The
quintessential
example
of
a
fitness
club
that
invests
none
of
its
revenue
back
into
the
business.
The
model
seems
to
be
"take
your
money
and
run."
The
sign
on
the
front
says
24
hours.
That
is
a
flat
out
lie.
They're
operating
12
hours
on
the
weekends
18
hours
on
the
first
four
weekdays,
and
16
hours
on
Friday.
In
an
attempt
to
save
money,
there
is
no
towel
service
here.
For
many
years
I've
been
a
member,
preceding
even
the
pandemic,
some
equipment
hasn't
been
repaired
the
entire
time.
Most
of
the
elliptical
machines
wobble
as
your
stride
and
have
bumps
and
catches
because
the
internal
mechanism
is
damaged
or
loose.
Whether
or
not
the
attached
monitors
work
is
hit
or
miss.
Nearly
all
have
some
component
that's
cracked,
broken,
or
missing.
Recently
several
treadmills
were
replaced
with
new
models.
Perhaps
a
quarter
of
the
total.
There
is
a
rock
wall
that
has
never
once
been
used
the
entire
time.
In
fact,
it
was
abandoned
in
favor
of
placing
more
fitness
equipment.
Nearly
ever
machine
is
in
a
state
of
disrepair.
Labels
are
missing,
seats
do
not
lock
into
place,
rubber
grips
are
shredded
away.
Weight
machines
and
grips
have
metal
so
worn
away
they
are
in
desperate
need
of
replacement.
The
locker
rooms
are
utterly
littered
with
trash.
The
floors
are
constantly
wet.
Lockers
are
all
rusting
out.
A
good
many
have
lock-loops
that
are
torn
away
or
mangled
so
badly
they
can't
be
used.
Seating
is
minuscule
and
there
is
no
personal
space
to
change.
It
constantly
smells.
At
the
sinks
the
paper
towel
dispensers
nearly
never
work
and
the
soap
dispenser
barely
function.
The
showers
are
completely
gross.
It
seems
normal
for
people
to
shave
their
pubic
hair
and
leave
it
clogging
the
drains,
or
leave
behind
their
empty
toiletry
containers,
and
sometimes
even
their
clothes.
The
shower
knobs
have
no
marking
for
hot
and
cold
and
it
takes
several
minutes
to
figure
out
the
water
temperature.
Water
pressure
is
abysmal
for
what
I
can
only
assume
is
yet
another
attempt
to
skimp
on
costs.
The
soap
dispensers
are
all
barely
working
and
filled
with
some
kind
of
foaming
soap
that
leaves
a
person
feeling
unclean.
Finally,
the
culture
of
the
club
is
trash.
There
have
been
fist
fights,
teenagers
wrestling
in
the
locker
rooms,
people
taking
pictures
and
walking
around
with
video
calls
in
the
locker
rooms,
nobody
wipes
down
the
equipment
after
their
use
-
you'll
have
to
wipe
off
the
puddles
on
all
of
the
equipment.
Rarely
does
anybody
even
wash
their
hands
after
using
the
bathroom
before
heading
out
to
the
gym
to
use
equipment.
Expect
to
wait
to
use
any
equipment
while
surf
their
phone
for
10
minutes
between
sets
and
then
bang
out
10
reps
at
10
lbs
in
20
seconds
before
the
next
rest.
tl;dr
-
a
smelly,
unkempt,
disgusting
place
that
doesn't
invest
in
a
good
experience,
claiming
to
be
a
24
hour
gym
that
clearly
isn't.
