I came in last week and had an awesome experience here with my girlfriend. We ordered the ticket via our King County Library Card which gave us the free admissions (i.e., one card can take up to at most four people). There are many great and vivid selections, but I love the outside sea otter section the most. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable to all your curious questions. There are a lot of exhibitions so please take your time to visit them all. I believe there is no free public parking, so you have to pay nearby parking. If you have kids, the aquarium is a great place to learn, enjoy, and spend time with them. Overall, I highly recommend this place to local people, tourists and myself to come back in the near future.

This is a very nice aquarium. The fish, birds, and sea mammals seem very well cared for with clean and well maintained aquariums and enclosures. There are a lot of educational signs throughout to learn more about the fish, etc. There really is a lot to see and if you take your time I could see spending a couple of hours exploring. I would definitely recommend visiting.

are in a good location, on the promenade in the center. there is something to see and even new species of marine life can be discovered. interesting and curious. I think both children and adults will be interested. to see everything about 1-1:30 is enough. there is a cafe and gift shop inside. the guide and the scuba diver who takes care of the fish from inside the aquarium tell interesting things about them. if you want to drive there by car and park for free, then you need to put it against the aquarium that is there. look at the site and only put the car there. what else can be said? I expected more and a little better. I was at the Oregon Aquarium and it's better there, much bigger and interesting and expected something similar, but not bad, okay. There is no queue, you can arrive at the appointed time and immediately go in.

A great experience. The octopus 🐙 was unreal. Did you know they have three hearts and that they have been around for about 296 million years now? But as intelligent as they are, there is one hinderance from being a super intelligent life form like humans is their inability to teach their offsprings, who unlike us, could transfer knowledge in an exponential factor as technology advances. Also did you know that I’d be 6ft tall if I had an Afro? P.S. Check out the sea otters 🦦, they are super cute and smart.

A fantastic aquarium with lots of exhibits and different animals. All the staff was really nice and answered any questions I had. There was a really great area out on the pier to sit and take a break. The seals and the sea otters were very cute. Everything was very well maintained and all the critters were happy and well cared for.

This is a good aquarium although admission may be a bit steep for the size of the aquarium. It took about 45 minutes to get through the exhibits. The exhibits and tanks were in good condition and clean. The octopus was active and interesting. The seals were playful and entertaining. A great place for kids of all ages.

We loved the animal crossing inputs, my baby girls loved that and the fish and sea life. We enjoyed the touching ponds and loved how the sea urchins will try to suck in your finger, and you can touch the sea worms, and other things as well. Beautiful tanks and lots of workers to ask ? on. I guess for a coastal city I expected more and they are expanding May 2024 which will be a new addition and I'd probably give them 5 stars then. . . Fun am visit

I booked my ticket in advance and even though I visited on weekend, there was no line up. Most visitors are kids, lots of kids. I also noted that many staffs are not knowledgeable, mainly it’s because most of them were young students doing volunteering which I could understand but at the same time it’s hard to find a “real” staff that works there. I wish they had a different uniform, once that has “volunteer” tag and the other “staff”. It’s a not bad aquarium, it might be fun to visit in rainy day and or if you have children.

Haven't been here in years so it was great to go back! It's smaller than I remember, but the exhibits are well maintained and employees were super knowledgeable. Always great to give back to the community while hanging with the fish. Although, I think I'd rather visit the zoo since it feels more interactive and of course is a lot bigger. I also forgot to get my parking validated (make sure to ask when you check in!!!) since I'm sure most people in this area know how parking in Seattle can be. Only a certain lot can be validated so make sure to prepay online and see the info within the confirmation email. The most cost effective way to visit is probably to purchase the CityPass.

I love going to the Seattle Aquarium so much, I became a member! Great place to bring the family. It’s moderate in size so your kids won’t get too tired but the exhibits are great and the first one is even interactive. We just love seeing the seals and otters as well! You can make park at Pike Place Market Parking Garage and ask to get 2 hours validated when you enter the aquarium. The same parking garage connects to Pike Place Market which opens up your day to many activities!

So much to sea you won’t believe they managed to get the original cast of Nemo (and their million cousins it seems). Great aquarium with plenty to experience. Bit on the smaller side but they are building a brand new exhibit that’s promised to have sharks. I enjoyed the underwater dome and spent plenty of time just watching the fish. Lots of variety. Kids would love it. I recommend going early and off season to enjoy it as I imagine it gets very crowded.

This visit wasn't initially in our plan, and the tickets were a bit pricey. However, they had a collaboration with Animal Crossing, which was incredibly exciting for me as a huge fan of the game. This collaboration made the visit so much more enjoyable! The aquarium appeared small from the outside, but once we entered, we realized it was larger than expected. It's still on the smaller side, but they had the animals we were eager to see—the Otters! We were fortunate that they had an Otter feeding session during our visit. The best part was seeing them groom themselves after their meal! The Otters truly made the expensive tickets worthwhile. I was lucky enough to snag one of the last Gulliver pillows available. The otter-themed merchandise was adorable overall. I highly recommend this spot for fellow otter lovers. Just make sure to check for the feeding session times. It wasn't too difficult to find a good spot to watch them eat and groom since they spent quite some time grooming themselves, which is cuteness overload!

Came with the City Pass (amazing value, you should get it if you’re visiting). It’s my first time visiting this aquarium and I really enjoyed the exhibits! Learning about the different local wildlife and how some are endangered is very interesting. I really enjoyed seeing the seal, octopus and the birds! There’s also an amazing observation deck of the water!!! Definitely worth coming to at least once!

Nice aquarium, but not as good as Mystic or Boston. A bit steep on pricing.. 35.00+ for adults! 20.00 would have been fair. Overall, a good place to bring the kids, but you can skip this as an adult, unless you are into aquariums.

Personally, I enjoyed seeing the octopus and the river otters. The rest of the exhibits are sometimes hard to enjoy because the space is crowded and not very well designed for moving people through. There were several times where people were forced into a corner that other people wanted to get into to see what was there. Certainly not worth the money, especially compared to other national aquariums.

The exhibits are very cool. There were lots of school field trips when I went. The tickets are pricey so if you can get an online deal please do. We did have fun though as it was the highlight of my date. We saw an otter poop on another and then swam through like it was nothing and it was hilarious. They were so goofy and playful. We saw some great views from the whale watching area. The otters and seals were my favorite exhibits. I also loved the octopus as he was very hidden. The fish were gorgeous and the staff made an effort to teach me something new about the birds and fish. Overall a great place to have a date and a great learning experience.

My husband and I tend to visit either the Aquarium or the Zoo in every major city we visit. With Seattle being on the water, we opted for the Aquarium. Lovely place, with a wonderful and safe setup. Very knowledgeable staff, and beautiful exhibits. My fave was the giant octopus, Mochi. He was amazing to see and interact with. The giant otters were amazing to watch as well.

A special place, no matter if it's the first, third, fifth, or seventh time I had been through the aquarium. The local fish and fauna, the exotic, and the information about them is informative and entertaining. It's hard not to get excited thinking about the exhibits and their varied nature's. Touching sting rays, tide pools, and salmon ladders all are some of the things you can see and do. The gift shop isn't bad either. The facility is clean and family friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to bring explorers of all ages. It's not necessary (or hasn't been a single time I've been there) to purchase tickets prior to arrival.

So much fun it was so cool. I would say this very nice. I've been to many aquariums and I got say this one was pretty good. For the amount of space they have they really got it down. It has a whole lot of neat things. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Seattle corals is amazing! They have a very friendly staff. Yesterday I went there because I had some questions about algae issues and the staff took the time to explain everything to me and guided me in the right direction. Definitely the number 1 store for all my reefing needs. ✌.

I really am trying to like this store but I don’t know if I can. The prices are very expensive for what they are asking for. Most stores have a guarantee on fish and this place doesn’t offer it so I won’t buy any fish from here. Reason for this review is that I was quoted a price over the phone for a coral and when I arrived to the store the owner told me a completely different and more expensive price. Shady business for sure

The Seattle Aquarium is a delightful place for all ages. The staff is friendly, the Aquarium is clean, and they obey all state health orders. This particular day I brought my mother, fighting cancer, and was impressed with the staff. They were kind and brought my mother into the air-conditioned building as I waited in line. There was plenty of seating for her to rest as she found herself needing to sit from time to time. The facility was not overcrowded, and there were plenty of open places for us to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful views. I was able to create a beautiful memory, have a personal conversation and reflection. For this, I will be forever grateful to the Seattle Aquarium and its staff. It's these little things that change the lives of others. Thank you.

I love the aquarium. Even being a local that has been here a million times. It's still always fun. The touch tank is awesome. You have people constantly walking around educating you on things. The giant octopus is always neat. And the otters and seals are ADORABLE!!

Beautiful. We had a blast. It's great for al ages. The Puffins were entertaining, there is a cool arch filled with jellyfish that you stand under, and the underwater dome is really cool. The kids loved the seals and my fave was the big octopus. Great gift shop as well. Definitely recommend going.

I love the Seattle Aquarium! I got a membership this year and I have gone twice so far with my daughter. I love that they added a new kids play area. I am really sad about the giant clam though. That was my favorite animal to visit (apart from the otters).

I do not usually visit an aquarium but this one is included in the City Pass so I decide to give a go. It turns out that this place is pretty good. Note that this aquarium was started as a research institution rather than a place of interest for the general public, comparing to aquariums in other cities, this aquarium’s scale is not huge. But still, there are a lot to see. They have a decent variety of fish exhibition. I would say give yourself 2 hours is enough. My favorite part is the touching sea animal section. This is in fact the first time I touch a starfish and a sea cucumber and I enjoy the experience. The water is freezing, so be prepared. One interesting part about this aquarium is that it pulls seawater from the harbor directly. As a result, animals with a small scale that are not originally preserved in the aquarium can go through the filter and stay in the aquarium if they like, which is a really funny feature.

I visited the Seattle Aquarium in November of 2022 and have just got around to reviewing it but I loved this place! It was a Tuesday in November when I visited so it was not busy at all, we have plenty of time to linger and look at the exhibits though there are several outdoor spaces so dress accordingly. The touch tank near the entrance was very cool and stocked full of different starfish and urchins and anemones. I personally think the best part were the sea otters! They were so dang cute! I'm used to only being able to see river otters at my local zoo, which never seem to care to stick around and show off to folks, but these two dudes were just adorable! They were very playful and gave quite the little show! Of course everything there was cool but the otters were just the best. All the staff there were kind and helpful, and the little gift shop at the end was nice too. I got a little felt otter ornament. The aquarium is located on the waterfront so there is plenty to do in the area when you're done visiting. Definitely get the City Pass, which includes the aquarium and allows you to do a bunch of other things too, it helps you save money on tickets!

Such a cute and quaint aquarium! Not as big as I was expecting, but I still enjoyed it a lot. I do admit that $32 per person was a bit pricey, but I also went just to see their animal crossing collaboration! I was hoping to see more than what was presented, but still had great time!

Although it seemed like a short aquarium experience, the collection was enjoyable. Firstly, great customer service from ticketing, photographer, photo pick-up, and displays. Nice hands-on with starfish and urchins. Playful seals were entertaining. Well worth the money.

It was okay, I really liked the different animals. They did have a good variety. It did feel safe and clean for covid. I would have given them 4 stars if the didn't charge me extra just because I was not from Washington. That was kinda insulting. We have no places in California like that to my knowledge. I will say most definitely not in Sacramento.

Went this week with a reserved time slot. Easy to reserve by mobile, a little harder to scan (couldn’t get it to work and no one was there to scan it in). I enjoyed the exhibits and the sea otters are always my favorite. However, it’s a very small aquarium and overpriced by at least 50% on the ticket. It probably took me less than an hour to see everything.

After living here in Seattle for quite some time, I finally was able to make it to the Seattle Aquarium and it was well worth the wait. Attending during the COVID era of social distancing, everything was safe and clean, aisles and walkways clearly marked for one-way traffic. There are two standout areas of the main exhibit, including an amazing underwater dome, that really make this place special. But while that is great, the outdoor portion towards the end of the self-guided tour is equally as mesmerizing as you can really get to see many of the animals in their glory - unfiltered and playing and/or relaxing. You really get to experience it all here, and it is a highly recommended stop for locals and tourists alike.

They really put a lot of effort into making the aquarium safe and clean during this pandemic. There are cute aquatic themed signs telling you which way to go, and the section where you can normally touch sea creatures is all no-touch now, but you can still look! Really impressed with how they handled re-opening.

It's ok .compared to most city aquariums it's small and underwhelming. No sharks except a few small ones in the large some room. No shows going on not sure if they had any...I think they should definitely add more especially for a big city aquarium. Enjoyed my time with what I saw but have seen way bigger and better even in my home state of ct has two nice big ones that are better it seems this place should be much better

*Update* After more communication with the shop owner a miscommunication is what occurred. He reached out and offered to replace the tank for a new one and customer service was great after we were on the same page and he found out the manufacturer wasn’t going to help me with the tank. ——————————————————————- Bought an aquarium at this store. An employee helped us move the new tank into our car. After we got home I went to the side the employee helped moved to get it out of the car and noticed a chip on the corner of the tank. When messaged about it he insisted that it happened when we moved it after the store but we hadn’t taken it out of the car when spotted and the employee helped us get in the car who I later talked to and agreed we were careful loading it. I asked if he would be able to contact the manufacturer and see if they could be swapped out by the warranty or something to make this right but told me it was something I needed to handle since he says it didn’t happen there (im positive it did) it’s in a spot where you can’t see it so it would have been easy for them not to spot it. This wasn’t a cheap tank and I was excited to set it up. Now I’m nervous about filling it with water and flooding my apt. Currently trying to get a hold of the manufacturer and also need to find a new renters insurance that will cover water damage in case the tank goes out. It’s too bad because I really enjoyed this shop prior.

The staffs were really friendly, helpful and informative. The signage to ensure flow and distance were clear for me. They really ensure the capacity of the aquarium so ppl can keep their distances. In addition, my favorite were probably how they package the 'practical next steps' to avoid causing more harm to wildlife and environment. Next steps are practical and doable even for kids!

Excellent aquarium with a good variety of animals. The touch portion was great with readily accessible hand wash stations and several employees on hand to talk about everything in the tank. It was a little confusing walking around since there are multiple loops and no real direction for starting from, we almost missed a set of exhibits because of the way we went around.

Surprisingly awesome. Came in with low expectations based off other reviews. It is pricey, but worth it. Admittedly not much of an aquarium goer, but I thought the exhibits were well maintained and relevant to the area. Some very photogenic tanks. Came in on a Sunday, not that busy. Every Seattleite should go.

Really fun, interactive exhibits! We loved seeing the sea lions and the otters get fed their dinner. The location is just gorgeous - right on the water. It was quite crowded, since we went on a Saturday afternoon. It probably would have been less crowded in the morning.

The Seattle Aquarium is great - we went on a “after hours night” where they had food and drinks and it was super fun to stroll around and see the seals / otters / sunset. Would def come back and see it again - with that on the waterfront location I assume it gets pretty busy in the summer months with cruise people. They’re in the process of building a huge new addition across Alaskan Ave which will be a beautiful update to the space.

There are sea creatures, birds, and mammals. Ticket is $29 if you are from Washington State. ticket is higher for out of state residents. Plenty of parking around the pier. Expect to pay $0-$45 for parking (0-3 hours) photo booth picture cost $30. You can touch the starfish, sea cucumber, and sea urchin. Amazing experience for all ages and there's so much sea creature that will leave you in awe. 🦦🐟🐠🐡🦈

Beautiful aquarium that takes 1.5-2 hours, so it's not too big. Located on pier, close to Pike's Place Market. You will see native fish/animals from the Puget Sound. Some great touch pools to see starfish, sea cucumbers, sea anemones and other tide pool animals. Don't miss the river and sea otters, who are all adorable. Best part is the staff who will tell you amazing facts about all the animals you see; be sure to talk to them!

I was a bit disappointed at first (seemed very small) but the more you explore the more you find! This was fun, the cafe has a wonderful view and outdoor seating they have a decent menu but if you have picky kids like I do I would look at the menu beforehand. Parking right across the street was very expensive there is one right after a clearance gift shop that is WAY MORE AFFORDABLE $4/hr vs $12/hr 😳😳 literally next to each other by not much at all on the same street! Buy your tickets online They have plenty tanks to touch the starfish, crabs and etc Outside is where the fun begins and underground :) Pics don’t do it justice

Its a good place for kids specially. You can touch a few creatures. Seals and otters are main exhibit. Its not too huge and you can probably be done in 1-2 hours. Pike place market parking for 2 hours is included with your ticket. Make sure to ask for parking validation when you enter.

Took one and a half hours to explore. Great collection of coral reefs, jelly fish, sea urchins, seals, otters, salmon, sturgeon, crab, octopus, sea cucumbers, etc. There was a fishy smell all over so we avoided contact with surfaces. There were hand sanitizing stations. Got 2 hours of free parking from the Seattle waterfront, validated by the aquarium. There is a walk up line for non timed tickets which moved quickly. Not too crowded at 4 pm. Info booths with pics of fishes were helpful. Overall great experience 😃. Must visit one time.

For a small aquarium, they did an outstanding job. They have a lot of marine life, only a few mammals and birds. They are clearly a platform for conservation and there are many educational moments. There’s a touch pool as well. Mammals: two types of seals and some otters. Probably less than 10 kinds of sea birds. This can be a fairly quick visit or you can definitely take your time. The price was fair compared to aquariums of larger scale. The staff was extremely friendly too. There is a ton of stuff surrounding the aquarium to make a day of it.

Always a fun time! The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. We spent a little over an hour at the aquarium and then grabbed lunch at the waterfront. We were able to reserve the museum pass from the library to get free admission and also got two hours validated while parked at Pike Place Market Parking Garage.

We loved it here. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. There was a lot to see and do. They even have a special area for little kids. You get to touch some underwater creatures and explore many areas indoors and outdoors. The harbor seals were so cute and interactive with people. There are clean bathrooms, a deli/Cafe, and took us about 2 hours to see the whole thing.

We love coming to the aquarium! It’s in such a perfect spot and the layout is so manageable. It’s really easy to flow through all of the exhibits, and spend some time outside on the deck appreciating the ferries coming and going. My toddler especially loves the little kid play section, which I hope gets expanded in the new area of the aquarium opening up soon!

I Visited the seattle aquarium and was mesmerized by the enchanting underwater world. From vibrant coral reefs to graceful sea creatures, it's a captivating experience for all ages! Exotic fishes and real life sea mammals! I was so damn surprised to see it! This is the season they are damn active! Do visit!

  • 4/5 Angela G. 3 years ago on Google
The aquarium is open with ticket reservations now and while you can't touch anything in the touch pool you can still look and without crowds you can spend more time at the exhibits and see more. The otters are just as fun as always and now you don't have to crane your neck and stand on tiptoes to see them. We were the only ones at their exhibit when we were there! The gift shop is awesome too. I always find something I want to take home.

I truly loved it because of how much education there is. Not just on the animals and the sea-life but how we as humans affect them and what we can do to change it so we can all co-exist in a beautiful manner. The star subtraction was just due to the price. I felt it was too steep considering the size. I understand that SF is an expensive city but our aquarium in long beach charges roughly around the same and is 5 times bigger.... and it's in a tourist area as well. Other than that it was beautiful.

During the Covid 19 crud going on they remain quite clean & the staff are so friendly. Go early in the morning as soon as they open. The otters & Seals are out the most..

Great exhibits even with the added COVID restrictions (no feedings, 1-way only). We could even stop and snack at the (closed) outdoor cafe. My only complaint is that some of the tanks (especially towards the beginning) lacked fish labels, so we weren't 100% sure what we were looking at/for.

Having aquariums and zoos is important for cultural and social development. It's sad that there are more staff working than visitors at any given moment. Support by visiting them with safe distancing and masking or make a donation.

Took my teenage daughter mid-week and it was lovely. Not crowded at all, very quiet and we were able to take our time where we wanted to. It was bigger than I remembered, but still pretty small for a port city which is why I give it 4 stars. They've recently released their octopus into the wild, which is FANTASTIC and I'm very proud of them, but it was still kind of disappointing as she was always a favorite. They've got the whole thing marked for one-way traffic, which is a great idea but a couple of signs weren't completely clear, and we got stuck at one point because the couple in front of us wanted to watch the seahorses for a while (can't blame them, the seahorses are mesmerizing) and there wasn't enough room to get around them because there was another exhibit on the other side. We ended up watching the screen and learning more about the rockfish, which was fun too.

Nice small aquarium and good for an hour or two when visiting the city if you like to explore the under water world. They do a decent job of trying to get people to social distance by limiting the number of visitors through reservations and floor signage however with children and larger groups it would have been nice if staff were available in different areas to remind people as well. The exhibits are nice however I felt the price was a bit inflated for the experience. Also I wish there were staff available at the different areas to answer some of the many questions I had - you are left to try to read wall plaques and match what you are seeing to what is on the plaque photo.

VERY accommodating. I tore my ACL on my knee and had been crutching around the waterfront, and my family wanted to go to the aquarium. Somewhat reluctantly and decided to just swollow the pain I might go through crutching around a big aquarium. We walked to the enterance where we were greeted by a very kind lady. She immediately recognized my issue, and quickly offered to get me a complimentary wheel chair so that I could best enjoy my visit. Me, being stubborn, I said I think I'd be okay. She then pleaded that I use a wheelchair. I agreed. And WOW am I thankful I took that wheelchair. There is so much to look at there and it would not have been fun AT ALL to have to worry about the pain. We took our sweet time and enjoyed every minute of it.

For a city that sits on water and for $30 admission I expected much more . The aquarium is small and the collection is limited; I expected to see shark, sea turtle, ray , and other big marine creatures . The sea horse is tiny and there is only two kinds of jellyfish . The octopus was sleeping because it’s nocturnal (active only at night) , so who’s gonna see the octopus moving ? Ghosts?

This place was the best, but sadly I missed the great Pacific octopus which was my main reason for going. They should perhaps warn visitors of this as it's a rare attraction - i can't be the only person who went specifically to see it. Or maybe I am just that big of a dork. But I shouldn't be forced to confront that fact.

When we first walked in there was an employee in scuba gear in the tank that had a microphone and was telling us about the fish and wildlife she was working with. It was very cool! I was disappointed with the dome tank. We were hoping to see more sharks. But everything else was really cool! It was also nice to be able to step outside and see the Puget Sound. Also, the otters and seals were so cute!

I loved going here. The guides here I believe were volunteering, from what I remember. They were really informative and nice. It was a really cool experience to have the spiny sea creatures close their spikes around my finger because they "sensed" it was there, crazy cool. Their spikes can't penetrate human skin to poison people, just little fish, which they eat.

Made a small order with them this week. Shipping was fast and the packaging was great. The frag plugs were super clean and their system must be relatively pest free cause a dip resulted in no visible pest. All the frags looked great. BEST ONLINE STORE BY FAR! My husband Chris and I are new to Salt Water Aquariums and live where there isn't many fish stores besides PetCo so we decided to order online from 4 different stores. Seattle Corals being one of them and BY FAR THE BEST! Not only is the selection great but the customer service was A+ speaking directly with Nima who was fantastic and very helpful. The pricing is very reasonable and the coral we ordered are absolutely beautiful! The BEST part for us was the PACKAGING (other stores should take note on the care in the packaging) putting each coral into a protective container and then bagged and boxed with heat packs...so as not to squish or stress them out while being delivered on a cold truck. Having to open a box filled with dead, dying, stressed or squished live animals like fish/coral/shrimp is very sad. We will be making all our orders from Seattle Corals from now on and will post pictures soon. The whole order showed up unstressed and each item was beautiful just llike the pictures and nice sizes. Thank you so much!!!!!

Covid style the touch pools are all closed. But they do have fun and friendly staff that energetically tell you about the creatures in the pools. They don't super micro-manage you like some places do now with rules Rules RULES (looking at your WP zoo), so it has the same fun feel as before just with masks now and no touching to explore. You get to go through everything once on a one way path, but when you are done you get the option of going back through any exhibit that you want, so of course we went back to the octopus because that is my littles favorite. Takes about an hour and a half for us to get through at a leisurely pace stopping at each exhibit. Very family friendly and fun activity that ALL my kids can enjoy at once.

It was an awesome experience for my 4 and 6 year olds! My boyfriend and I have been before and it seemed the exact same as when we were kids. I DIDNT rate it with more stars due to the insane price, it cost our family of 4 $120 for 2 hours of watching fish swim and some Otters and Seals play, then was rushed through the gift shop because they could only have 15 people at a time due to Covid which I didn't appreciate.

Awesome aquarium! Bought tickets at 5pm (last call), and was able to tour the aquarium with little to no other visitors present. Upon entering, I was met with a wall of sea life. On the side of it was a cylinder enclave that allowed for great photos. Passing the wave/ reef simulation, I entered the "touch pool" (but not able to do so to date), and was met with 2 very knowledgeable employees who answered my every question about the sea life present. Giant Pacific Octopus caught my attention as it sprawled its glass aquarius. After the fish tanks, the bird area, and the overhead aquarium dome, I was stuck watching the otters play. 1 spun in the water constantly (wish I knew if that was normal), while the other 2 floated on their backs. After, salmon exhibit and River Otters paved the way to the exit. Store was closed at this time as I left, and proceeded down the pier to watch a wonderful sun set slowing making it's way down the mountain ranges of Washington. Fin.

Even covid right now the place are more safe to go due to more regulations and more staff are on duty and i think if they keep the capacity the way it is. It will be much better. I do recommend this aquarium.

  • 5/5 Martha T. 3 years ago on Google
Our timed entry was smooth and with the capacity limit, going wasn't over crowded and we were able to enjoy our own pace through each exhibit. The team members were very friendly and insightful when we had questions about the fish!

Kids love their day stay of fun and observe marine creatures. The uniquely arranged aquarium and color effects brings the magical water like you are under sea water. We definitely experience the underwater adventure without going under! They also have food court which offer variety of sumptuous meals. Highly recommend this place. If you are lucky you will see a scuba diver and a performer wearing mermaid costume dancing inside the big aquarium.

An amazing place and a good way to support the Aquarium is through purchasing stuff from the gift shop. The clothing is made from recycled bottles, so that's so cool. The clothing is extremely soft! I also got some cute keychains and a book that called to me. It's not a Huge huge place but its definitely enough to excite people and really give you a good look at pacific sea life. The education is very cool and there is a touch room! Which is good for younger kids.

  • 5/5 Jessica H. 2 years ago on Google
Not a huge aquarium but very clean and you can tell their efforts are conservation at its finest. Spoke to a few of the biologists working in the different areas and you can tell they love the animals and what they do. Especially liked the octopus, Licorice. Very quaint aquarium with alot of charm.

  • 3/5 xoSkyCloudss :. 2 years ago on Google
It's nice small center. Fun to take the kids there once in awhile. Kind of pricey, it's like $34 or $35 per adult. And They don't have shark in the aquarium, no sea turtles, missing lots of basic sea lives like, lobsters, squid. They have one giant lonely octopus in a narrow tank.

  • 5/5 Veronika S. 2 years ago on Google
Really fun! Lots of seals, otters, and fish to look at. A little pricey, but worth it because you can touch the alge and sea urchins! Sea urchins give your finger a hug! Love it!

I had so much fun and absolutely loved seeing all of the animals and different species! My two favorite things that I saw were the Octopus and the underwater dome with all of the fish!!! I LOVE Aquariums - and this was definitely at the top of the list of places I wanted to visit in Seattle - however I wouldn't make it yours - especially if you are a fan of Aquariums. Some of the enclosures seemed to not be healthy for the animals. I posted a picture of some fish that were just swimming in place in one tank, a TINY Octopus tank and a bare and small tank where a 'seal?' literally swam in circles for the 10 minutes I was watching it. The touch tanks had two tiny sinks with 1/2 ply paper towels to keep people clean. The sinks themselves seemed unsanitary and having to use the sink area in order to dry your hands was a waste of efficiency and hygiene. The aquarium seemed to be mostly centered on tropical fish and had little eye capturing educational material. There was an area dedicated to Salmon that was shoved in a corner. The gift shop was TERRIBLE - every clothing item only had 1-2 sizes available and when asked an employee stated that there were no more sizes available. They had few to no souvenir sized stuff animals and nothing that tied back to a particular animal that someone would've seen in the aquarium, other than the clothing and other commonly mass produced items, everything seemed like it was picked out a catalog of random 'aquarium' things. Perfect opportunity to collaborate with the Ice Hockey team and their Kraken was completely wasted.

  • 4/5 Sheilla T. 2 years ago on Google
Nice place but its very small. Took maybe less than 30 minutes to walk through and we spent more time in the gift shop than the aquarium. Ok experience

  • 5/5 Jonah O. 2 years ago on Google
They have a lot more animals here than I expected. The prices are high but once you get inside you can immediately see where all of that money is going. There is a tide pool touching exhibit, bird and land mammal exhibits, rip tide tanks. The price is bit something I would be willing to pay often but for a one time experience it was worth it.

My wife and I love the sea and it's animals. We visit every aquarium we can. This place was very clean and organized, we only wish it was bigger especially for the size of the entry fee.

  • 5/5 Chris H. 2 years ago on Google
It’s a very nice aquarium with a lot of interesting exhibits. Most of them are very well done however we felt bad for the sea lion. I hope they redo his home in the future.

  • 4/5 Libni C. 2 years ago on Google
I would say the only bad thing about the Aquarium is that it is hard to find parking around (but that's Seattle for you) and that in my opinion it is on the smaller side; however, the exhibits were very well done, and their staff extremely passionate and educational, you could spend hours in the dome alone and I absolutely loved meeting and learning about Mochi (resident octopus) the Aquarium is definitely a must see staple in Seattle.

  • 3/5 Mish S. 2 years ago on Google
It was a quiet day at the Seattle Aquarium. Small but some nice exhibits. Convenient location near Pike Place Market...part of City Pass Ticket

  • 4/5 Awnye F. 2 years ago on Google
I loved the interactive aspect. We were able to pet the starfish, anemones, and sea cucumbers. I wish there were sharks or small whales, but the exhibits they do have are nice.

  • 5/5 Michael B. 2 years ago on Google
Great aquarium, but admittedly a little underwhelming when you get in and realize the place is very small. Nonetheless, it's a fun little aquarium with neat exhibits and animals to see, and being situated right off the pier makes for great waterfront views. Kinda pricey for entry given the size of the establishment, but the funds go to a good cause. Worth checking out!

  • 3/5 Dustin E. 2 years ago on Google
I am sure that the Seattle Aquarium does honorable preservation work and contributes to the marine sciences through research. From a visitor standpoint, however, the Seattle Aquarium has limited offerings. It seems that coral reefs are the speciality, making up the lion share of the exhibits. These are crucial to life and a joy to observe.

  • 4/5 Kyle H. 2 years ago on Google
Overall a very enjoyable experience! The staff was friendly, and some of the larger tanks connected to the bay had a ton of fish and were incredibly fun to sit and watch. The additional exhibits of birds and sea lions and otters were also really nice.

  • 4/5 Alicia C. 2 years ago on Google
It was smaller than I was expecting (that's what she said!). But we were delighted to watch an octopus devour a large grab, river otters playing or fighting?, and my most favorite part was the tiny dwarf cuddle fish exhibit. I could have watched those cuddle fish all day... I want to take them home with me! The staff were great and took in a bunch of bags for us so we could walk around comfortably. I also really enjoyed the bird portion of the exhibit and chatting with the staff about their rehabilitation and each birds unique personality. 4 stars for price and because I've been to more impressive aquariums for this price.

  • 3/5 K F. 2 years ago on Google
Fine aquarium, not too big not too small. Very friendly and helpful staff. Way too many kids running around screaming. I'm not sure if this is the new parenting technique, but it makes it quite uncomfortable for anyone without kids to be around. Probably wouldn't do it again.

  • 4/5 Jen 2 years ago on Google
It's a small but very nice aquarium. There's some amazing native fish tanks that you can just sit and enjoy. Their octopus Mochi is super cool! He's very active at odd hours, so there's a good chance you can catch him wriggling around his tank.

  • 4/5 Rebecca G. 2 years ago on Google
A nice experience with smaller exhibits and touch pools. Better suited for children, can be finished within 1 to 2 hrs.

  • 5/5 Meg 2 years ago on Google
As a homeschooling mom of 2 I love the amount of education we get from each visit at the Seattle aquarium. They are so good about hands on learning with kids when it comes to the touch and explore tanks. We enjoy that they do feedings throughout the day so you’re more than likely to see a feeding of some sort during your visit. Customer service is always outstanding and very helpful. I would highly recommend a visit to the Seattle aquarium. For families that are members of the KCLS (king county library system) you can get a free Seattle aquarium museum pass that will allow 4 visitors every 90 days. Enjoy!

  • 5/5 Cindy F. 2 years ago on Google
I've been visiting the Seattle aquarium for well over a decade now since I moved to the Seattle area, and every experience was great. Parking is especially difficult to find but if you go either an hour or so before close (they stop letting people in at 5pm I believe) or during weekday early afternoons it shouldn't be too hard to find a spot. Staff is friendly and willing to answer any questions about the aquarium animals which I always appreciate! The tourist shop there is definitely on the expensive side though, I wouldn't buy there unless I wanted to consider it a donation to the aquarium. Spacious and lots of beautiful exhibits, definitely a must-visit for those in the Seattle area!

  • 5/5 Joshua P. 2 years ago on Google
Best aquarium I've been to. Very educational. Beautiful fish, corals, anemones, jellies, and mammals. Favorite parts were the petting zoo of sea creatures of the Salish sea and of course the sea and river otters. Must see for Seattle

  • 5/5 Andrew J. 2 years ago on Google
Great little aquarium. It's a perfect place to bring kids and despite its size, the aquarium has quality exhibits. We spent something like 1.5 hours here and had a swell time. The employees are all super knowledgeable and seem to enjoy talking. There's also a cafe on site if you need to catch lunch. There's currently a time entry system and they do a great job enforcing it. It didn't feel crowded at all while we were there.

  • 4/5 Jamyang L. 2 years ago on Google
We got in a little after two and by the time we worked our way through the other exhibits, we enjoyed some dinner time antics from the otters! Plus there are some stunning views and the staff is so informative. Lots of sanitizing stations and it wasn't too crowded so we felt safe.

  • 5/5 Eric Yue M. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic place for kids and adults interested in marine life. One can probably visit every other week without getting bored -- and thus getting a lot out of the membership. I'd recommend timing your visit to see the special feeding session by a scuba diver at the large tank near the entrance. Bring a foldable stool if you have young children. They have free parking vouchers for the garage across the street.

  • 5/5 Clifton 2 years ago on Google
Had a great time. Wonderful staff that can answer any questions. Awesome facility that has a litany of habitats and information. The touch tank is a lot of fun. You're going to see many different species, including some awesome invertebrates, fish, seals, and everyone's favorite otters! Say hello to the octopus for me.

  • 5/5 Jessica S. 2 years ago on Google
This was my second time to this aquarium and it is simply fantastic! They do a great job of enforcing safety with regards to Covid protocol. Several sanitizer stations throughout. Every staff member I interacted with was very kind and helpful. Several staff members were able to provide fascinating details about some of the animals and were happy to answer questions from the guests. We were lucky enough to observe "Mochi" the octopus put on quite the show (definitely the most active octopus I've ever seen)!

  • 5/5 Maria K. 1 year ago on Google
We love to visit the Seattle Aquarium, and that's why we have a Family Membership. When you after paying, and getting a group photo, you're greeted by a floor to ceiling sea wall that will captive you. Walk along the tide (encased in glass) as you make your way past the well priced souvenir shop, to the start of the attraction. We adore the sleepy octopus, the round jellyfish section - great for you influences, the sea lions and the otters! Have fun, great for a rainy day, but know there is still lots of construction all along where the viaduct once resided.

Fun place for the kiddos. New building planned in 2025 with a lot of new exhibits, currently under construction. Lots of fish, coral, and sea mammals to observe. Restaurant upstairs has some excellent food. A great place to visit if you are hanging around pike market.

This aquarium is small but mighty. I do not understand the negative reviews. It seems people are expecting Sea World!! (This was part of the City Pass I purchased.) The touch pools were a highlight even to my teenage son. Loved the unique 3D jellyfish enclosure. I actually have a picture of my son smiling while looking at it. Sadly the octopus was asleep while we were there. The diversity of fish was amazing. Loved the otters.

Most of the aquariums in the U.S. are located on the water, but this one has a really cool location on a pier in Seattle! This aquarium was very clean and spacious and well-designed. It was much less busy in the morning when it first opened. The views from the aquarium are amazing! It's in a very walkable area and close to other attractions. There is a nice mix of fish, marine mammals, and birds. We had lunch in the cafe, which was okay, but very expensive. The gift shop is nice and has a good selection.

  • 4/5 Ryan B. 9 months ago on Google
The Seattle Aquarium had a lot of interesting things to see. It was clean and the exhibits well maintained. The touching pools were very interesting. I was impressed with the staff there and how they interact with kids intent on breaking the rules. I think I would lose my mind doing that all day, but they handle it well. We came to the seal exhibit (very cool to see!) just after they did a presentation. We stayed for over an hour waiting for the next one, but it looks like they only do it infrequently. Even if it was just informational with no interaction with the seals, it would be welcome to have more of that type of thing for the most interesting exhibits. Overall, great experience. They provided a sensory kit for my autistic son which is really neat.

  • 3/5 Alison W. 9 months ago on Google
A decent sized aquarium in the heart of a city, the Seattle Aquarium is a nice stop, but not a must do. The touch tanks were more extensive than some of the aquariums I've visited with a few different tide pool creatures than usual. The enclosures for several of the animals were difficult to see through with either condensation (penguins) or light reflections (octopus). Small viewing areas gave animals a bigger enclosure space (in some instances), but made for crowded views and frustrations when more than a few people were trying to see. I did enjoy the gift shop and some of the unique animals other aquariums don't usually house, so a 3.

  • 5/5 Coby T. 8 months ago on Google
LOVED IT!! Big fan of rehabilitation aquariums in general but honestly it was such a great experience. Booked in advance so got in with no line. Was a bit crowded but not too bad for a Saturday. The guises are very kind and helpful and the animals seem well taken care of!

  • 5/5 Simon H. 8 months ago on Google
We allowed time for our visit based on the average dwell times on Google, unfortunately, an hour and a half wasn't long enough! There is a lot to see (and touch) here. We could have comfortably spent another hour there. We were unlucky and there was a rowdy summer camp crowd which spoiled the tranquility of some of the areas. The 'touch ponds' at the beginning were great, it's unusual you can touch the exhibits! We would have spent longer in the domed area which was great, however, the kids stopped the tranquility and we left. I would allow 2-2.5 hours at least here if you want to make the most of what's on offer.

  • 5/5 Eliza A. 8 months ago on Google
Great venue for the size; it winds from a grand entrance into a touch tank and octopus zone, followed by a coral cave, and then you head outside for the indoor/outdoor exhibits like the sea otters, seals, and puffins. There is a requisite fish dome and jelly fish ring. All that's missing is sharks, though they are expanding the plan is still to feature Pacific Northwest flora and fauna. The TV's to help identify the fish are nice, but they rotate slowly so you won't always see the fish you want on the screen. Can get crowded in the summer, so plan accordingly! Clean facility, happy animals, knowledgeable staff. We usually reserve the free King county library tickets to go here.

  • 5/5 Lindsey R. 8 months ago on Google
Great aquarium and full of a lot of educational information about the area, its marine life and, human impact. It boasts one of the biggest aquariums in the country. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip here

  • 4/5 Akshata R. 4 months ago on Google
Nice big, clean aquarium, but have seen bigger ones with more sea animals ( Tennessee, Georgia) , was a quick visit in comparison to the bigger aquariums. Sea otter show was fun. Sea otter and sea lions are a must see. Visited on a weekday in November, ticket purchase was quick and the entire tour took just and hour or so. The aquarium wasn’t crowded. Walked to the giant wheel right next to it, was able to do that in ~20 mins and then walked over to Pike Market place for lunch. It might take longer if with kids.

  • 5/5 Matthew B. 4 months ago on Google
Very nice aquarium! Lots of awesome fish in tanks where you can see the fish and the fish are well taken care of. Awesome place. Definitely a must go if you are in the area. And it's good pricing too!

Less a big exhibit and more a sea life learning centre. Seems perfect to kill some hours with younger kids. But for us adults, not a big attraction. We were mildly entertained and it was fine for it being included with our city pass and to hide from the rain for an hour.
