Overall we enjoyed the aquarium. I was a big fan of the indoor plant observatory. The sea creatures were really cool to see - you can walk up and pet sting rays. I wish there was a shallower part of the tank so you wouldn't have to stick you whole arm in the water. The food stand was super expensive - I wouldn't plan on purchasing food there if I were you. The location outside was very pretty - right on the river. Gives off a great breeze.

A great aquarium! It took us about an hour and a half to get through the whole aquarium. We loved the Amazon, and the hand on tank. The penguins and otters were a fun and exciting surprise. My children's favorite part of the aquarium was the hands on touching of sharks and sting rays. There was a very active sting ray pup that my boys just loved! Restrooms were spacious, clean and great.

Umm guys I dont know how fast you were running through that thing 30 mins is crazy??? . My family and I took about two hours. Although it is a little small it’s worth it. Me and my three children, 18, 15, and 10 years all enjoyed it. The exhibits were very cute and all the animals seemed well adjusted. They even had a little drawing center where kids can go online or use ipads they provide and draw their own fish. If anyone is looking for something to take the family or even just by yourself this is definitely a cute the place to go.

Not a bad aquarium. 80 bucks for 2 adults and 2 years old. That’s not bad. Somehow disappointed because a bit small? There are some nice feature like the possibility to touch the sting ray. All the people working over there are great! Good place to spend 1 or 2 hours.

This was one of the most stunning and educational aquariums I've ever visited... Well worth the visit. They are doing a great job maintaining a safe environment for all and following Covid protocols. Plan to be here for several hours touring each different habitat. The shark exhibit was mesmerizing but the beluga whales were also fun to watch. This is a must-visit if you're in Atlanta. I recommend getting everything, including the parking pass, online beforehand to save time!

It's a nice place but I'll be honest It's not my favorite aquarium. My tour of this place was pretty short. When you visit I recommend checking the Albino alligator exhibit. It was fascinating learning about them. Overall I'd say this is a good place to take your kids. They would love it. My time there it was more family and kids. I personally wouldn't recommend to go you as solo or group of adults unless you love aquariums. This location I truly feel like it's more geared toward kids to explore.

Yeah. Here it is. Three stars for Sea animals that Audubon Aquarium of the Americas have, clear water for them to live and to attract more tourist from all over the world. And, for their friendly staffs. It's just the photos (for two) they're actually selling for $30 bucks up at the second floor after they took a picture of you at the ground. Tickets are actually quite expensive, why are you guys offer (even a picture) for free instead of selling to your customer? Anyway, It's amazing for you to capture the moments what can't others do of what we had here in New Orleans. Great background for pictures. This place is for kids and for those who are sea animal lover, not for the 90s and up. 😁✌️🤟

Would like to see more exotic items there if possible but the value for the money is decent. Everyone was nice and friendly. Plus we had the opportunity to see the feeding in the large tank and sting rays which was cool.

**Look for deals to buy tickets with aquarium or zoo, can get them 2 for the price of one! Much more worth it!** Aquarium was cool! Was clean, easy to navigate, very kid friendly, with great animal selection from fish, sharks, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and a few mammals! One sad part is most the staff were pretty short or rude. I understand a lot of people come through, but friendliness goes a long way! Parking was about $54 for 4 hours which seemed a little pricey, but that is the city rather than aquarium.

Let me start off with Wilbert who sold us our tickets! He was amazing! He gave me 4 quarters for my dollar for squished pennies in the museum! He started off making this experience great and it only got better! This was a fabulous and adventurous experience! We got to touch sting rays and watched them feed the penguins. The large tank at the end was my favorite. Great for all ages! Purchase your tickets in advance to avoid standing outside for a long time & get there early. We arrived 30 min prior to doors opening and we were second in line and by the time they opened they lines were around the building. I’m not saying anything but just GO!!

First off, Great Aquarium… I am a local, been going to this Aquarium for years. Excellent tanks, pretty fish, lots of fun exhibits to interact with. Except this most recent trip was a completely different experience. The staff, in general(the ones we encountered), were quite rude. A few of their good exhibits are closed and the ones that were open, had SO many people, It became almost claustrophobic. When you first enter the doors of aquarium, the staff did nothing to space groups out. When one in our party tried to have a conversation with an employee to address our “ticket reservation” and noted time-slot, the aquarium employee abruptly called security and security sadly escorted the 8 of us out. Told us we weren’t welcome anymore and that refunds would not be given. We left quite upset… I’m leaving ⭐️⭐️ because I still enjoy the animals and it’s not their fault…

Not too huge aquarium. Beautiful display of both local and exotic ecosystems. A massive tank full of sharks, rays and chunky fish! Also a tunnel and lots of tiny tanks. We loved the Aztec themed portion.

Was a great place to enjoy with the kids. $35.95 per ticket Online. Was worth it. $12 parking on their garage. Should be complementary with the aquarium ticket. I found FREE parking on the street. (Due to Covid19, the city is not charging parking at the moment). Crowded (I went on the last 2 hours of the day), but people try to keep distance, others don't care much. All ages recommended. The views are amazing, well planned. Would definitely come back if visiting Atlanta again.

Nice aquarium. Not very large. It can be done in less than an hour if you're not careful. But there are some very neat enclosures. It does a great job of showing local ecosystems and aquatic species. Things you probably won't find at many other aquariums. Very well designed in that you won't have to wonder if you saw everything. Pretty much just follows a path over two levels and as you walk through there's nothing you'll struggle to see.

I see this aquarium is being updated. Not sure how it could get better… we loved our visit here. We found activities that would be fun for teenagers and us adults that are young at heart! Our kids had a great time. The otters were hilarious. I love anything ocean related. One daughter made friends with a huge grouper (I think) that followed her around. She finally just sat down next to it. It was hilarious. Can’t wait to come back and see the new renovations as I’m already giving it 5 stars. Friendly staff and knowledgeable. Thank y’all for a great visit!

We enjoyed the AC as we escaped the hot, humid New Orleans weather. The kids enjoyed looking at all of the exhibits. It is easier and quicker to buy the tickets online than waiting to get them there. On the weekend, it was crowded, but not too packed.

Decided to come here as a treat to my inner child and enjoyed myself! The aquarium was easy to find and within walking distance from my hotel. I arrived around 130PM and paid $35 for a single entry ticket. You enter the aquarium on the second floor and there’s so many different creatures to see! My favorite were the penguins and watching them get fed was a sweet treat. I also enjoyed seeing the many fishes, turtles, and jellyfish! The aquarium wasn’t overly packed at time I went and wish I could’ve stopped to see the insects as well. You’ll have the opportunity to purchase your photo that was initially taken (which is a little pricey) and exit through the gift shop. Overall, it was sweet experience!

Was happy to see this back open! This was relaxing and nice to see. It doesn't take long to walk through as it wasn't crowded at all when we went, which was during the week. Not sure what the weekend traffic looks like.. Kiddos will enjoy it. Try to interact with the stingrays, that was pretty cool... watch out.. you may or may not get splashed ☺️!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the aquarium! Our kids, ages 10, 8, and 5 had a great time, especially touching the stingrays. We happened to be walking through around 1:00, which was feeding time for one of the exhibits, so that was cool. We also got to see the stingrays fed at 1:30, which was fun. Overall, it's a great aquarium and worth the visit.

Even after all the grade school field trips this place never gets old even now in my late 30s.I like all the subtle upgrades over the years and every exhibit brings back great memories. Every staff member I encountered were very helpful and they made sure all of the safety protocols were being followed making sure people had masks (even providing disposable ones)and providing directrion to the hand sanitizer stations. The sting ray petting area was a great experience and my favorite section with the Gulf of Mexico was a great piece of nostalgia for me. I never get sick of this place no matter what.

Very clean, very enjoyable. Lots of information on all fish etc. Really cool exhibit of Mayan Indians. Best of all it wasn't crowded. We arrived around 3pm. The gift shop was stocked with plenty of goodies to choose from, both of them. One is on the second floor. I bought membership for the year, and it included 10% off in everything we purchased.

Buying tickets online is definitely cheaper by line $5!! Plus you don’t have to wait in line. They offer to take you a photo at the entrance. It was pretty crowded but we looked through all the exhibits and it’s was so interesting. When looking at the stingrays the young man was so kind and helpful.

A huge aquarium with so many attractions that I have never seen anywhere else! I loved the whale sharks and beluga whales!! We will definitely be back in the future. Also, they take the COVID-19 social distancing and mask wearing very seriously, which my husband and I appreciated. It's nice to be able to see/do something during the virus without feeling as if you are having to compromise safety!

Probably a little too many people for most peoples comfort at the moment. But it sure is a lot of fun. The new shark exhibit is creepy and exciting. My favorite are the sea dragons. Also don't forget to check out the alligators they are a bit hidden and another top pick. Food is not so great with limited selection, but plenty of great choices once you leave around the area. But all around you will have an amazing time as long as its not way too crowded.

Let me start by saying... make a reservation. Check the schedule, they are closed on certain days. We visited the aquarium and had a great time... its not a huge place, but, they have a little bit of everything. I was so very happy, there were penguins and stingrays and sharks and macaws and jellies... omg so beautiful!! It was great! If you are trying to find something to do inside for a couple hours, this is definitely worth it!

Pretty awesome experience right on the river. It was within easy walking distance of the main hotels on Canal street and reasonable ticket prices. It was a bit smaller than we expected, you can easily walk through and see everything in an hour and that's with time to linger at your favorite exhibit. They did have an amazing gator that is one of the rarest types, only found in Southern Louisiana.

A really expensive ticket for such a small amount of marine exhibits, but they're beautiful and abundant with life. I did like seeing the aquarium include information about human effects on the ocean. Even incorporating it into exhibits. Fun, but may get pricey if you are bringing a whole family.

This is a great aquarium! It took us about an hour and a half to get through it. We loved the penguins, as we got to watch and listen to the very knowledgeable staff during feeding time. We enjoyed being able to touch the stingrays. The sharks tank as well as the jellyfish were very interesting and impressive. We didn’t get anything from the food court but heard it was expensive. If you’re visiting NOLA, I would recommend visiting this aquarium.

Absolutely the best place ever!!! A couple of the areas were closed for improvement, but that was a very small portion of this HUGE and powerful place! Whether you are there to play with penguins, "pet" the sting ray's, look at birds from afar, or see all the different sea life... you won't be short of visual happiness! From turtles, to sharks, and neon fish in between... Gators, snakes, and jellyfish are seen!! Parking was not a far walk (35 for 5 hours is steep, but doable). If you are local don't forget to be a tourist in your city once in a while, it's magical.

I'm absolutely IN LOVE with the new aquarium/insectarium. I especially loved the insect-infused confections! The Audubon Aquarium (and Insectarium) is a wonderful tourist attraction in the heart of NOLA. It was a wonderful and educational experience to share with the family. It took us a total of 2 hours to get through both the Aquarium and Insectarium. Some changes such as the inclusion of a toddler play place are nice additions. We were sad to see the otters go as well as the seahorses and several frogs. It's also really sad to see that the tree walk has been removed. That element was our kids favorite part. I understand it's probably so that more birds could be added but it is still disappointing nonetheless.

Purchased aquarium only tickets and was honestly a little disappointed. A few things were still closed and not much variety. I was excited to see they renovated but most of the fish tanks had the same fish in them, just different location. Stingray experience and jellyfish were cool, but I would have rather used the money and driven to Biloxi aquarium to see more. Also $5 for a small water bottle…

The Audubon Aquarium in New Orleans is a charming destination, ideal for a two-hour visit filled with fascinating aquatic exploration. This moderate-sized aquarium is perfectly tailored for a shorter visit, ensuring you can enjoy all its features without feeling rushed. A standout attraction here is the bayou fish exhibit. It beautifully showcases the diverse aquatic life native to Louisiana, offering a unique glimpse into the ecosystem of the region's bayous. This exhibit is not only visually appealing but also educational, making it a hit with both kids and adults. Despite its smaller scale compared to larger aquariums, the Audubon Aquarium impresses with its well-maintained exhibits and thoughtful layout. The staff's friendliness and expertise add to the experience, providing insightful information and engaging interactions for visitors of all ages. This aquarium is a fantastic choice for families, especially those with children. The size and variety of exhibits are just right for younger visitors, holding their attention and sparking curiosity about marine life. Pretty small aquarium and not worth the price ($25 for a child and $30 for adults - no re-entry). Even though we took our time exploring we were in and out in 45 minutes. We also felt the exhibits were small and slighty depressing for the animals with lots of fake coral/sea grass/sea weed in the tanks. They also had a beautiful hawk that was tied to a post up in the rainforest section which was kinda sad to see, but we did enjoy seeing the macaws (they were not tied up). We went bc we had our 4yo daughter with us and wanted something kid friendly to do in NOLA, otherwise we would not recommend for the price and exhibit quality. Staff, however, were friendly, helpful and aquarium was clean and is doing a good job adhering to social distancing guidelines.

The building makes the place look much larger than it is. You can see the whole thing in under an hour. Concessions are outrageous. $3 for a can of soda. $8 for a cup of lemonade. It was somewhat interesting. They have sharks and jellyfish and cute otters. Just wish there had been more bang for my buck. $30 for adults and $24 for children and seniors.

Very well organized with scheduled admissions and easy to follow layout. Smaller then other aquariums but packed with amazing exhibits.

We spontaneously stopped by here to stretch our legs during a long road trip and enjoyed it. They have some very nice aquariums, although there isn't a whole lot. We walked it in under 30 minutes with a toddler. Not a big deal. We enjoyed everything, especially the sharks. The gift shop also had a big selection and we walked out with shirts and mugs. I can't give 5 stars because the cost was pretty outrageous for what you see. On top of that, the parking was very expensive. Maybe it would have been worth it if we had also visited the malls in the same area. Overall we had a good experience!

  • 4/5 JoAnn J. 3 years ago on Google
While not huge, it was a nice sized aquarium. They have a set up that allows you to flow from area to area. Nice variety. Staff was friendly &helpful.

  • 3/5 Nicole B. 3 years ago on Google
The tanks were full of swamp like water. Getting pictures was very difficult because they were so dirty. As far as aquariums go, I liked the variety, I just wish they had more interactive components. I'm not sure if it was closed down due to covid-19 but nothing was available. Well, aside from a $400 penguin pass.

A really great place to go and see some aquatic life. There are a few exhibits that are presently closed due to Covid-19 but still a very positive experience. They also change things up from time to time, different animals, different exhibits, different events. It's great to check out during those times or when there are special occasions so it is worth coming here a few times a year. I love fish, and noticed there were not many crustacean or amphibian exhibits (I can't recall any crustaceans in fact).

I'm a little biased because we have a fairly nice aquarium in my hometown, so lets just get that out of the way. This charge of entry for two people was around 60-65$ which seemed a little steep to me for what was there. The aquarium does have some good exhibits though and is worth checking out - some below. Jellyfish, Sharks, Rays, Penguins, Sea Otters Tropical Exhibit Mississippi Exhibit Underwater tunnel/walkway Swim adventure in the water Touch pools for kids

Other than visiting The Downtown Aquarium in Houston against my will, I had no interest in aquariums in general. When I stopped New Orleans during my gulf coast road trip, I was impressed by the building design and thought I should try giving this aquarium a try. I was glad I did. It's a steep entrance fee, but it's well worth it. The exhibits are well designed, interesting and creative. It's a photographer's paradise. Honestly it's what kept me here. Lots of vibrant colors and designs. Sure the fish are cool too. If you have the chance to visit, do yourself a favor and reserve a spot.

Pretty decent right now, all things considered. Most concessions are closed and the in house food left much to be desired, wouldn't recommend. Some of the exhibits are closed, including the birds. But they just opened a new escape room (a little pricey) and they're moving the insectarium there soon. I will definitely return, but they need more events.

We waited for a while in line, but we didn't realize tickets needed to be purchased in advance. Since many of the attractions are closed, we walked through fairly quickly. When we attempted to walk around a second time, staff seemed to have an issue with it. They allowed us to, but it seemed like we were very rushed. For the price, you should be able to look at the attractions as long as you'd like.

The Georgia Aquarium was a great experience! My wife and I spent the entire day there and it was definitely worth it. Parking is actually quite convenient, although it was odd keeping the ticket with you instead of with the car. The walkway from the garage to the Aquarium is covered, which was an added bonus. All of the exhibits were amazing, and as you can expect, the whale shark exhibit was pretty awesome. Lunch at the cafe is expensive, but definitely worth the price due to its convenience. The 4D experience was pretty much a joke, so I wouldn't recommend wasting your time with that. All of the other exhibits were pretty great though. If we go back to Atlanta, we will definitely stop by again!

  • 4/5 A W. 3 years ago on Google
My daughter's really enjoyed their visit. If you don't purchase additional events, the tour can go really fast! Our reservation time was 1:30 and we were done before 3:00. They enforced social distancing really well. We will visit again.

Excellent. We came with smaller kids (5 and under), and had a great time. Everyone was wearing masks and aquarium was well kept. We all enjoyed the exhibits, especially the shark area. Very family friendly vibe. Would return again.

Lots of people but most of the staff were great! Several staff members were cleaning rails and hand-touched surfaces constantly, EXCEPT for the tables in the Cafe area. We ended up covering the table with napkins as we couldn't find anyone to clean it. Cafe staff was less than concerned. Staggered entry times meant the wait at the gate wasn't long at all, BUT we waited almost 20 minutes for an elevator from the parking lot. There should be a way for disabled persons to have elevator priority when no more than one family can enter an elevator. Next time we'll try to call for a shuttle. Overall they did a great job trying to accommodate for these crazy COVID times we're living in! Exhibits were beautifully designed and well-staffed. Will visit again!

This was absolutely the best experience every. It's my second time being here with my husband who took me here on our first date back in 2014. I only went again this time because they added the sharks exhibit which was so awesome. The way they are handling social distancing and hand sanitizer stations set up at every station is perfect. I went on 2/06/21 after spending over $200 on tickets. I was under the impression that we could only reserve dolphin tickets once we arrived. When we got there all the dolphin show tickets were sold out until 5 hours later. They should have had it where you can reserve seats prior to your arrival without having to pay additional for something that’s normally included already. Social distancing was not a thing, the lines were still completely long regardless of the timed tickets and the amount of people that were allowed in the building is ridiculous.

Absolutely stunning life changing experience I reccomend everyone does at least once in their life! Very handicap friendly and elder friendly. When taking my 70 year old grandmother there today I noticed all the benches that made her trip there easier on her to take breaks at her liberty since there was a place to sit in literally every exhibit. The staff are all SO well informed and answer all questions you have. I love going and will continue to do so over the years. Very worth the price of a ticket. And the gift shop plushies are reasonably priced! Conservation is a big deal to them and it shows how passionate they are about informing the public about our beautiful oceans and how important it is to preserve them!

Great experience, but the whole walk through all the exhibit was barely more than an hour. The kids absolutely loved it so that was worth it. I was a little put off that they tied up the birds in the mississippi exhibit. I understand, of course, but still sucks to be that bird

It's a great time and my son loves it. But it costs more than the zoo tickets and it's a lot smaller than the zoo trip. Again it's not that it's bad. I'm just disappointed in paying more for less.

Went with my husband while visiting New Orleans. It was fun, clean, and there weren't too many people. Plenty of hand sanitizer stations and arrows to direct "traffic".

Overpriced...I also didn’t appreciate that we had to walk practically around the whole building to purchase tickets at a separate office and go back to main entrance that had a box office open but only handled annual members. It becomes quite an issue when you have little ones and it’s cold and rainy. Alit of areas were closed and or under construction and social distancing was not enforced.

Great place to visit! Very nice exhibits and layout. Lots of things to do to keep you busy. Added the behind the seas pass. You go to the top of three of the tanks. Was worth it as the guide is very knowledgeable and we were lucky to see some of the trainers in action. Definitely visit if you are in the area!

We love this aquarium. We have made 4 or 5 visits to this aquarium and have never had a bad one. Each time, we saw and enjoyed things that we did not get to before! Every visit holds new memories. It is personally my favorite aquarium that I have ever been to. I love that they offer dinning options on site, because we easily spend an entire day each time we visit. I was sad to see that they changed the original height requirement to the shark cage swimming to an age requirement, but I do understand.

We always have a great time at the aquarium. This time we went to celebrate my husband's birthday and check out the new Shark Exhibit. Everyone was very friendly and wished my husband Happy Birthday. The shark exhibit wasn't as big as U thought it would be but my husband, who is a shark fanatic, was thrilled with the fact that he got a to see a hammerhead so close. We both had a great time!

We had a great time. If you get food make sure you ask for it to be cooked fresh we paid $56 dollars for 3 ppl and all of it was hard as a rock the waffles that came with the chicken were garbage (dried out like cement) . They did remake it but for that price it should've been right the first time.

The georgia aquarium is one of my favorite places in the world! I was nervous to go during COVID but they are doing an amazing job of limiting the number of visitors allowed, ensuring mask wearing, and ensuring social distancing. Sadly, but understandably, all the touch pools were closed. I would highly recommend going to the aquarium while their COVID safety practices are in place because you can get even closer to all the animals!

I have visited this aquarium since I was a small child. I've always loved all the exhibits, displays, and activities. My experiences have always been positive and fun. Normally my review for any Audubon facility would be 5 stars. However, on my most recent trip there were so many people that you could barely get by without brushing against someone. I expected better from Audubon. Covid-19 precautions were not being enforced. Several people were not wearing a mask, while many others had it under their noses. There were many children (over the age of 5-6) also not wearing masks. I witnessed several employees walk right past these situations and say nothing. Like I said previously, I have visited dozens of times but I have never seen this amount of people at the aquarium at one time. Please take the safety of your city and customers seriously. I hold Audubon in high regards. Do better.

The experience wasn't bad, but definitely wasn't the best I've seen. The staff is friendly and the general atmosphere in the building was fantastic. The Rainforest section was spectacular! The biggest issue I had was that the tanks were very underwhelming compared to the scenery around them. I've seen Petsmart tanks look more appealing than some of these (especially the two frog tanks in the river section). The decor of the building should not be the focal point of an aquarium. Its also quite short but I don't really blame them there. Overall, it was just kinda disappointing. Ps. The hawk was trying to thrash away from the perch it was tied to and it seemed to bonk itself multiple times. That was very uncomfortable and everyone around us seemed to be equally confused and taken aback. Birds aren't my specialty but that was weird.

I mean, it didn't feel too COVID safe and we went through this aquarium in 30 minutes. It was packed, but we were still able to see it all at a leisurely pace in 30 minutes. Also locally, residents of neighboring cities and villages visit it periodically with love. Especially nice is its location next to the Mississippi River - you can see the magnificent bridge, moorings for pleasure boats and large ships. There are also parking lots nearby and cafes along the river. In general, visitors have several pleasant events at once - this is a shelter from the scorching sun in Louisiana and a pleasant pastime. Never had this bad of an experience here. 3 people got chased down or stopped and told to wear their mask properly buuuuut several people around us didn't have masks on at all. I don't mind wearing a mask but if their going to be strict then be strict with the people right next to me without masks at all. Plus we all had masks on just not to their specifications. Took us about 20 minutes to walk through the whole aquarium because most things were closed for work or whatever. Not worth the money right now but maybe after the restrictions it will be better🤷‍♀️

This was a fun way to spend 1.5 hours. The tanks are very clean and well laid out. We thought it was going to be bigger than it was, but still fun. The only part we weren't huge fans of was the own and the falcon being tethered by a VERY short leash.

Very well themed aquarium with distinct sections mostly featuring north and south America. Perfect for families and casual tourists who want turtles, rays, penguins, otters, sharks but does lack a variety of fish exhibits that would make it on par with the best of the best. Did enjoy my visit and the ticket price helps a good cause and conservation. Only weird thing is you are forced to take a picture when you walk in, so they can try selling it to you. I've been to tons of zoo's, aquariums and amusement parks and have never had a problem bypassing this. I don't want a photo lol. The lady at the front told me she is supposed to take everyone's and seemed terrified she would get in trouble if she didn't. I took the photo cause she doesn't make the rules, but it does concern me that management might be a little crazy here. I hope this gets sorted out because employees deserve to feel comfortable in the workplace.

  • 4/5 Deepak O. 2 years ago on Google
Not the biggest aquarium, but respectable for its diversity of echo systems. The tanks have a broad swath of different fish types. There are also various birds throughout the aquarium which was interesting. Some of the tanks seemed a bit dirty and many of the fish were not labeled or at least the labels were not anywhere I could find. None the less worth the visit.

OMG! This aquarium is a must visit in NOLA! I was not expecting it to be as awesome as it was. There is a touch pool with Sting Rays, and the Rainforest exhibit is awesome too. Let my photos do the talking and then go visit!

  • 4/5 Aubrey L. 2 years ago on Google
This was a great place to go visit. If you have a couple of hours to spare or go on a rainy day. They have a great penguin exhibit and a very nice sting ray touch pool. If you time it right you can watch the keepers (not sure of the proper term is) feed the animals and ask questions.

  • 4/5 Elizabeth B. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful aquarium but small. Usually we get through it within an hour. Prices are a bit obnoxious, before membership it was roughly $80 for 3 of us (1 child) and a baby. The otter cam and rainforest areas are fun. My kid likes standing on the circles and seeing down into the sharks. I wish they had an octopus as that's all he asks for when we go.

  • 4/5 Jae C. 2 years ago on Google
To me, this is just like any ordinary aquarium. There wasn’t anything specific that stood out to make me go oh wow! The scuba diver feeding the sting rays was cool, but isn’t anything spectacular. I will say that children absolutely love it.

  • 5/5 Danielle D. 2 years ago on Google
Very worth the money and the time. They have a local wildlife section with catfish and owls and other birds. They have a piranha exhibit! The penguins come right up to the glass! I loved the stingray hands-on exhibit. And right across from the stingrays are so many seahorses! They also have sea otters! At the end of the walkthrough of the aquarium is One of the best glass walls I have seen for viewing a large aquarium like this. So many sharks so many huge fish. As well as a sea turtle!

  • 5/5 Anthony G. 2 years ago on Google
A large aquarium containing a wide variety of animals. I went early in the day and was able to catch some of the exhibited creatures asleep. There are also a handful of species of birds, most of which are not aquatic. I highly recommend it as a family activity. There are multiple gift shops offering a wide variety of memorabilia.

  • 3/5 Farhana S. 1 year ago on Google
Compared to all other aquariums this one had less kids during noon when I visited. It would take barely an hr to see around the whole aquarium. Unusually They had two macaws, one owl, and a small tropical trees area. They had lots of sting rays. Didn’t see any large seal or many penguins compared to other places. Ticket was $32 & I didn’t feel it was worth the cost. Anyway the aquarium was aesthetically more beautiful compared to other ones. And I enjoyed the outside ferry ride more than the aquarium itself!!

  • 5/5 William G. 2 years ago on Google
If your in New Orleans, don't pass this up. The one walk through tank make it worth the stop, but there is much much more. It's has several different environments on display. Excellent for kids as well as adults. The penguins and otters are awesome. The manta ray tank is great as well. You can touch them as they travel around the tank and are very accustomed to human interaction. The Parakeet point was closed when we were there. It's supposed to re open in March of 2021. Expect to spend a few hours here.

  • 5/5 Taylor A. 2 years ago on Google
Such a fun trip! While the ticket cost was a little high, in my eyes, it was worth it. We walked around the aquarium twice to make sure we got to see everything. Highlight of the trip was the touch pool where you can touch a stingray or see the staff feed them! It was also fun to see their white alligator and to keep an eye out for their small number of resident birds.

  • 4/5 RR M. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely place to go in family and see beautiful sea creatures. Sadly when we went there were two installations closed which they don't inform you before hand so the aquarium seems a bit small. We saw it completely in less than 40 minutes, probably half an hour. For this, I consider the entrance fee it's a bit expensive but knowing it goes to the care of the animals makes it bearable.

  • 3/5 Tru W. 1 year ago on Google
It's ok. I did enjoy the seahorses and jellyfish. Aquarium was smaller than I would have liked but it was alright.

  • 3/5 John M. 1 year ago on Google
The aquarium itself was pretty good, the exhibits as well as some of the informative boards, technology discussing the animals. I thought $32 for an adult was steep and there were three of us. Since it was veterans appreciation week I got in free and others 50% off so that was good. Don't go there hungry as it took some time to get food from the snack bar, not well organized.

  • 4/5 Paul P. 10 months ago on Google
Nothing fairly exotic, or a food court. But the insectatium was good. And if you like to eat bugs you can get a good serving as well. Also, I never been to aquarium that served beer before. Rather enjoyable. Penguins we’re behind glass, which was also great (unless you like the smell of them)

The lady at the door who let's you in.. Mrs. DEBBIE which I had to ask for her name quietly to not make a scene like she did to me.. EMABARRASSED ME IN FRONT OF A HUNDRED STRANGERS. MY FAMILY HAD TO WAIT FOR ME TO PUT ON A tee shirt over my outfit. She held the door up and watched me. I have the date and time and the incident can be found on camera. What she did was discriminate. I was wearing a complete outfit made to comfortably walk around in by Nike. I had a long sleeve shirt in 1008 degree weather shirt tied around my waist as well. This lady allowed girls to wear far less than me. Overall they had a shooting which stopped us from attending at the time we had arrived. The auditorium was Way over populated for the animals. And the insectarium was actually pretty amazing as well as if you can try a bug or not they are picky about who gets a free sample.

  • 5/5 Christopher W. 10 months ago on Google
Amazing day. A little packed, but plenty to see. They've merged the insectarium with the aquarium. Price is excellent. I paid around $60 for everything (aquarium, insectarium, and zoo).

  • 5/5 Allyson C. 9 months ago on Google
You can tell they put a lot of thought into the renovations that happened at the aquarium. The Insectarium is SO cool. They have a virtual reality area where it feels like you’re feeding sharks, which is awesome. It does cost money, but I can’t remember exactly how much. Also, they have a little play area for kids which was awesome so my husband and I could relax for a minute and get a snack while our kiddo played. Our toddler loved the entire place & we will definitely be going back soon.

  • 5/5 Rachel S. 9 months ago on Google
This is a great aquarium! (Recently redone) I love that it has a ton of stuff to see but not too much that you feel overwhelmed and like you're missing things. It's a straight show and if you follow the path you get to see everything. My kids loved petting the rays and seeing the penguins and the otters. Also, if you're in New Orleans in the summer, this is the perfect activity to beat the eat. I wish we had known you can buy a combo pack with the insectarium

This is one of the best aquariums I've been to. They have so many exhibits. There is a sting ray exhibit where you can pet them. We also got to see the penguins fed, which was pretty entertaining.

Must do if you are in New orleans. Nice Aquarium to visit with kids. Not too crowded. Can spend 3 hrs at Max. Sting rays were fun. Kids loved Penguin views. It's walkable if you are staying close to the french quarter area.

Not the biggest and best aquarium in the world, but so cool to have this in NOLA. They have a good collection and you can get an add-on ticket to see the Insectarium, which is also very cool. A bit pricey, but I imagine it costs a lot to take care of all of those creatures. A wonderful place to spend a hot afternoon!

We went to both the insectarium and the aquarium. It was very expensive. $35 for each exhibit or $50 for both exhibits per adult. It was over $100 just to get in for 2 adults. It's $30 between the ages of two and 12. Under the age of 2 it's free. So if you're wondering, anyone over the age 12 has to pay adult prices also. I would suggest just go for the enjoyment and experience and bundle the exhibits, it's a little cheaper. We got to see everything and we took our time, which took about an hour and a half. Once you exit each exhibit, you have to walk through the gift shops and yes they are expensive. We checked out the eating area/menu and decided we would wait. All in all it was a nice experience, we're just wondering would we do it again, that is the question ⁉️

It was my first time at the Audubon Aquarium, and I had a great time. Learning about all the different kinds of underwater species and seeing a seaturtle and how big they really are and being able to touch a stingray, I felt like a little kid experiencing it all. I will be back there again

It was a little expensive but was a good overall experience. Very nice presentation of the animals, aquatic, avian, ND a random sloth. It was nice to see the caretakers interact with the animals and feed them and swim amongst them. There is also a separate part of the building, dealing with insect life, but that is also another $30 per person, and I did not do that part of the building due to lack of interest and time restraints. Overall, I spent about 1 hour in the aquarium.

Small aquarium that has room to expand. There are opportunities for adding activities and learning for kids or the adult kid. The exhibits are good and clean, but it does seem as if some of the animals/fish are labeled to be in an exhibit but show up in a later exhibit. Anyrate, it's a great place to get out of any weather and learn a little about aquatic life.

Excellent venue. Enjoyed the aquarium for the types of animals available and I was there when they fed the sharks, nice. Several different attractions to enjoy.

Being this close to a large body of water I was hoping for more of a diverse gathering of aquatic life. No otters, no dolphins, no killer whales... But I did enjoy the sea life they did have. I've always loved marine animals!
