Animals have nice enclosures with room for running and accessible closed shelters. Some were displayed inside in smaller glass enclosures. Many animals and all animals looked healthy and well fed.

It's alittle pricey for the size of the zoo however love that you can feed the giraffes and goats. Would be nice to be able to feed monkeys like creation Kingdom but love that it provides ample shade areas from the sun. The drink machine near giraffes need updated as it's $1 bills only and no debit cards or change machine near by. Would be nice if they had some big cats but Overall kids had a good time.

Great zoo for a small town! Lots to see, totally worth a visit with or without kids. Exhibits are such that you can get up close for some of the animals. It was not crowded on a Monday morning. It sprinkled rain for a few minutes and we sought refuge under some trees with the ostriches! I was really impressed with the variety of animals. Loved the penguins and otters and all the birds.

This Zoo was an absolute surprise! I was a little skeptical about how much it might have to offer and if the kids were going to be excited, we showed up and there was so much to do and so many different kinds of animals! Plenty of areas to rest and get out of the sun as well and activities like gem mining was a plus! Great day trip to take from Asheville or Bristol. We will be back!

This is probably the best zoo we have been to. Lots of exotic animals, the grounds and animals are well cared for, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. We drove in from Knoxville and will definitely be back.

Fun and wonderful place. I will be coming back and bringing my friends back with me. Loved the otters and the Penguins. Love feeding the camels. Easy walk smooth paved walks. Handicapped accessible to every bit of the zoo. On wacky Wednesdays half off admissions with a member you 10% off each ticket.. You will love it.

Cute family owned zoo that makes it obviously known they truly care for their animals and the staff seem to be valued as well. Animal exhibits are for the most part well kept, clean and maintained with fresh water and regular feedings. Some exhibits seemed older and perhaps needed refreshed and it seems the owners are in the process of more improvements. The staff make it a priority for guests to know the rules to keep animals and humans safe. Very knowledgeable about the animals and interact with the guests by answering questions and engaging kids with the animals. Guests can pay extra to feed birds, goats and giraffes. The giraffes are very popular right now with the birth of the very rare spotless baby, so the zoo was busy and some of the feeding spots were sold out for the day. Food options were mostly junk food (pizza, burgers, Dinonuggies) at the concession stands so I would have enjoyed some healthier options. We ate off the grounds due to the limited choices. Parking was easy and this made for a nice afternoon with the family. Bathrooms were dirty yet again place was very busy and perhaps we just went at the peak time. I can only imagine how much a family has to factor into running a zoo so kudos to this team for being welcoming and taking care of the animals very well. It was obvious and I cannot stress that enough.

This is definitely a great zoo! The new penguin and otter display are awesome. The giraffes are another highlight as well. This zoo is very stroller friendly as well as handicap accessible. The whole zoo has nice concrete sidewalks throughout. There are plenty of benches. You can feed the giraffes and goats by hand for a small fee. The snack bar offers different options and is pretty good. They also have gem mining for a separate fee ($6-$10) depending on which bag you choose. All in all for a smaller zoo they offer a ton of exhibits.

We had the best experience at this zoo! The grounds were very well kept, the animals were just so fun to look at, & staff was very friendly. We got to feed the birds, giraffes, and goats! How fun is that! Ginny greeted us upon our arrival.. she is just so fun, a ray of sunshine! Such a wonderful person to have as an employee. Everyone was very knowledgeable. We definitely learned a lot about the animals. Highly recommend! We are considering purchasing a membership 😊🦜

The staff were all amazing! Very friendly, helpful, and informative. This zoo is kept as pristine as a zoo can be! There is a variety of animals and feedings to satisfy many curious minds. It was a hot day today (6/26) and the misting stations were a blessing for our crew! Plenty of shade and benches along the paths to rest. There is a food station and eating area with easy meals, drinks, candy, and snacks. Outside food and snacks are not allowed in, as people have been feeding the animals things they shouldn't. Your bags will be searched. We didn't mind, it was for the good of the animals. Overall, we had a great experience and upgraded to year passes. Look forward to our next experience :)

Brights Zoo was an awesome experience. Especially with the spotless giraffe, Kipekee! We were fortunate enough to see her and the other baby giraffe playing in the large pen by chasing each other. The other animals were alert and looked great in their enclosures. We arrived 30 minutes early to an almost full parking lot. Kipekee has raised quite a stir for the area and USA! Be sure to make your way here.

So impressed with Bright's Zoo! Traveled up from Asheville for the day and we were pleasantly surprised by the amazing facility at Bright's Zoo. Tons of unique animals to see, the giraffes were amazing and the train ride was definitely worth it! A very cool behind the scenes feel. The place was laid out so great for our 5 year old to keep him engaged, but not too much walking either. The entire place is well kept and clean. Food was really good too! We will definitely be back.

This little zoo in our own backyard is an absolute gem! My Mom & I went to see the darling baby spotless giraffe, and we splurged on the penguin encounter (additional charge). The penguins were the highlight of our day! Their keeper was exceptionally knowledgeable & fun to listen to, and watching her herd 3 penguins was like watching her herd toddlers - I hadn’t laughed so hard in ages! The penguins were named Alice, Dolly, and Waylon - they were hilarious & so much fun to be around. If you have the chance, check out Bright’s Zoo, and splurge on the penguin encounter. You’ll be glad you did!

Had a wonderful visit today at the zoo! Never been before and I must say compared to other zoo's this place is great! The prices are wonderful and it's big enough to where it never felt crowded. The animals look very well taken care of and there were some I never even saw before or even heard of! I do wish they would upgrade their food as it was the only negative of the day. But really not a big deal and we had ice cream and that made up for a not so good lunch. My son did the gem mining and he loved it. So glad it's so close to where we live. Am considering getting an annual membership!

If you're looking for something to do as a family this is the place. You won't be disappointed, highly recommend. Be sure to check their website to know the rules before going or you might have to return things to your vehicle that they don't allow.

My husband and I visited Brights Zoo in April, 2019. We traveled 800 miles to Limestone TN to see Alf, the famous giraffe, who was hand raised by loving humans at the zoo. We have been following the Zoo on facebook since Alf's birth. We arrived early but were told we could go ahead and enter because there were children from school groups touring the zoo that day so they had opened early. This Zoo is in a rural area and is like a little slice of heaven. All of the animals are in very clean pens, and/or large outdoor areas. The giraffes are in a large, beautiful area that also has a feeding deck. Yes, I did feed the giraffes! My only disappointment was not getting to see Alf's human Mother, Maggie. Also, we had wanted to shake the hand of Mr Bright, but he was working in the concession stand and we didn't want to bother him. Melinda was working in the gift shop and was very friendly. There are yummy snacks available and a gift shop that has something for everyone! Cant wait to return and bring our Grand daughter!!

Bright’s Zoo is a wonderful place to visit. It is easy to get to, good parking, friendly and knowledeable people working there. It is an easy place to walk around and very, very clean. Best of all, they have a fantastic assortment of animals to see and learn about. If you’re looking for a great day of fun then Bright’s Zoo is the place to go! Don’t pass this gem up. Be sure to see Alf - the handsomest giraffe around.

This is a very nice place. The enclosures are clean. The animals are well taken care of. The keepers are knowledgeable and take very good care of the animals. By far, the cleanest and most cared for zoo I've been to! The animals are sociable and have personality. They dont just lay around! We went because we saw an article in the paper about the penguins. I love penguins and was not disappointed! We will go again...

I Cannot Begin To Give This Place ENOUGH STARS!!! Absolutely FANTASTIC and FUN!! We love it MORE than ZOO Knoxville not only because we live only 15 minutes from there, but that you cannot believe the sheer availability and diversity of Animals offered as well as the Professionalism and Care Bright's offers its visitors. The Prices for Concessions and Gifts are VERY Low compared to Larger Parks! Without a Doubt β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†! This Zoo is going places and expanding it's exhibits and Beautiful Creatures! Plenty of places to sit for those like me with a knee problem! We WILL be back Soon! I can say this is the best zoo I have ever visited. The staff was very friendly and welcoming with me from the first moment I walked in. They really take care of the animals. The staff is very knowledgeable in all the animals they have. The food and even the sweet tea are excellent. The gift shop has an abundance of terrific gifts to buy. I would definitely recommend visiting Brights Zoo. It’s a fun place to visit.

My experiences with Brights Zoo have been through pictures from numerous friends who have been there. It's always clean and the animals look healthy and well cared for. I have talked by phone many times with the Brights as I have participated in some special projects there. Mr. and Mrs. Bright are friendly, caring, and as accommodating as possible. Wonderful privately owned zoo. Staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. They will answer any questions that you may have. We spent 4 hours here and only seen just over half. So, with our membership, we can go back anytime and see everything else. The enclosures are large, cleaned and well maintained. All of the animals we seen appeared to be healthy and well cared for. Looking forward to our return visit.

We recently visited Bright's zoo with our Little's first grade class for a field trip. It was a nice place and everyone had a great time. They are open from 10-5 which is plenty of time to make it through the zoo. Their parking area is kind of small but has more room than you would think. They have animal food that you can purchase for a little extra (You can feed anytime for the goats but there's a schedule for giraffes/penguins) You will be given a map when you enter but it's very easy to navigate, mostly a big loop with signs to let you know where you are, where you're going, and what type of animal you're looking at. (Along with a few fun facts along the way) There are restrooms conveniently located on both sides of the park. Everything is handicapped accessible. They even have ride- ons for rent, for easier navigation of the park. They also have a concession stand that offers a little bit of everything including drinks, Pizza, fries, hamburgers, ice cream, etcetera. No outside food is allowed. Neither are straws. Our only complaint was the honey bees at the picnic tables and concession areas. They were ruthless. Of course, it's to be expected around food and stuff and we don't blame the zoo for that. We will definitely visit again.

First time there. Mainly wanted to see the spotless baby giraffe. That was a treat to see. They have so much more! Numerous animals I've not seen before. To me, in some ways, it's better than Knoxville Zoo. Went Oct. 15th. There was a chilly wind and some animals stayed inside. It is a great place to spend an afternoon. We'll definitely return on a warmer day.

Amazing family run zoo!! We arrived early and were first ones into the zoo. Pathways were wide, but could be close to animals. Animals were active and a great variety. The giraffe feeding was well done. In small groups at a time on platform, so time to get pictures. The spotless giraffe was cool to see, but kids were impressed with other animals as well. Great anteater, many types of monkey/gibbon/lemurs, undertaker bird, and many others.

I was so excited to have the chance to visit Brights Zoo since following their Facebook page for a couple of years. Absolutely thrilled to see Alf the young giraffe and the rest of their tower. Had a fabulous day walking around the zoo and meeting the rest of their animals and many staff. Brights Zoo is a wonderful place to visit for kids (and adults) of ALL ages. Can't wait to return!!

A phrase many people have used is β€œMy happy place”. I can personally agree with them. Brights Zoo is a wonderful place to spend a day (or more!). After the first visit, I got a yearly pass and LOVE going here to spend a few hours. The zoo is clean and beautiful. Wide sidewalks, arched natural shaded avenues everywhere, benches to rest on, but you won’t want to sit long......WAY too much to see. ❀️. So many animals that I had never seen before....they took my breath away. You don’t even realize how educational it is. The owners take pride in their home. Do I even need to mention Alf?!? I watched him grow from a little scudder to such a handsome β€œteen”. (I end up talking to all the animals. Ya can’t help it! This is a jewel in a gorgeous mountain setting.....perfect for families on vacation.

Also, last Saturday, we were at brights zoo in limestone Tennessee, so we got to see the new baby draft with no spots and the proud mom, My wife thinks she looks like an oversize deer. I think the zoo is worth a trip if you’ve never been it’s a cool little place to get away and take the kids for a couple hours or an hour and a nice relaxing ride we enjoyed.

Very cool seeing the only spotless giraffe in the world, Kipekee. A little concerned for a couple of the cats that were pacing and other animals looking lethargic and bored. Otherwise, a very nicely kept zoo. Lots of unique animals to observe. The black swans were beautiful.

i plotted on street view before we left, coming from I-81. Hard to see on divided highway. There is no way to turn into zoo from that direction. You must go past zoo and make a u turn to come back if you see the small red ZOO sign. the entrance is very narrow, be careful. Focus through 2 wire fences will be a challenge with full sun, umbrella recommended, wish we had taken ours. Very good trip. Nice Zoo. Umbrella on no rain days for photos and video.

The animal habitats allowed great opportunities to view the animals. Loved getting to feed the giraffes and see the baby all-brown giraffe 🀎 My only complaint is that they don't allow glass containers or baby food pouches so we're weren't able to bring any of our one-year-olds' food in with us.

  • 2/5 Corey C. 6 months ago on Google
Not a fan of this zoo at all! The lady was barking orders at everyone like we were morons. There are more ban items at this place then the TSA. They don’t allow any food or drinks from outside. The poor diabetic person in line with us was turn away because of an apple juice with a straw. The layout is horrible. The only reason this zoo is on our radar was because of the spotless giraffe. Basically they have a ton of the same animals in different enclosures. So you can see the same monkeys a few times at a few different locations. The planted trees between the enclosures and the walking path. So on an entire row you can’t hardly see any animals at all! Skip skip skip!!!

  • 5/5 Tina S. 6 months ago on Google

Nice small zoo with lots of farm type animals and some various others. While we loved that the animals have so much open space to roam it was challenging to see them at times, especially with multiple layers of fencing. Easy to walk around and lots of shade.

From the moment you walk in, you realize just how special Bright's Zoo is. Each animal, each enclosure, each exhibit is more captivating than the one before. The keepers are so welcoming and will gladly take the time to tell you the names of the animals and cute stories of their unique personalities. The variety of species is the perfect amount to stop and enjoy each one as you walk the gorgeous and pristine grounds. The giraffe feedings are not to be missed and are a hi light every time I visit. The owners are super sweet and really make you feel like you are a part of their extended zoo family . The snack bar is also really yummy. I drive over 2 hours to visit and I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area. It is a must see, and you won't be disappointed. I.LOVE THIS ZOO

This is a gem of a zoo and one of the cleanest and well maintained zoos I have ever been to. From the hard working staff to the wide variety of endangered animals this was an awesome experience. I would highly recommend a visit . Very educational and heartwarming to see how dedicated the staff are and how they care for the animals. Giraffe feedings are amazing and the spider monkeys kept me smiling with their hilarious antics. The catering services are excellent as were the public facilities. I would certainly visit this zoo again as I see how well the animals are looked after. It truly is a peaceful and beautiful place in Limestone Tennessee .

We had the most pleasant visit to Brights Zoo! Staff was so welcoming and informative. The property was very clean and nicely landscaped and every animal/reptile/bird appeared healthy and well cared for. Their message of conservation of several species was of particular importance to us. Admission, snacks and gift items were so affordable. A great experience for all ages!

Bright's Zoo is a jewel located in scenic Northeast Tennessee. It is a truly beautiful and well-designed, well-maintained animal park owned by a fine family dedicated not just to their animals, but to animals worldwide. The staff is professional and eager to share knowledge about the numerous animal species at Bright's. There's a great little grill and gift shop on premises, also. For a special and memorable experience, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Bright's.

Good local place to take kids to. Especially since there aren't many other places in this small area anyway. Wish there was more animals but you can't beat it for the price.

Our son has autism and we have been afraid to go since they have been labeled as not autism friendly. We had no problems this trip. We had a very good time, especially our son. He really loved the feeding and mining. Would be nice to have some more hands on areas for the smaller kids or kids at heart. Consession line was really slow. One in our party waited at least 30 minutes just to get to the front to order a pretzel and no there wasn't a very long line at the time. Would also be nice to have some "misting" areas so people can cool off a little and enjoy the animals more. Loved the idea of animal benches. Those were really fun!

We absolutely loved it! We've been there during their normal zoo times and love it. The animal enclosures are very clean and beautiful, as well as the property. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. This was our first boo at the zoo there, and it was amazing. Our son was able to feed the camels, since the rain canceled feeding the giraffes, we rode the train and seen bison and behind the scene tour and it was very reasonably priced and those enclosures were clean as well. Highly recommend this zoo!

We are fortunate to have the zoo this Far East in Tennessee for us to enjoy. We got to feed the giraffes, pet animals, feed birds, play with furnished toys, and see a variety of animals. Clean establishment, swimmingly organized. The kids absolutely love it and that’s the main thing. I recommend

My family has had annual passes here for the past couple of years. We always have a great time! Lots of variety of animals. There are several animal interaction opportunities for a small extra charge - you can feed the giraffes (my favorite), the lorakeets and the goats. There are many different sizes and prices for the gem mining, which we do for the kids' birthdays as an extra treat. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The gift shop and concessions are very affordable, not overpriced like most zoos. Also has the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen at a public place.
