An unethical tourist trap, which uses the term "zoo" quite literally. The best part of the aquarium is the large wall by the entrance that you can see (and take photos with) for free. Inside the aquarium it's hectic, even at off-peak times on weekdays, with little regard for COVID-19 precautions. The tunnel underneath the giant tank is so busy that you can't stop to admire the fish and sharks you've paid to see. Too many people are allowed in at once, and we are hurried along to buy expensive photos at various points. The staff are seriously overworked trying to manage the crowds in such a confined space. Aside from overwhelmed staff, if you've been to good aquariums it's hard not to feel that the animals in this one are being exploited. Why would an aquarium in a mall need not one but TWO crocodiles, macaws and Gentoo penguins? Many of the tanks for land animals are in poor condition, and mostly too small. The fish tanks also look overcrowded and dirty, and many of the reptiles and birds look anxious and depressed. Some visitors also feel very entitled to bother them, and staff struggle to address this. There seems to be no conservation activities linked to the aquarium or zoo. It feels like these animals are just another product to buy in the Mall. Overall I would not recommend investing in going inside.

Easy viewing for free. If you want to walk in the tunnel it's about $50. To me it wasn't worth it as it's a very short walk. Probably great for cool selfies. Good signs throughout the massive mall. A good walk 10 min from the train but well worth it. Plenty of free viewing opportunities from 3 floors.

A life time experience at Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo. This is really beautiful. You get to see a wide variety of marine animals, insects, reptiles and even birds. I was really amazed to see all of these managed well inside the mall. It is beautiful and in Dubai do not miss this place. It is one of the best experiences you can have. It is definitely one of a kind but the reception counter is not at all organized. Even with prior online booking you gave to stand in the same queue as ticket purchasing one. The lady who attended us was very confused. After a walk through the tunnel on the ground floor you have to go to the upper floor to visit the rest of the aquarium about which they Don't tell you clearly. The aquarium/zoo is not well maintained and the visiting trail is not very well demarcated. You will have to figure out yourself the direction you will follow. But I would still say the creatures out their are beautiful to look at. They do have varieties of fishes and other underwater creatures. But yes the people inside their are least interested to guide you through the place, so better be attentive before visiting.

Wow... just wow experience. Lots of different types of fishes you may have not seen. But the most exciting part was shark encountere in a shark cage. It was thrilling to even watch. When I've visited they were feeding the fish and it was a good experience to watch it. Aquarium is awesome, they have also kept types of parrots and night creatures at the zoo. Wonderful to see these.

Yes it is very cool the fact that they have such a big tank with huge sharks in it inside a mall, but it is definitely overpriced and not worth it. While walking, The big tank can be seen and pictures can be taken without paying. There’s a big variety of animals in this “aquarium”, and if you want to see what the hype it’s about then sure. People just base they reviews and the coolness and amazing fact of where this place it’s located at.

Got to see a variety of marine species up close. Overall nice experience, the area isn’t huge but covers a lot of aquatic animals. Even though many fish are visible from outside it was great to go in as well. My favourites are the Sawfish, Piranhas, Turtles, Jellyfish and the giant crocodile. There are shops selling snacks and ice-cream inside, also a gift shop at the end of the tour. We had got vouchers with our ticket and got discounts at these places.

It was very busy when we went I think it's best to go as soon as it opens. All staff were very informative and loved to ask questions. There a spaces to park your buggy for kids. Cafe had no seats and the ice cream was beyond expensive make sure you ask how much per scoop. Next time I would like to try to meet the peguines and boat ride overall the packages they have a good for the price and the gift shop was awesome. Also the fact that you can take a picture buy one for 100 and still download the rest is pretty great.

Standing outside and looking is all you really need. The tunnel was included in the Dubai pass so we did it. While it is cool, you get the same view from the side as you do in the tunnel. There is an upper floor aquarium that is really cool to go inside and explore. There are lots of different smaller tanks, a few big tanks that hold 2 crocodiles, you can pet sharks, and different birds flying around overhead. This isn't an attraction you would typically expect in a mall, but it is worth the time to explore while you are there

Good for kids and adults. A must to visit if you are in Dubai.

What a great experience! I have to admit about going initially thinking it would be small and waste of money, but I will pleasantly surprised. It had so many animals and unlike land zoos you can get right up close to them and actually see them in action. The zoo is spacious and even though busy you don't feel rushed. Plenty of space for the pram and the kid to run around safely. My only word of advice is book online before you come, it's almost a 50% discount to the counter price.

It is a very impressive aquarium and very well kept. It is quite nice when you look at it from the outside. However, inside the tunnel it could be a bit dizzying. The round shape with the thick glass can be a bit disorienting. We also went to meet the penguins but we were not allowed to touch them. The photos they take of you in front of a green screen just feels like a scam especially when they charge 200 AED (~$65) per photo. We paid for the ultimate experience but then we couldn’t even take our phone to meet the penguin which forces people to pay for overpriced photos. The variety of animals is impressive. The flow of the place is a bit confusing too. I would not recommend it overall speaking.

You can then go into the rest of the zoo , which has a variety of mammals and other sea life. There is a look at the huge lagoon , a trip around with the sharks feeding the fish and a talk on the breeding and genetics of the animals. I love penguins and you get to see lots of them which is really cool, You have the option of seeing the King Croc , feeding and up close contact. The options cost more it all depends what you want to see, The whole area has an elevated walk way and it’s larger than you first imagine. There is a cafe too and vending machines dotted around. The final part is the gift shop and the photo shots. I have a great pic from there. It’s a great aquarium and zoo with a large array of marine life and mammals, it’s a nice way to spend a few hours. A thoroughly recommended destination in Dubai.

The tickets we had were complimentary and therefore we only got to see the inside of the aquarium and the underwater zoo.. I would have love to have an immersive experience but it was rather expensive. I wouldn't blame it probably cost's a lot for the way they've maintained it. It's clean, and my niece had a blast. Hats off to the people that labour day and night that make it beautiful for us to see and might I add... Even the smell was better😜

I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed the Aquarium and Underwater Zoo. There was so much diversity of underwater life and there were stories attached to every one. They have tried making it green and rocky. You will find a retail shop and a cafe from where you can get refreshments and small gifts for your homies if you are specially on Dubai tour. Try getting your tickets online, you will get your tickets on cheaper rates with additional services (offers may change every week). At the entry of aquarium or zoo both you will get clicked by the team and later on you can collect those pictures at the exist. They get your pictures ready at the exist in no time. So be ready with your poses and you can collect those pictures by paying an amount of you want to. I personally want to thank the people doing mermaid shows in aquarium, you guys are really entertaining, thank you so much for your efforts.

While it seems quite impressive on the outside, the aquarium is quite short and disappointing. The "zoo" portion with more animals located on the second floor was really the interesting part but by then the disappointment had mostly settled in. The waiting time to get to the tickets was ridiculous (almost an hour) and surprisingly confusing since the line was not so straight-forward. When finally getting to the underwater tunnel....it lasted 4-5 minutes. Of course the zoo portion was well done, felt a bit crammed, it was somewhat varied and if you want to see penguins you have to pay extra for that, so keep that in mind. Either way, I honestly don't think it's really worth it much and there are many more things to do with shorter waiting times and much more enjoyable experiences.

Nice Aquarium in a mall, I bought a go city pass and it includes entry for this attraction. This aquarium is home to almost 140 species which include lot of different fishes, sharks, turtles, crabs, spiders, and reptiles. I would recommend this place for kids and if you have not been to Atlantic hotel or any big aquariums. Do not expect big animals (tigers, lions, elephants, deers, etc) in the zoo, this is more aquarium. Plan an hour to stay here.

Situated inside the Dubai Mall this is one of the largest aquarium one can visit. A large part is visible from the mall itself (even without getting inside). There are numerous marine species housed in this aquarium. Apart from these there is a section for nocturnal animals as well. Its quite surprising how these creatures are brought in the mid of a mall to create this gigantic aquarium. Ticket price as on March 2022 was 120 AED per person.

Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful, the tank is huge and you can’t miss it. A great variety of fishes to see. It would be nice if the ticket gave you more information on how the aquariums laid out because when we entered the tunnel we thought there’s more after that immediately like how most aquariums are connected, but in this instance it’s not. After the tunnel you’ll have to get out and go to the next two floors to see more but in between it’s like you’re not part of the ticket package anymore, like you can go shopping and eat then come back and go to the next part. Great experience overall, there was so much to see. It’s stunning! It was incredible to see the night desert animals as I’ve never seen that before in any zoo. Everything in the zoo is so vibrant.

It was truly amazing. The staff is so friendly! I did the tour behind the “scenes” and got to see how they run the aquarium. I loved being here, and the vitality of animals is incredible. Al I can wish for is for everyone visiting the aquarium not to tap, slap and knock on the glass of the fish tanks. It’s not nice and they don’t have to be treated by us humans. The fact that it's the largest aquarium, under the tallest building, smack bang in the middle of the largest shopping mall in the world makes it very convenient but hard to enjoy all the marine life they've crammed in there because its always so crowded. I've never been inside but seen it from all outer levels available so not sure where is the space to fit in more animals for a zoo.

The aquarium is really not worth the money BUT if you are going to visit it with the underwater zoo its fun. The price is a bit too much but there are a lot of different fish species/ turtles/ crocodiles / nightlife animals and some parrots that you can see flying around and otters 😍🥰 You spend 40min-1hr there but for kids they might enjoy it more than adults.

This place is alright. You can see the aquarium from the outside. The underwater zoo was good. It cost around £90 for 2 people. However you can get vouchers online for a cheaper price. I purchased my tickets at the aquarium.

What a marvel, once you enter there it's mesmerizing. During your visit to Dubai Mall, both Burj Khalifa and Dubai aquarium can be seen along with the Dubai Mall visit. The unique sea creatures are out of this world. We came across a specific fish I don't know the name but posting a video, which was reacting to our actions, it was dancing and smiling when we talked to that fish, amazing life time experience. We did our local tours with North Tours in Dubai itself and that was also very good, supportive and extremely economical with high class comfort and service and good toyota and nissan high end cars. We were lucky our whole trip expense excluding personal purchases was round 1.25 lakhs inr for 3 people all inclusive and this Dubai Aquarium visit was around 10k inr for 3 people. We went in June, Ramzaan period unknowingly, still they supported in the best way and guided us considering the common rules to be followed i.e. no food and water from 6 to 6pm or else 500 dirhams fine. If you are short of days in your Dubai tour, do Burj Khalifa and then Desert Safari and then Dubai mall and aquarium rest you can skip.

I've had wonderful experience in this place. This is a well-known tourist spot inside Dubai Mall in Downtown Dubai. We got the tickets on promotion, so it was a good deal for us. There are a lot of variants of fish, jellyfish, and other underwater creatures. Aside from that, they have reptiles and birds on show, and penguins too! Children and adults alike will enjoy the experience. It is highly educational and entertaining at the same time. Recommended to go early or late at night. This place can get really crowded.

I am a bit disappointed with the aquarium and underwater zoo!...i was expecting a more lively experience, but the glasses were not clean, so it didn't feel like we are surrounded by the fishes..just felt like watching a normal aquarium... wasn't expecting that. The fishes must be trained too and they were not feeding on small fishes...they were just swimming with no other activity at all. We can see the same thing in normal aquariums too!..not worth the visit..Even the underwater zoo, the fish containers were not clear...it was not engaging at all!.. I didn't want to stay longer

My overall experience was intriguing. I loved how the blue light water looks exactly like the ocean 🌊 sea suitable for the fishes. Sections were made to look like the natural habitat with the space, features & overall design. Pay attention to details cuz there’s a lot to see and learn from. Love how brief insights were given for each animal and they don’t look scared or feel sad 🤣🤣 yes I can tell. It’s not just sightseeing, also teachable and very safe for everyone to come visit. Pictures are also taken & framed for a fee tho and they offer other experiences almost like snorkeling 🤿 inside the massive aquarium, which I’d love to do some other time.

Best Aquarium i have ever seen. Well maintained 👍🏻 People think it is what wee see from mall but there is so much more to it. They have 140 plus species in there. This place is incredibly disappointing. It looks awesome from outside, but it’s not worth spending a single penny on entering the aquarium. The tunnel is short, full of people so you can’t take a normal photo, or enjoy what you see because everyone is walking up and down. The other part of it just has far too many animals in a far too small place. I wouldn’t recommend visiting the place, keep your money and spend it in the mall instead.

The aquarium inside the mall is stunning. The huge glass walls give you a really fantastic view of the variety of animal life they have inside of the tank. Standing outside and looking is all you really need. The tunnel was included in the Dubai pass so we did it. While it is cool, you get the same view from the side as you do in the tunnel. There is an upper floor aquarium that is really cool to go inside and explore. There are lots of different smaller tanks, a few big tanks that hold 2 crocodiles, you can pet sharks, and different birds flying around overhead. This isn't an attraction you would typically expect in a mall, but it is worth the time to explore while you are there.

The aquarium is incredible I’ve visited a couple of times however the boat was a disappointment it was just one round in a small oval not so many fish can be observed , the penguins area was fine the guy didn’t explain in a clear voice we barely understood , feeding the fish was nice but we were not able to feed them without an encounter package which was not nice . The under zoo is nice and it has unique creatures.

King Croc, manta rays, colourful jellyfish, etc. On top of that, we saw quite a few different species not seen anywhere else, which was a bonus. Good signings in English & Arabic made it easy to move around, not to mention other useful facilities available on site. Bear in mind though, unless you plan to splash some serious cash around or visit this particular place, Dubai Mall itself might not be worth the trip, but obviously that's a matter of personal taste.

We could not do the Penguin tour. When we arrived there a man told us to wait 10 min, which is fine. After 10 min and another 5 min of queue the tour was full again. They told us to come back after 10 min. We wait again and after another queue we enter in, but the guide told us to get out of the tour because they were -after all- full! Believe it or not they dare asking us to wait for another 10 min. We just left...50eur for 10min of visits and more than 40 min of wait without having the possibility to do the tour. Total shame.

The zoo is amazing and have alot of breeds of animals. Its kept natural and amazing. Unfortunately, the boat experience was not as expected. Its just a 2 to 3 mins activity and that runs the boat from one corner to another. The lady who is guid and boat controller she doesn't give time to see and the glass of the boat is very dirty you will bareable see something down due to poor visibility and it is not allowed to lean out. In simple i won't recommend to go for boat ride.

Done the evening walk in Artis (zoo). It was quiet interesting, and about nature around us and in the zoo and the city of Amsterdam. You download an app of Artis and with your phone and earset you walk through and around the zoo and will discover a lot of things wich you don't notice during daytime. Its really nice. All animals you still can visite during this walk. It's really enjoyeble and really recommendable. Although Dutch wetter isn't always relyable (it was raining and lightning) we enjoyed it a lot 😉 an umbrella or poncho you can buy at the zoo shop 😁

Dubai Aquarium and underwater zoo is located within the Dubai Mall. These two are probably two of the shortest tours in Dubai for me. The aquarium has different types of sea fishes and a beautiful place to take some pictures even though it's a very short tour. However it's kind of an anticlimax at the end as you kinda expect more and then the fun ends 😅. The zoo also has different see creatures with displays showing their origin or their nature. Another short one but quite interesting

The underwater zoo is very well made and interesting. The aquarium is spectacular for sure, with many sharks and various other fish but maybe a little too short. I expected it a little bigger but would still recommend the experience.

It was truly amazing. It is interesting that it is just a part of a huge mall. Even if you dont intend to spend your money on the whole experience, it is still interesting to just stand around and look a ciuple of minutes from outside. The tube on the buttom is cool, and the mini-zoo above it was a nice little addition. It is a good hour or two break during shopping.

It's and additional cost of 20dhs from Normal charge which is too expensive.

The aquarium really isn't much of an aquarium and the zoo is pretty small. There are a few additional money traps as add-ons but aren't really worth the price in my opinion. Loved this Aquarium! The Ultimate Experience ticket was well worth the extra few dollars. In particular the ride in the glass bottomed boat, the behind the scenes talk and feeding the fish (gross but fun!) were memories to treasure. I was really disappointed about this treat because I bought everything I could for me and my family, and this was the most expected experience and it was awful. Really worth going to when in Dubai! Downgraded a star due to paying for the photos in the penguin meet and greet but the files were corrupted on the flash drive and the photographer never emailed the photos like he said he would, so currently 600AED down without the photos we paid for. It's kid friendly and wheelchair friendly for just one floor, there's more on the next level but for that you need to take stairs. Great for kids. Very informative and beautiful. It's a bit of a mission and lots of waiting for things. It wasnt a smooth flowing walk through. But very pretty fish tanks and ideas.

Really enjoyed this attraction. The tanks all look great and some are massive. The fish are in very good condition and there are a great variety of fish. When we went (Oct 2023) it wasn't very busy and it was easy to get to the tanks to see the fish. We also didn't think this was too expensive. All in all a good way to spend an hour or so.

One of the great aquarium with proper maintenance. Only issue in underwater aquarium is low light which was very low and dark environment. The planted tanks and other aquariums were good. One must see this.

A really amazingly maintained Aquarium in Dubai , there are a lot of marine species there. Also when you visit, please take note of the feeding times, so that your young ones will enjoy it the most. The program to feed the penguins was really good.

Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is home to thousands of aquatic animals, comprising over 140 species. Over 400 Sharks and Rays live in our 10 million litre tank, including Sand Tiger Sharks, Giant Groupers, and a host of other marine species. A series of carefully designed experiences will allow our visitors to come face to face with our aquatic residents for memorable moments with friends and family. The aquarium is a lovely way to spend a few hours.

It's a beautiful unique experience, very conveniently located but I wish it was bigger, I felt like the trip ended to soon or maybe I was enjoying myself too much. one of the staff there (Ester) went above and beyond explaining eveything and her patients with the kids was amazing. I wish I could have thanked her in-person. Highly recommended for all adults and kids.

It's overhyped to an extent.... The fishes that are visible from outside is the only underwater experience remaining inside there is nothing worthy to watch except for if you have never been to an aquarium before. It's overcrowded or the space is too small... Genuine advice: don't waste your money, enjoy from outside 👍🏻

A very long lineup given it’s weekend. Love to see fish, stingrays, sharks swimming harmoniously with each other. I’ve been to Antarctica to see penguins wandering in free lands and it’s a bit sad to see them in confined space.

OTTER 🦦 EXPERIENCE! Just fantastic! I brought my grown sons, it was the BEST! We have been to the aquarium many of times, but never the otter experience! We couldn’t get enough. Precious & so fun for any & all ages ! And you get to hold hands with them as well :)
