REALLY enjoyed our morning at the Aquarium. It all depends on your family's attention level. Some reviews complain that it's not much for the price. If you're expecting an all day experience, this is not it....but, for a morning (about 2.5 he's, my teenager and I really enjoyed it. The exhibits are close together and flow well - everything is kept up well and looks nice. There is plenty of interpretation and technology at each spot. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hands on exhibits were great. We loved touching stingrays, jellyfish, urchins, the sea slug, stars and anemones. The FREE luggage check is GREAT for travelers and plenty of facilities (bathrooms, benches, food opps, etc) for all. The art exhibit based on recycled trash was a great showcase. NOTE** Be honest with your family's patience level. If your family rushes and kids have no interest in nature/aquatic life, this won't "wow" them necessarily for hours and $30 may be more than you'll care to spend. But for many families, there is PLENTY to do, stress free touring, great exhibits, and an overall great experience

Such a great aquarium. Lots to look at. My only gripe was there was such a build up for the African penguins and I went to see them and there were 3 in a small, very small room outside. So sad and disappointing. So I would wait until 2025 they are building a big structure for penguins, seals and one other exhibit. They do have great displays especially the wetlands area. The birds are right next to you! I am an avid aquarium goer and this would be my number 2 it's close to my number one which is the Atlanta one. This aquarium does have a water play area for little kids plus a playground. Tickets were expensive $37 Parking wasn't bad $10 for the day

Awesome experience at the aquarium! Great for young children. I would recommend that you purchase the annual pass if your a local. After paying for parking and tickets it’s only 20 dollars more to become an annual member. With the annual membership you get free parking. You have to purchase your membership before you come and register your car so you can take advantage of the free parking. Facility is very well maintained with a splash zone for kids and lots of hands on exhibits.

The Tampa Aquarium has really upped their game, having been many years since we last visited. Great galleries covering just about every kind of fish and living creature in and around the Gulf. Never have seen so many people there at once, plenty of room and did not feel crowded. Bathrooms were clean, as was the entire building. Parking can be a bit difficult, best to park in the ramp across the street and walk a few 100 feet. We had a wonderful time and will visit again soon.

What a lovely experience! We enjoyed a nice lunch at the Cafe with a cool craft beer. Then off to visit the exhibits, which were filled with a wonderful variety of species. We thoroughly enjoyed the natural Florida mangrove section. We finished the day by checking out the gift shop and getting some souvenirs. All in all a nice way to spend an afternoon. Parking is a bit of a walk, but safe sidewalk access to and from.

This is one of the best aquariums I've ever seen! We had a phenomenal experience seeing and interacting with the different animals. The birds were in a bigger room so we could get pretty close to them. It was very interesting seeing them eating and how they move around. There are three expositions where you can touch the animals: the stingray, the jellyfish and the starfish. They had a nice eating dinner with and inside and an outside area. As well as a kids splash area outside.

Great aquarium. Always crowded though. The bathrooms are clean but not squeaky. Gorgeous animals. They have a few cafes around, I’m not sure you are allowed to bring it around. They search your bags before entry. Kindly they have water bottle fill stations. Out of all the aquariums in Florida this is my favorite and recommend it. Kid friendly and make you feel at home. Could amp up their gift shop, kinda lame. Sticker selection is small and people always love those. They have an outdoor kid park and splash pad area, along with that is a 4d show and a African penguin exhibit. Line for tickets wasn’t too long. Much quicker than sea world.

This was our first visit to Tampa and I decided to give my mom this birthday present. I took her to see the city around and of course went to the Aquarium. It was a great experience especially where the birds were located, just roaming and flying around. It was very relaxing ! It is a self-guided tour but there are plenty of staff around to help. The site is very clean, organized, and you cannot be lost because there are clear directions throughout the aquarium. The experience with the rays, with the jelly fish, really interesting! Just one recommendation, don't go after 3pm if you want to get the whole experience because it will take you 2hr at least if you want to enjoy it in a calm pace .

This aquarium is absolutely phenomenal! It exceeded our expectations! Admission is pricey- cost us $105 for 2 adults and our 10 year old son to get in. We spent about 3 hours exploring this huge well thought out space. It offers interactive things, beautiful scenery, and has a gift shop, Cafe, and outdoor splash pad for kids. Although pricey we felt we got our money's worth and were here all day between the aquarium and splash pad. Costs $10 to park, then it's a quick 5 min walk to entrance. Love this place!!

Was blown away! Traveling from Seattle we had a lot of kill time after ending our cruise and, what’s more convenient than a aquarium right next door?! We took the opportunity to visit this aquarium with a huge chance to kill many hours before our flight and we had a good 3-4 hours of picture taking, and walking around to cover. They even had a full food court to enjoy lunch. We arrived at opening with 5 pieces of luggage and they even have a system to leave your belongings (at no cost)for those who have that concern of being stuck with luggage like we were. The place is nice cooled for us non-Florida folk, good gracious you people got it hot! From sharks to rays, and eels to 🐧 penguins this place had it. I saw various species of fish and mammals and even got to feel jellyfish and sting rays! Seattle is known to have a nice aquarium, but it doesn’t even scratch the surface of the Florida aquarium! This is a great opportunity for anyone to go and visit. It’s a gem!

This place was really fun. We parked close by and parking was $10. We used a City Pass here which was quick and simple with the City Pass app. We spent roughly 2 hours at the aquarium. It had a really neat layout with a lot to explore. There lots more here than just fish, there are reptiles, birds and penguins. Would be cool to see a better, more permanent display for the penguins but they seemed fairly happy.

We had a great time. Plenty to see and do. From touching jellyfish to the other interactive exhibits, it was definitely worth the price. It was quite crowded, but spacious enough that we didn't feel squeezed in. Lots of different species of animals and something for everyone. Parking can be difficult but ample paid parking in a garage across the street.

Although it was quite a bit smaller than we thought it would be, the route of the tour was captivating and magical all the same! We parked in the city about a half hour walk from the aquarium so we could enjoy a brisk walk, some sun and some site seeing if the architecture. The staff was all super bubbly and welcoming when we arrived - a few people running demonstrations we're so educated and passionate about the animals that you couldn't help but stop and listen. All in all it is a thoughtfully planned out aquarium and extremely interesting. You don't have to be a kid to enjoy the touch tanks, jellyfish petting or seeing how different species live. This was a great way to spend an afternoon!

It is a fun place to bring the kids, there is a splash pad. To see the whole aquarium it takes between 2 or 3 hrs, if you also pay for the boat experience it is 2 more hours. You can have lunch there and they also sell ice cream. Outside there is like a bar area where you can get beers and other beverage, just by the splash pad (in case your kid is playing while you are relaxing a little bit)

Overall experience was good. Our grandson really enjoyed it. Us not as much. Decent walk from parking garage to entrance. Walk may not be much for people without limitations or disability or not older. We didn't get to see the penguins. 1 spot we had to carry the stroller down steps. Wish there was a better mapping area for stroller access. Matter of fact the only map we saw was the one by the escalators. Was pleased that it didn't smell like alot of aquariums and it was clean and very well kept. The jellyfish were beautiful and the touch area was great for kids young and old. Hopefully this will help people decide to go or not go for a visit. I would visit!

Nice aquarium. Similar to the Atlanta aquarium but smaller. You start at the top floor and make your way down. They have three opportunities to touch the animals. The stingrays, starfish, and jellyfish. The animals, well birds kind of have free range which was interesting to see. The first exhibit seems like you're in their natural habitat vs them just being locked up in a cage. Something unique to this aquarium is they let you observe their coral reef reproduction process which I thought was cool. I like how each section is themed and well put together. It was slightly crowded when I went on a Sunday afternoon but I got through the aquarium in like a hour fifteen minutes. Parking does cost. The aquarium is next to the port. They have a splash pad and playground that was closed. They have many options for food and little dolphin cruise tours you can go on. To get the best value I would suggest going here with a city pass. You can purchase city passes on location according to the signs.

The Florida Aquarium is beautiful. There is such a wide variety of wildlife that we don't get to see at a lot of other aquariums. Make sure you see the otters while you're there, they like to do backflips under water and propel themselves across the water... it's so adorable. The atmosphere is relaxing and the interior is very modern. The staff is extraordinarily nice. The only downside is parking, you need to walk about 5 minutes from the car but all-in-all it's really not that bad. Wait times to get inside aren't longer than 10 minutes either. This is a great place for kids, family, and friends. I highly recommend you take a visit and enjoy your day!

We had a reservation booked in advance (for my daughters birthday today 🙃) from about two weeks ago. Now, at that time, the hours were 930am-5pm every single day of the week. We made our reservation for 3pm; the website says you cannot show up PRIOR to your time slot, but you are welcome to come @ your reserved time or AFTER. So of course, we came a little while after thinking it’ll be less crowded & we can get in and out. Right? Wrong. The front gate was wide open to enter, which would lead you to believe they’re open, right? Wrong. We parked but once we got to the front, the doors were locked. The parking lot was open, and I was under the impression they were open until 5 pm because when I booked my tickets - THEY WERE. Much to my child’s dismay, we were met with a more than unwilling crew member, who shut us down immediately & made no type of efforts to rectify the situation. She yelled “WERE CLOSED” in a snarky tone, which I responded “ok, well I made reservations for 3pm & online it said you were open until 5pm, it’s barely 4pm?” She said again, “NO WERE CLOSED”. 🙃 Mind you, 2 weeks ago they WERE open until 5pm. I checked the hours after we were rudely dismissed and not offered any type of assistance, and surprise surprise Google clearly states that “this business updated the hours a week ago” WOW. Well, that’s lovely. I didn’t anticipate the company cutting there hours a week prior to my daughters birthday, after I had already booked tickets at that. I was hoping that considering we were pre paid customers who had reservations at 3pm, that they might have made an exception. Especially because it was 4pm on the dot, & there were a multitude of family’s still actively walking around. It was NOT anywhere near empty. They didn’t even ask if we had a one day ticket, which meant that we could’ve paid for 3 tickets- to be turned away at the door & not offered to switch the day or anything. Thankfully however, we have an annual pass which means we can make an appointment for another day. But If we didn’t? What a horrible way to handle a NEW change in your hours of operation, honestly. I wish I had gotten her name, but all I can say was it was a white female employee I spoke with & she had zero customer service skills. Today was a truly disappointing experience at this establishment; not only did they cut hours without notifying current reservation holders of the change (so they can be prepared for there visit) - the unprofessional individual at the front did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. We enjoyed our time as annual pass holders, but unfortunately this left a very bad taste in my mouth for how they handle their customers’ & we will NOT be renewing this year once our membership expires. Long story short, Thanks for making a 3 year old cry on her birthday 😇

Fun to Visit once, nice layout. I enjoyed areas of interaction (touching Jelly fish etc) it’s a little smaller than it looks. But it was fun to walk through once with my 4 year old I’m not in a hurry to go back anytime soon, and just like everything else it is way overpriced $107 for 2 adults and a child but I guess they have to take care of the animals somehow! Save yourselves some money and look at the pics below because that’s about all there is LOL!

Amazing!!! Best aquarium I’ve been to. I loved seeing its wide variety of fish, birds, and other animals. I especially loved watching the sharks! I spent quite a few minutes just watching the shark tank—I loved watching the sharks, stingrays, and moray eels! I visited once last summer and again this summer. I loved it both times!

Top tier experience. I had an amazing time here!! I felt like a kid again! The aquarium was very clean and the staff was friendly. The food was quick and delicious (Pizza, Tender & Fries). The parking was also convenient and in walking distance which is always a plus. You can print the tickets out online and skip the line when you get there, this helps especially when you go on a weekend.

Family had a great time. This is a wonderful aquarium to visit with the family. This was a completely unplanned stop while visiting Florida and I am so glad we did. Our kids range from 5 to 17 and each one found something they absolutely loved at this place. Well worth the money spent. I would highly recommend taking time to stop by if you're in the area.

This is a great place to bring the kids! Be sure to come here early if you want closer, cheaper parking. This destination does nearly come close to the floor space of the Toronto, Georgia, or Baltimore aquariums. However, this place does a great job curating on a much smaller scale. It is neat the aquarium allows the pelicans to roam freely. The horticultural displays in the wetlands exhibit are extensive and gorgeous! Plan to spend an hour if you come here as a couple or alone. Plan to spend two hours if you come with kids.

My kids age 20, 5 & 3 all LOVED IT!!!! (Adults did to) Despite a school field trip attending while we were there we had plenty of space to roam around. Loved the layout & hands on experiences for the kids. Seating area was spacious, shaded and food was great. Splash pad and play area outside was a super cool addition!!! Admission was pricey, ($150 for 5 people) however after touring the entire aquarium and the kids playing outside I feel it was worth what we spent!!!

Awesome day spent at the Florida Aquarium. There are lots of different things to see and look at. I definitely recommend getting the membership if you have small kiddos. They offer military discount. They have a great outdoor splash pad area. There is also a bar outdoors that offers lemonades, water and alcohol. There is an indoor restaurant area that you can order food at.

The Florida Aquarium is an excellent place for families with young children. There are many interactive exhibits that kids will love, such as the touch tanks and the 4D theater. The aquarium also has a large outdoor water playground perfect for hot days. However, I felt that the pricing was a bit high. Adults are charged $43 to enter, and parking is an additional $10. I also thought that the penguin exhibit was a bit disappointing. It was smaller than expected, and the penguins didn't seem active. Overall, I had a good time at The Florida Aquarium. It's a great place to learn about marine life and have fun with the family. However, I think the pricing could be slightly lower, and the penguin exhibit could be improved.

A terrific anytime attraction, but really good for rainy days. There is so much to see here in a small space. Such a dedicated group of people caring for the animals and teaching visitors in a fun way. There are live mangrove trees, free flying birds, cownose rays, sharks, African penguins, lemurs, corals, river otters, thousands of fish, octopus, axolotl, and so many other interesting animals. There's a cruise in the Bay, and a really cool sea trek where you dive with sharks and rays and a turtle but keep your head dry.

First, parking was way down the road and had to pay $15 then walk down a few blocks crossing busy streets. How could you expect a family with young kids to do that I don’t know. Plus parking was in some gravel lot, I still got them rocks in my tires. It was quick and easy to get in once there and the staff were really nice. The place was clean, they opened up the cafe while we were there. They have some cool activities and exhibits, you can touch some aquatic life and come close to a lot of different animals. However, we were done in an hour and that included stopping and reading, bathroom breaks, and interactions w animals and staff. They definitely have a cool design set up, just not as much as I was hoping to see or do. They have a splash pad and park for kids, we sat there enjoying some dip n dots where squirrels will come right up and eat off your spoon. Not a bad place just kind of short. A lot of potential here, I would suggest a parking lot next to the aquarium for guests. If I pay $15 I don’t expect to walk blocks away.

Highly recommend this place for toddlers and family. One of the best we have visited. Large variety of animals and fish. Brilliantly design display of each tanks. Straight forward layout, start at the top and work your ways down each floor. Very convenient with the mall and restaurants just opposite. Tip, for children with strollers, you could approach the staff members and they would lead you to the lift which is not public.

Must see attraction in Osaka. A little far out by train but well worth the visit. Good photo opportunities and LEGO land is next door with a nice food court. Good opportunity to see the variety of rare fish and sea creatures. Can even see penguins and touch the sharks and sting rays! The centre tank is amazing and a must see with the huge sharks and rays. Be careful of missing things, you aren’t allowed to go back to see things you might have missed so take your time. Nice gift shop at the end to get some trinkets. Also has the stamp sites to complete the tour books!

(Translated by Google) I went to see a whale shark. Go down around one huge aquarium from the top for many laps and enjoy watching the fish. The main part here is two whale sharks, and you can enjoy the pattern of the dorsal fin from the top and the big mouth from the bottom. Since the upper part is more crowded, there are many chairs for those who came down early at first, so it is recommended for children to sit there and look at it. At the end, you can enjoy interacting in the aquarium. There is no show, so it's an impression for adults.

This place was incredible. Well worth the $30 admission. We were staying in St. Pete Beach and needed a daytime activity and we chose to go here. It was great choice. There was tons to see. The otter was the highlight to me. We were able to touch jellyfish, sea anemone and sting rays. There was sooo much to see.

Decent aquarium. I'd consider a one time visit spot however. Good but not fantastic selection of animals to observe.

This is a beautiful little aquarium, but it's very small. I'd have a hard time justifying the cost to bring a whole family here. I was especially impressed by the Mangrove exhibit on the top floor. A very unique and interesting exhibit that I haven't seen anywhere else. Allison in the gift shop was very friendly and helpful!

The first year that this Aquarium reopened as the Florida Aquarium (1994?), sight unseen, Husband bought us an annual membership for Christmas. We have visited many times, watching it grow larger, and each visit has been more interesting and educational than the last. Our most recent visit was September 2, 2021, when it was not crowded - school was in session and Florida had fewer tourists. Our favorite part, then and now, is the huge tank, where we watched all types of fish, sharks and rays swim about. In fact, I got to swim with these marvelous creatures for one of my birthdays - maybe 15 years ago? It was a memorable and exciting experience. We love watching all of the creatures throughout the Aquarium - inside tanks or enclosures. We enjoy each and every visit! If you haven't been, you should put it on your bucket list.

This is one of the best Aquariums that I've have the pleasure of visiting. I recommend buying your tickets online prior to your arrival as you may be greeted with long lines to purchase at the door. Take note that onsite parking is $10.00 The pricing of the Florida Aquarium is dynamically priced so some days are less expensive than others. Which ever day you visit I feel the value that you pay is completely worth it. The exhibits are very well maintained and it appears that the animals inside live a very happy and enriched life. Several interactive exhibits really enhanced my visit. Those were the "stingray beach" , the "no bone zone" and the "Moon Bay" every staff member I encountered was friendly and ready to educate about the animals they were presenting. My favorite exhibit is the "Wetlands of Florida" under the dome my partner and I easily spent 20 minutes in this area alone. There is a great 4-D theater playing a more educational documentary and another film for family's/ children in addition to a very nice splash pad and play ground. I have to say that the Food at "Café Ray" was very appropriately priced with some great food! the nachos are totally loaded best bang for your buck, and the burger I had was delicious! Great aquarium, great location great value! I'd love to see this venue add additional outdoor exhibits to further enhance the visitor experience. 5 out of 5 for me!

The aquarium was actually really good, lot of awesome fish and wetland wildlife within the building. Loved both of the two major exhibits and sub-exhibits, including the kinda hidden rooftop exhibit no one else went up to. Two cons: the sad African Penguin exhibit is laughably small and just by itself. And the gift shop is almost more expensive than a Disney gift shop. $22 hat, $15 glass, etc.

We enjoyed our time at the aquarium. It was great that they have so many interactive experiences. They have a touch pool with anemones, star fish and more. They have a sting Ray encounter area. We really thought it was cool to be able to touch jellyfish. We had a great time seeing all the animals and learning about all the sea creatures.

A Wonderful Experience for All Ages I had the opportunity to visit the Tampa Aquarium in Florida and I must say it was a truly enchanting experience. The aquarium offers an incredible variety of marine animals and attractions that captivate visitors of all ages. Upon entering, I was immediately taken aback by the beauty and diversity of the aquatic animals. From colorful tropical fish to majestic sharks, there's a vast array of species to explore. The tanks are designed in such a way as to provide a clear and close view of the animals, which makes the experience even more exciting. The quality of the facilities is simply exceptional. The tanks are well maintained and clean, providing a healthy environment for the animals. Additionally, staff are always available to answer questions and provide information about the animals and their habitats. One of the things that impressed me the most was the affordable price of the ticket. Considering the size of the aquarium and the quality of the experience offered, the amount charged is very reasonable. The aquarium also offers discounts for families and groups, making it even more affordable for everyone. The environment inside the aquarium is peaceful and relaxing. The soft lighting and background music create a calm and immersive atmosphere, perfect for enjoying the beauty of marine animals. There are also comfortable rest areas where you can sit and gaze at the surrounding marine life. The aquarium offers a complete program for families, with interactive activities that delight children and adults alike. There are educational presentations, animal feeding and even the opportunity to touch some species. Children are sure to love this unique experience. Parking at the Tampa Aquarium is convenient and spacious. There is ample space available, which facilitates the arrival and departure of visitors. In addition, safety is a priority, with staff present throughout the area to ensure visitors' peace of mind. In summary, my visit to the Tampa Aquarium was simply wonderful. The variety of marine animals, the interactive attractions, the quality of the facilities, the affordable price, the relaxing environment, the family program, the convenient parking and the security are aspects that make this aquarium highly recommended for everyone. If you're looking for a fascinating and educational experience, don't miss the Tampa Aquarium.

We went to this place during holiday season, was not crowded and kids had fun. Dolphin cruise experience was canceled on that particular day we visited due to wind alert. They are also have play area and the splash pad, kids will definitely enjoy.

Awesome experience! Must Explore!!! You are able to see otters, alligators, birds, beautiful fish, ducks, lemurs and much more. Then you can head to the marine side where there are a few touching experiences that are absolutely exciting!! The best part is seeing the marine creatures and reading the facts about them. During the holiday season they have a section called the sea of trees with multiple decorated Christmas trees. I do recommend at least 3 hours of exploring, taking pictures, and reading. **To start the trip, I would recommend going straight to the public parking area ahead from the front entrance of the aquarium. This is near the park area. The parking is $2 per hour. I would also recommend putting in at least $6 dollars in for at least a three hour experience at the aquarium. The aquarium does have updated business hours so double check them on or before the day you plan your trip. Tickets can be bought online or in person.** *The staff were very welcoming and happy to have us. They are taking good precautions during these times by enforcing mask rules as well as having sanitizer stations around the aquarium. Bathrooms are very clean and well maintained.*

Awesome aquarium for anyone of all ages. I am a huge fish guy so, this is definitely up there on top aquariums in the state, if not the absolute best. The tanks are really neat and they have so many species of fish. You definitely get your moneys worth here. If you are in the area visiting, this is definitely a must-do.

This aquarium is just beautiful. Spotless and clean and very strict about their mask policy. We thorough enjoyed the beautiful fish exhibits. Fascinating! They also have an outdoor area and a playground. They have a boat and a dolphin cruise which we didnt have time to do. Cant wait to go back and do that too. The 3D movie was closed due to COVID. So we want to go back when COVID is over and see the movie which looked super cute on the marquee. We stayed four hours and loved every minute of it! We ranged in age from five to 69 .

I had a hard time rating this one because the experience is great however they did not enforce social distancing at all. The place was not regularly cleaned and children were running everywhere smearing up the glass and just generally out of control. They instated timed entry which would give the appearance of crowd control but they failed miserable in this regard. I felt unsafe and feel like they could be in for a rude awakening if the virus is spread due to their experience.

(Translated by Google) I went on a business trip to Osaka. A format in which you look around the large central aquarium with whale sharks from the upper floors to the bottom. There are various aquariums on the way down, and there are plenty of dolphins, capybaras, and seals. In the aquarium exhibition hall of the jellyfish, the room was darkened, and I was healed by the jellyfish swimming slowly in a fantastic atmosphere. I had a whale shark soft serve at a cafe on the way from the exit to the outside. The cold ice cream was delicious, partly because it was a warm spring day. I also bought whale shark melon bread. I will eat it after I get home. My hands stretched out with cute bread (laughs) (Original)

This was my first trip to the Florida Aquarium and it was amazing! The layout and display of the animals is extremely well done. Something I loved and thought was unique compared to other zoos and aquariums (particularly in the Wetlands area) was how close I felt to the animals. The habitats felt real and natural and were absolutely beautiful. I also appreciate the emphasis on education throughout the aquarium. As a special treat, my boyfriend and I did the Penguin Experience. It was totally and completely worth the cost. We got to pet Cliff the penguin for almost all of the 20-30 minutes we spent at the encounter. It was also obvious that the woman teaching us about the penguins loves what she does and loves the penguins. She was extremely knowledgeable and answered every question we had. I would recommend this experience to anyone and everyone. I can't wait to go back!

Nice aquarium. Loved the section with the trees. It is a bit small, our group of adults walked through it all in about 30-45 minutes. For the best value I recommend getting The city go pass where you get admission to here, another aquarium, the zoo Busch Gardens and a sunset dolphin cruise for $120. If you don’t take your time you could finish it in about 45m—1hr; however, if you take your time and read all the plaques/really soak it in you could spend a couple of hours here. For a kid this would be a really fun time! For an adult… it’s still fun but pretty expensive to get in at about $39 per person. We went on an early Thursday afternoon and there were like three separate field trips going on so our whole time at the aquarium we were surrounded by loud kids that were super excited to see all the marine animals 😅 I really liked what they did with the the outside area though! They re-did the splash play area for kids and made a nice big deck with a nice view of the water while you either watch your kids or just relax with a drink outside.

There is construction in the parking lot but it wasn’t to bad. U just have to walk a little farther. The first time I went here there were not very many people but the second time an elementary school was visiting. I’m happy for them that they could go in sure it’s very fun and educational for the kids but it was SO loud and packed with kids running around. I’ve been to many different aquariums. This is not my favorite, but it’s still a nice aquarium that took us 2 hours to go through. I loved that we could see more than just the aquatic life as they had several snakes, water fowl, frogs and more. I do wish they had a dolphin or sea lion show. I enjoy aquariums who have that. However I was very excited and impressed with all the sea life we were able to feel. We touched jelly fish, sea stars and sting rays. They really have some beautiful electronic information displays too. It was nice to pinpoint where the fish was located in its natural habitat. Every worker was super friendly and customer oriented which is almost rare to find a business with that many great friendly staff! The facility was decently laid out. Just when we thought we had seen everything we’d find more to look at. It was nice to see such a variety of sea life as well. If you enjoy aquariums I do think this one is worth checking out despite it being a little pricey. However keep in mind that price helps feed and care for all their animals along with many other factors. Glad we went as my 3 kids had a great time!

Really cool aquarium though not too huge. We loved the exhibits of art made out of all the plastic collected from the oceans. Saw alligators, tons of different fish, jelly fish, snakes, sharks, clown fish and others. If you're weary of covid, don't go , it was very overcrowded. Also , even though no tickets were available online, I called them and they said you can still come, hence, I guess the overcrowdedness . Didn't bother me but I know it might bother others. So be warned

A lovely educational aquarium. It's much larger than we expected, so the 4pm timed admission wasn't long enough to see it all (closes at 5pm), but it was a beautiful and informative hour, for sure! Lots of Florida-specific learning that impressed even lifelong residents, plus an extraordinary art exhibit inside and outdoors focused on sea trash. We will definitely return when it's safe/r, in order to see the entire site. Note - the cafe closes at 4.

Though perhaps not the best it still has amazing things to Wonder at and I love coming here for the shows and the films and most of all the Butterfly Rainforest!!! Where the butterflies and birds fill the misty air over all the beauty of the plants and trees and flowers. We have a subscription this year and I go as often as I can!!!

  • 5/5 Melinda D. 3 years ago on Google
Everything was clean. Hand sanitizer stations throughout. Scheduled splash pad for children in decent time increments to avoid crowded environment. I felt the place was not packed... we were able to social distance. The fish were beautiful with a large array of different species. We loved the otter the most. Wishing we could have had a peak at their penguins as part of the normal experience but it wasn’t available. We would still go again. Friendly staff.

Good place to bring your family during this pandemic just to have a breather. Social distancing is being practiced here, so be patient. When buying the tickets, they are sold in time slot. The aquarium is a bit on the smaller size, you can probably finish in 2 hours, unless you waited for all the shows and feeding. Some areas are outdoor, bring an umbrella or poncho if rain is expected. No on site parking. We parked on a residential street a block away. A bit pricey, you do get in for free a week prior and after your birthday.

  • 5/5 James C. 3 years ago on Google

We had an amazing time. My sons loved it. So did we. It was well organized given the state of things right now. The line to get in was long. But moved rather quickly. I do appreciate that they have discounts for veterans, like myself. Make sure you reserve your day and time slot before going. It's a great way to get the kids out of the house and enjoy the day. Perfect for day dates as well. I highly recommend anyone to check it out and have a nice time.

Nice place to spend some times with kids. Neat and clean Aquarium. But it’s quite smaller, compared to the one in Baltimore. Nice and friendly staff. No parking at the premises, but you can park your car in the building in front of the Aquarium - $2/Hour. Also, you can purchase the tickets inside the Aquarium. We’ve booked for 12:30-1 pm, but entered at 12 noon without any issues. (2/2/2021)

The FL Aquarium is amazing. It shows the different species of fish, coral, sea urchins, etc... it has facts about all the animals in the aquarium and even has shows for kids and adults. It's really amazing to see these animals too they even have reptiles like gators. The gift shop is also amazing! They don't use any plastic which is a huge plus. Really amazing staff and animals. Plus it's a non profit!

  • 3/5 Krissi D. 3 years ago on Google
I went here in December 2020 and the Aquarium itself is great. Kinda small compared to a few other I have seen but have some great animals/fish. I loved that you could touch the stingrays, jellyfish, and sea anemones. I also loved how there was a worker who brought a penguin out. Those are the pros for this aquarium. I hated that there were not workers around the place reminding people about their masks and social distancing. At least 4 families, that I saw, who told their kids to pull their masks down for photos inside the aquarium. There were also several families who just let their children run around and not respect social distancing. There are also many people who didn't wear their mask properly (Over the nose and mouth). If you visit this aquarium please be careful when parking. There is official parking in the back of the aquarium. You can actually prepay online for the parking. When you arrive there are guys holding signs saying aquarium parking. DO NOT FOLLOW THESE GUYS! They are not workers for the aquarium! I even spoke to people who work for the aquarium about this and they said because they don't work for the aquarium there was nothing they could do. You can easily find the aquarium parking by just typing it into google maps.

Pretty good. They do have a lot of amazing art made out of trash cleaned up from the beaches. It's amazing how careless people can be...glad it shows us all how much we leave behind. 40,000 lbs were removed that made 70 art projects.

Went here on a Friday and wasn't too crowded. As far as aquariums go, this one does not rate high on my list; seems too "sanitized" and "sterile" for my likes (and I'm not referring to COVID. I just found the displays lacking. I much preferred the Mote Marine Aquarium in Sarasota. We chose to also go on the "Wild Dolphin Boat Cruise" which lasted about 90 minutes. I always enjoy being on the water on a beautiful day. There were only about 20 people on the sizeable tour boat, which was nice. You basically cruise just a little ways out of the harbor (not much) and try and spot some dolphin, which we did. Not terribly exciting for me, as I've seen plenty of dolphin in my life. But again, nice breeze, and good way to end our visit there. Other than that, nothing special about the cruise itself.

Second, you can walk around the entire place in about 45 minutes. You can pet the tops of jellyfish and stingrays which was cool. I would say this place is best for kids ages 3-8. I would give it a C-.

One of the state’s best sites for conservation, education, and research, the Florida Aquarium houses tons of marine animals that will teach children all about what lives in the sea. There is a learning center, camp program, and evening tide talks. Visit the aquarium’s learning center with five learning stations, watch turtles nest, help release rehabilitated animals back into the wild, attend evening tide talks, and more. There is also a sleepover program – where children can spend the night in sleeping bags alongside reef sharks and sleeping fish.

Good place to visit for couples, but not much in terms of variety. Be ready for a lot of Kong walks and not many rest stops, there it is also prohibits foods and drinks other than the one cafe inside the tour. But in the end it’s about seeing unique organisms, some aquariums are too small for the beautiful creatures

  • 5/5 NR R. 3 years ago on Google
Nice aquarium with lots of great views of different marine animals. We went right after opening and all the animals were quite active much to the delight of my small children. The main tank with whale sharks was a hit as there are several viewing levels and many other species in the tank for kids to view. Interesting to note a water shuttle between USJ which lands right next to the aquarium and Legoland is also next. Could easily spend an entire day or more here.

One of the bigger and better aquariums in Japan. When you go there are plenty of school kids around but they are well behaved and stick to their groups. One of the best places to visit with the family. Exhibits are well maintained and staff is always willing to answer any questions. Restrooms are well maintained. Gift shop is great and the restaurant inside is good as well. The splash zone is a lot of fun for the little ones so is the playground. Also, there is a lot of things to do outside the Aquatium. Highly recommended.

Wonderful aquarium with interactive displays. We also did the wild dolphin cruise. Plan for about 2 hrs in the aquarium itself. Food option inside is good, no outside food is currently allowed due to covid. Do the 4D movie! It was fun. There is also a splashpad but we didn't bring the kids swimsuit.

Decent aquarium, worth the price. This place wasn’t the biggest or most impressive aquarium, but it was a decent length and had some good displays. The stingray and jellyfish petting areas were nice. I would have liked to see better lighting in the reef tank (the coral wasn’t super impressive but better lighting would help). We would bring family here.

Spent a couple days in Tampa just so I could visit this place and in my opinion it was worth the price. Yes, other reviews will point out that it is pricey and not as large as other major aquariums like Shedd, or Monterey Bay, but I felt this was nicely laid out and well maintained. The wetlands trail was really neat and a unique layout. I loved all of the native plants growing and the wild birds flying and moving about. Because the glass to the exhibits are so low, be careful with kids not sticking their hands or running up to the tanks. My daughter ran up to one and spooked a large fish and it splashed her swimming away which was pretty funny. The main aquariums are really nice and the jellyfish exhibits were cool. Aquariums cost a lot to maintain so I feel the price was on par for that. It still was a great way to spend a day and we really enjoyed it.

Me my wife and a very good friend of ours went there to the Florida aquarium yesterday I have never been so disappointed in an aquarium to see fish there was no manatees there was no dolphins there was this they said a galapagosis grouper the food was outrageous overpriced and it just was not what it was supposed to be I've been to several different aquariums and I've never ever been so disappointed in my life with this one here in Florida at the Florida aquarium don't worry I won't be back it's not worth the time or the money to go in there and to pay almost $100 for seniors that are over 65 and to pay almost $100 to get in there to see nothing very disappointed Robert skeen

We took our 1.5 year old here and he loved everything about it. From the interactive moon bay to the big glass aquariums and the splash pad. I love that everything is eye level for children. Kind of expensive, considering you need to pay for parking also. It took us longer to drive from our hotel in Orlando than it did for us to see every exhibit in the Aquarium. The upside, they did have alot of cool animals.

Loved it, the exhibits were beautiful with tons of different sea life. The staff was also very nice, pointing out the different animals that you may have missed at first glance. The highlight had to be the giant glass walls that showed off a ton of animals. If you are in the Tampa Bay area I would highly recommend a visit. Also they give a military discount for those veterans with families.

  • 3/5 Crystal H. 2 years ago on Google
I was kind of sad to find that parking was $10. I don't mind paying for parking but I didn't see this anywhere on their site so it was a surprise. The aquarium was neat...but not worth the cost to me. Sadly I was expecting more. For families with small children I can see during warm days when splash pad is open how this would be better suited for you.

One of the better aquariums in Florida, with some emphasis on Florida wetlands and species found around Florida. Extremely educational without being boring. Best to arrive early and take your time, else it's an hour adventure at best. My girlfriend and I took our time and managed to squeeze about two hours out of it. Unfortunately, the price of admission is extremely steep ($10 just to park and then $38 per person), and it becomes pretty clear pretty fast that the admission is less about seeing the aquatic creatures and more about supporting what the aquarium does for rescue and conservation. Still a great experience for your kids, but the exhibits haven't really changed in the several years since I was here last, so it's probably one and done unless you buy their city pass. Easier to justify a romp through the exhibits when the price is free.

The aquarium had lots to see. There were some live birds and cute otters. There were several touch tanks and one to touch stingrays.

  • 4/5 Amanda O. 1 year ago on Google
My seven year old had a great time which is the most important part, right? I was disappointed in the tiny penguin habitat and the "giant" octopus. The river otter area was awesome and I like the information provided about each species. The kids love the splash pad and playground, but you desperately need SHADED seating areas where parents can sit and still keep an eye on their kids. It was mid-April and we were all getting fried just so we could keep a watchful eye on our children!

  • 5/5 Sharon B. 1 year ago on Google
Although it was almost $100 for my two boys and I, ages 6 and 8, it was the perfect aquarium for their ages. The 4D theater was still a tad scary and the splash pad likely for younger kids, but they enjoyed it all. About 1.5-2 hours for indoors plus movie and splash pad time. So a great morning activity.

  • 5/5 Cassandra D. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely loved the visit. Great place to come for a spectacular view of various sea life. The hands-on experience and splash pad were icing on the cake. The environment was very clean. Kid friendly aquarium. Modern interactive information about exhibits was educational and fun for all. Many various species for viewing. I highly recommend the raptor show. The observation deck allowed for great views of the water and workings of the tanks. The splash pad and playground were great for a break.

I was blown away by this aquarium! We spent about 4 hours here, which was so unexpected. I’ve been to the Georgia Aquarium (which has huge exhibits and shows) more times than I could count and I loved this one just as much. It’s very unique and there is just so much to see! We were also really impressed with the people who worked there. If you have small kids, be sure to pack a bathing suit and/or a change of clothes. There is a nice outdoor splash pad that we had no idea about!

  • 3/5 sarah c. 10 months ago on Google
We had a wonderful time at the zoo but were seriously disappointed at the value we received for the price we paid for four adults. We really enjoyed the touch exhibits. We would recommend a few things: 1- Parking lot should have a larger section dedicated to handicapped individuals. We really struggled finding a spot that wasn’t out of question. 2- Adding additional exhibits for the big things that people are looking for; like sharks, sea turtles, rehabilitating animals, penguins, etc. In reading reviews, it looks like they had shark and penguin exhibits but we didn’t see them when we went today. As expected, it was really packed due to summertime and large day camps coming through. On the plus side, they did have wheelchairs to rent for a reasonable price of $8.

Loved it. I recommend it, but more for children and young adults; expanding knowledge is great at all ages. It would make a good first date, group, or a learning experience if nature and wildlife interests you. I still liked it. I wish there were more. We really enjoyed ourselves.

They have added and are going to add many more creatures to enjoy! The Morph'd exhibit alone is worth the visit! A bit pricey, but buy online ahead of time to save $$$. Parking is $10 in nearby lot.

I love this place. Each tank has a gorgeous display of sea creatures. Very clean. Fish look very healthy. I loved the penguin add on experience. I will never forget how adorable they are. The women who taught us about the penguins were fantastic. You can tell they really love their animals. The boat ride is a little pricey and mostly you see the industrial canal. We did see dolphins riding the bow waves of a big ship coming in which was cool. Watching the sharks get fed was really interesting. The food at the cafe was really good. Definitely try the Korean steak and noodle bowl. I also thought the soak pad for the kids was a great idea. The garden eels are my favorite to watch. This place is expensive but I do feel it is worth it.

Excellent aquarium but very crowded. They could definitely use more sharks. There's only two big sharks and one little bonnet head. Kind of pricey and parking is expensive but otherwise a good time. They also have a playground if you have the kids.

This aquarium is great fun for the whole family. My recommendation is to visit once and if the trip isn’t terrible and you think you might visit more than once a year then just go with the membership This is sooo much more than just an aquarium they have birds, lemurs, snakes, and penguins then when your kids get just about sick of animals they have a splash pad and being in Tampa it’s always splash pad weather you can buy Concessions Of all kinds from drinks both kid and adult varieties to dipping dots

This aquarium a MUST! It was wonderful from start to finish and is SO much more than an aquarium. We enjoyed not only the aquatic life but also many birds, lemurs, penguins and more. There is also a playground and splash pad right next to a bar/ restaurant for the adults to enjoy a beverage. The staff was extremely informative and answered so many questions! I would recommend this to anyone of any age. Amazing !!!!

If you book prior the entrance tickets no need to wait in queue line , must say like a VIP entrance. Pros : 1.Variety spices of Fishes 2.Parking ( official paid parking $10 per day ) 3.Canteen with limited option food 4.Touch pods 5.Play area for kids Cons: 1.Maintenance of aquarium tanks 2.Expensive tickets

We visited in late August. Parking was a bit tough. I recommend going early in the morning, or parking not in the aquarium lot and walking. As for the aquarium, it was hands down one of the best aquariums we have been to. Extremely family friendly with tons for the kids to do and see. Lots of interactive stations and also stations you can pay for. Staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Wish we could of spent more time there! We brought a wagon, but didn’t end up using it (my kids are 5yo and almost 3). Everything is clean and signs are clearly pointed out. Can’t wait to come back!

The aquarium is decorated for Christmas and it looks great! Lots of photo ops. We have passes so we have been several times. I recommend buying tickets online if you go during a busy time. We have the family plus membership which I love because I can bring out of town guests for free! We have a family of 4 but this membership allows you to get in a total of 6 people. The primary pass holder has to be present and show their ID. Be sure to schedule a movie time at the 4D theatre. It’s only about 15 mins but runs every 30 mins. My kids are 5 and 8 and they love it! There are great photo ops in front of the large tanks in the Coral Reef exhibit as well.

My wife and I try to visit any aquarium we are near. This aquarium is by far the best aquarium we've been to so far. We thought the $40 price tag was a bit steep, but it's worth every penny. The staff was beyond friendly and knowledgeable. We witnessed some feedings. Several interactive exhibits, including "pokers cove" as we call it, where you get to touch starfish, sea anemones, and rays. Ash near the rays was so friendly and knowledgeable on the ray exhibit. The open-air marsh exhibit was awesome. Get right up close to some beautiful water fowl and birds. The jelly tank was also amazing, touching some moon jellies. By far, the best aquarium we've been to. The only thing I wish for is more exhibits showing a range of where things live and maybe a fun fact instead of just the names, but regardless, well marked displays of each animal.

  • 5/5 Shane O. 4 months ago on Google
Ok this aquarium is so much fun. You have to take your time and look at all the tanks or displays because you can easily miss something under the water. Even in the far tank you have to look UP and see a massive turtle above your head.

Planned a trip up to Tampa to check out this aquarium and it was absolutely wonderful. We entered the lobby and there was a staff member by the map who answered all our questions. While we were in the lobby, they brought four African penguins through the lobby on a little show and tell. It was delightful. The waddled through and were so curious! One of the days many highlights. I really enjoyed the pace of the exhibits; they were spaced perfectly for us to leisurely stroll through and stop when we wanted to investigate something further. Another thing I really appreciated was how the exhibits flowed into one another. I never had to look at a map and we saw everything. It took us about 4 hours (2 adults, no kids). We finished with lunch from the cafe, which was also great! Something I noticed - there were always lots of staff around, helping with just about everything and answering questions, which was great. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Definitely recommend.

Very lovely experience! Me and my family came to visit but had problems with the parking machines cause they didn't want to accept our European cards. Luckily, the lovely staff helped us and gave us a coupon for free parking for the inconvenience! The aquarium was nice and had a ton of birds and fish.
