Place looks nice. But their day pass rules are ridiculous and just plain stupid. They allow day passes for $18 for people who live outside a 60 mile radius. I, a Rochester resident, have no option of a day pass. I must pay the almost $100/month to get inside. For a busy person who works and travels quite a bit I would only be able to make it 2-3 times per month. Definitely not worth it. Y’all should rethink your day pass rules. I’m sure you have a greedy reason for your 60 mile radius, but you lost a customer bc of it. Good riddance.

Blown away. This is the best active center I have been in. The sheer amount of options for the family make this a special investment. The kid's area, pool, track, exercise equipment, cafe, office rooms, and more! Wow.

I feel important when coming here. Not only do the front desk employees make you feel welcome, but the quality of this place makes you feel welcome too. I love the fact that you can go exercise and shower before you leave. Everything you need is provided; from towels, to shampoo and conditioner! Great experience so far. God Bless!

Pricey but well worth it! This is one of the nicest fitness facilities I've worked out at. I was visiting from out of town, and the RAC has day passes available for purchase by guests, who aren't affiliated with a club member. I swam both days I went, and the pool setup (25m lap pool + separate family pool) was outstanding. Locker rooms are spacious and full of nice amenities. The club is also very family-friendly but not to the point that kids are intrusive. The RAC is massive and includes an indoor track (9 laps/mile) and multiple courts in addition to standard cardio and weight training areas. If you're looking for an all-inclusive fitness facility, this is it.

Not willing to jump through religious hoops in order for this business to consider my family, my family. Not going to go to the government center and file paper work just to go to a gym. In my almost 20 year relationship, the RAC is the only business that has ever discriminated. Oh well.. I hear there might be other places that have heavy stuff to pick up. ;)

This is the best club value I have ever seen for this type of facility. This place has everything you think you want and more. The only way they could improve would be to build a golf course.

They treat their employees terribly and have an extremely high turnover rate for associates. Their facilities are great, but I can't be in the building without feeling icky because of this.

The staff are very professional and friendly. They truly want to make your experience at the RAC excellent. The whole place is impeccably clean, and it's a big facility! Awesome state of the art e v e r y t h i n g! Go to work out or go to relax spa style. Lots of people present but plenty of room for all. Great place, super value for the reasonable membership cost!

I am reviewing the RAC from the perspective of someone focused mainly on strength training. Locker rooms: Very nice and high quality overall. Good shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Towels are always warm and clean. Generally the area is very clean, only complaint is the dirty water on the floor near the hot tub. Maybe an occasional squegee? I love the steam room and sauna, both are very relaxing after a long workout. I wouldn't use the hot tub in the locker room personally. Lots of people just jump in naked after working out without showering off first. Gross. One last suggestion, maybe add TVs? Planet fitness has them, priced at $20 monthly. Equipment: I can generally always get a bench press or squat rack instantly, or within 3 mins max. I workout generally around 4-5 pm too so it's busy. Some of the machines I do like, for example the hoist lateral raise, and hoist mid row machines are great. But other machines that are basically essentials in any gym priced over $60 a month are missing. There's no preacher curl machine, no standing side lateral raise machine, no hack squat, no platforms for Olympic lifts, etc. For $100 a month I expected more. Iron Physique has much more specialized equipment for less than half the cost monthly. Other amenities: Basketball courts are usually always crowded and taken up by games unless you go at an off time. Difficult to find an open hoop to shoot around in the afternoon or evening. Swimming pool is nice, but not very deep. Tennis costs extra too fyi. It should be free for members after 6 pm or something, considering the $100 a month. The one thing that would make the membership fee worth it was if you really utilized the group classes available for sign up. Personally I prefer to weight train solo. Conclusion: If you don't plan on doing lots of group classes, you can get much more value for you money at other gyms in my opinion.

They have a plethora of equipment to target any muscles that you want to. The pool is nice and warm, and the hot tub is amazing. I almost fell asleep. They have a sauna and steam room there. If you like basketball, tennis, or even racket ball, then it's a great place to go. The staff was friendly and very helpful when I needed directions. All in all, it's probably the best gym I've ever been to or even seen in my life!

I've been a member for about 2 months now and started out using the eGym. I love how its all set for you, and you can come, workout, and don't have to think about what you're going to do, how the machine needs to be adjusted, or how much weight is best. Steve and Josh were great with the personalized training and got me a routine I need to get fit and stay loose. Like Nike says...Just Do It!

A large beautifully maintained recreation center with two indoor saltwater pools, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, childcare, exercise studios, Pilates, yoga, hot tubs and more. Most classes are included in membership. Ample parking. Best of all, it has a welcoming atmosphere for all ages. Highly recommended.

The RAC is so good for me. Not only does it help me physically but mentally. I see all the friendly people mornings and my day just brightens.

I worked at the rochester athletic club for about a decade. It is expensive, but worth it if you use it. Those with families will see the most benefit. I have never seen a cleaner changing room in my life. As a parent my two kids love all the rac has to offer. The only thing I would change is adding a kiddie slide to the zero depth outdoor pool.

Superb fitness center! Great variety of classes included in membership and excellent group instructors! Awesome extras onsite - sauna, pools, relaxation chairs and more. Love being a RAC member!

RAC was an unexpected find after we moved here for a city this size! It’s large enough to accommodate all members. This is hands down the cleanest facility I’ve ever been to. I have never been there without seeing an employee cleaning and restocking the changing rooms. The staff is exceptional as well. They are always so cheerful, positive and helpful. Regardless of your size and fitness level they are there to help!

A little pricy but totally worth it for the gym and all other benefits (pool, courts, sauna, etc) especially for winter time. The neighborhood is a great option if you’ve got kids.

Awesome safe, amazing group fitness classes and mind body classes. Sometimes the best part of the day is the warm water pool

Such a great gym and place to workout at. They have great equipment, basketball courts, pools, tennis courts, etc. and their locker rooms are clean too! There are always people there also and it offers so much. I highly recommend it and love working out there! :)

Amazing facility and friendly staff. We aren't members, my family was there for a tennis tournament, but they treated us as if we were.

Beautiful facility, very clean, huge variety of activities, love the sauna and steam room. It would be nice if it were free for members to use the indoor tennis courts. Can't wait to visit the outdoor water park and cabana, and tennis courts.

This gym has excellent and clean facilities, friendly and accommodating staff, and a variety of options everyone can enjoy. There are several rooms available for weight lifting, running on treadmills and track, basketball, racquetball, swimming, and a fun area for kids. I loved my time as a guest and could easily envision myself going everyday.

RAC is a excellent facility for working out and spending time. They have a lot to offer and individual and also families. There have been renovations since the COVID shutdown, including a couple dining options, new conference rooms, day care, and compliance with required safety. The outdoor pool is open for the season. The locker rooms were all redone before 2020, and are far better than the old locker rooms. Overall the Rochester Athletic Club is a fantastic place.

A quality athletic club that’s worth every penny of its higher-priced membership.

  • 5/5 Julio D. 2 years ago on Google
This place is amazing! I have been a member now for 2 months and have no complaints. The gym feels like a private country club. Amazing daycare and state of the art weight equipment. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a quality work out facility to join RAC. Special shout out to Jodi for all the help with the kids club/ daycare. I never before seen a gym attempt to offer couples date nights. This place really offers the whole package for families!

Amazing place. It really has everything. Pool (indoor and outdoor), fitness gym, studio, personal trainer, amazing locker rooms with saunas, child play areas, daycare, track, deli, and probably other things I'm not aware of. Staff are also very friendly and helpful. The only negative is that the young lifeguards on duty don't seem really attentive or to care about their job much.

Large, new, well equipped athletic club with indoor & outdoor pools, Pilates, basketball and tennis courts. Relish juices, healthy food, treats and break areas.

The staff is always friendly and the gym does a great job keeping their guests safe during these trying times.

New to town was recommended by friends to this place. No availability to sign up for memberships, try a day pass, or even look around. Lost my business before I made it past the front door.

  • 5/5 John E. 2 years ago on Google
It was great to be back. They got new machines, and moved some of the old ones. I was getting my bearings. Seems like everything was refurbished and in good condition.
