Amazing! My kids loved it. It is a lot bigger than you'd expect and almost all interactive. I love that you dont have to purchase to touch most of the animals (you do have the option to pay to feed them though). We went with 7 children (ages 5-14) and all had a great time. I don't even think I took picture of half of the things the kids experienced. Will definitely go again.

Very good place for unique animal encounters. Feed an octopus, pet a kinkajou or a groundhog. Step inside a lemurs cage and more. It is not so big that you need a lot of time, but just enough to make it enjoyable. Be warned that midway through the aquarium, you will walk through an arcade/game area. It may be hard to get kids away from the games long enough to enjoy the rest of the aquarium.

Terrible aquarium in poor repair and not setup well. Its basically a petting zoo. Tokens for feeding the animals sold at almost every animal enclosure. Animals seems starved and fighting over food from guests. Smelled bad. Kids appeared to be having fun touching the animals, but this really doesn't seem like a good situation for the animals. There were lots of birds and reptiles too...not just fish.

Pretty fun place! Kids had a blast and us adults too. The bird feeding was an unforgettable experience. Especially with the peacock. We got to feed turtles and Iguanas. To me the aquarium part is lacking. Only stingrays and a few small fish/sharks and that's all. More Land animals. But petting the stingrays was awesome and overall experience worth it. We paid $45 for a family of 4 (50% off) through Groupon so check there 1st!!

The San Antonio Aquarium is my youngest grandson’s favorite place to visit. He loves all of the interactions with the animals, especially feeding the fish, jumping in the ball pit, running and jumping in the bouncy castles, petting and feeding some of the animals, and playing the arcade games. If he had his way, he would go to this aquarium every weekend as he frequently asks to do so. He does not tire of going here. We love seeing the excitement on his face when he finds out he’s going to be taken here. He does not want to leave here until he has worn himself out with a good time visiting. We will definitely bring him here again and would certainly recommend you come to this aquarium.

Every time we go we're always excited but once we go the disappointment sets in. Personally if I go once a yr then I'm good but more than that is too much. Here are some pros and cons of going: Pros: ---------- Up close animal encounters. (Can get really good pics) Educational programs Staff/zookeepers are super friendly, they'll answer all your questions. 2 finger petting rule Almost all of it is indoor Cons: --------- Pricey No viewing/petting/visitor feeding times for animals. (constantly stressed out) therefore anyone can walk in at any time (with a staff member) to feed/pet/sit in the enclosure with them. Animals don't have enough hiding spots --------------------------------- photography done by: Evalyn

I visited the aquarium with my daughter last week during our vacation in San Antonio. I have to say it was a lifetime experience. It's more than an aquarium. All the animal encounters are worth it. It's a place for the whole family to enjoy. But, I have to highlight that our experience was PRICELESS thanks to one of the employees. His name is Edward. I've never seen someone so passionate, knowledgeable and willing to always do a little more in order to make the whole experience unique. My daughter has special needs (therefore, all her senses are hypersensitive). I didn't mention that to him, but he made the impossible with her. She ended up interacting with many animals and her smile was the best part of that day. I'll treasure these memories forever. Thanks to Edward.

This was my daughters first time going to an aquarium! And she love it! She loved being interactive with all the animals! You will definitely not be bored in this place! It was definitely a great experience for the both of us. The staff was very knowledgeable about all the animals. We will definitely come back when we come back to town !

Don't go here expecting a top notch aquarium itself. Though it isn't a big place, this is a different experience, not like most other aquariums we've been to. There is a variety of animals and more interactive experiences! You can go into a good amount of the areas and interact with the animals and purchase tokens to feed them. They also have additional play time activities and games to entertain kids - like bounce houses and an arcade, which we didn't do. But if you are looking for something different and to take up time, there's plenty here.

It was larger than it appeared from the road and from what I had initially believed once we entered. The place goes winds around and is actually pretty large. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We'd definitely go back again. You can feed stingrays, koi fish and nurse sharks plus you can pet lemurs and a few other animals. We had a blast.

I had a WONDERFUL time here. This is the most interactive aquarium I have ever been to. Very kid friendly and amazing experience for adults as well. The bird cages were my absolute favorite! It is so much fun feeding birds. I love the way how they all flock to you all at once. I can’t wait to go back!

Place has really grown since the last time we were there. Lots of cool new animal rescue exhibits and encounters. Call ahead for each encounter as they're not always open every day. Groupon for the win, FYI

Took my brother who has multiple disabilities to the San Antonio Aquarium today, and it was great!! Very good experience. It's apparently quite popular, but with a little patience and understanding that this is a great place for children to learn and children are children, this is a wonderful experience with good staff. I wish I got the name of the people who helped me, one a young man (curly brown hair) who was my cashier and a young lady (cute multi colored hair) who helped me with direction inside, they were so kind and helpful!! I also noted the cleanliness was impressive! Multiple hand sanitizer stations and a lovely young lady who constantly kept everything tidy. Thank y'all so much!!

This was our first ever experience at this aquarium. I would consider this more of a mini zoo/aquarium. But right when you walk in you are greater basically by lemurs and other fun creatures. You have to pay extra for tokens to do the interactions with the animals but it is well worth it. The animals are fun and entertaining. My son couldn't get enough of feeding the sharks and stingrays. He also played with an armadillo, anteater, and a opossum. My daughter played with some type of nocturnal animal I cant remember what it was called but extremely cute. They also had a 4D motion ride which the kids loved to. The back of the aquarium where they have the birds was closed for whatever reason, but we still got to see all the iguanas, snakes, and other reptiles they had for show. This was a really cool and fun experience and would recommend this place to anyone. The only downfall was the girl at the front desk was pretty rude and acted like she didn't want to be there and it made us feel unwelcomed.

This spot was a definite win! We had so much fun. Definitely worth going too. We're from Houston and this spot was actually amazing to go to, and experience up close and person with sea animals, its an interaction aquarium so you actually get to interact with everything there. Its so freaking cool. We fed sharks, sting rays, octopus, fishes, pet some iguanas, a freaking porky pine! Lol bunny's! Turtles. The sting rays were so cute. They love attention. The sharks are super chill! They just let you pet them. I mean, wow. Please go! You won't regret it!!!! Anyone child under 3 is free! Does cost to feed, and do the interactions with certain ones, but to touch is free, just be gentle for sure. These little creatures are awesome. Your kids will love it! Also, they do close at 7. Right on the dot. No lee way. Security is on top of it. Lol

Our family had such a wonderful time visiting today! There are so many exhibits and some wonderful animals to see and interact with. The whole experience is very hands on (gently of course). We took our three year old and he had the best time, he didn’t want to leave! We stayed for over three hours and never felt bored once. Edward was such an amazing teacher and taught us so much about the different animals. Each of us took turns “holding hands” with the octopus and it was such a thrilling experience even for us adults! He was so knowledgeable and friendly. We fed different animals and got tons of great pictures and memories. At first our little one was hesitant and scared, but by the end he was interacting with the sharks and rolling up his own sleeves to touch them. Each staff member was patient, knowledgeable, and kind. There is also a jump house toward the back that’s included in the experience. Our son loved that part too and ran out some energy in that area. We were so impressed that we bought an annual pass and look forward to many more exciting and educational interactions with these beautiful animals!

This was a nice place to visit. We were on vacation and found this place to go on our free day. It was so much fun, you can see and touch certain animals and feed them. They have different animals asides from different fishes and stingrays and more. They do have a place to eat or snack. It has an arcade and much more. Nice place to visit. To feed and to pet certain animals you do have to buy tokens. The staff was very helpful and friendly and made sure the animals are well taken care of.

This is an amazingly wonderful place for kids. Not really an adult aquarium. Pros: Almost all of the exhibits were interactive. You could touch most of the fish and feed many of the animals. The lemurs were absolutely adorable, and many employees were carrying a lemur around. They had the biggest and fattest koi I have ever seen! There were balloon animals and face painting, and a mermaid was there to take pictures with. This aquarium had play areas and an arcade. Cons: most exhibits didn't have information placards about the animals inside. In fact, the placards that I saw were almost always of an animal that wasn't in the exhibit! The many touch tanks (almost the whole aquarium) were not supervised, so there was no hand washing prior to or after touching the fish. I couldn't help but feel sorry for the penguins because it was so warm. The aquarium was interesting and fun, but not really educational. There's a great deal of promise here, but at this time, it's only half fulfilled.

This aquarium has a variety of animals to look at, most of which are interactive. For a membership for my family of four, it’s $15 a month. That came with 7 or 8?? Free aquarium passes and the bounce houses are included free. I’ve brought my kids here from small toddlers to now, as kids. I’m not sure who enjoys it more, my partner and I or the kids 🤣 you buy tokens to interact or to buy food for animals. The tokens can add up but for the price of your admission and all that you have access to, it’s way more than fair. The staff have always been amazing on our visits other than one time my partner got cut by a rusty nail in the kids bounce house area… we told the worker and he just looked at us crazy with no apology. It’s since then been fixed (we checked on our most recent visit). We adore this place! My only concern is some of the animals are in very small enclosures and it makes me wonder about what they should truly be in.. I understand a lot of the animals are donated in and can’t live in the wild but I’m not sure if that equates to since they can’t live in the wild, they don’t need the same space.. I do think they should add extra people to watch over the animal encounters because not every adult follows the rules I have seen some parents who don’t watch their children touch animals in a way that could end up in injury to the animals. To the people who complain about the musty smell (yes it’s there), grow up. Thats apart of being around animals who poop! Overall, the experience you get for the price is unbeatable.

I ended up getting a membership - lots of extra perks. This place is awesome. There’s so much to see & lots of animals/fish/sharks/rays you can touch! Even my six month old was interested the whole time we were there. There’s an outdoor part where you can pet kangaroos and alpaca too!

Brought my 3 yr old and 18 mo old there today and we had a blast. Bought the Groupon, and it was definitely worth the money. The outside room was my kids favorite. They just wanted to follow the stork around all day. The staff there was friendly, and showed off the parrots and let us go into the bird area. There is so much kids CAN do to interact with the animals for no extra cost (you can pay to feed them). Would I buy a season pass? Probably not, unless your kid is really into fish, lemurs, or birds. It's fun, but like once or twice a year kind of fun. I didn't love the extra cost things. There's an arcade and a bounce area that my 3 yr old really wanted to do, but I didn't want to pay extra for it. He got over it quickly, but just be prepared. You literally have to walk through the arcade and that was really exciting for my kid, and disappointing when we didn't stay. Maybe next time I'll plan for it, idk.

Was able to find discount tickets online. The exhibits were great and family friendly. There was lots to see and the employees were so friendly and helpful. Those who held animals knelt for the toddlers and spoke very well. The school age kids got to ask questions, even offered to hold a small python. They got to feed n touch the fish and touch stingrays. We loved it. ❤

4* for adults the 5* is for kids. This place is as like a zoo/aquarium/arcade/playground which makes children smile. The exhibits are fairly small but well staffed with staff who teach kids about the animals while they pet and feed them. Different feel entirely than a big zoo and much more kid friendly.

We took my two nephews & they LOVED it! One of the highlights was the mermaid. She was the first “stranger” that one of my nephews spoke to in over a week long visit. They also enjoyed feeding the rays, the tropical fish, petting the koi & turtle, feeding the birds, then petting & feeding the sharks. Unfortunately the alligators weren’t hungry when we went.

We have been to Aquarium's all over the U.S. this was by far the best experience because you can physically interact with almost every animal. Their philosophy is that in order to get a person excited about conservation they have to feel a connection with the animals and they deliver that connection. My husband bonded with the puffer fish and was so excited about the octopus. The employees really care and love their jobs and you can tell. You will not be disappointed with your experience.

The first half was surprisingly more like a zoo with quite an array of non-aquatic creatures, then the 2nd (lower) half opens up to the aquarium. The smell was typical to that of creature abodes, but it was clean. The cost of encounters was a bit pricey but there were ample opportunities to pet creatures without the encounters. A great place for good photos and a good time. And, the Teacher Discount made it all the more worth it! I really loved seeing the interactions of the workers with their critters-- they genuinely love their jobs.

It was alright but more disappointing at the end. Alot of the enclosures seemed pretty small for some animals. They lack dirt/vegetation, some animals were walking on plain concrete. You can purchase tokens to interact with certain animals, and to buy food for them. Whatever tokens you don't use can be used at the gift shop. Some of the fish were over crowded. Turtles had small runways with little piles of hay. Some of the enclosures were to dark to see into. I think they need a bigger space/addition so you can really appreciate seeing and interacting with the animals. At times it felt like a pet store. The outside area was closed which sucked because we wanted to see the kangaroos. Probably wouldn't visit again.

We were looking for something to do and decided on the aquarium, although our expectations were not extremely high. Boy were we wrong! We ended up having a blast!! There are so many interactive experiences!! Most of the feeding or in depth interactions cost extra, purchased as coins up front, but was worth every penny!! The money goes to the animals upkeep. All employees were super nice and super helpful. Would highly recommend. We loved the lemur experience - getting to sit while they walked all over us. We were able to pet them and got a lot of cool facts. Feeding an octopus, stingrays and alligators, and touching sharks, snakes, turtles and fish were some other cool experiences we had. Even if you can’t afford all the extras, it was worth the visit!

This place is just a glorified petting zoo. Some fish species were in tanks too small for their activity level. And lots of animals enclosures were also too small for them to enjoy any activity whatsoever

The overall atmosphere of the place feels a little odd. It's almost like the building used to be a car dealership that has been added on to. At the time I went (Sep. 2021), a lot of exhibits were closed for construction, and several of the animal exhibits felt incomplete. There's also an arcade randomly placed in the middle of the aquarium. Once you get past the first impression of it all, there's a lot of interactive experiences to be had, which make it a more fun experience than that of a typical, highly polished facility. You can interact with, pet and feed, most of the animals there. Fish, stingrays, small sharks, anemones, parrots, turtles and so much more. If you need a break, they have the arcade for older children, as well as multiple bounce houses for the little kids to enjoy while eating some pizza, hot dogs, etc. As I said, my first impression was not worth writing about, but at the end, my kids and I had a better time than the other zoos and aquariums we've been too. Definitely worth checking out!

THIS PLACE WAS AWESOME! Went on Halloween day and everyone was super friendly, one employee that was particularly amazing was bri who brought a snake out for my son when she saw him getting excited over the large snake and took the time to tell us all about the different reptiles they have, my personal favorites were mama and papa the caiman !! Will definitely be returning some time soon.

Great place for family with kids. They will enjoy it. I think this place is underrated tbh. It has enough parking. You will probably spend between 2-3hrs. They have an indoor and outdoor area with animals. Even an indoor bouncing playground for the kids. You can eat inside or bring your own snacks. They have a gift shop. Kinda of over priced.

I had a blast here! The people that work here are great and very respectful. We got to feed the octopus, sharks, and stingrays. The employee Edward helped us allot and was very very nice. He told us allot about the animals we were interacting with and let us feed them. The only downside of this whole trip was we waited about 20 minutes for an encounter but the employees and gave us our tokens back as an apology. We overall had an amazing time and we definitely want to come back!

Not the biggest or flashiest aquarium... but the most unique and interactive aquarium/zoo I have ever been to. I fed alligators, pet a ring-tailed lemur, met the most friendly bull rays and bamboo sharks... got to touch a Pacific Octopus. The tortoises have great personality too. And there are A BUNCH of other animals to see on top of that. This was a great value, and we will absolutely be back as paying customers or volunteers!!!

This place deserves more credit and it’s fun for adults as a date night and and the family as a getaway. I’m rating this aquarium 5 stars for many reasons but primarily because of how interactive the experience was with the wildlife. The second thing that caught my eye was how amazing the staff was. They all seemed to love their job so much. I felt positive energy in every area. I didn’t catch the name of the female employee who allowed us to pet the snake but WOW … I’m blown away with how amazing she was. She provided so much information on the reptiles and you could tell how passionate she was. I will definitely be back!

One of the small Aquariums I've been to, but it still had plenty of activities and content. Uses a token system for certain activities that you'll need to purchase ahead of time before going through (i.e. feeding animals). They aren't a necessity for the experience but a cool way to get some more personal interaction.

There is parking in front of and on the side of the building. The entrance is at the front and the exit is out the side through the gift shop. Walk in and pick a package deal or pay for the entry fee. You get tokens in a pkg. deal that are used as currency for feeding stations of the many creatures and animals that await you. They have many interactive touch stations. You can also purchase special treats to hand feed for a more in depth personal interaction. They also have an arcade station that gives tickets for prize purchases and a decent sized inflated jumping station which is on the other side of the food court and restrooms. The food court has a limited snack type setting with a cool automated frozen treat station.😁 This place is much bigger than you think and has a vast amount of visual and interactive stimulation that is great for pretty much any curious mind and I highly recommend it. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful as well. My family has been twice these past couple years and will go again when we're back in town.

Very disappointing experience. As soon as you walk in, the smell, wow. I know this is an aquarium but wow. There were a good bit of families not wearing masks and employees don’t enforce it. This place is so crowded esp with Covid, it’s overbearing. I felt like there were way more monkeys, birds, etc than aquatic animals. I’m giving this place 2 stars bc the stingray & tiny shark pool were nice but everything else was disappointing. This place is pretty ghetto and not worth it. Just go to zoo or the Texas State Aquarium which is far better.

Really great interactive things to do here. It's pretty expensive to buy the tickets ( if your not already a member) and then buy tokens to do the more extensive interactions. We chose to use our tokens to pet the ring tailed lemurs. It also is something nice to do in a rainy day. 🌧🙂

All the staff were awsome and so friendly .. Cisco delivered outstanding customer service and was extremely helpful when we had trouble with our gaming card .. The bald guy that worked with the animals was super awesome and delivered outstanding customer service as well .. Both Cisco and him (the bald guy) both deserve a raise and recognition for their outstanding customer service and for making our experience at the San Antonio Aquarium one we will never forget 💜💕

The aquarium is amazing the only problem is the lady name Maria moun she a hispanic lady with black hair and evertime she is in the front desk or at the bouncey house section she always in some type of mean mood. I went into the bouncey house and she decided to harass me today about a dumb receipt. I told her "I dont have a receipt" ,and she decided to tell me "make sure you have your receipt". I asked Maria "cant you look it up on my membership so that ill be able to take my kids" and she said "I can but its easier and faster if you had a receipt". Then she went on to say "Next time have a reciet".That is very ridiculous im very annoyed and this ruined my whole day, I dont need all that attitude or rudeness just for a dumb receipt, like im sorry that I didn'thave a receipt for your day to be easier. I have never experienced this with anyone else only her and I hate coming here when she in the front because in the back of my head I know its going to be a difficult day today. Also I just purchase something and I dont know if she's lying about her name being Maria, but the the receipt user/sales says lupe.

Great location with specialized exhibits. I wish it wasnt covid 19 and we could have seen the open air part of exhibit. Great feature, you get food coupons for snacks or lunch as part of paid admission. Also lots of hands on or participation with habitat!

  • 2/5 Renee M. 3 years ago on Google
It was worth the price when the outdoor area was open. Its basically a $15-20 petting zoo with some fish tanks and stingrays.

  • 3/5 Jami H. 3 years ago on Google
Visited the aquarium for the first time. It was okay. I thought it was kinda pricey for something that only took my husband and I about 30 minutes to get thru. Pretty small. Best thing was getting to touch the stingrays. Other than it was just okay.

  • 1/5 caitlyn n. 3 years ago on Google
Horrible experience. The staff was very rude and the cages looked a little too small for the animals. They say on there website that they take military discount but they don't when you actually get there. They also make you pay about 1-2 dollars to pay credit which isn't a big deal for some but for others it might. For me personally spending 20 dollars there wasn't worth it.The pictures shown on the website definitely didn't look like what it looks like now. There was only one nice staff out of all and he was very kind and helped us out. Other than that one nice staff the experience was horrible and I wouldn't go back.

  • 1/5 Brittney G. 3 years ago on Google
Very disappointing considering it was an aquarium. There wasn’t anyone monitoring the touching of the fish. No hand washing stations for before/after feeding/touch experiences. The employees were only in the front where they had encounters, concessions, and the arcade. The fish tanks for the Koi were way to small for the amount of fish they had in there. The stingray and shark tanks were just concrete pillars with some glass around it. The didn’t even build the glass into the tank but simply sealed it to the inside. It looks as though everything was thrown together. Overall, this was a waste of money and a disappointment.

Loved it a bit pricey and we didn't get to go outside but other than that my kids were happy so,so was I!!

  • 1/5 Randy R. 3 years ago on Google
This was AWEFUL! We spent $250 at this place for 2 adults and 4 kids (2 of kids over 12 so they were full price). The entire outside was closed. The inside was not just overly busy but also FILTHY. The tanks were NOT well taken care of at all. You could barely see any of the sea life through the murky water and the outside glass of the aquariums. I understand finger prints from little kids but no one made any efforts staff wise to clean the glass at any time. Even when it was very apparent that you couldn’t see through the grime. EVERYTHING in the place was over priced and EVERYTHING cost extra money to do any activities. We fully expected this to be a reputable aquarium and we were sorely mistaken. I guess if you are looking for some very sickly looking sea life, half dead & extremely unhealthy jelly fish and experience some VERY rude kid who worked there with the Lemurs and loudly shamed me for my disability in my hand and was ridiculously rude to my entire family as we tried to keep calm and be nice in return... go for it! But I can say, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED 100%!!

You're supposed to leave these kinds of places with a renewed respect for animals but this one just left me sad as hell. Dirty, small, smelly, and dark. There are HUGE animals in tiny habitats, such as fish, a giant boa, and a Cane Toad, which in the wild travel over a mile a day. The poor thing is living in a 3' x 1' x 1' terrarium so he cant even stretch his giant legs! Lemurs in cages with no windows under dark fluorescent lights. Just sad. For the amount we pay per person for entry there is no way these animals can't be properly cared for, but as stated on Google, it's a FOR PROFIT aquarium.. I'm embarrassed for any tourists to come to San Antonio and think that's how we treat our captive animals. I don't know how the staff sleeps at night - I'm just a visitor and lost sleep thinking about this. Deplorable.

It was ok... It isn't really adult oriented at all. I feel 10 bucks is more suited than the 19.99 plus tax price. It was just very very short, compared to other aquariums I have been to.

Very disappointed in this trip... the whole place was over crowded and kind of unorganized. The stingrays were really cool.. If u get hungry you can get ur food with the tokens too which was really cool considering the tokens themselves were extremely expensive in the first place.. my daughter loves to jump so we got her the iguana jump package so she could pounce away in the jumping castles. Which are smack dab in the middle of the food cort which isn't much of a food cort .the options are hot dog, pizza, and nachos we ordered pizza for our daughter and hot dogs for us ... chilly and cheese cost extra and each meal comes with a drink and chips . They only have 1 flavor icee and they didn't have any chilli for our dogs sadly ... my husband and I were really disappointed in the whole place... tho my daughter had fun.... I think that this place has some major potential if they were a bit more organized and not so confined in the way of space it could work if they re arraigned and organized everything better... Regardless My 5 year old had fun so thats all that matters so I suppose it was a productively successful day ...

  • 2/5 Azalea R. 3 years ago on Google
This place is shady... Overall animals are taken care of but everything is a charge. You pay for admission, and if you want to feed the animals, you have to purchase "tokens". If you want to feed every exhibit, it's "$120."😳.. So be selective on which animals/exhibits you want to feed because you'll be leaving that place broke... You're better off going to the Snake Farm!

We visited first thing on a Saturday morning and arrived before most people, so that was nice. We purchased tickets online in advance to save time. We didn’t know that “tokens” had to be purchased to interact with/feed the animals—this is a pretty pricy add-on. When we walked in, it smelled like a pet store. The animals are great, but it seems like many of the exhibits are way too small for them. I also worry that the birds don’t get enough sunlight. There is a large arcade in the middle of the place that feels really obnoxious and unnecessary. Not far past the arcade is a massive room filled with bouncy-houses...I just don’t understand. The animals are cool, sure, but this place doesn’t hit the mark compared to literally every other aquarium I’ve been to.

This place is not an aquarium! They should call it a petting zoo or animal encounter. It has a very strong smell throughout the whole place. We were able to see all of the "exhibits" in less than 1 hour. I can understand why some people like it, but I was expecting more of an aquarium vibe and this place is not it. At the entrance when you can have animal encounters with lemurs, etc....I did not like that the animals were encaged in a exhibit with tiles instead of replicating their natural enviroment or at least put some dirt in. For me this was very sad too see. A lot of the glass in the exhibits were dirty and I sat in one of the benches to find a dead cockroach underneath. The token system that they have in place feel like the animals are competing for food and starving. Again, did not like the experience and will not be coming back. Im always happy to support places that treat animals fairly and can offer an educational experience to their customers. I'll give it 2 stars beacuse the staff was nice and friendly.

This is a fun and interactive Aquarium that’s good for kids. It’s not as big as others I’ve visited but they had a good mix of species. There’s plenty of fish, turtles, and reptiles. They also have a jumping area with a small food court! It’s a great experience for a good family day!

  • 4/5 Lori B. 2 years ago on Google
I was visiting family and we decided to go to the Aquarium. The lemurs are super fun to watch and it is much more than an aquarium, there is quite a variety of animals. I gave it 4 stars because it is a small aquarium for the size of San Antonio, and you can go through it fairly quickly. We did have a good time and all of the staff were friendly and professional.

  • 4/5 Esther G. 2 years ago on Google
I loved it here. There are plenty of animals that you can physically encounter with such as 3 different kinds of lemurs, iguanas, birds, turtles, sharks,, and so much more!!!! Too bad they closed off the outdoor area because from what I hear it was amazing. I really hope the owner decides to get the water system to be able to go outdoors with the other animals and have the full experience.

Found a site that offer great coupon deals to visitor this place along with all my family. This was a great choice to bring my family from Laredo. I can definitely say it's fun for all ages and the indoor stetting is so convenient for anyone to visit year round.

  • 4/5 Claris D. 2 years ago on Google
We were looking for an indoor activity to cool off from the San Antonio heat and found this mini aquarium. I liked it because it was very interactive and hands-on for kids. The encounters were educational and fun, but you have to buy tokens which were $3 per token and the encounters cost about 3 tokens each. The showtimes were displayed on some exhibits, but I didn’t see an actual show during the time indicated—maybe they were late or canceled due to COVID?? Not sure. You can scan each station to learn more and it brings you to a TikTok clip that’s short and factual. We skipped the bounce house and arcades. Maybe they can condense that section and put more sea life exhibits.

  • 4/5 Rachael S. 2 years ago on Google
My family had tons of fun here! We all got to touch some koi fish and starfish!! Kids will really enjoy coming here and seeing all the aquatic life. A few animal interactions where you get to feed birds and lemurs (have to pay for those separately).

  • 5/5 Michelle R. 2 years ago on Google
So much fun, this aquarium is very hands on. You can feed and interact with almost every animal. Also this aquarium has more than just aquatic life. They have birds, reptiles, monkeys, lemurs etc. It's like a mini zoo. They also have a huge bounce area where kids can go and jump to their hearts content. Kids under 3 get to do alot of activities for free. They had a high tech ice cream machine. The aquarium can get very expensive. Since you're constantly buying tokens. They also have an arcade which is nice. We did the tank where you soak your feet and the little fish eat the dead skin. Also there big dinosaurs lurking around. Just be mindful the entrance is a little hard to find. You'll pass a big water tower.

Honestly I was blown away by this aquarium! I'm so glad I got the yearly membership. I can definitely see myself going back at least 6 times a year. We had so much fun. I have to thank Edward who help us feed and touch the octopus, stingrays, and the sharks! Edward was awesome; you could truly see his love and passion for marine animals. He stayed with our family for awhile and even checked on us later.

Cool neat little place, lots of snack options. Very difficult to find an employee to do an encounter. With one of ours, we had to wait an hour and had to be very persistent about it. Once we did it, it was awesome though. Just think the management may need to schedule employee duties in a better way.

Thanks to Edward who helped us feed the Octopus, sharks and many more animals. His knowledge towards each individual animal was outstanding and his social interaction with the my daughter and the other children there was amazing! The San Antonio Aquarium is one of the top three places to visit. 10/10 for family and children. 9/10 for dates. The friendly, brilliant, beautiful staff are a radiating example of the best of souls humanity has to offer. Went with grandkids and great gkids today! A wonderful interactive experience! Lots of opportunities to pet and feed the wildlife; employees walking around with animals so that patrons can get up close with them! The employees were extremely friendly and amazingly knowledgeable, willing to tell you about the species and answer any questions! The octopus was being very social today, allowing patrons to touch and suction their fingers. Several employees asked if we had seen the octopus yet and were excited to share how fun the octopus was being today! Highly recommend for all ages!

Visited San A for the weekend, saw a lot of hype around the aquarium. It wasn’t what I was expecting, but it was unique. I was shocked at how much they actually had in here. Came in when they first opened on a Sunday and there quickly was a line. The explanation of exhibits available were all in Spanish lol. We went into the lemur exhibit. I saw pictures of people holding them which I was excited for. But when you get there, you can touch them with only 2 fingers. Dont use the photo booth, the pictures do not come out well at all. There was a lady right outside the exit trapping people to sign up to win a trip which was off putting.. but overall was a cool experience. I feel bad for the larger creatures being in such small spaces.
