Ensure to have an entire day free & if possible get in early to stroll around all the regions of the zoo. Ample parking space and charges are additional to the ticket. It's a good place for children to enjoy their time as well as learn about animals from various geographical areas. Stroller accessible, also has rentals available. Clean washrooms in America's and has food joints as well as picnic spots every few meters. They have a wide variety of animals in the Eurasia & Canadian domain, but others just had a few of them. Huge space, could have been used more effectively.

The zoo is really nice. I like the atmosphere and the husbandry methods. It is amazing and you should spend half of a day, if you wanna visit all the animals. African part is the best part of the zoo. Hippos are really lovely and giraffes are amazing. 😍😍😍😍

Get a 20% discount on admission when you give them your presto card seems like a better option than buying online/in advance if you don’t mind a little bit of a wait. Had a fun 5 hours and 20000 steps in. There were a few animals off display because it was too hot out. Would recommend bringing lunch, snacks, and a refillable water bottle. There are a bunch of benches to eat at and water refill stations. Their signage and map was easy to navigate. They also had fun facts and other signs which were educational and nice if you take the time to read.

Had a fabulous time! So hard to choose a favourite area. It was so well laid out and really a great time. We had fantastic weather, which of course helped, but there's a lot of indoor exhibits, so if it rained we would have been fine too. Oh and we rented a stroller, which was a great idea! And the gift shop was not overpriced and had really nice items.

The zoo itself is nice and clean. (reason for which I have rated 2 stars, and not 1) It was disappointing to see so many animals not on display in some sections of the zoo. The zoo services are awful. The worst are the zoo mobile and membership services. The zoo mobile is supposed to come every 15 minutes according to signs. If you ask any zoo mobile staff in how much time is the next zoo mobile coming, they'll tell you in 10-15 minutes or 15-20 minutes, and you end up waiting 45 minutes or 1 hours before seeing the next zoo mobile. It's not a one off issue. It has been the case each time I visited the zoo and waited for the zoo mobile. Once I even left after waiting more than 1 hour at the main station without seeing a single zoo mobile coming by. Many other people left as well. The membership services is even worst, especially the HEAD OF MEMBERSHIP of the zoo. That person is a very rude lady who talks loudly to humiliate you in front of all other staff and guests/clients/members. She tells you that the value of a membership is 2 entries at the zoo. You don't need to be a genius to understand that the value of a yearly membership is from day 1 to day 365, and not 2 entries at the zoo. It is normal to expect an acceptable level of services for what is included in the membership package. And when you complain, they don't care. They just take your money and do not care whether or not they are able to provide an acceptable level of service. They do nothing to make up for it. Management is not even on the ground to see how things are going on, and how to make things better for guests/clients/members. Moreover, when comparing last year's membership which included zoo mobile access, for this year you will have to pay about 60% more if you want a membership which includes the zoo mobile access. 60% increase is a huge amount. For those who never went to the zoo, it's worth paying a day pass ticket and spending the whole day visiting the zoo. As far as the zoo membership itself is concerned, it's a hard pass for me. I took my first zoo membership last year, and will not be renewing it. I will look for other zoos or safari experiences around.

Toronto Zoo was a great experience with dedicated zones spanning the macro climates of the world. We especially liked Australia and Africa displays. Indo China was also cool. If you're looking for warm areas in winter, we recommend Africa, Australia, and Indochina. Gorillas were a great section to visit. Highly recommended to visit on weekdays if you're on vacation.

I had an amazing experience at the Toronto Zoo! The diverse range of exhibits allowed me to explore ecosystems from around the world. The well-maintained enclosures create a comfortable environment for the animals, and the knowledgeable staff provided fascinating insights during feeding sessions. It's a fantastic place for families, nature enthusiasts, and anyone looking to appreciate the beauty of wildlife. The zoo's commitment to conservation and education adds an extra layer of significance to the visit. Overall, a must-visit attraction with something for everyone!

Always a great experience at the zoo! Lots of parking available and transit close by. Arrived early and there was a small line that moved quickly. Lots of different areas to see which helps spread out any crowds. Food on site is okay, nothing special. What you would expect for a venue of this type. As it was a sunny day there were lots of photo opps and a lot of animals were visible in the outside areas. Many areas to rest and or picnic. Gift shop is okay and worth the stop. All areas are quite clean and all of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. I visit at least once a year and it is always a nice time.

Amazing place to enjoy a great day or weekend with your family, with your kids or with your friends. The place is really big, My advise is to get early and be prepared to walk a lot. This is the only zoo where I saw you can lend wheelchairs and trolleys to carry your belongings around or even your kids.. The weather was pretty cloudy most of the day but we made the best of it. The park is well kept and the staff are friendly. Many things still closed because of Covid, but anyway the place is amazing! I've visited three times and still been a trip that can't be missed on summer. - A lot of picnics areas. - A lot of thing from kids. - Is allowed bring your own food and drink. - Is allowed take your Water cam or phone in the water zoo! All in all, TORONTO ZOO is really nice place to visit.

The experience was okay. If there were more animals to see, it would have been better. Spent around 5 hours and walked the entire complex and just saw less than 15 animals. But the experience was good. Oh, also, the staff was very knowledgeable. They explain things very well. If there's a way to find which animals are there ahead of time, it'll be better, I guess.

Huge I mean huge zoo. Plan a day trip. Large variety of animals and species. They are famous for being the only zoo in the world that have white African lions in captivity . They are stunning. The zoo is well kept the animal have large spaces to roam very family oriented Tex they all kind of activities going on and they have a large parking and dedicated bus stops by every 30 min to bring you to the nearest subway station worth visiting There will be a lot of walking So It’s Very important that you wear comfortable cloths and shoes and you bring snacks and water..

The best Zoo I’ve ever been to. It took us almost 6 hours to see it all but we really took our time trying to see/read everything. Everything is very clean and you can bring your own food if you choose to. The animals are beautiful and seem to be very well taken care of. A wonderful place to visit for families.

It is always a great experience to take my kids to visit the zoo, whether in summer, fall or even winter. Very entertaining, educational and informative for everyone! The new addition of the arctic wolf, young and playful cheetahs and a small waterfall show you how the zoo is still working hard to attract visitors while we all miss the elephants and giant pandas.

Visited the Toronto Zoo this spring 2023 and had a wonderful time. The zoo is home to a wide variety of animals and offers a great opportunity to learn about different species. Unfortunately, the weather was bad and it was raining, which made it difficult to enjoy the park to its fullest. I wasn’t able to finish my trip and see all the animals.

No lines and lots to see. I was skeptical about going in winter but there was still so much to see. We enjoyed every minute of our afternoon at the zoo. Seems like it would be bumped in the summer but if you want a super peaceful experience winter is a great time to go.

Such a huge place to explore and very well maintained! A great place to enjoy with your kids. Kids absolutely love the monkeys, gorillas, tiger, giraffe, penguins. Their were wolves and polar bear as well. We walked for 3 hours straight and didn't finish looking into the whole area. People are maintaining social distancing as best as possible.

Recently took the family. We booked using the City Pass which made the check in super easy. There was no line and parking was quite affordable at $14. The Zoo has many signs up to help with social distancing especially within enclosed areas and tons of hand sanitizer stations which was great. Of course some people don’t follow that but it was great to see the Zoo putting the measures in place. Great first visit for my son. Lots of places to sit and take breaks and places to buy food or drinks. Directional signs are everywhere and the map is very clear to understand. Any areas were there were no animals in enclosures the zoo put up signs to let you know if they are in different habitats. Great visit!

Super fun! They have such a variety of animals with big cages! Great family's, friends, field trips and more! They have food in a lot of places, pretty pricey but still good. They teach you a lot here and keep you happy! Great experience and just so fun! Great for all ages! Loved the polar bear💙

We visited on a Sunday with a toddler and an infant. Got tickets at the Zoo itself and it was a fast and easy process. Small discount applied if you have CAA, Presto or some other memberships on the price of one adult ticket. Parking is $14 flat that you can pay for with your tickets. Zoo mobile is an extra $8/person (children under 2 ride free). Pretty big place but not a lot of animals. We spent 4/5hrs there but only saw a handful of animals. Birds were missing due to precautions about Avian bird flu which is a shame. My kids would have loved the the peacocks, flamingos and owls. We did see one Toucan in the Indo-Malay pavilion. Overall, lacklustre experience. Pros - zoo employees are knowledgeable and enthusiastic Cons - not a lot of animals for the price (minimum $150 for a family of 4)

The Toronto Zoo is a awesome family experience. This was our first time at the Toronto Zoo and we loved it. Besides the great exhibition... seeing my son so happy and enjoying, it makes it just wonderful and priceless. Everything is great and we'll maintained. We learned a lot as well. Lots of walking so come prepared with a good stroller if needed, comfy shoes and lots of liquids/refreshments. They do have lots of vending points with great options. Unfortunately I didn't catch her name, but I went for an adult refreshment, and the lady assisting there was super polite, friendly and helpful.... besides funny, she made an awesome joke of my beer selection. Kudos to her and for having so wonderful staff. Fully recommended and is a must family experience 😉😁😎🤟🏻🇨🇦🍁

I give three stars with a heavy heart. The animals are amazing and the conditions they live in are great. But, the zoo is not so visitors friendly and that's why: 1. The zoo space is huge. We walked 90% of the 5 hours we spent in the zoo. We walked about 10 kilometers which is insane. Especially when you are not prepared for this much walking. I believe the zoo should make it very very clear before you buy the tickets + the zoo should provide shuttles between the areas. Only in the end, I realized there was an option to purchase a ticket for a bus tour but that's extra 9 dollars for each person and I do not know if this is for each area separately or all of them. 2. Many animals were not on the display because of seasonal conditions or diseases (bird flu) or renovations etc. 3. On weekdays most stores are closed and between the areas sometimes you need a break and something to drink/eat there wasn't always something available. 4. Since the cages are very large, sometimes the animals stay in a place that is very difficult to see them. Most cages, though, have more than a single angle to watch the animals, probably to overcome this issue. In conclusion, we didn't enjoy visiting this zoo, though, we do appreciate very very much the work done with the animals to keep them safe, healthy, and comfortable. We do advise visitors to prepare in advance for this experience regarding long walking, bring a hat, and water, and ask about options of transport and animals that are not on show. Also, order tickets online to save the lines of purchasing tickets.

The zoo is a fun place for families and friends. Wear comfortable walking shoes, stay hydrated and have fun. There is lot of food and drinks on sale throughout the 700 acres of land. There is adequate parking. Lots of picnic areas, washrooms and vending machines throughout. It's definitely worth it to buy your tickets and parking online to avoid the lines. When it's too hot, the animals tend to stay in their enclosure or just lie around. Still always a great place to spend time with the family.

Not many animals here. The Canadian zone was fully empty except few eagles. The zoo is very spacious and seems very large but there are hardly any animals. The pavilions were ok, they had good number of species. None of the shops and restaurant were open probably because it was fall. If you are visiting in fall & winter make sure to pack something to eat.

Fantastic Family Adventure I recently visited the Toronto Zoo, and it was an incredible experience for the whole family! The variety of animals and well-maintained exhibits left us in awe. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the overall enjoyment. The zoo's commitment to conservation and education is truly commendable. We can't wait to return and explore more of this wonderful place. Highly recommended!

I always love going to this zoo and my son had fun. He learned as much as a 6-yr-old can, he loved using the map and signs to find his way, and guessing what animals tracks he was seeing. I know those old painted tracks on the path aren't needed anymore, but if you ever get a chance to touch them up, kids love them. The staff are so friendly and helpful in every area we visited. The gift shop was a great place to get some souvenirs and we can't wait until our next visit!

Great Zoo, wide variety of animals and sites to visit. Lots to do and to see. Highly recommended if you're visiting Toronto just make sure you planned a full day and show up early. Just wish they had some sort of hotel or simply rooms on site so you can take your time visit and that would of been a wonderful addition. Aside from that, the place is clean and the animals are well kept and maintained. Loved it and definitely will go back👌

A large zoo with 7 different areas based on the continents, I think. Each area sports a different environment with different animals with ample space for them to roam around and some even coexist. Some of the animals though are off display due to weather and health concerns so definitely a membership or seasonal pass is worth it. Might be a bit difficult for the elderly or the not physically fit so I think it is better to purchase tickets for the zoo mobile for a hassle free experience tour guides there are great too. Finished touring the whole zoo in half a day with breaks although we missed some sightings and some animals are off display so you definitely need to go there multiple times to view all

A Toronto experience that was a first for me! I am still amazed at how easy the walk was. Every station just naturally flowed into the next, with no confusion of where we were or where we were going. There were many different stations, but I remember we did the safari, the different species of animals, birds, rhinos, monkeys, giraffes, gorillas, lions, tigers, snakes, fish and every species of animal you can think of! There's also a very lush forest, I was very impressed with, with a bridge almost suspended through it, which was very cool. I am still amazed at the expanse of land that the zoo sits on. It is a massive area! Next year I will definitely purchase the season's pass and go more than once. We went with a toddler in a stroller, very easy to move around. However next time will invite some older kids with us, I think they will enjoy and appreciate the animals more. Toddlers might be bored after the first 20 mins, but surprisingly mine enjoyed the entire walk! Definitely a spot to invest in. Will be our new yearly tradition!

Went to the zoo for the first time in 10 years. Was nice to get outside and the zoo is taking safety measures very seriously. We went at 10am on a weekday and it was very quiet. Lots of animals out. Staff super friendly. Yes there is a lot of walking. We skipped the Canadian exhibits but still walker 8km in our 3 hour visit. The distance walked is just proof that the animals are given large areas to live. I'd rather walk a long distance than have the animals in small living areas. People were respecting physical distancing and masks. And was a very relaxing visit seeing lots of animals. This was definitely my most relaxing time at any zoo and I strongly suggest you take advantage of the small number of visitors to have a crowd free and safe.

There are plenty of different species of animals to check out in many types of habitats! All the animals are very healthy, happy and well cared for. There's some decent souvenirs you can find in the shop and spots to grab food. There is LOTS of walking between each animal so make sure to prepare! Even though people cant come visit at this moment during covid lockdown, they offer virtual programs with plenty of educational resources. This place is definitely worth a visit!

I love the zoo! I've been a member 2010-14, 2020 to forever 😍. It definitely pays to be a member especially if you have young kids, stroller friendly, unlimited zoo mobile ride (when operating). I would suggest mornings, many of the animals are gathered for feeding and sometimes you can watch zoo keepers amongst the animals in the exhibits (and quite amazing to see how close they can get to these animals).

I had a decent time while visiting the Toronto zoo. SOOO many animal exhibits, restaurants and snack locations, gift shops, washrooms etc were all closed throughout the park. Although I understand the reasoning behind this (pandemic and low capacity inside the park), it sure made for a creepy feel at times when nobody else was around for awhile! Also made finding lunch a bit of a challenge depending on where you were in the park. Would have to plan out timing for restaurants open. The park was exceptionally clean and well kept though, including washrooms.

Great zoo with many different animals and spread out in a way that you get to observe all different types of ecosystems. Walk with lots of water or an electrolyte drink on hot summer days, especially if you have children.

Admission is just over $20 for adults and $14 for parking. The Zoomobile is currently out of service, so over 19,000 steps later I was able to cover most areas. I was able to see most animals, however one area was closed and several bird pavilions were closed due to the Avian Flu. All in all, it was ok as most animals were not very active and a few like the lions, brown bears were fast asleep..

We visited on a Saturday, there were a lot of people at the zoo. Lots of kids yelling their heads off. We didn't mind too much, and contrary to a lot of other reviews, we saw a fair share of animals, though we did spend 7hrs at the zoo and we visited every enclosure on the map. The bird enclosures were reopened, only a couple of enclosures were closed. Though a lot of enclosures only had one single animal in it, so you'll have to look around for it and expect a crowd of people at the spot the one animal is located at. Overall, we had a pleasant trip at the zoo, it was a lot of walking (good exercise), and it was very hot. There's picnic tables located everywhere so you can take a break, pack a lot of water and sandwiches with you! The animals in general did look a bit depressed... Definitely looked in a lot worse shape than my last visit 6-7 years ago. We saw an orangutan who looked at people approaching the enclosure and then edge away immediately and hide underneath a blanket, acted exactly like a homeless person on the street... A lot of the animals were sleeping throughout the whole day, or they were hiding in spots that were the furthest away from the places where people can view them from. It didn't make us feel good to see all the animals being so depressed, and a lot of zoo visitors were being very rude to the enclosure or being very noisy (such as yelling at the animals, tapping on their windows, shaking the wooden frames to try to wake them up etc). In a lot of the enclosures we saw people pointing at the animals and talk loudly and the animals would look startled and run away and try to hide in a corner. Somewhat heartbreaking to witness over and over throughout our day trip. Because of this, I'm hesitant to visit again.

Overall the place is Okay. There is a lot to walk , but zoo-mobile, (zoo bus/ train), would be a preferred choice to ride unless, you really want walk all that 10km + area. Though there are many kind, I feel the number of animals are not much as I expected. I would say Prepare and come for a picnic+zoo experience instead of a high expectation over the zoo alone. The animals and nature are well maintained.

Make sure you go in summers and not in winters. 25-50% of outdoor stuff is closed if it is a windy cold day. Good for families with kids but also for adults, tickets are almost 25-30$ each person approx depending upon weather and age.

It's fun for little kids and a great educational space to learn about various animals around the world. Maybe it's the time of year we went, not too many animals are out on display. There's some nice boardwalks and pathways throughout that make for a scenic walk. Definitely a good way get steps in! It was raining for half of the day so the zoo wasn't too crowded which is what I prefer. Will be back for special events.

Honestly, we went to this zoo to look at animals that we normally don’t see in normal life, to appreciate them and admire them; but it felt more like a trip to see empty cages with a dose of 15,000 steps! Definitely don’t recommend, I had way more fun and interaction with the animals in the Lion African Safari. Also, I’ve been to some zoo in 3rd world countries that charged next to nothing and we’re built in 1800s and had a better experience

I recently visited the Toronto Zoo on a sunny day with my friends and family, and it was a delightful experience overall. The zoo boasts an impressive variety of animal species, offering an educational and entertaining day out. However, it's worth noting that due to avian influenza, some bird exhibits were not accessible during our visit. Nevertheless, the zoo's vast collection of other animals, from majestic mammals to fascinating reptiles, made up for the temporary setback. The well-maintained enclosures and knowledgeable staff contributed to a memorable day, leaving us with a desire to return for another adventure in the future.

Recommend getting tickets in advance because I bet it gets crowded on most days. Went in the evening time and on a weekday and it was a very peaceful adventure. Kids from field trips were leaving at the time so we didn’t bump into big groups at each visit with the animals. We grabbed food from Grilled & Co and it was your average fast food restaurant to eat at. But the zoo had different options of restaurants to choose from. A few of the washroom’s are new, clean, and convenient to find. The map is a very helpful tool to use and easy to navigate. You most definitely would need to spend a whole day at the zoo to look at all the countries. Would most definitely visit again to adventure some more!

The Toronto zoo is a really nice place to spend time in nature. We went there with family and had a great time. We actually started with a nice cheese pizza at the first stop of the hop on- hop off 😉. The exhibits of animals were really nice. One sad thing was to see animals in confinement do not augur well for me 😢. But the saving grace was that animals were taken well care of . The Hop On- Hop Off train rides to each of the sections were really good. They explained the family chain of animals and the history of the zoo which was fabulous. Overall a very well spent day.

I visited the Toronto Zoo with my wife over the weekend, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! We decided to buy our tickets online and went there before the zoo opened, I highly recommend doing so because there was no wait time at all – we just walked right in. The Toronto Zoo is a fantastic place to spend a day. The variety of animals and the attention to their natural habitats is impressive. I particularly enjoyed the capybara exhibit – those adorable creatures stole my heart! The overall atmosphere was peaceful, and it felt like we were surrounded by nature. The zoo’s dedication to conservation and education is evident, and I appreciate their efforts to make the world a better place for animals. I can’t wait to visit the Toronto Zoo again in the future. It’s a perfect place for a day of fun and learning for all ages. If you haven’t been yet, make sure to check it out – you won’t be disappointed!

If you as me are animal lovers, then this is the place to visit. Animals seem well treated, and the staff try to maintain an atmosphere as comfortable as possible for them. The pandemic has been a challenge in many ways, and zoos have been affected considerably. Coming with family and children is definitely the best way to support them and admire the animal greatness that we have around us and our responsibility to protect it.

Family Day trip was a success. We have always gone in the summer and even once as a COVID drive thru, but never in the winter. Lots on warm indoor options and surprisingly quite a few outdoor animals out and about, including the lions, tigers, hyenas, and the obvious polar bears etc. A lot less people was a bonus but certain sections were closed, such as the Canadian zone, hence a lost star. Kids had a blast and so did we. Still a great yearly family destination, and we are glad we tried a winter session.

Came during October and the colours were perfect. During the week was pretty quiet and peaceful. Some restaurants were closed but others open. Very friendly staff! Also very friendly animals. If you come around feeding time (seems to be around 2-3pm)they are mostly active. Great time!

The Zoo never disappoints and today was no exception. Only reason for the 4 star rating is due to many of the attractions not being open due to Covid. So more of a warning to goers to check what's open and what's not to make sure you bring what you need for the day i.e. strollers if you don't want to rent one as the zoomobile train thingy is closed. We got extremely lucky with the weather and very small crowds. The timed entry is working out so well and should continue to be used in the future regardless of Covid as it makes for such a much better experience! Five of us ranging in ages from 50 to 7 each found something to love.

I went during covid-19 (2020 Sep 13). Their public health measures were good. All indoor facilities has a staff outside to ensure people are wearing masks. And they always open the exhibit door for you as well. There are arrows guiding people to ensure distancing. Although it's a bit depressing to see animals locked in enclosures, I'm happy to support the zoo, as they play a part in conservation, and educating the youth.

Had a wonderful time at the zoo. Family went for the day and got to see most of the park. Part of it was sectioned off because of an event but still well worth the trip. The staggered entry times makes the lines very sort and everyone was trying their best to maintain physical distance. Staff were polite and friendly. Animals seemed well taken care of. Park was very clean.

With a four year older who loves animals, we have been to this place so many times. We also organized her birthday party with almost 10 families there. It is a great place to plan play dates or just a quick walk through after weekend lunch time. We appreciate how well organized the Zoo is and all the care put in for the animals. Go explore and have fun!

Dublin zoo is one of the best I've seen in the world. Every creature you want to see is there. On a sunny day and with the new normal you can actually enjoy even more. Less people = more time to see the animal. It's a one way system. You can miss a thing, obviously if the lions or penguins are not out, don't blame the zoo staff, instead look around there are plenty of monkeys staring at a tortoise while eating ice creams. Just wondering who's watching who! But anyway I love Dublin zoo, so do my kids. Gotta stop writing. Check for yourself.

I have always enjoyed going to the Zoo, with the Covid-19 pandemic the Zoo requires you to book a time slot and only allows a certain number of people in. With the restrictions you are not allowed in to any of the animals housing enclosures, but that didn't effect our enjoyment. The staff are very friendly and very helpful and they gave the Zoo set out as a one way system allowing visitors to navigate the Zoo in an orderly fashion.

One of the organized zoo I ever visit where you can spend whole day or more with kids and family or other circles, you can dry picnic, hiking, adventure, water splashes, nice trails, don't miss Zoomobile ( make sure not sold out for non member) relax and enjoy safari. But you have to make sure earlier about animals showing due to different reasons so you won't regret. Public Transport accessible. Huge parking lot. Better to have stroller and wagon for your items carrying with you. You will get food stalls but during weekends huge lineup.

The Toronto Zoo is a great place for families, you get in a good hike as well. The animals are well kept and with the weather being so good they were out to say hi to us the whole afternoon. Even with the pandemic restrictions there was lots to see. If you think you might go more than once a year, definitely consider the annual or 2 year passes!

It's been a very long time since I last visited this facility and it was great to see the improvement over time. A hot muggy day with most beautiful skies to back up the adventure that awaited. It's a long hike thru the various areas designated for viewing and with pavement markers and social distancing guidelines it was an easy trek. So much to see along with outdoor activities we're those indoor viewing areas which offered cooling points for the day as well. Obviously with the heat, some animals were seeking cover or napping and one can't blame them. Kids camps were great to see and amenities such as washrooms and food areas were easy to find. $28 for adult was fair pricing. Great place to visit.

We had an amazing time at the Toronto zoo. We saw two live peacocks at the peacock cafe which was a nice surprise. Animals seemed like they were treated well, and appeared comfortable and happy. The timed tickets were also great for social distancing. We paid $20 for the Tundra air lift ride and that was shorter than we expected so we wouldn’t recommend that but everything else was great.

Generous 3 stars. Many exhibits were closed or cordoned off. That's fine and understandable, but the Zoo doesn't let customers know this until after buying tickets. They could be more up-front by showing the status of the different pavilions on their website so customers can make a more informed choice. Until then, pls see 👇

It was def a nice time. The weather was gorgeous so that helped too. My only complaint was the amount of animals. It feels like there aren’t as many anymore, and a lot of the viewing areas has signs up saying no animals inside type thing. So not to sure what’s going on. But we were there around 11am and a lot of the animals weren’t viewable. So maybe they were all still sleeping. Might be recommended to go a little later on in the day.

Lots to see, large zoo. The ability to see the animals in their enclosures from multiple angles is really well thought out. I appreciate the ability to bring food from outside and not being forced to buy food inside. It did appear accessible as I saw ramps in stair areas and saw someone in a wheelchair enjoying the zoo. Really great activity and way to spend a day. My partner says this one is better than the Vancouver Zoo (I've never been). They're conservation efforts are widely promoted and a really cool feature is being able to walk into the medical center.

The gorillas looked like depressed prisoners and most of the animals are lethargic. The only animals that dont look destitute are some of the smaller animals. Some of the aquariums aren't even the appropriate size for the animals that inhabit them. The orangutans are absolutely lovely but an enclosure isn't appropriate for an animal of their intelligence. It's like SeaWorld but with great apes. Sorry if you enjoy the zoo but that's my honest opinion.

Disappointed with Canadian domain part! We walked in a long trail to see almost nothing in this section. No moose to see, only one grizzly bear in a far cage where you can not see it! We live in the second widest country in the world with a rich environment and wildlife and Toronto zoo can not even represent these things to people ! I hope the Toronto zoo be a place that Canadians can watch their real wildlife and nature better than any other zoos in the world. Compare to other big zoos in the United States and some European countries, I’m really disappointed with Toronto zoo.

Such a disappointment. First of all to get there from the downtown on the Uber it cost 60-100$. From the zoo you need to take a bus or again Uber but you need to wait a lot. In case you are with the car, parking not free. For the zoo. We didn’t like the experience at all. And even more, I’m felt sorry about the animals there, especially the one with electric cages. A lot of animals are off the display. Even canadien area. (Probably miss season) In general zoo with a massive territory. I don’t liked the pavilions because they smells bad, a lot of small animals together for instance monkeys and sloth.

We had a great time! We visited in May so the weather was beautiful which really helps since there is a lot of walking with the exhibits being spread out. I'd imagine it would be really hard to enjoy walking in the hot summer heat. Our youngest really wanted to see the red pandas. That was a bit disappointing since they were sleeping so high up in the trees. We ended up purchasing a red panda stuffed animal in the gift shop. Ha! Not a substitute for the real deal, but he was happy. I really enjoyed seeing the greenhouse filled with flowers. The raccoon in the trash can was so funny!

I have always loved the zoo with it's wide variety of animals and expanding improvements to animal habitats. I was also here recently for the drive-through tour, which wasn't fantastic, but we did see a lot of animals (for about 5 seconds apiece). It it's a good way to support feeding the critters though!

Most favorite place to go with a toddler. We visited end of May. We loved all the sections, African section is my favorite. Easy to spend half day or more here. Easy walking paths mostly, so toddlers can walk, we still rented the zoo stroller , our little one loved it and wouldn’t want to get off. Animals are so cute, and Hippos are huge. Try to go early as it opens to avoid crowds. They even have splash pads for summers.

We had a great visit! The park was accommodating to people with disabilities and children. The layout was excellent to walk with good shoes and a child in a stroller. We saw most exhibits, zipping around in a condensed timeframes, since we traveled 2.5 hours from home. There were also plenty of shaded areas to rest and pavilions to have lunch or a snack. The animals were very visible in almost all enclosures. The new boardwalk through the wooded area is well crafted and the wooded canopy is a sight of it's own. Last time I had visited the snow leopard was coming soon and what a beautiful big cat to see. Make sure to see the camel's and the newest baby camel born this spring 2023... was only 2 weeks old today - so cute and worth going to visit this summer to see this baby grow. The gorillas were very entertaining and exciting to watch! Hippos were playful! My daughter is about 1 and a half and she was very engaged with learning animals in real life and sight seeing. This time of year there weren't many mosquitoes as well - loved it!

A good place for family fun. Spent close to 9 hours to cover it all 😅 and this was without any kids but with our 65+ parents. The zoomobile tram was very helpful in covering more ground and to escape long walks in the summer heat. Also there were some unique animals that our parents haven't seen in their life, so the visit was worth it.

The zoo is vast and boasts a wonderful environment. Both the admission fee and the food prices inside are very reasonable. It's an ideal place for families, friends, and couples to take a leisurely stroll. To explore the entire zoo on foot, expect to spend at least four hours. While they do offer a mini-train ride, it covers just a short distance and ultimately brings you back to the starting point. Some areas are available for rental, which might make it feel a bit commercialized, but aside from that, everything else is commendable. It's a perfect spot for a weekend outing or springtime excursion.

It would definitely be a one-time visit for me. I wasn't expecting to walk a marathon especially on a hot summer day. I wish they had complimentary trains to take you around the entire park instead of making you walk on foot.

This is the best zoo I have ever been to. We are members. They care about the animals, and the place is huge and well kept. This is the #1 place that we have missed the most with the pandemic closures. So we continue to check their youtube and instagram posts. I really hope they get enough support through all this. I highly recommend them. My 3 year old has had her moments of tears missing the zoo and wanting to go again.

I think I went at a wrong time during COVID. Went last week and there wasn’t much to see. Just some animals like other zoos. Expected a little cz it’s one of the best zoos in the world. So many places closed. Very high price for food and water. Couldn’t believe a 500ml water bottle costed me $3.49. We can get 25 pack water bottles outside for half the price. When I came out, it felt it wasn’t worth 1and half hour drive from my place and I should’ve spent money somewhere else. Ripley’s aquarium was amazing compared to this. Not giving less stars for now. I’ll visit next year and see if it gets exciting. Advice: pack food and water or buy it from outside before going inside.

a day in nice weather to explore because it is a large area to cover. If you are traveling with kids or older folks, there is a train ride for people who do not like to walk. The gorillas and monkeys were a highlight for me, very expressive and intelligent creatures. The pandas are featured for a reason, it's a unique sight. And the big cats are impressive. The areas mimic the animals natural environments, not small cages. They seem well taken care of and in good health. Worth the trip.

Okay, this normally would get 5 stars, but It's been months since our Pre-Covid visit. We went to the Zoo for the millionth time. Most kids in the Toronto area have been to the Metro Toronto Zoo either for a leisure visit or a school-educational visit. Most of my previous visits have been in the warmer months, but this visit was at the tail-end of the winter and just before they shut it down due to COVID 19 restrictions. The winter zoo experience differs from the warmer months in two ways. The animals that are typically outside, are now sequestered or indoors. A few animals that are from the more Northern climates can be found intermittently throughout the grounds. Secondly, there are much fewer people at the zoo. All of the indoor activities were still open, so there were plenty of opportunities to see many animals, in their as close to natural as possible environments. We were able to see animals from all over the world in many different environments. There was plenty of opportunity for animal education from the staff at the zoo. Hungry? Well, don't worry as the zoo has many options for eating. You will find typical fast food options like burgers, pizzas, fries, tenders etc. There are food trucks and other snacks like Poutine and Beaver tails as well as dessert options like Ice Cream. For the grown-ups, there are certain sit-down restaurants where you can get a beer, wine and cocktails. The zoo is a fun and educational stop, great for the whole family, in every season. Kep your eye out for Zoo offers on WagJag and other coupon sites and we got a really good price on discounted tickets for our visit.

Attended for Terra Lumina and it was such a great evening out. It is a little pricey when paying for a family (6 in my case) but we were happy to help support our local zoo. The event was well organized and the visits were very respectful of covid procedures. Everyone wore a mask while outside which wasn't required but was appreciated. Every one kept there distance. Food was available and great. (Tiny toms donuts, tim Hortons, pull porked etc., beaver trails, a stall selling beer etc. ). There was a market place, we didn't make it. The zoo did a great job with this event!! It's heartbreaking to know that they will be shut down as of Monday November 23rd due to Covid!

Very few staff seen directing guests or managing the number of people in areas. In the over 3 hours I spent there, I only saw one person cleaning high-touch surfaces. There was almost no actual policing of mask wearing on the premises, not even in buildings it was mandatory. To exit, you have to touch the revolving door when there is a door that could be left open right beside it. I felt that my safety was not ensured, and they were not doing everything they could to protect the public health. The animals were very active today and that was nice.

A nice place but can be better. After having visited the Zoo of Moscow, i didn't feel amazed by the one of Toronto. I was expecting a bit more mainly when paying more. There's a lot of potential; adding the number of animals and species would be great. However, well maintained and you can definitely enjoy your long walk there. Worth visiting.

All of the animals are great If you are traveling with kids there are amazing volunteers, knowledgeable, passionate, and willing to answer 1000 questions of your kids. People were respecting physical distancing and masks. And was a very relaxing visit seeing lots of animals.

I love a good zoo and this was certainly a memorable experience. I'll keep adding pictures here. Very large place. I had set aside an entire day and that certainly was not enough. They seemed very clean. The animals I came across seemed happy and everyone there seemed to be having a good time. To help people getting about there is also a transport facility available.

I went to here a few times with my family and it's quite fun. A couple of years ago when I was younger, I attended a summer camp here and it was quite enjoying. You basically get exclusive access to the park and you get to see things you normally can't as a normal guest. It's also nice being at the zoo early in the morning as there's practically no one there and it's quite if you're in your early teens and younger.

Wonderful and clean Zoo. But found that the amount of walking involved was stressful, washrooms seemed far between as well as food without VERY long line ups. Enjoyed the knowledgeable signs and tours available. Happy to see so many endangered species being taken care of so well.

Always a great time with the kids. My young ones really enjoy the large splash pad and kids area. You definitely need to bring a stroller or wagon because there is a lot of walking between animals. It’s almost impossible to see everything in one day so it’s best to plan before hand the animals you want to see There is also a carousel which my kids love!

We went last year to visit the tiny Pandas and it was soooo cute to watch them. All of the animals are great but it is especially nice to see the fairly newborns growing up. It is fairly expensive, but a once a year visit is worth the cost. Animals have lots of space to roam.

(Translated by Google) I didn't like it. This is somewhere the 7th zoo in Canada, which had to visit and is currently the worst. The distances between the zones are huge, the animals are relatively small .. half of the cages at the time of our visit why not work. Parking is paid, and this at such a ticket price! In general, not bad, but compared to even the zoo grandby, which is 500 km in Quebec - much worse. Imho, even worse than the Kiev Zoo: / (Original)

We saw just a few animals and some squirrels that we can see everywhere. Decorations in my neighborhood is much better than their decorations. Great for kids. Went over the summer and for Halloween. Lots of animals to see. The splash park is so much fun during the summer. Would be so worth getting a season pass if it weren't for covid. The zoo is huge and there is so much to see and do that it would be good to split it up with a few days. If you try to do everything in a day, you will be exhausted! Be prepared for a lot of walking. Wear comfy shoes. Bring you kids strollers but if you forget then they also offer some for rent. During covid, we tried the drive-thru and we barely saw any animals. Mostly just saw trees. Would not recommend it. Terre Lumina is the most amazing light show I have ever seen and highly recommend it! It is so beautiful and mesmerizing. Overall this is a great place to visit if you have younger kids!

Fab! Dublin zoo is a fantastic day out, they have put measures in place to keep visitors safe during the pandemic which makes the zoo flow just as well as it always did, the enclosures are all really well kept and presented with lots of space for the animals to roam and hide if they dont want to be disturbed. Very highly recommend it.

We are big fans of Dublin zoo. We have been going as a couple and family for years. This was the worst visit ever. The new one way system does not cater for toddlers you have to go fully around the zoo. There was no enforcement of masks and the sanitizers were mainly empty. There was very little staff around and considering the family passes are limited and day prices are the same this was a very poor visit and a total waste of money. We did not feel safe at all here. Won't be going back anytime soon.

Really well set up to deal with current covid restrictions. A well thought out one-way route brings you around the whole zoo, hand washing facilities well placed throughout. Bear in mind anything indoors is now shut (including things like the reptile house and dinosaur exhibits) but they've set up most of the food outlets to do takeaway so coffees, ice creams, sandwiches etc all available. A great day out with the kids.

Been here twice in a gap of 1-2 year. The maintenance has continued to be excellent, the staffs seem very dutiful. Quite a few variety of animals/birds to see but whatever is in are absolutely flamboyant. Need patience and luck to check them all out in a single visit. May be because this Zoo is housed within the Phoenix Park, it gives a feel of an Animal park/Forest walk rather than a traditional Zoo. Kids will thoroughly enjoy and is indeed a good spot for family outing. The food/snack kiosk are hygienic and also there are automatic vending machines setup intermittently inside. COVID-19 social distancing guidelines were in place and well followed with clear demarcation on the paths to traverse.

A warm welcome from staff, although weather was wintery, meaning some of the animals were not out and about. Even still, it was lovely to stroll around the grounds & take time to appreciate those who were available to observe; in particular the Asian Elephants - they were wonderful to watch & very active. Also the wolves, seals and hornbill - who took great pride displaying a deceased mouse, held in it's bill, which was fascinating to witness, as this unusual bird wanted to seemingly communicate with the small gathering of on-lookers. Also outside to see were lions, monkeys, zebras, amongst others. Plenty of sanitising stations, toilets and a coffee take-out shop. One of the pluses was the different historical features you may not have noticed when there have been crowds - an original Dublin Zoo gate, dating the opening year & other such rememberence nods. Welcome back Dublin Zoo and thank you for the conservation work you support & joy you bring to visitors.

February 2020 , my husband and I visited the Toronto Zoo. We had travelled over from New York State. It was the day before the news started showing Canadians wearing masks due to Covid 19. That visit was the happiest day of 2020. We visited the orangutans. There was a cluster of small children at the glass watching a female orangutan squeegee the glass. I crouched beside the children. The orangutan, named Puppe, paused and gazed at each child. Then she regarded me and made eye contact. Never have I experienced such powerful gentle one on one openness. The moment was brief yet, it stretched out for so long because I never had such an experience before. I don't want to anthropomorphise but, I lack a better way of saying that I felt compassion witnessing her dignity, her "humanity". She's not an animal separate from people... she is we. Equal. Her kind are defenseless from humanity's destructiveness. Yes, it is profoundly sad that orangutans are in zoos. But, the Toronto Zoo makes visitors care... deeply care about humanity's impact on wildlife. Information was prominently available about the effects of palm oil harvesting on orangutans' habitat. That's what makes the Toronto Zoo exceptional. They put intense effort in the care of their animals with education promptly accessible. In the case of Puppe, my family immediately researched palm oil and have cut it out of our food purchases. When this pandemic ends and borders are reopened we are buying year round passes.

A lot of young animals also which shows successful breeding and happy animals. The park is very large. Arrive early to see everything. The lectures the caregivers give are very informative and they can also answer any question from the crowd immediately. A true conservationist zoo. You can tell the caregivers & animals are very affectionate to each other.

The Toronto Zoo has been a family favourite for over a decade. Every time we go, we see something new, or an animal behaving in a new way, and we always learn something new as well. This world class Zoo has lots of walking space and they are always adding new features and exhibits. Kids Zoo and Splash Island are great for young ones. There is also a rope climbing course for almost all ages (currently closed) and the Tundra Air Ride, of you're looking for a little adrenaline in your visit! If you haven't been in a while, you should.

The Toronto Zoo has always been a fantastic spot to visit if you want to watch animals. My family and I had a fantastic time live. There were a lot of animals and the animals I came across seemed happy and everyone there seemed to be having a good time. A lot of walking so keep water bottle with you and There is also water bottle station's and stores there that you can buy many sorts of drinks . It features a diverse assortment of animals and enough space to keep you occupied for the entire day! The zoo is usually fun, but it's impossible to see everything in one day! They do offer many things to do just besides seeing animals which you can see on there website at "thing's to do". Overall, the money invested was well spent! Enjoy my review and like it if it helped you plan your trip better!

We had a great day at the Zoo. It wasn't too crowded, and volunteers were on hand to ensure that everyone was wearing their mask, especially around the animals that might catch Covid. It's a massive zoo. They have a water station where you may fill up your water bottle. All of the animals appeared to be in good spirits! Mila, the new tiger, is so gorgeous! If at all possible, come early in the morning when the animals are more active before it becomes too hot. Prepare to do a lot of walking and drink plenty of water and juices to stay hydrated. Will definitely ✔ come back again.

We planned our Zoo trip to be on a sunny August weekend, and sunny it was! The day was very hot and as a result many of the animals were either sleeping in the shade or in a non-public enclosure due to the heat. While I understand the zoo staff do not control the weather, and that the animals health needs to be a number one priority -- being unable to see a lot of the animals (otters, chameleons, etc) was underwhelming. That said, we still saw many animals. The zoo is very large and difficult to complete in one day coming from outside of Toronto. The air conditioned buildings were very welcoming in that summer heat, and the animals we did see looked very healthy and content in their enclosures. Walking around I don't, personally, get that heavy sense of "they shouldn't be caged" in this particular zoo as the animals seem very well cared for. The 3 month old tiger was very cute as well. Bathrooms were easy to find and access, COVID protocols were certainly in place and my kids enjoyed finding the many sanitizing stations that were spread out all over the zoo. A few of them were empty, so bring some sanitizer of your own as well. We did have some difficulty locating a place to refill our water bottles and as a result had to purchase some drinks from a vending machine. Prices in the machine started around $4, and you could use your debit or credit card. Overall, fairly satisfied with our trip out. We will have to make a point to come out during the cooler months so we may see more of the animals moving about their enclosures.

The washrooms were clean, the park in general was clean, the only dirty thing is the food area, I understand that there are a lot of people but it was very dirty. It was a nice day in the company of the family. She would return without a doubt.

Tried the Zoo Tour and it was okay. Unfortunately, I did not see as many animals as I hoped but it was a hot day. I would have liked to see more refreshments or items being sold ... there were not enough food trucks available. Would like to ensure the ride through was spaced out better.

The zoo area is way larger than what I expected. We were at the zoo for 4 hours and we only managed to visit the African and Canadian part!! The shuttles were closed and we had to visit all the zoo on foot (you can imagine 4 hours of walking). All the cafes, restaurant, and gift shop were closed due to covid and it was not a convenience!

Really great place to go, I went on Saturday October 2nd, I’m from London and had to drive but it was a good visit. The food was affordable and they had SO many animals I was so excited to see them with our son. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because when I went to go see the gorillas which are my favourite animals the volunteer there was pretty rude to my husband and I. I didn’t see that you had to wear a mask by the gorillas and she snapped at me about it without even explaining why we had to wear our masks outside. Im all for masks and I respect having to wear them however I’m not okay with being talked to rudely when I didn’t see a sign or an explanation when the exhibit is outside. I was so upset I couldn’t even enjoy seeing the gorillas and my spouse and I just left the zoo.

A great place for a family outing. They have staff and volunteers around to answer questions and offer info about the animals that you wouldn't know. Too bad the Zoo Mobile is done for the season. Make sure you are ready for lots of walking and wear comfortable shoes.

Took my kids on thanksgiving Monday. What a waste of money and time. Barely any awake animals. Nothing special. The most exciting event was one polar bear swimming in a little section of the water. Was exhausting for nothing. So many closures too. Never again!

If you’re looking for an outdoor place to take your kids to run and have fun, this is the place to be. It’s good for kids of all ages (we have 3 boys, 13, 3 and 1). With CoVid, this is the best place for kids since it’s outdoors and you don’t have to worry about them playing in indoor places with other people. It’s wide enough to maintain social distancing. A map will be given in the entrance. Looking at the map, there’s a lot of attractions. An advice I would give for parents is to bring strollers for their kids since it’s a lot of walking. From one attraction to the other, it will take 5-15 minutes walk. Upon entering, there’s a merry-go-round carousel and our kids loved it. We bought the 4 rides for $10 and it’s all worth it. With CoVid, some areas were closed but it’s a very wide place so there’s still a lot to explore. Also, they don’t have the elephant anymore so we weren’t able to see that. Overall, I’d say it’s one of the best places to spend your entire day if you wanted to check all the attractions.

Due to covid, several of the indoor exhibits were closed. Parts of the zoo is also going through renovations. Otherwise, good place to walk around & see the animals. Gift shop closes right at 4:30pm.

It was awesome . We wanted to go to Ripley aquarium at first I'm glad we went to Toronto zoo . Way more stuff .very beautiful animals and some birds even were free. The only downside was big line up to get food so I recommend if you going take your food

It is one of the must visit place in Scarborough. The entry ticket isn't that expensive and it worth the money. The area is huge and we took almost 7 hrs to explore the whole zoo. We went there on November first week. It was cold. So we weren't able to see some animals. Eventhough I was so happy that I could see and capture what the authority have done for the animals.

We had a phenomenal experience at the Toronto Zoo today! All of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially David K. who gave us so much cool information about giraffes and gorillas. I hadn't been to the zoo in years and I will definitely be returning soon! It was so much bigger than I remember. Very stroller friendly, many excellent COVID measures in place. We got tired before we ran out of exhibits to see! Thank you to the zoo team - and David, especially!

Nice place to go have a walk and see some animals. Can be busy so going during the week can help. Recommend the membership and parking pass as they are the best bang for the buck.

Very highly detailed information on the animals and a wide variety of different animals from various countries. Excellent collection of animals which aren't available to see in other parts of the world, like Polar Bear, Arctic Fox, Komodo Dragon and others. Great customer service as well. Toronto zoo is the most unique zoo I have ever visited around the world.

My grandparents purchased a family pass and were very passionate about bringing my siblings and I throughout the years and seasons. The Toronto Zoo will always have a special significance having spent so much time seeing animals and their families grow while we toured the grounds on foot and (our favourite) the Zoo-mobile. Thank you to all the staff who work make this facility great while allowing me to make so many amazing memories here. 🦒💚

I am not a huge fan of zoos for ethical reasons. However, it’s obviously a lot of fun for kids. Toronto Zoo is a big one; we spent here 4 hours and couldn't cover all the animals, even though we moved at a fast pace. For this reason, it also will be wise to take a stroller/wagon for your little ones. You could also rent it from the zoo itself (from 8$). The Zoo has a lot of cafes, but out of season, only a few of them are open, and there were huge lineups. If you bring your food with you - there is plenty of picnic areas.

  • 5/5 Benjamin S. 3 years ago on Google
I am so glad that the zoo is open again. Our kids love it and we have been twice now. They are opening up different pavilions and letting guests see different animals while still doing their best to maintain public health measures. The rest is up to the guests, and my visits so far have been great!

I always love the zoo. The one way walking path is great at the moment and it's SO NICE that there are fewer people so you can take your time and see everything without feeling too close or overcrowded.

Beautiful place to visit with family, if you like picnics you can bring your own food. There are some animals free like peacock. The only thing that didn't like me is that I walk a lot to see some animals and when I was finally there they were sleeping in a hidden place so I can't see them well. I understand that they need to sleep but it was a little sad for me. As an advise wear sneakers and some comfortable clothes because you are going to walk a lot is a big place.

Toronto zoo is very well designed. They have divided it among regions like Africa, America, Australia and so many other. They have 2-3 types of tigers which I liked. They have polar bears and wolves which I was expecting. Overall they have a nice collection. Lot of food trucks and other restaurants.

Had a great time!! Zoomobiles are not operating at the moment, so a lot of good walk. But throughout the day it was snowing, and we loved every bit of it. The view was amazing. Polar bears were out for quite a good time. Our 4.5 yr old had super super fun <3

First off, I'd like to suggest that you prepay and get your pass online if you're going during peak season as the line up on weekends can be an hour. It isn't cheap but you will easily spend about 4 hours there. Its alot of ground to cover and its also great exercise for the family but come prepared. Washrooms are conveniently located through (although not necessarily very clean). The animals can be a bit of hit or miss, assuming many like to hide in the shade or some have big areas to wonder.

  • 5/5 Sas N. 6 years ago on Google
Kids love it. Went to see Panda. Bring your own water bottles. Lots of walks. If you have any small children, you better to bring a wagon. This way you don't need carry everything. If you don't go early, you cannot see all the animals due to heat/humidity. Overall i will go again.

Toronto Zoo is really great for the kids and adults. Though I find it crowded but it is to be expected as everyone wants to be outside when the weather is very nice. A lot of animals to see, from sea creatures, to land creatures and sky creatures. Very informative information about them and their habitats. Overall my family really enjoyed our visit. Hoping to be able to come back again in the future.

Half the exhibits were closed. Don't even waste your time going to the Canadian section.. there's only swans and raccoons. No moose. No nothing so you end up walking in the far back for nothing.

Average experience, overall good activity and learning experience and fun. Missing several animals like dolphins, penguins, and several birds relocated due to flu risk. I didn't think places like this would charge $14 for parking, this is really unfair specifically in a gigantic 700+ acres area and when there's no particular services.

  • 4/5 Angela H. 1 year ago on Google
Haven't been in years. Animals were great as usual but the zoo could use a facelift. Old faded signage, doors that need to be opened manually. It doesn't look any different than it did when I last visited 10 years ago. Grounds are lovely and great upkeep on that front.

Love the zoo, great place to explore and see all the beautiful animals they have, my favourites are the giraffes. There’s lots to do, my children also loved the zoo mobile that takes you from one zone to another, the zip line, the Gorilla Climb Ropes Course, and the Carousel. All these are not included in the general admission price, but I highly recommend them. However, even a tour around the zoo is lots of fun and will have children smiling😊

Toronto Zoo is a lovely natural place which keeps the animals with enough environment to roam around. They have the zoo into zones 1. Canadian Domain 2. African 3. Indo-Malaya 4. Eurasia wilds 5. Americas 6. Tundra Trek 7. Australasia 8. Discovery area You need to go early when zoo opens and stay till closing also cover all fast to cover most of them in one day. Or alternative you can buy yearly membership which would be like 2X of daily pass rate.

Certainly a must visit. I was reluctant to go in the beginning. Being from a different country, I love the fact that the animals around the world are grouped just perfectly for your experience. I would recommend taking the Zoo mobile as it saves some energy for you to cover up places within in categories. Get down at each hop-off station and walk around that area to explore the wildlife. My personal favourites are grizzly bear, polar bear, Lion and tigers. Gorgeous pelican will treat you with their fantastic look.

It was fun, but so many things are shut down and closed, yet no one seems to be working on fixing them. Place was kind of run down. Also annoying that they charge extra for the zoomobile and the carousel and the zip line and for parking.

We had a great time visiting the Scenic Safari at the Toronto Zoo today! :) Although we didn't see all the animals the Safari had to offer, it was nice to get out! Especially during COVID Quarantine & see a side of the Zoo we normally are not permitted to go! And my senior mother didn't have to walk...also it was nice they provide washrooms that they clean each time someone uses them!.. AWESOME!! 😃Thank you!♡

Went to the zoo on the 2nd day after reopening post covid. Must say the arrangements were pretty good. Limited tickets sold for each time slot, masks made mandatory for indoor visits, hand sanitizer at every gate- seemed like the authorities tried to make it as safe as possible for the visitors. Rest is for up to us to follow. Some of the usual attractions were not open but still a lot of ground to cover and kids would live it!

  • 5/5 Joy K. 3 years ago on Google
Went during covid timed entrance. No wait to be let in. Had to book time entrance through their website, even though we have the membership. Weekend slots fill up quickly, but lots of times for weekdays. All the animals were out and we got to see many animals. Zoomobile is not running but the carousel was open. Gift shop open but I heard pavilions are now closed. Paths were divided to have directional foot traffic walking on the left.

Went and it was pouring rain… (started raining when I got there). Thought it would’ve ruined the day but all the indoor exhibits were open and very worth while. Eventually stopped raining and was able to enjoy the rest of the zoo outdoors. Loved seeing all the new animals (babies). Definitely would visit again. Love that the whole day can be enjoyed by the entire family. Animals didn’t seem unhappy which made going a lot better.

What a lovely place to spend a day! My kids always enjoy it. It certainly allows them to burn off some energy, plus it's educational. Win-win! Most of the time, we pack lunch, snacks, and water to save some $ (they have water refill stations). Just don't forget the sunscreen!

Had a great day with a family and just exploring. Lots to see and a lot of things for the kids to do. They especially enjoyed the kids adventure zone. I just wish things were just a little bit closer to each other, but appreciate the size for the animals to roam.

This was awesome! I recommend buying the city pass if you're in Toronto for a few days and then there's no wait. Very cool to see and the grounds are very well maintained! We could see all the animals because there's multiple viewing points.

  • 4/5 Nima M. 10 months ago on Google
Nice place to spend some times. Animals are divided based on the area and continents they live, which makes the zoo very huge. But it does not mean essentially you would see so much animals. It was a bit boring to me. And at the end I had a hard time to find the EXIT way due to lack of enough signs, after going through different zones.

  • 5/5 Cerise 9 months ago on Google
The Toronto Zoo is truly a magical place! I understand why it's recommended to purchase a membership because there's not enough time on a day trip to observe all 450 + species. For the nature and animal enthusiasts, it's definitely worth purchasing the membership! On a busy Saturday, the entrance lineup was long! I would highly recommend scanning the QR code at the entrance or purchasing your pass online. This will save you at least 45 minutes. When you arrive, simply show your QR code to the clerk. You will get lost on the 700 acres of land if you do not keep your map handy. The maps can be found near the front entrance. Indo Malaya was my favorite site at the zoo. Observing the beauty of the peacocks was truly the highlight of my visit - the most magnificent creature I have ever seen. Overall, I do not have one negative thing to say about my visit. I truly had an incredible day. It's a great place to spend the day with the family and friends. Bring your own food or purchase food at the zoo. There's an abundance of picnic tables to sit and eat.

We did the bush camp one wild night. And our guides Jasckson and Nathalie were absolute gold from start to finish. So much knowledge they shared with us about the park and the animals. The experience and behind the scenes with the animals are worth every penny. The accommodations were awesome in the tent and slept so good and even heard the lions roaring during the night. Next day we did the zoo and ran out of time so much to see and do. Zoo mobile was awesome and help out in the rain. Tons of restaurants on site and bathrooms were really clean. Everyone was super pleased with their day and we will be back.

I had a fantastic visit to the Toronto Zoo! The diverse range of animals and well-maintained habitats truly impressed me. The staff's dedication to conservation and education was evident through informative displays and interactive experiences. The Zoo's commitment to animal welfare and their conservation efforts made for an enjoyable and enlightening day. I can't wait to visit again soon!

We participated in the "Love Scarborough" event where we raised money for the Scarborough Hospitals. This event was celebrated at the Toronto Zoo, so participants were given entry. However, the visit left me feeling profoundly disappointed. Observing the animals in a tired and subdued state was disheartening. Their lack of energy and apparent unhappiness cast a somber atmosphere over the experience. This was quite unlike my previous visits to the zoo, where I hadn't encountered such feelings. Aside from the state of the animals, another aspect of the visit that struck me was the exorbitant cost of food and beverages. From my morning coffee and breakfast to the available lunch options, the prices were notably high. Additionally, I found that the zoo staff appeared uninformed about the benefits and perks that were supposed to be offered to those who were participating in the Love Scarborough event. This lack of awareness caused us to miss out on certain advantages, including the shuttle service. Given my medical condition, I was particularly hoping for a convenient ride back to the front gate, but unfortunately, this option wasn't available. As a result, the return trip proved to be quite a struggle for me.

It's been a while since I've been to the Toronto zoo and I probably won't return. It is a lovely place but was far better when I was a kid. The difference in crowds was shocking. It was impossible to move an inch without being walked into or pushed around. Our country has taken in a lot of new people and our population is growing very quickly. The zoos layout inside the indoor spaces is unfortunately far too tight to get through and actually be able to see anything with the amount of people flooding in. In my opinion, the zoo is still great and I recommend anyone if you haven't been, to go and experience it for yourself but it was a better place for me when I was a kid.

  • 5/5 John Y. 8 months ago on Google
The zoo was an amazing experience to get to see a bunch of different animals from across the world. I would recommend buying tickets in person so you can take advantage of the presto card savings. Parking was 15$ but I think it’s pretty fair considering how long you’ll spend there.

The Toronto Zoo offers an enriching experience with its vast collection of animals from around the globe. Housing over 5,000 creatures in well-maintained habitats, it educates visitors on wildlife conservation. Its diverse exhibits provide a family-friendly outing, though some may find the area expansive and requiring substantial walking. Overall, it’s a remarkable destination for animal enthusiasts.

Bravo Toronto Zoo, for all you do to make us humans remember and appreciate how amazing other species are. The animals look healthy and comfortable in this world-class zoo. My fave this time was the orangatang mom and baby. The staff are great too: I got talking with a zookeeper scooping up goat poop and she was so fun to talk to, happily telling us the observations she's made in the poop of different animals. If you're the parent of a teenager, the zoo is a great way to unplug them for a whole day and give them lots of exercise. My teens just loved bringing a friend and being turned loose in here. They did the WHOLE zoo while I could explore more slowly myself. The flowers and landscaping are beautifully done. There is room for improvement on the signage coming into parking. It needs to be more clear, both on Google Maps, and on site. Also, cleanliness of the washrooms near the gate seems to be an issue.

Organized a corporate event at the Zoo for 500+ guests and it went amazingly. The catering company was really good and was able to accommodate some dietary restrictions very well. They were even have scooters for rent for mobility challenges people like me which I appreciated very much as our picnic site was VERY far from the entrance, but otherwise a great time was had by all

Very enjoyable, this is my second time visiting and have yet to cover the entire zoo, took my son for his 5 birthday along with some friends. Would definitely recommend. I would say it's better going earlier in the day time hours before it's too crowded as well as late spring early fall when the weather tends to be cooler.

It was a great experience. Come early so you can visit it all. We went in at 3pm and there was just not enough time to visit all the stops. One can ride in the Zoo Mobile but it is best to get off in every stop to fully see all the animals. It is best to purchase tickets online rather than waiting in line, just to save time. Also, they have lower rate online when you purchase at an earlier time. (Dkwhy)

An excellent attraction for all ages, the perfect blend of educational and entertaining. It was a great experience even without going on any of the short rides or adventures which cost extra money. The food options are quite expensive for what you get, but they allow you to bring in your own food and drink, and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor dining areas. I will definitely pack a picnic next time I go. The souvenir shops are also fairly disorganized, and not everything on display at their smaller kiosks throughout the zoo are available in their main shop by the front gate. They also don't restock throughout the day, and if you wait until the end of your visit to go to the shop, pickings will be slim, especially for clothing. In the end, the money goes towards supporting the zoo animals and conservation, so 5 stars.

Wear comfortable shoes. Be prepared to walk, a lot, like 10,00p steps! Lol My advise is go on a cooler, less sunny day, and you'll see so many animals. The tram is an additional cost of $30 for 4 but it came in handy especially at the end of our visit.

We love the zoo! I love learning all about the animals from the volunteers. They have a wealth of knowledge! It is so big so I recommend getting a membership so that you can see it all slowly. It’s such a great way to spend a big part of your day outside. Lots of picnic tables to choose from. I love how there’s lots of fun “playground” areas for the kids everywhere.

Best zoo experience I've had. We went on a slightly cooler day that was overcast, most animals were out eating/grazing or sleeping in the shade. Staff was very vocal which I thoroughly enjoyed. Very confident, knowledgeable and friendly (extra shout out to the keeper and volunteer for the Kookaburra as well as the volunteer for the Polar bear. Wonderful people with obvious love for the animals.) Animals looked very healthy across the board which made the experience even better. 10/10 recc, would travel halfway across the country to visit again!

Visited the zoo on November 4, 2023. In my opinion, it was a bit late in the year to visit because many animals had been moved due to the cold weather. The entrance was free with the Canoo app. I was amazed to see some animals for the first time in my life. It's a great place for a date and a family outing.

A very good zoo to visit in Toronto. There’s a lot of animals to look at and have fun with your kids and well now we were only in Africa and Indonesia but before we visited everywhere and yes it’s cool. They have an online service called zoolife where you can see cameras and some secrets but I think you need to buy a subscription. So yeah overall I’d say 9/10 Services 3/10
