diamond that my late father gave to my mother to fall out and go missing; both the financial and emotional value of that seems so obvious to us. Finally, the owner offered a $100 Baxter’s gift card, a further insult to what was already a less than ideal situation. We explained that a $100 gift card puts just a small dent in cost of any item they sell, is just putting that money back in their register, and that my mother wasn’t in a financial position to buy any more jewelry given that she just spent $5,000 with them. Now, she wears the ring in fear of another stone falling out at any time, especially considering that Baxter’s provided no real explanation as to how it happened. They’ve assured us that they checked it and ran it through a number of tests to ensure it is safe, but that was also done when they created it? We paid thousands of dollars solely for their craftsmanship, which ultimately caused a diamond to fall out of a ring after just 2 days of wearing it.

We were recommended to Baxter’s by a coworker. We had already visited a few jewelers looking to create a wedding band that I loved to go with the engagement ring my fiancé designed. From the moment I called Baxter’s I was impressed. They got us right in that evening with an appointment (Covid guidelines at the time). My family has been going to Baxter's ever since I was young so when I got engaged this summer, I knew I wanted to work with them to design my ring. My fiance and I worked with Janina and she was amazing! She ordered a selection of stones for us to look at since we were interested in blue green sapphires. She also made it super easy to collaborate on the design over email since my fiance and I moved shortly after picking the stone. She was so accommodating when I suggested some changes to the first design and helped me understand how the final design will look compared to the CAD and wax model.
