Wow I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the General Manager of FFC Park Ridge, Janet, and I must say it was nothing short of appalling. As a veteran, I have always believed in supporting businesses that prioritize and respect those who have served our country. Unfortunately, Janet's behavior left me feeling anything but respected and valued. From the moment I walked through the doors, it was clear that FFC Park Ridge was not a place where veterans are welcomed with open arms. Janet's lack of understanding and empathy towards veterans was evident in every interaction I had with her. She appeared disinterested and dismissive, showing no regard for my past service or the sacrifices I made for our nation. Not only was Janet unfriendly, but she also displayed an astonishing level of pettiness. It seemed as though she went out of her way to make my experience as unpleasant as possible. Whether it was constantly changing the rules and requirements for membership or enforcing unnecessary and arbitrary policies, Janet seemed intent on exerting her power and making me feel unwelcome. also, when I approached her with my concerns and tried to have a civil conversation about the issues I was facing, she responded with condescension and a complete lack of professionalism. Instead of addressing my concerns with empathy and understanding, Janet dismissed them as insignificant and proceeded to give me a lecture on how her policies were non-negotiable. As a customer, I expect a certain level of respect and customer service, especially from the general manager of a facility. It is deeply disheartening to see someone in a leadership position, such as Janet, failing to meet these basic expectations. Her behavior not only tarnished my perception of FFC Park Ridge but also the fitness industry as a whole. I urge any veterans considering joining FFC Park Ridge to think twice. Janet's lack of veteran-friendly policies, combined with her pettiness and unprofessionalism, create an environment that is far from welcoming or supportive. There are plenty of other fitness centers out there that genuinely appreciate and value the contributions of veterans. In conclusion, FFC Park Ridge's General Manager Janet's behavior towards veterans and her petty attitude were both disappointing and unacceptable. I strongly advise against supporting a business that shows such disregard for those who have served our country. help me petition for the removal of janet from park ridge ffc

Wasted our time with an invite for a "Free Trial Guest Pass", but when we arrived, they tried charging us $30 each for day passes, despite another associate, initially telling us, contrary. Very disappointing and didn't feel appreciated, as a potential new member.

FFC has been a consistent part of our lives for the past 5 yrs. Prior to me moving to Chi, my husband signed me up so we could work out together when I was in town. When we first started going it was clean and a space we felt promoted positive gym culture & truly lived by their core values. Over the years things have shifted: high turnover, HVAC issues including leaks, member rate increases almost yearly, health & safety concerns-the biggest being a dirty facility. We (my husband, his daughter & myself) take pride in our environment and contribute to maintaining the gym: rerack weights (not just what we use), organize attachments, clean machines, barbells, dumbbells before & after use, and report broken equipment & safety concerns to mgmt. We’ve advocated for this facility and referred numerous members over the years, and spent money at the cafe & spa. Having both owned businesses and me being in service & hospitality for the last 25 years we understand how important it is to receive and provide feedback. In the last 6-8 months the cleanliness decline has escalated and we've provided feedback to staff, managers and corporate. Our ongoing concern of this issue was met with an inappropriate response from GM Janet Long making light of our feedback and followed up with little to no impactful and consistent changes to address it. Recently a no bag policy was implemented, which I heard about because my husband was approached in the locker room by a Manager, a seemingly odd place to have a professional conversation. He stopped carrying his usual gym bag and we chatted with other members who also carry bags that hadn’t heard about the new policy. Trainers worked out with clients who had bags during sessions and numerous members had bags with them during their workouts. Aside from the locker room encounter it was business as usual and no visibility of a new policy, so after a week he decided to begin carrying his bag again. The same Manager from the locker room approached my husband again, this time mid workout to enforce the new no bag policy. Shortly after, my husband received an email from GM, Janet stating our memberships were canceled for refusal to follow club posted policies. From a guest service standpoint, this is highly alarming. If a new policy is to be introduced it should be done with clear written communication to ALL members as well as provide a grace period. This policy is not in our contract, there was no written communication to members and no signage throughout the facility (with the exception of 1 small sign in the lobby, which was easily missed). It is however listed in the Code of Conduct along with reracking weights, no congregating and cell phone usage. It would be interesting to see violations for other guidelines result in canceled memberships. FFC failed to contact me directly to communicate my membership had been canceled. After a few requests, 2 weeks later, GM Janet finally contacted me directly. We established additional money was owed to us, which should have been realized and executed at the time our membership was canceled, not upon request. During that conversation, Janet stated that my membership had NOT been canceled and I was welcome back at any time. My husband received communication the day after my membership “wasn’t” canceled, from the Senior Director of Fitness offering to reinstate myself and his daughter, and the following day Janet herself offered to have us reinstated. We obviously declined. The lack of accountability and disrespect is both disappointing and insulting. It is unfortunate that FFC views member feedback as a nuisance rather than an opportunity to improve health and safety conditions for their members. With consistent rate increases, funds should be reinvested into training programs to provide staff and leadership the tools to follow through on their purpose to enhance the lives of guests and live by their core values. There are many viable options in the wellness space and recommend finding a facility where the cost aligns with the value.

love this gym. It is always clean. I would give this place 5 star instead of 3 but because of their hours!!!!! They've been raising their membership fee and still did NOT fix their hours on Monday - Friday back to 24/5. When I signed up for this gym their hours were 24/5 but not they closed at 10pm. You cannot expect to raised the membership price and not changed the hours.

Clean facility for sure. Very well kept. Some staff are nice. Others are rude. In the beginning years the club was affordable and accessible. The cost has risen nearly 50% with nothing new. They all too many young TikTok teen trends in the club now. I actually left FFC all together. Wasn't worth it anymore.

This place closes the turf down every single night at 6pm to host a group fitness class where only two people show up. 3 bench presses, 5 squat racks. (3 racks when the turf is being hosted for the two student class where they do body weight exercises) They don’t let you use the squat racks while they host their two person class. Not sure why they need to close a whole section of a gym off for that? The rest of the members pay good money to use the turf, especially when we get home from work and come at 6pm. The management will deny this claim online, but everybody knows this to be true. Equipment is constantly broken and will stay broken for weeks at a time. Management will attempt to deny this claim, but again all the members know it to be true There’s no enforcement of rules and regulations here. I.e the countless teens running around, throwing things, leaving equipment out, not being clean, smoking in the locker rooms, the list goes on. Management will attempt to counter this claim by saying they have to abide by a code of conduct, but this conduct is not enforced by staff. House keeping staff is extremely rude. One guy walks around with a chip on his shoulder and mean mugs people. Why would anyone want to workout in an environment where this behavior from staff is condoned? I pay over $100 a month to not be in an xsport type of environment. Nobody working here cares though. Whatever, the outdoor pool is nice though

As much as I love the South Loop Location, this one is amazing as well. Super clean, great atmosphere, clean pools, huge parking. Thank you so much to the General Manager for making this club outstanding. Also, the child care center here is very professional, you won’t have to worry about your little ones when you are working out.

I'm so disappointed. Used to be so clean and now looks like no one takes care of it. The stairs going up full of dirt. So is the floor. Dirty towels all over steam room floor and at the pool. I was here last night and looks like it wasn't cleaned since. Asked staff to come clean it up and no one even bothered. Brought my friend as guest who told me he pays half the price for cleaner L.A. fitness membership. For the amount of money they take from us and the limited hours of operation, FFC REALLY needs to step up their game.

What was once a great gym has now turned into a playground. There are children around 8-10 years old wrestling and throwing equipment around the turf area almost daily with no supervision whatsoever. I witnessed one child throw a football across the weight room while members were working out, which is incredibly dangerous and careless. In addition to that mess, this gym has also become the hang out for the local high schoolers. Weights do not get re-racked and kids hog the machines for 30 minutes at a time while texting and chatting with their friends. Management does not enforce any rules. I really used to love this gym, but for the expensive membership you pay for, it is simply not worth it anymore.

Hygiene in the gym is worse than ever. Especially Jacuzzi, You better start cleaning it before somebody call you inspection. Other than that I love the place. Especially I love because people DO NOT wear the mask! Smart people! Lets go Brandon! 💪🏼

FFC Park Ridge has never been this bad... There is 4-5 teens hogging up every machine in the place... I dont really care about your age, I care about 90 % of machines beeing occupied while everyone is on their phones and while they are swapping workout machines. Why is the managment not getting involved? There are no more gym rules. Everyone does what they please weather it bothers rest of the gym members or not! The green area is infested with young crowd slamming weights, yelling at each other. No one from the managment says a word! No one approaches these young kids and ask them to stop or to behave better. At this point I don't even know why the management even exists at Park Ridge location??!!! Waste of an office and salary! I have addressed this issue several time with the gym staff, never seen manager come out to address these problems. Some of these same gym member walk into sauna after work out, with full gym outfit. Slacks, gym shoes, tshirts... Its disgusting! It has to start from the top. The managment should be ashamed to let this go on for so long. The GM doesn't step foot out her office dont even know how she still has a job! Oh yeah, I'll prob get a typical generic response, "we are sorry you are experiencing these problems, we are looking into it bla bla bla". Dont apologize! Fix this zoo!

I love FFC I really do. However the only downside to it is all the little kids. Steam room and pool should strictly be 21+. There’s all these little high school boys hogging the amenities and hogging machines and just acting obnoxious and loud and inappropriate. The way that they act is off putting to members who are looking for time to relax in the hot tub, pool, steam room, etc. Us adults are using the extra amenities as a relaxation and recovery process, and these teenagers are using it for social time and just acting childish. I think that if you’re under 21 then you shouldn’t be allowed access to these areas at all. Or at least, make teen hours 4-6pm.

I loved this gym but more recently its overly packed. They conduct all the group activities at the same time and there’s literally not one room or piece of equipment open. It worked with my schedule before and wasn’t so bad during the summer but this is absolutely ridiculous. I cant even swim in the pool because every time I am there they have kids swim lessons or whatever they do and regular paying members cant even utilize that area. overly crowded you will end up just doing damn cardio.

I was saddened to learn the Tiffany Hoover, a member of the salon at the FFC in Park Ridge was no longer employed there. She was an extremely helpful and friendly employee who assisted me on several occasions with issues I was having. I truly enjoyed coming into see her in the salon on a regular basis. I must admit that I will attempt to find where she has transferred to or where she is working now take it my money to that location.

used to be a member here and it was really nice but their membership policies now are absolutely ridiculous. Exorbitant fees for short term memberships and they don’t do daily passes anymore unless you’re with a member. I guess they’re too good for the general public now.

I usually enjoy this gym and hadn’t been in quite a while. I went for the first time early Thursday and noticed that about 70% of the people there were NOT wearing a mask including some staff. I am so disappointed because I have been doing my best to not catch COVID (again). I don’t even eat out and looked forward to at least going to the gym but after seeing this, I don’t think I’ll be back. They only had 2 signs in the entrance and nowhere else. I get that some people pull their mask down for whatever reason but there were maskless people on treadmills as if we are not in the height of a pandemic. Upon leaving, I asked the front desk if it was mandatory to wear a mask and he said yes, but they can’t enforce it. So I guess it’s a free for all.

I love group fitness, but I was hoping I could enjoy hot tub and steam room without other members changing their workout clothes at the pool area and even getting into steam room wearing workout cloths!!! Janet L. Hello, Thank you for reaching out. Glad to hear you are enjoying the club. The issue you bring up is a tough one for us to monitor as we don't always have staff in the pool area. If you do see this please let a FFC team member know so we can address it with the member. We do have signage however this is a hard one to get all members to abide by.

I toured here and had a workout. The facilities are first rate and the people were very friendly. The child care center is also a huge plus for me. Unfortunately they are extremely pricey. Big initiation fee followed by a monthly rate that is higher than any other gym I’ve ever been a member at. What makes that even more frustrating is that a large amount of their fitness classes require additional payment. They also have a set of CrossFit group workouts that require an additional $99 a month…basically the cost of just paying for a CrossFit gym membership. Bottom line: if price is no object for you, FFC will have everything you need. If you are at all limited by price I’d look elsewhere.

Terrible! I was so insulted when they actually have poor business practices in place. I was told I am freaking out, called financially irresponsible and told they will not deal with me by the Staff members because of an "unpaid" bill during the pandemic. I was a member for 3 years and then the pandemic happened. I was not aware when the FFC restarted charging my card again and then I was not able to return to the gym because I had a sick individual in my house so I called and cancelled my membership. I thought that I had settled all accounts but apparently not because they put me in collections. I could have just paid right then and there but no one cares to reach out to a customer via my cell phone/text. I deserved an apology for the way I was treated not to be insulted further, I guess you don't care about return customers and the rudeness of the Staff is a reflection on management. Take your business elsewhere, this gym cannot be trusted!

I joined earlier this year and I couldn’t be more pleased. The main reason I joined was for the Pilates training and it does not disappoint. I’ve been working with Shanna T. And it’s been an awesome experience. She’s positive, a good motivator, and most importantly - she laughs at my jokes. J/K… workout routines can be a drag sometimes. But not with Shanna it’s a very fun and positive experience.

Tried calling for information regarding a new membership I was considering signing up for, nobody was available to help me and was told I would receive a call whenever it's convenient for the sales team and I would have to be available. I have edited my review and put poor communication because it was poor communication ON MY PART and not the club! I received conflicting stories from my son and some members. The manager Hannah reached out to me and explained everything! She was very helpful, kind and understanding. I’m so thankful we were able to clear things up. Looking forward to getting back into the gym soon.

I come here religiously to see Tiffany at the Spa, I've been her client for 2 years now and love her. She is amazing at giving facials, I call them her "magical fingers". So sweet, friendly and makes you feel so comfortable as soon as you see her, very professional. She is very knowledgeable about the skin and suggests what kind of products I should use for my skin type. I tell all my friends to come see her and I also brought my mom and she loved it! We are definitely going to be life long clients.

  • 1/5 Deanna D. 2 years ago on Google
used to frequently visit the spa for a signature facial with Tiffany until recently, scheduled a facial in July 2021 and had it booked for weeks and the evening prior to the morning appointment I got a phone call (after two confirmation calls) saying my appointment needed to be rescheduled because Tiffany is in Italy. Frustrating that I scheduled the appointment weeks in in advance, received 2 confirmation calls the week of, and the evening prior I was told she was in Italy. Anyways in November I called to reschedule for Jan 1. Again, received two confirmation phone calls the week of my appointment and unbelievably the same thing happened. The evening before my appointment I received a call saying the salon was closed the next day because it was January 1st. Why would a client even be able to book an appointment on a day the whole salon is closed. Why would two different employees give me a confirmation call and why do I receive a phone call the evening before an appointment saying the salon is close. Does no one who works there know their own hours. So I called back and talked to the manager on duty that evening pretty upset and she assured me I would receive a phone call from Tiffany in the salon that following Monday to schedule a complimentary facial because of the inconvenience. It’s now February 7th, and I have yet to receive a call from anyone at FFC to schedule the complimentary facial. Honestly, it’s pretty upsetting that the customer service on this was handled very poorly.

Machines have been falling apart, Staff have made unprofessional comments to me and my son multiple times. Inside of the club was not hygenic whatsoever. Sales assistants were extremely rude. Too many kids on the floor. One of the worst experiences I have had at a gym, especially for the price point.

FFC Park Ridge is an amazing gym, and gym experience. From the moment you walk in, to the moment you walk out, everyone is kind, friendly and genuine. The trainers are all amazing, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The Cafe has incredible food, the spa has everything you need to get you feeling right. One of the best, cleanest, well kept gyms around! Everyone pitches in and takes care of the gym with love and passion, and you can tell from the second you walk in.
