I could already see from the photos how small and dated the place was, but decided to join to see if maybe it was better than what the photos portrayed. It’s not. It’s actually worse. The equipment is more than just dated, is rusty, noisy (stationary bikes), with part missing (of the bikes present only 2 had computers). The functional area is too small and ill equipped, not even a sandbag in sight. And last but not least, the lockers. I’m not even sure I understand how they work. Am I supposed to pay to lock my stuff? That’s absolutely laughable. You pay £24 a month, for a sad excuse of a gym and can’t even use the lockers without paying.

Made the mistake of visiting this gym for the first time during rush hour and wasn’t what I’d expect it to be. First of all the entry and exit system didn’t make any sense to me but staff was helpful to assist me. Secondly the gym is so small that I didn’t get to use anything I actually wanted to use as it was so packed. I am mixed race and felt like an outcast as everyone kept staring at me which made me feel very uncomfortable so will not be visiting this gym again. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone who doesn’t like a crowded and muggy space to train. Sorry but there needs to be more diversity in this place.

A scarcity of equipment. One squat rack and only 3 benches for example. The place can get pretty packed as well, even on weekends. If you can only go at peak times, you won't get on any equipment, so this isn't the gym for you. The equipment they do have is outdated and a bit run down. For what you pay (£22) you can do much better. Pure Gym for example, is cheaper and you get a lot more: Modern equipment with a plethora of options. In summary, the gym is in bad need of more investment. Staff seem friendly enough though, and the place is kept quite clean, which is why I didn't give one star.

I used to love this gym but at weekends and evenings its now full of groups of junior members. They mess around and sit on all the machines in groups not even using them. Struggle to get on machines because of this. Have now cancelled my membership because of this.

Been going to this gym from the beginning, it’s small however the price ain’t bad and it’s near home. It gets incredibly busy at times however I don’t let that bother me once I have my earphones and my skipping rope I’m good to go 💃🏽💃🏽 so get up and get moving 💪🏽

I love this gym - it's large, well equipped and friendly, with lots of light, and with a good mix of ages. I really like it because there are people in their 50s who use it too - so it's not just full of shiny, buff young people. It's brilliant value for money too, at £22 a month, and you're not tied into a long contract as its a 30-day rolling contract. It is a charitable enterprise run in partnership with local councils, so you are being charged a fair price. I used to use a fancy, expensive gym, but I like this one a thousand times more. I would not go anywhere else.

Love this gym! Staff are super friendly, and the whole place (gym floor and showers/changing rooms) are always immaculate. Superb range of equipment, and considering its a relatively small space there always seems to be plenty of room to train. Great atmosphere in the gym too. Would highly recommend.

Been going here for a few years- it's well equipped and the staff are usually helpful. Can get a bit busy at certain times but if you are OK with that it's not an issue. There's a mixed bag of users so people at a variety of stages can feel comfortable. There are occasional A- holes, but they tend to turn up at predictably busy times. Most of the members are fine and just mind their own business.

Day pass £15, monthly pass £22. What a ripoff if you’re just wanting to pop in when in the area

Have read so many bad reviews about this place, however is very close to my house so I have decided to give it a try. No bad as a day to day gym, staff is friendly and the equipment not so bad. What I would personally change is the lockers, at least for the members, everywhere else it’s free of charge to use them, and trust me it’s not nice to be charged extra money after spending money for a membership.

It’s a conveniently placed gym but As a female, I don’t feel too safe in their changing rooms. Men clean these facilities and the main doors are just left open! They usually clean at the end of the day but its usually busy at that time because they are only open till 10!!? At 6am its quiet it’d be nice if they did it then and respected women’s privacy at busier times. The shower curtains fall off spontaneously which is scary.. would really appreciate a review of hours and facilities.

Better gym are thieves. Cancelled my membership over a year ago and they didn't infact cancel or notify me that they hadn't cancelled. When I told them and showed the proof of this they said that it was my fault for not cancelling my direct debit and only willing to refund me £144 of £640. Disgusting really given I never missed a payment. Bad morals, bad karma. At a time when peoples money is stretched more than ever they are willing to keep £500 of someone's money.

Been going better gym since it opened. Good range of free weights but does get too packed. When they first opened they said in time they would open the upstairs area but alas they have not yet.

Signed up to the Sidcup branch in January. Straight away me and my friend were welcomed by the friendly staff. We’ve been going every day since and got to know the staff more. Lovely environment and very helpful! Equipment and facilities are always clean.
