I cancelled my membership with The Works today. It’s a good club with competent fitness staff and lots of extra options on offer. It has even upgraded recently to good effect, but I just wasn’t using it, no matter how I incentivized myself. It is unlikely I will ever join again, even if I receive a “no enrollment fee” offer, like I did for this (the second) time I joined. One too many interactions with staff members left me feeling that I was regarded as an income source rather than a thinking person.

Very tight space. Not that much gym equipment. For the price you pay monthly you would expect there to be at least more equipment and more space. Also they shut down the women’s locker room upstairs for “renovation” after many months, all it looked like they did was paint the walls... Currently on the lookout for a larger more equipped gym

pools gave me and my spouse rashes. my doctor said it was chlorine and management said that was not why. receptionist was rude and laughed at me and management didn't care what I had to say or what needed to be fixed. i liked it when it was the YMCA. $80 for a membership to this place is too much. I will pay the extra dollar for lifetime down the street.

Maddie Bosworth has been my husband and Is trainer for the last 8-10 weeks and we have absolutely loved it! One of the main things we needed help with was form and she is constantly making sure our form is correct for every exercise we do to avoid any injuries. She is definitely a trainer we have felt comfortable with and are able to ask any question that we have regarding the workouts and she answers with confidence and knows what she is talking about! The workouts have been focused on muscle growth and fat burning (due to our request)- she keeps it interesting and we use a mixture of free weights, machines and body weight! Maddie truly listens to what your goals are and makes sure your workout helps you achieve that . I love the way she sets up our workouts to hit on a little bit of every muscle group. I have noticed more muscle growth since the first say we started and definitely better form in my workouts. I truly recommend Maddie to anyone looking to get a fun and challenging workout!

I've been a member for 7 years now and couldn't imagine not having The Works in my life. I go there to see all my gym friends which is great taking classes with them. I don't want to exercise alone, misery loves company and we all suffer and support each other during them. It is wonderful being in a positive upbeat environment where everyone is trying to improve themselves. Everyone there is encouraging, supportive and helpful for meeting personal goals if you have them. I would recommend this facility for everyone. I was never a gym person and I still don't really feel like I am one. I really don't use any workout machines, I go to the fantastic classes offered. The instructors are amazing, the variety of classes is remarkable, you won't be disappointed

SCAM!!! This company is extremely unethical and has committed fraud and misrepresentation. I cancelled my membership and they are charging me 3 months of dues. When I signed up they rushed me through the contract and were very misleading by telling me I could cancel at anytime. They raised the my dues in February and I called to cancel. Now in October I received a collections letter for over $500. I called the business to find a resolution and spoke with both Tanya and Doug. They were both extremely rude and disrespectful. They told me I was an idiot for not reading the Fine Print in the contract. I repeatedly explained the situation and asked if they would be willing to help me. Again they told me I should of read the contract. I stated that I would be posting on the BBB and other sites if they were not willing to help me. Doug laughed at me and told me "GOOD LUCK"

Great facilities, equipment is well maintained and modern, clean showers, pools are great, lots of resources, staff is very helpful. It's pricey but understandable given what you get. Wish it were open an hour later each day (closes at 10pm weekdays & 8pm on weekends).

Love the warm water pool, wish it was bigger. It is very popular and frequently full, especially when there is an instructor lead class.

First I was told I could cancel anytime and not be charged...then tried to cancel before year was up and was told I would be charged for the entire year regardless....Then I was told more than once that I wouldn't be charged once my year membership was up when I called to make sure my membership would end after the year was up. Then got charged after the year was up, called AGAIN and was told that "there were no notes in the system saying I wanted to cancel my membership.". Then when I explained I asked more than once and was told the same info, was then told I was told the wrong info and nothing could be done and I would be charged the extra month and the membership would be cancelled. Now I get an email saying you are trying to charge me yet again yet my card won't work and I will get charged a fee. Thank God I got rid of that credit card or I feel like this place would chargee for the rest of my life! Poor customer service and really bad business ethics if this is how you do business.

I've been with the works for about 2 years now but have been a member in the past also. Everyone is smiling and happy to greet you when you first walk in the door. Everyone is extremely courteous of others. I love the aerobic classes there are so many and such a variety. The pools are awesome and the aquatic classes are fantastic also. At one time I thought $59.00 was high for a membership but for what you get it is worth every penny that I pay ! I'm sad to hear some of these reviews, as I haven't seen any of the issues since I've been there.

Everything you'd need for a work out and more. Well maintained stocked weight room, clean locker room with a dry sauna and steam room, and a juice bar on site. My niece loves their pre-school program, too.

This place is a ripoff. The monthly rate is over 60$ a month to join. All of the equipment is extremely outdated and never cleaned. When I went to cancel my membership they charged me 40$ to cancel. None of these fees were explained when I signed on. This place is a scam join planet fitness and save your money because this place is not worth it.

While somewhat upscale, they have excellent, clean, and well maintained equipment, and a good selection as well. They also offer adult swimming lessons. Both of my kids learned to swim here.

Love the facility, super clean, helpful friendly staff. Only a bit pricey, though they do offer a ton of classes, multiple rooms for different machines/style of workouts. Favorite place is their outdoor pool/splash pad for the kiddos. They also offer ChildCare!

So the pandemic has made this gym quiet. Which is fine with me. Only one person is allowed to play basketball at once. Which is amusing because they still have classes with multiple people in the same space.

I "cancelled" my account back in June/July of 2018. I get a piece of mail in December saying my membership price was increasing in February because I was turning 26. So I go in during January 2019 to figure out what was happening. I thought it got all figured out. Nope, I got charged $61 in February and then $79 just yesterday, March 7th. Since the time I "cancelled" my account, they've stolen $350 from me. Absolutely terrible accountability and business practices.

Less than half an hour after leaving my wallet in the locker room, I got a call at home telling me that it had been found and returned. (Thanks, Alan!) In addition, David at the front desk offered to have it transported over to the branch that is closest to my home - What a good guy.

Was charged $101 for my $58 membership. I had suspended my account trying to cut costs around the holidays and came back in January. Apparently they charged me extra for coming back "early". As far as I knew mine started again in January 2019 and no one ever told me anything about being charged extra or that I was early! Terrible customer service when I called to asked about the charge. Didn't seem to care about my concerns at all.

From the cleanliness to the staff to the state of the art equipment to the indoor pool to the indoor lap pool, the sauna and the steam room. This place has everything you could want and more. Affiliated with Douglas hospital. They have indoor racquetball courts, outdoor tennis courts and pickleball courts. I see a lot of people complain about the money. Not for nothing. You're paying $120 for two people and you have every benefit in the world. People need to stop being so frugal and realize that you have to spend money on your health.

The Works has the best staff and amenities of any gym I have ever seen. They cater to people of all ages, weights, abilities, and backgrounds. I have felt extremely welcome there. You won't be judged for being a beginner, but unlike at PF, there are many strength machines and weights to set PRs with. I personally love doing laps and treading water in their pristine pools. There aren't always lifeguards on duty so if you have kids, check before going. Everything is quite clean (showers get dirty at night but they are always cleaned) and the janitorial staff is just as friendly as the instructors and front desk attendants. Price: it varies based on your age and what you are signing up for. The cheapest is under $40 and opting for the babysitting, personal training, small groups, kids, and guests are additional fees. Most group classes are included in the base price. You have to do the facility tour and apply before joining and it is an automatic subscription payment deal when you join. I've personally never had issues with it, but I have heard leaving can be tricky.

I joined Works with high expectations, attracted by its reputable facilities and promises of excellent member services. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory, primarily due to the significant lack of support and apparent indifference once you’re a committed member. Initially, the membership service team was very persuasive and attentive, seemingly dedicated to providing the best customer experience. However, once I was locked into a yearly contract, the attentiveness dramatically decreased, and my concerns were met with ignorance and inaction. Several issues have persisted throughout my membership, notably the non-functional Wi-Fi, which has been a problem for over two weeks. Despite multiple complaints to both the front desk and the member service manager, there has been no effort to communicate a plan or timeline for resolution. This lack of communication and transparency is frustrating and unacceptable for a gym that prides itself on being a top-tier establishment. In conclusion, while Works may have the potential to be a great gym, the current management and member service approach are highly disappointing. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call for the management to start taking its members’ concerns seriously and to uphold the standards they advertise. Until then, I would advise potential members to consider these issues seriously before committing to a membership.

Expansive facility with updated equipment, classes, rocket ball, pickleball, basketball and outdoor pools. Staff is very supportive and helpful. Facility continues to see updates such as carpeting , paint, parking lot, repairs. For the services that I use and I'm a regular weekly gym person, it is a little on the expensive side and it's a bit too crowded for me at times.
