This is a really nice gym. I’d say it’s the best I’ve been too! Not that busy but it’s got so many weights and machines. It’s triple the size of some of the places I’ve been If you enjoy the gym and want a place that’s they best your gonna get then go here. I’d travel to go here even if it was 20 odd minutes. I’m over 2 hours away now :( If your in the area and can travel here then go here. It’s the best gym and you guys who get to use it are lucky !

I paid 100.00 a month for family membership, asked to speak to manager on several occasional , no response . The pools where never available to use as they were constantly used for swimming. The only time you could use the pools were wednesday and and for a few hours on weekends. Not exactly family friendly . Now they are sending me demanding letters and threatening me with debt collection agencies. Not happy as no one has has bothered to even contact me back.

25 pounds for a day pass is not reasonable. I expect much cleaner and better facilities for this level of money. Staff were generally unhelpful, uninformed, and kept calling me Steve. My name is not Steve and I dont appreciate being called Steve repeatedly after clearly stating my name wasnt Steve. I found the whole experience confusing.

Membership fees are close to £50 per month, from which you would expect high standards throughout. Unfortunately this is not the case. The gym and classes are brilliant, but the spa is outdated and needs work. Steam room never works properly and often has a funny smell, the plunge pool has been faulty for well over 12 months, there are broken tiles throughout. The showers are weak and need updating. I understand that the pandemic hit businesses hard, but I feel as a member I'd like to see the membership cost increase used to improve peoples experience in the gym instead of the owners new ferrari outside.

I have my 3 children registered with M club. The main reason for joining was to take my kids for swimming. I pay monthly membership fee for my children and despite that we are unable to use swimming pool. Because it is mostly reserved for swimmimg lessons. All the prime time post school, whole of saturday and even sundays are blocked for members till 1530.On weekdays you can only go after 1830 and its so close to their bedrime that its not possible to take them do late on weekdays. Anyone looking for membership for children for use of swimming pool are better off booking the classes rather than this membership because you dont get anything out of it.total waste of money. I will not renew my membership. There are better and cheaper alternatives available.

Too expensive for the facilities and cleanliness. Pool areas are always dirty and closed off for members for various classes. Staff don’t wear masks or appear to clean anything. Now at Nuffield health which is far better all round.

Very unfriendly female staff became argumentative and rude when I asked questions was told you get a free pass for a friend when you join.. which is a good idea to recruit new people to join the gym. went to use it tonight and was just completely shocked with the sarcastic attitude I got I simply explained i that’s how I became a member I didn’t have no free pass cards I just came with my friend and signed some paperwork and they took my details and I was allowed in there was no promotion on it was around October time you just get a free pass when you join as I was told when I joined afterwards In the end I offered to pay for my friend and the staff member a female with brown hair refused us entry with a smug smile on her face when I have a full membership absolutely disgusting behaviour my friend runs a boxing gym with just over 200 members and simply wanted to try the facilities with the purpose of trying to get the majority of his athletes on to your books for the sauna steam room plunge pool and basic weight training what a loss that has has been due to one staff members who’s had a bad day I personally enjoy the gym that staff member needs to look for a new job more suited to her and what she’s into and what she enjoys the gym and training is part of some people lives weather it’s be sport mental health or weight loss last thing we need is people who can’t communicate as adults

Facilities are constantly broke and in bad condition, cleanliness is awful, nothing good to say about the place. Other members are constantly talking about how bad everything is for the price of £50 a month, it isn't acceptable. I joined for the hydrotherapy however there is always something that is not working, if not multiple things at once. Tiles are scummy and cracked, things have been broken for a year and still not fixed. Corridor to swimming pool often smells of urine. Sadly will be cancelling my membership due to the bad upkeep of the place...which is sad because I need the hydrotherapy but can't justify £50 a month for the state of it. Some of these reviews of it being 5 star can't be real 😳

Went to watch my granddaughter at a baby swim club. Very friendly and helpful staff. coffee bar available.

  • 2/5 Georgia M. 4 years ago on Google
Really friendly staff on entry. Just a warning.. it's £20 each adult to swim and £7.50 for a 6 month old to swim for 30 mins (safety advice from doctors) so after putting all of our details on the system the receptionist remembered the learning pool was closed because something was broken. So we never got to go. Visited Fenton manor instead £5 each adult and £1.75 for baby

Gym fine. Showers and changing area could do with sprucing up. Pool; small but clean. My only problem is with the staff. Seems to be some weird inside joke where they deliberately get your name wrong for their own amusement. Not funny, and not professional.

Editing review as this gym has made significant improvement in quality! New treadmill machines, renovating downstairs gym space, opened cafe, pool and spa facilities improved! Ongoing developments but much happier with quality at present and feel now worth prices. Keep up great work M-club! Old review from 4 months ago: I’m a little disappointed by this gym at the moment. I joined over 2 years ago and was very happy at the time. However; the quality for price has absolutely gone down. The gym is VERY expensive, and the day pass fee is 25 pounds! Furthermore, they have not bothered to open the squash courts yet and they are all full of equipment too. The bathrooms and change rooms are very dirty - full of hair and a strange smell. I just think for the price, the quality has gone down hill. Unfortunate as very convenient for hospital staff. I think I will be leaving this gym in favour of Nuffield

Use the pool for swimming lessons, cleanliness in family changing rooms has gone majorly down hill it can be smelly at times. They are having work done but the grime is not due to that. Some of the grids stick up and are dangerous, be careful by the family pool as extremely slippy and sloped.

Went on a day pass to check the place out. Quite expensive but they do have a pool. Equipment was relatively modern but not the cleanest. Barbers and restaurant onsite. Good parking. Strange experience with one staff member who kept refering to me as ‘Steve’, like all the time. I even corrected them a few times and said my name is Lenka, but they just replied ‘alright Steve’. Bizarre.

Worth the money. Newly refurbished equipment as of September 22. Brand new equipment. Clean. Staff are lovely. You never wait for a machine and then you have the hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room as a bonus. Some of the stuff breaks but seems to be fixed within the week usually. Never get kids in the way in the pool or sauna area because they aren't allowed. Never get kids in the way when you're working out because they're not allowed. Generally friendly members too, don't get too many gym bros sat on the benches reading their phone or groups of 10 of them hogging a station. Never even been to the festival park venue but I guess that's a bonus to membership too since that's only a few years old. It's pricey what with 40 to join and also locked in for a year (6 months on a corporate membership like public sector workers) but it's definitely worth the money. You've got more chance of sticking to it when you can turn up and work out without getting annoyed.

Huge spa & fitness. Good variety and quality of equipment in the gym. Amazing pools and love the jacuzzi/sauna. We enjoy our time in M Club. Approximate charges are £50/month, it’s a bargain if you are a regular.

Staff are great very obliging. Swimming coach Robyn is fantastic. Nice and clean place. The only negative is it should be a family environment and the amount of bad language from the gym area is terrible and should be addressed. Public areas and people should be encouraged and reminded as such

I changed to MClub from another local gym. Although significantly more expensive, the range, variety and standard of equipment is far superior. The additional facilities; pool, steam room etc enhance every visit. Staff are helpful, not invasive, and the cleaning staff are exceptional. If your budget allows, you will not find a better gym in my opinion.

Bobos barbers is a high quality professional business. Dave is fantastic. Today I booked a last minute appointment for 2.30pm knowing I had an urgent dental appointment at 3pm. Dave delivered a great cut in record time to ensure I was happy with my cut whilst making sure I got to the dentists on time. All the staff are courteous, polite and professional and deserve to do well. Let’s hope this lockdown will do it’s job and be over quickly so that businesses like Bobos can get back to normal. Well done guys!👍

So the governments shut down gyms and despite paying an extra £25 to freeze my membership before the lockdown, ive been charged for 2 extra months now with no chance of a refund, £80 down the drain. To top it off the manager was extremely rude and condescending when i asked for any resolution. When i was going, the steam room was broken for months and so were many of the machines. Waste of money, AVOID

Staff are lovely & car park is great. My only issue is cleanliness. I go to this gym a lot & never see the machines cleaned. There has been a dried up piece of chewing gum in a treadmill cup holder for several months, I feel this alone proves the point that the machines are not properly cleaned. The machines are all really grubby & full of dust. The carpets are filthy, I never dare to do sit ups there and instead do them once I get home - not what you expect for an expensive membership. I feel a lot more money & attention has been given to the Hanley branch & Newcastle has been neglected, which is a shame as the membership costs are the same for both!

  • 5/5 Jack K. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic place, no mither with parking and all the equipment is first rate. If you are committed to your health and fitness, then this is the place to go. Also the barbers (BoBo's) is superb and open to all. Parking is no bother, just drive on and park up and get yourself looking fresh.

I love this gym. Friendly, clean and so well equipped and organised. Now a member so e joying the fab aqua classes followed by relaxing use of spa facilities and a coffee in the cafe that serves a wide range of hot and cold snacks and meals. Perfect 😍

Overall I do enjoy being a member here. The only feedback I would offer is that with their new track system members should be allowed wifi to go on the site and tack progress

  • 5/5 Catfood M. 2 years ago on Google
There are two M clubs around these parts, one in Hanley and this one in Newcastle. If it's a bigger range of equipment you're after, go to Hanley. If a swim is more your thing, come to Newcastle. They still have plenty of gym equipment but they have a better pool, an amazing large hydrotherapy pool, plunge pool, steam room and a sauna. Things are clean and tidy and everything's in working order.

I've been a member at M Club for 10 + years. The club has always been been good and appears to be getting better, their customer service and communication in particular are really good. Today I dropped my phone at the club and didn't realise until I got home. I rang the club and spoke to Millie who searched the gym and the car park and found my phone for me. She was polite, friendly and clearly effective - thank you Millie.

I have been attending this gym for 4 months now. It is clean and there is so much equipment to choose from. The staff are very helpful and friendly and always willing to help or answer questions about my training plan. It has a lovely atmosphere and the other gym members are super friendly and kind. I was worried that people would watch me while I worked out as I was a total beginner when I started, but I can honestly say I haven't felt uncomfortable AT ALL. Everyone has been super supportive and nice. I look forward to going to the gym and it has changed my life and overall health for the better. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Absolutely brilliant! My son, who is autistic and ADHD, had his first proper hair cut, he liked his long hair, but recently decided he wanted a whole new style! We were both nervous, but Dave was awesome, he was very chilled, and put us at ease straight away. He talked to him, and asked him what he'd like, supplied snacks and entertainment (Netflix), and was a bit out out when my son said "no" to clippers, he did a fabulous job. I can not describe how happy you've made us. Thank you so much Dave!

We visited Bobos today for my little boy’s first haircut. Dave was just lovely and absolutely brilliant with him- so patient and clearly so used to dealing with little ones. A great experience for us both!

Lovely gym, recently joined, I rate it one star, the fact that I have to pay £10 for my 9 year old, every time I take him for a swim. I think that it is totally unacceptable and not child friendly. Was told they’re no longer do kids membership.

The gym equipment is great lots of it and plenty of variety. The spa let's it down having used both sites now I thought the Hanley one was a bit rubbish, (locker rooms look knackered and always full of litter.) Spa lacking there. At castle the locker rooms are nicer but the spa is much worse. hydrotherapy pool is pretty useless and uncomfortable. At almost £50 a month I was expecting a bit of luxury but council run gyms 20 years ago were much nicer.

Good gym. Quiet enough in the day to enjoy without feeling watched or anything. Just need a little more tlc in some areas. But they are refurbing alot so can't fault it :)

Brilliant barbers! Lovley staff 😃. My son is on the spectrum, and he wouldn't go anywhere else because of the care and effort the team has shown him over the years

Helpful staff. Good choice of classes. Easy access. Tired looking in some places but they are slowly renovating spa area. I really enjoy going to this gym

It's my special place to relax. The Acqua Aerobics, Yoga classes, and sauna/jacuzzi time are my favourite hours. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. I always recommend The M Club to all my friends and clients.

Our 5 year old is always so excited to have his hair cut and tells everyone that Luca is the best barber in the world. Took our 2 year old for his first hair cut today and Luca was brilliant with him. Would 100% recommend!

Absolutely fantastic place. Luca is so good with our son. He stayed calm the entire time. Taking it all at our son’s pace. He even at one point sat on the floor cutting out boys hair as that is where he felt most comfortable. We will definitely be back.

😐 Good value family activity. The rapids, hot tub and slide are all really good, but the mini pool adjacent has been closed off every time we have visited (either for lessons, or just because they felt like it), so actual swimming doesn’t happen here. Sadly it is often over-sold so it can be uncomfort...

👍 Awesome gym however there is need for more equipment as some equipment such as leg press, leg extension machine, incline chest machine, etc can't effectively meet the demand during peak times.

👍👍 This is an excellent gym. The focus is on strength rather than stamina however it does have some useful aerobic equipment. The machines are of the highest order with a range of machines to focus on particular muscle groups. The free weight area is superb. The Atlas stones are intimidating! The c...
