Went on the first of January and they still had some snow from the week before but all the pathways were very well cleaned and salted. Couldn’t see some of the animals because of the cold I guess (it was a 27° kind of day). Some staff giving out some good information here and there like in the polar bear place. Cute Christmas lights all around and enough coffee and food shops. Some fun places for kids all ages to play around too. Totally wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Loved loved loved!! Absolutely amazing how the zoo felt like it was part of the natural landscape. Amazingly curated of animals with educational information to learn more about the individual animals and its species. The way the zoo flows just makes sense and keeps the flow of people moving. (*only thing I would say is don’t go in a colder day because some of the animals were not out to see)

The Zoo lights during Christmas holidays are very nice, they did a great job decorating the beautiful lights in different animal shapes, and the big Christmas tree at the entrance is very cool. We enjoyed walking around in the park and seeing all kinds of animals lights. Definitely a good place to go at night with family and friends to have some holiday fun. Prepared for big lines for the train rides. Wish they have opened more areas, it feels smaller than before.

We explored the zoo today and had a lovely time! Two adults, two teenagers and a toddler found the zoo to be very engaging and the setting is beautiful to boot. We arrived around 9:30 and didn’t experience any wait time and the crowds were pretty minimal. It took us about 3 hours to see just about everything, including riding the train and the carousel, which aren’t included in the ticket price. I don’t know if I can pinpoint a favorite part because there were so many awesome exhibits, truly a phenomenal zoo!

Oregon Zoo is literally the best zoo I have ever been to. They literally put the zoo around the forest and nature instead of taking down trees and making it a “zoo”. PSA: You have to buy your tickets in advance on the website and the time you’re going to go. Tickets sell fast so get them the day before. Parking is not free and you have to pay at the stations when you park. Plenty of parking but wish the spaces were a big bigger because it felt very slim. The entrance was beautiful and you’re just engorged by the beauty it has to behold. There’s plenty to see and I did not think we were going to spend 3 hours there but we did and we didn’t even know it! Food was good and not overly priced like other places. I really enjoyed my time here at this zoo and would definitely go again.

I felt this zoo is underrated and should be more famous. The setting is beautifully done and each animal is given a lot of space to move around unlike the typical zoos. Probably this was the reason, every animal in here was actively moving around rather than lethargically lying in a corner. This makes it a fun experience for adults and kids alike. There were also some unusual exhibits like - Vultures feeding on a whole deer carcass which you can view at your own discretion, a beaver who has an underwater home inside a tunnel, weaver birds busy weaving pretty nests, playful otters, a mountain goat and much more. It's divided into ecosystems like African savanna, Polar passage, Primate forest, Great Northwest etc. There are other interactive experiences at different times and also a zoo train for five bucks. We went two hours before closing and had to rush through everything to complete on time. Ample amount of paid parking available.

You're the best things I've ever been to personally. Comparing it to the San Francisco and Oakland zoo it just barely edges them out I really like the long path that the elephants have. They have a nice variety of animals. It's well shaded so even on hot days it's not unbearable and of course it's fine on cool days. One thing to notice that there's a petting zoo which can be fun for younger children. Depends themselves are really well organized if you read the signs you'll never miss any of it. The staff is friendly and resourceful so if you have any questions just ask. Portable animals include bears goats tigers cheetahs elephants elk giraffes red pandas lemurs monkeys lions both River and sea otters. Definitely go if you have the time but if you miss it for other stuff in Portland I'd understand.

Wife and I had a great time at the Oregon zoo. It was amazing to see the Polar bears. The zoo keeper calling them so that the public could see. They have a great structure in the zoo. Nice food (must try the elephant ears), great washrooms, lots of places ti site and take some rest. You can see the animals are well cared for. The gift shop is also a great stop, with lots of sustainable gifts. Staff is very polite and helpful.

Best medium sized zoo I've been to. The winding paths and elevation gains and losses create an adventure walk. Everything seems very well designed, organized, and enjoyable. The one way design makes navigating the crowds easier. Lots of food options about half way through is great. Elephant ears were a hit and we enjoyed the lunch we packed under a 4 bench picnic table with an umbrella. It was a workout making our way back up to the entrance. If we had more time, we would have enjoyed the train ride. Plan to go back if in town again in future.

The Zoo is a everlasting source of joy, offering year-round fun for all ages. With kids in tow, our visits are never hurried, and that's part of the charm—we always discover something new every time we visit. Having cherished memories of this zoo since my own childhood, I've witnessed remarkable changes. The upgrades and new exhibits have transformed it into a captivating space. And let's talk about the Zoo Lights—it's a must-see! While there may not be many animals on display during this event, the breathtaking lights make up for it. The Zoo Lights experience is pure magic. The dazzling display creates a spectacular atmosphere, and the best part is, you can go at your own pace. It's a mesmerizing journey that adds an extra layer of enchantment to this already fantastic place. In summary, the Zoo offers not just a fun time but also a touch of magic, especially during Zoo Lights. The upgrades and thoughtful additions have truly elevated the experience. Highly recommend for families and anyone seeking a delightful escape!

This zoo was nice...I could see all the animals. When u get there....u need to get a parking ticket. Price is determined on how many hours u are gonna stay. Then I noticed that I needed to buy my ticket online so did that by the entrance...very fast...done. I enjoyed the zoo even though it was raining this day.

Went to the Oregon Zoo with family. Age range from 65 to 1 ½, with stroller. Nice February Sunday afternoon. Everyone had a good time. A lot of the activities / informative shows were not in operation. Some animals were not visible, hibernating or just hiding. We still had an enjoyable time I definitely recommend.

We called and asked when the carousel would be open and planned a family trip for my daughter’s fourth birthday to ride it and to see the animals. When we got there, she was so sad to see that the carousel was not open. We called and asked why it wasn’t running, and they explained it was so slow they just didn’t have the man power to run it. My husband explained it was our daughter’s birthday and the man came down right away and turned it on and let her ride a few times before turning it back off again. It made me pretty teary to know that they went out of their way to give my daughter the birthday she wanted. With everything happening in the world, it’s truly an inconsequential thing, but it really, honestly made her birthday such a special and amazing day. And we will not forget this kindness any time soon. Hogle Zoo is always one of our favorites. We love slow, winter days. But this has forever cemented it as one of our all time favorite places to come. We’re so grateful for you guys for being the amazing, caring place that went out of your way to help out my kid - especially when it would’ve been so easy to just say no. Thank you!!

Beautiful and well taken care of place for families with kids and anyone who enjoys nature and animals. Animals are really well taken care of and the staff makes it an easy, well mapped out flow for visitors! I was lucky to visit in a 70F cloudy day, but I’ve seen places dedicated to cooling off if you visit in the summer. Also, there are plenty of restrooms, sanitation stations and places where you can get food. Love it!

Beautiful light display!! I am thrilled that I finally experienced it! I think to go in my car was nice because I stayed warm!! If you like to take a lot of pictures there is the problem of the cars in front of you with their brake lights! There was a very small amount of lights not working, but not enough for most people to notice. The employees were very nice and helpful. We had a car full of people, so it was worth the money paid. I definitely do recommend seeing this, at least once. I am thrilled that the Zoo does this every year to help support their work for the animals!☺️❤️

A great zoo for all ages. There is a lot to see and a fair amount of snack stands and areas to have lunch with the family. The eagles and cougars like to get close to the glass and the majestic condors are a must see. We've been several times and now that its spring, the polar bears, grizzly bears, and tiger are far more active and playful in the warm sun. Bring a blanket and a picnic or have lunch at the zoos pizza shop or AfriCafe.

The Oregon Zoo is one of a kind! Many exhibits and a lot of ongoing work for the wellbeing of their animals in their care and around the world. A lot of conservative work. The food is really good too! The gift shop is a bit over priced...but very cute. Parking is simple and the overall grounds are easy to navigate.

Our family loves visiting this zoo. Besides normal visits, throughout the year, the zoo hosts fun events, like zoo lights, zoo nights, Halloween, etc. Our son loves looking at the variety of animals, especially the ones he has particular interest. The zoo also has a train he loved riding on, which does cost for each family member to ride on. If you plan on visiting more than twice I'd recommend getting an annual pass. Also, keep in mind you'll need to reserve a time slot before arriving. A great place to enjoy any time of the year!

Wow what an amazing zoo! The amount of trees and shade is wonderful on a hot day, the animals had a lot of room to roam and looked very healthy, and all the facilities were well kept. We came on a Friday morning when they opened. We bought our tickets via mobile phone maybe 15 minutes before we entered prior to getting into our car to drive there. There was still a decent amount of availability. Entering was easy with the QR code we received. We saw some otters, bears, went on a merry-go-round, and had a blast!

I traveled around the US a lot and in almost every state I visit, I try to make a stop at their zoo since I love animals. This Zoo is one of the best across the US. The animals are all active and playful. The layout is very good and easy to follow so you don't need a map and there are no crossroads. The animals seemed happy and there are volunteers at different spots to help you with information and background stories. It is a must visit if you are in Portland.

Just posting this review now (Dec 2020) but went last year (Mar 2019). I really enjoyed going here. The flow of the zoo felt natural and really enjoyed how you go from exhibit to exhibit. I live in California so going from the zoos throughout the state here to this one was very impressive. Unfortunately when i went there was much of the zoo under construction. I am unaware at how much the pandemic has hindered construction here, but I know that these projects that they were working on were some that I was super excited about! Definitely wanting to make a trip again when the pandemic dies down a bit! Enjoy some of my shots from the trip!

Had a great time at the zoo. Lots of exhibits were closed because of Corona virus and there's a one way path. Personally, not worth the money right now, but after being closed for over 100 days, I wanted to help. Parking is $2 a hour or $8 all day, would recommend getting there close to opening so you don't have to deal with crowds.

The Oregon zoo is an absolute must do for kids of all ages! The facilities are top rate and gorgeous. There are fun play areas for small children. Accessibility is excellent for all. There are food courts and lots of places to sit and enjoy a meal. You can enjoy various locations from around the world such as Africa, South America, and the Pacific Northwest and all the animals that go with it. There are bathroom facilities conveniently located throughout the park. To step the park up even more you can take a ride on the zoo train. Overall just a terrific experience.

Amazing experience! So many animals to see. Easy walking with all paths paved. Purchasing tickets online is easy. 3 hours was barely enough time to scratch the surface of what this Zoo has to offer. Early morning is best to avoid crowds. Will be back!

All of the animals looked to be in great shape and had beautiful habits. Had to pay for parking and tickets online but that was simple to due. Zoo has a really easy layout to be able to see everything without backtrack or missing anything.

I’ll be honest - at first I wasn’t sure it would be worth the $24 admission fee, but I loved my visit to the Oregon Zoo! I went with my (adult) brother. I definitely thought it would be more of a kid-centric activity but I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve been to a fair amount of zoos (including the Smithsonian Zoo in DC) and this is the most beautiful one I’ve been to. The landscaping was gorgeous and I loved the way it was laid out and each section flowed into the next. We easily spent 2.5 hours there and could’ve spent another 30-60 minutes. The exhibits have tons of info, there are so many animals to see, and we didn’t really take in any of the interpretive talks aside from one lovely volunteer talking to us about the orangutans. I loved the otters and the Africa section. The tropical bird building was really fun too. I’d definitely go again! Paying for parking was a bit annoying but looks like transit access is super convenient and honestly, $2/hr isn’t awful. You’re supposed to buy your ticket in advance and reserve a time - we did this when we arrived on a weekday in October and didn’t have any issues.

Our family trip to the Oregon Portland Zoo during the Christmas season was enchanting, even amidst the rain. Packing an umbrella and waterproof clothing is a must for this magical experience. The animal-shaped lights brought an incredible allure as we wandered through the zoo. The sparkling trees and the Christmas train ride added to the festive spirit. Although our main focus was the breathtaking lights, catching a glimpse of the elephants and the bats became the highlight of our visit. While there weren't many live animals to see, it didn't detract from our enjoyment. This festive light display is a must-do at least once during the Christmas season. A truly mesmerizing and unforgettable experience for the whole family!

I really appreciated everything the Oregon Zoo is doing to follow precautions by social distancing. They allow small groups of people into crowded areas at a time. They have paw prints on the ground for you to follow so you don't miss anything and don't backtrack. It was a beautiful day when I visited. I'm excited to see if ”Zoo Lights” are still happening this year. Fingers crossed!

We have visited Edinburgh Zoo many times, always a pleasure to explore and see the animals. Some of the pathways can be challenging since it is built on an incline but definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

When you go to a zoo, you have certain minimum expectations for getting some close up views of your favourite animals - it becomes even more critical of you are with a little one who doesn't care about the nitty-gritty details of the habitat or a large variety of little birds. The zoo stuff must be well aware of the particular habits and schedules of their spotlight animals: lions, tigers, hippos, giraffes - and they might want to advise the visitors paying over £50 per family of 3 that they may be better off by coming in at a certain time of the day to see those favourite animals in action. We were disappointed because all we saw was: panda's bottom, tiger's paw, giraffe's scaffoldings, sleepwalking lions and chimps. All in all, it may be a good park where you may spot some animals, but definitely not the best bang for the buck.

I have been to this Zoo and it is an exceptionally beautiful and gorgeous zoo. All the staff including the owner's of this zoo do an exceptionally incredible job at looking after all of the animal's kept at this zoo. I would recommend everybody in the whole world to come and visit this beautiful and gorgeous zoo and it is definitely worth a visit. In adding another thing this is one of my favourite Zoo's. The owner of this Zoo is an Exceptionally Marvellous person as well. Also all of the staff that work at this zoo in collaboration with the owner are all Exceptionally marvellous people themselves.

Great zoo for a smallish city. Nothing world shattering, but well organized with a nice variety of animals and efforts to treat them well. They also have some fun, not-too-expensive semi-private experiences with the animals. They do an annual Zoo Lights events around the holidays that is a highlight.

Beautiful zoo with well curated paths and enclosures. It was a little rainy when we were there but almost all the animals were out and visible. Lots of educational things along the paths. They have cheetahs which are my favorite and they were right up by the glass grooming each other 😊

A good zoo. My child had a great time watching animals. We were able to watch the zookeepers explain more on elephants and the polar bear. The only downside would be the food. The cafés could be improved though. The lion enclosure was the best!!

07/08/23: the ticket is $24 per non-membership adult, and I thought it was a little bit expensive for a zoo ticket. However, the zoo experience did not disappoint me, and I enjoyed every minute of there There are tons of animal shows which are at 11:15 am and 1 pm. We visited on Saturday morning, and it got crowded quickly with parents and children. The Oregon Zoo is completely beating the Seattle Zoo in many factors: animal diversity, sceneries, and food trucks. I would love to be back soon

This is the best zoo that I’ve ever been to! Big zoo with lots of animals, I got to see a polar bear here and it was so beautiful. There were many boards that provided further information about the habitat and the anatomy of the animals - I learned so much from it. There was a show where they showcase some animals from other zoos - the birds (eg. eagle) actually flied from the cage to the stage! Definitely worth visiting! Expect to spend 2h+ here as there are a lot of animals to see

I love this zoo, as a member family we come every week during the summer. The train and merry-go-round are very reasonable, and my kids love the sand box too. The architectural details they’ve added since I was a kid coming here are so wonderful, I love the attention to detail aesthetically, the pacing of the exhibits, and it seems like we find a new delight with each visit. I usually bring a picnic for us to enjoy, and I noticed today there was additional seating in the shade, which was really thoughtful on such a hot day.

Came to visit as part of the Zoo Lights winter experience and the money was so worth it. While we couldn't see all the animals, we definitely saw enough. My favorite part was the insect zoo and indoor elephant arena where you see elephants feeding. Watching the elephants interact with each other and feed was the most entertaining part. The Christmas lights look so much better once the sun sets and there are a lot of cool shots you can take. Surprisingly, there are a lot of food stands with different types of snacks. Not surprising were the steep prices. All in all, I would go here again.

Had a wonderful time touring the zoo with the family. Got to see almost all of it in an afternoon. Even stopped for an elephant ear treat. We loved the exhibits. It’s nice to have stops along the way to walk in for air conditioning. Would love for their to be more dietary options, especially for Gluten Free people. My husband ended up not eating anything because he didn’t want a salad. Lactose free ice cream options too would be awesome! We love the zoo and will continue to be members!

The Oregon Zoo is located on Canyon Rd. In Portland, Oregon right next to the Max line and in the same parking lot as The Children's Museum. They have so much to do all year around. I frequent the zoo at least one time a year, during the summer months and every year I attend the zoo lights at Christmas. So if you've never seen the Zoo at the holiday season...its a must see! Its a good idea to check the website for all events and listings for their hours of operation as they may change frequently per season! I give The Oregon Zoo ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for such fantastic events and organization of blending all the holiday events so beautifully. The Zoo is very clean, and all the animals are cared for so well. There is always something to do if you are looking for entertainment for the whole family! I know that my autistic son just loved to come to the zoo no matter what time of year, and he was not an easy child to please at times. It wore down some of the energy he had been storing up over the colder seasons too! Please remember to check the website for pricing and incidentals before you go... those looking to stay within a budget, can find coupons for buy one, get one free and discounted admissions on the website and in the Oregonian Newspaper. Local businesses like to promote and support each other by offering discounts to senior citizens and students as well! Be safe & have fun! 😉

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit! My partner and I stopped by in mid November, 2020. The park was set up to allow safe spacing for all visitors during the COVID pandemic. This was one of my favorite zoo's I've ever visited! The animal variety was incredible. Each exhibit was spacious and the placards detailed the special care given to each animal. The staff were helpful, informative, and courteous. I hope to visit again!

Very family friendly! I have been here several times. And each time the family loved it, the place never gets boring since there is something new each and every time you go back. BUT! In the winter time it can be very very cold! There's also no water fountains turned on because of the winter. So make sure to bring water and things to keep you warm, or you will have kids bugging you about how cold they are. BUSY! At times especially mid-day Saturday the place can get busy. So play it smart when coming or you will end up having no parking.

Very happy with our recent zoo visit. Staff are up to date in training of sunflower hidden disability lanyards, all staff members took time to make sure we had what we needed and check in. This just makes a big difference! Barely had time to take pictures as we had so much to see! Great informative learning tools all round the zoo, wall prints, books and QR code that takes you to part of their website to tell you more about the animals. Huge map at the front door with a sign saying take a picture, eco friendly and makes sense! Booked tickets for first thing, plenty of parking spaces.

We had a lovely time! We visited in month of January with our 7 year old daughter on a sunny day. This zoo is on hill so you have to climb so be aware if you have a little with tiny legs. However it was worth those climbing. We enjoyed watching Pelican, Penguins, lion, tiger, Panda and Koalas. Zoo cafeteria is good and serve good food and coffee. And Don't miss Penguins walk. There is availability of access vehicle so if you are tired or need help , you can call them.

(Translated by Google) Entrance horrendously expensive £ 19.50 = approx. € 22 per person. All the panda and koala enclosures that we came here for were EMPTY. The meerkats were a highlight. It was impossible to stay with the beautiful flamingos, because it smelled like hell. None of the zookeepers noticed the painfully limping little penguin among the many penguins ... 🤔 We were also disappointed by the visitors who were loudly calling themselves on the phone with bulky prams and buggies, their mostly blaring babies and toddlers, directly in front of animal enclosures with shy residents. (By the way: what do the smallest children get from a visit to the zoo?) These visitors behaved just as impossible in the kangaroo's outdoor enclosure. Plenty of garbage was simply thrown on the floor repeatedly. None of the keepers felt responsible to correct such visitors. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy the long-awaited visit to the otherwise beautiful zoo.

The Zoo was great, spacious and well organized for social distancing. Lots of animals to see and they all mostly looked well and in a ‘wilder’ setting so you got the sense that they’re well looked after. Lots of walking for little ones and many play parks along the way for them to rest and play. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Gift shop was not overpriced and had a wide variety of animal related toys. Would be nice to see more educational toys there too but otherwise brilliant. Would highly recommend getting a pass!

I’m not against keeping exotics, but the the enclosures are too small to allow some of these animals any exercise and enrichment. I saw the fox in the small animals building, most lizards of a similar size would do great in that enclosure, but foxes have a higher metabolism and are 10 times as active and need at least double the space. I noticed that the sulcata has some pyramiding on it’s shell, Look into how much UVB light and calcium you’r giving your reptiles and amphibians. I am begging you to take some advice from the living planet aquarium.

The facilities are well cared for. All areas are clean. The animals look healthy. For a smaller zoo looking to educate and local conservation, it's excellent. Even though we live an hour away, our family gets an annual pass, because it's such a good value.

Visited from AZ. Loved the shaded walks and animal areas. The elephants were really active in the water. Great to see. Everyone wore a mask on the inside areas per guidelines which was very nice.

Great Zoo! Every exhibit had an active animal. There are helpful signs, wonderful views, and a large variety. There were a handful of closed items, but not enough to be a problem. We went in the morning and it wasn’t too crowded until 11:30a or so. We didn’t eat here but there are options for food that doesn’t seem too expensive (for a zoo). They don’t do much to enforce the mask policy, most people are ok about it though.

Pleasantly surprised! Got there right when it opened and headed straight to the red panda! Glad we did, because they were walking around and active. Went back later to see the red panda snoozing. Loved the layout and the exhibits. Animals seemed active and well cared for.

The Portland Zoo is so gorgeous! I loved all the changing foliage. It's is also a really clean and well maintained zoo. Lots of bathrooms, which is great with a kid. And as the parent of a sensory sensitive kid, I like they have signage for areas that might be loud, suggesting headphones.

I went to zoo lights and it was a good time. It is a nice long walking path and they have lots of lights. You can even see a few animals if your night vision is good.

We love the Oregon zoo. Now that's more open it's even better. They finished the new polar bear exhibit. It's wonderful, can't wait to see the bears more. The new primate exhibit is also great. I recommend going early. It's less busy and the elephants are always fun in the morning. We once got to watch them play in the water. It was amazing. If you're local I recommend being a member. You save so much money and it gives you more reasons to go to the zoo.

They should tell you to enjoy the Christmas lights. It doesn't matter what time your train is. You walk one way through all the zoo lights winding your way to the train. Covid has the train at the end of your night. Do not run to the train and miss all he amazing light.

Hands down the best zoo in Portland ever! You'll need a whole day here to get around and see everything. Animals looked healthy and enclosures were clean well maintained. Amazing close up views, beautiful Western Red Cedar Trees Not like other zoos where you can't see anything or there's nothing there. Had a great time for sure. I loved the Eagles! Thank you Oregon Zoo.

I love going to the Zoo on wet rainy days. All the animals seem to be out on these days. For it being a half price day it was not overly crowded. Zoo was as beautiful as ever. Loved the new polar bear exhibit and other updated exhibits. 🐘

A couple friends and I took the day off to enjoy ourselves at the zoo. It was my first time! We took the max in. The station is so cool! Did you know it's the deepest transit station on the planet?! We arrived in the afternoon, so quite a few of the animals were not around or sleeping. I get it, they're not on our sleep schedule. The animals that were around were incredibly fascinating. We saw elephants, seals, pirhanas, flamingos, polar bears, giraffes, penguins, and so many more! Any staff we encountered while exploring was so nice and very generous with their knowledge! I loved that! The polar bears never sit right against the window to play, but they did when we were there! Knowing that made that moment more special to be a part of! The Condor program was also so interesting. I had to bring it up. Be sure to go check it out!

The layout of this zoo is just beautiful! It took just under 3 hours for me to walk throughout the zoo. I visited from BC and it was cool to see polar bears and elephants in person. The enclosure for the elephants is amazing and it was interesting to read up on the history of elephants at the Oregon zoo. There were quite a few animal displays empty at this time of year which was disappointing but overall still a good activity for all ages.

I went to the zoolights and it was so much fun! It was pretty cold but my boyfriend and I got hot chocolate at the beginning and the middle. The elephant building was also open so you could warm up and watch the elephants as well. I'll definitely be back again next year for the lights!

For my birthday, my husband surprised me with tickets to go to the zoo with our son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. It was a beautiful day and we had such a great time seeing all of the changes! We just happened upon the elephant exhibit while they were doing a keeper talk and the elephant was giving a demonstration of his awesomeness :) As people started drifting away, Jason, one of the elephant keepers, asked if we had any questions. My husband explained that it was my birthday and that seeing the elephant in the water had made the day perfect. To our absolute delight, Jason offered to take us on a tour of the new indoor elephant viewing area. I WAS ECSTATIC!! I have a passion for animals and love any chance to see them up close. We met Rosie and Shine up close and personal. They are magnificent ladies! Thank you so much Jason for making this a day none of us will ever forget!

Fabulous Zoo!! The train ride was $5 and all it did was go in a small loop and showed 2 animal enclosures. It was more about the train and not the zoo. Don't waste your money. 10 minutes for $5. YOU HAVE TO BUY YOUR TICKETS ONLINE ONLY!! Otherwise 5 stars!

You can be Around 10am or 11am is perfect and you could see Wild animals shows. And They feed to animals that around noon or 1pm. You can see them how to eat and enjoy the meals. Restrooms are clean mostly. Cafe and restaurant are pretty ok and little bit pricey. Parking lots are big but sometimes overcrowded. Summer time Friday and Saturday are busiest days. Sunday is little bit less people. But still busy. Animals mostly are happy and napping all the time. They seemed to clean up cages a lots. Kids have a great time. Best family time in Portland Oregon.

Wonderful place for an easy and sweet date! We have a membership and popping over for a quick visit is so relaxing. Consider visiting on a hot day. Our last trip was over 90 degrees and the zoo was pretty empty. They set up misting stations and have cool drinks and plenty of shade. We were able to enjoy the trip without overheating!

fun zoo the pathway is a little confusing sometimes and did cause us to backtrack to see the penguins. By far the coolest seal enclosure I've seen. the elephants seem well taken care of with lots of space compared to other zoo's. we went on a very hot day so some of the animals were away which I cant blame them one bit. overall good zoo experience. we have a 2 year old that almost never got out of her stroller cause she was tired and the zoo is very stroller accessible.

I absolutely love this zoo! I’ve been to many zoos and aquariums around the United States and this by far is the most beautiful and well organized zoo. I would have given it 5 stars if the train ride went back to its original route. It’s now 1/4mi. and that train ran a 40min, 2mi. round trip between the Oregon Zoo and the International Rose Test Garden in Portland’s Washington Park for more than half a century until 2013. Everyone misses it.. a bit of our childhood was torn away from us.

Love the way the exhibits are designed to not be just enclosures. The animals are treated humanely and have room to roam. The walk is reasonably easy, though there are some uphill grades which can tire mobility impaired folx. There are many places to stop and rest in the shade. Had a lovely afternoon overall and spent 4+ hours. The gift shop is nice and reasonably priced. Always a pleasure to go.

Well maintained zoo. All the animals are nicely taken care of. Labor Day was crowded but still nice. My only complaint is they had all there shows at 1 or 1:30 so it wasn't possible to attend more than 1 show, sadly. Hopefully, they will stagger the show times in the future. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Beautiful zoo! We went in late summer-early fall when the zoo was full of gorgeous flowers and plants between the exhibits which made for an amazing nature walk. The animals seemed well taken care of and happy. Fairly easy parking available with a lot of restrooms throughout the zoo and even free water filling stations which were nice on a hot day. They also have places you can buy lunch, dinner, etc; however, it is pretty expensive. For a water be prepared to pay $4+ and I believe a pb & j was pushing $7-10. You can bring your own picnic stuff though so come prepared. We didn’t make it into their store to shop as the day went by too quickly and we ran out of time. Check-in was simple with a quick scan of our mobile tickets. The online ticket situation was a bit confusing as they didn’t make it clear with the timed entry if that meant you only had a certain amount of time to be inside the zoo or they just wanted an idea how many people where inside. We were never told we had to leave in a set amount of time which was nice as the zoo takes several hours to make it through. The paths were clearly marked, they also have a zoo map available online and we also rode the zoo train that was fairly priced and our younger child really enjoyed it. Note there are not many animals you can see other than than elephants if they are where you can see them. It was a great family outing and we plan to go back again in a few years.

We did the Zoo Lights event! It was very well organized, free over flow parking with free bus ride to the front gates. There were some concession up with things like kettle corn, and elephant ears. The train ride is fun and you get so see even more lights. They do an amazing job getting so many lighted displays up. My 5 year old daughter really loved train and the trees that were wrapped in lights. The bug house was open for warming up and for viewing bugs. Most animals were not viewable, but elephants are awake at night and we were able to go to the indoor viewing area. 3 elephants were in their playing and eating! The keep was setting out hay bales to reach for and eat. It was wonderful. It was sold out… but felt a bit crowded for my liking. Our group worn fun Christmas lights and it made it easier to keep track of each other with so many other people around.

I loved this zoo! It was so green! The elephant exhibit was the best I've seen. It was easy to navigate with good food options. I had an "elephant ear" which is a thin fry bread with cinnamon and sugar. 100% worth it.

The Oregon Zoo will always hold a place close to my heart. When I was a kid, we would have fun field trips with my class, and family trips with my younger sisters. As an adult, I've been able to share that same joy and wonder with my own children - I even had the opportunity to bring my own son to his first concert (Fitz & The Tantrums) - an experience that was thoroughly enjoyed by all. So much about the Oregon Zoo is wonderful, but I have to say, this year's Zoo Lights was something I hadn't expected. Zoo Lights has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember, but the occasions were often marred by cold, wet Pacific Northwest weather - the ability to ride through the zoo, warm and cozy from the comfort of our own vehicle, is an experience unmatched. Add to that the wonder that came from PHYSICALLY DRIVING THROUGH THE ZOO (!!!) made for a truly magical experience. Well done, Oregon Zoo, you guys nailed it! Again!!!

Even w/social distancing, the zoo has done a great job of creating a path to keep people moving and safe. Thanks to their efforts, we actually saw the whole zoo, as opposed to the kids pulling us in multiple directions pre-covid.

Went for Zoolights. It was very busy and took about 1 1/2 hours from arriving to exit driving thru. Some very pretty light exhibits and impressive animations.

  • 5/5 Debra J. 3 years ago on Google
EDIT: With COVID19 protocols in place the zoo has really stepped up. Zoo lights were amazing. Still I'd like to see what happens after all the new construction. Will have to come back when all the construction is done and see if it improves. The walkability is not the best. You get put on a path walkway where everyone is going the same direction and it is faily cramped and crowded. This makes seeing the animals a little difficult. It does start to open up towards the center. But not much. I think the layout was better years before when there weren't so many "forced paths." I will say that I always appreciate the fact that most zoos are making animal enclosures better for the animals. The narrow paths I assume have something to do with that I just can't tell how.

We went to zoo lights on the last weekend it was available and while the line was pretty long I enjoyed the experience. My daughters (4 & 2) had a little bit of a hard time with the wait to get in but once in they loved the lights and were glad to be there. It is a little tough to not see actual animals and for the kids to stay in the car because they do want to walk around and not be stuck inside, but overall I think they did a great job creating a family experience that they will be remembered and the price wasn’t bad considering it would cost more if it had been a regular zoo lights trip. We were even late for our time slot and they let us in no problems. Thank you for some holiday cheer during a very difficult year, we loved it!

I do love supporting this business. Having a Zoo nearby is a wonderful. I have visited many a times over the past several years. My last visit was 4 days ago, during the pandemic. All carts and drinks were closed. Construction was heavily underway. We were guided by several employees to go this way or that, wear a mask, one way only, no re entry. They are following the COVID regulations. So, the walk through was lacking crowds, but we still kind of hurried along, so as not to make other parties wait. There are many things to do here, under normal circumstances. I enjoy all the gatherings and attractions they have. Right now, you come to see animals only, cutting your normal trip time in half. I miss the ability to meander, drink, eat and play. Dang you, COVID!

As Zoos go it's hard to beat The Oregon Zoo. I have been a member since I moved here in 2014 and plan to continue to be a member for the foreseeable future. The animals all appear to be healthy and happy and this is made all the more clear by their longevity. I think the fact that they have been able to breed their Elephants so successfully is also testament to this. There is so much under construction right now but it's still a great place to visit. I'm very excited to see how it all turns out.

I love the zoo. I go to the zoo at least 6 times a year and I'm an adult with no children. The zoo is always very clean and the staff is friendly and I obviously love the animals. The reason for 3 stars is that the zoo has started prioritizing 1 day ticket admissions over memberships due to Covid. I pay $119 a year to be a member at the zoo. I've also donated to the zoo several times throughout Covid when they have asked. Today I went to the website, looked to see if there are available tickets for this coming Saturday and there are a total of 215 available tickets for purchase. So I activated my membership (good for 1 year from date of activation) and tried to make a reservation. When I try to reserve a spot as a member I'm told they are sold out.... What?? There are 215 available tickets for non-members and none for members. I reached out to them and they basically told me that they have to prioritize one day tickets because they make more money from them. Feels very frustrating to be a loyal member who supports and donates and then not even be able to go to the zoo.

I have been to more zoos around this country and the Oregon zoo is very expensive for what you get to see. The value is just not there. It is a smaller zoo that sits on the side of the hills that are to the west of Portland. When we went we paid full price and half the exhibits were closed or empty. Food was also a horrible experience and once again, EXPENSIVE.

Me, my partner and 2 kids attended the zoo and had a fantastic day out. Admission fees are very reasonable and the member offer offers so much more. The staff are friendly and always happy to help, giving out maps at the entrance. On site there is plenty of space for picnics, open spaces for children to play and toilet facilities. While it is wheelchair accessible it would be a challenge due to the hills but it is worth the effort for anyone to see the great range of animals you wouldnt normally see. There is ice cream, burger vans and plenty of seats throughout the zoo. Overall I would highly recommend a visit.

Hassle free brilliant visit. Was slightly nervous due to new procedures and my children having zero sense of social distancing but the whole day was as amazing as ever. Masks in the gift shop and the bird house etc but everything else is pretty much the same. We had lunch in the restaurant and although the menu is reduced the food was great and staff super friendly. Can’t wait to head back!

We went to the light show at the zoo. Only so many tickets are sold for a time slot so social distancing was achievable. The light show was really good thoroughly enjoyed it such a pick me up in these dark times. We had hot chocolate and doughnuts but there were also kiosks for burgers chips etc. We were there christmas eve and i will definitly return next year. Hopefully with my grandchildren.

Went here on the 27th November and it was amazing. I got the privilege to meet one of the best hoofstockkeepers called chloe and she gave me a chat about the rhino boys and it was very knowledgeable 😉 we saw all animals in and out of the enclosures 😀 thanks for all you do chloe and the other staff at Edinburgh for these amazing animals at this time during this pandemic.

Myself and my partner visited the zoo on friday 27th there and we saw everything... Every animal in and out the enclosures 😁 We also had a very knowledgeable chat with chloe one of the most amazing hoofstock keepers about the rhino boys she was fantastic. And she also told us we could download the map onto our phone if we didnt have the map of the zoo by hand. Everything was accessible including the toilets even tho restrictions are in place. We enjoyed our visit. Very satisfied 😃 we had a fantastic day & time! Thanks chloe ❤️ and the amazing staff at Edinburgh zoo and all you do to keep our animals well and safe during this pandemic aswel. X

Love the chimpanzee, great to watch. Great for kids, play areas and food cafes, spent most of the day here. Would love to see more animals but some were either hiding or due to Covid some buildings/areas were closed. A little bit pricey for a family of four.

Wonderful trip. Staff are so friendly, knowledgeable but also firm with covid restrictions (felt very safe and relaxed). The animals looked so well cared for, first zoo I didn't feel uneasy/morally conflicted. Restaurant quite overpriced for very basic meals, but was very clean and again, well run!

  • 2/5 Craig J. 3 years ago on Google
Convinced my wife we should take the family here instead of Blair Drummond because I'd heard good things. Unfortunately that was a mistake. Worst zoo I've been to. £50 to see very few animals you actually go to a zoo to see, over priced food and a one way system with marked entrances and exits that apparently you can completely ignore if you've paid extra as a zoo keeper took a family right past us through the exit of the penguin enclosure (ignoring the one way arrows and the fact it was an exit). The panda was cool at least.

(Translated by Google) I recommend the zoo to visit. You need a reservation in advance now. If the purpose of the visit is like mine to see pandas that are super cute. The time to see them is between 10:15 and 16:10, at least that's how it was written now. Koalas are super cute. The zoo also has 3 species of penguins, bears, pink flamingos, 2 rhinos, pelicans and more. The staff is very kind. In the souvenir shop you can buy a lot of souvenirs.

Visited the Zoo on Saturday, and have got to say my most favourite part of the day was the penguins, they are just amazing, and was great to see a young boy in feeding them. Glad that kids aren’t missing out on this experience due to Covid. Social distancing was observed by most, you still get the usual idiots that can’t read or understand instructions, but you get that everywhere unfortunately. Only downside was the lunch we purchased from the Penguin cafe, £20.50 for 3 pre packed sandwiches and 3 cans of juice, shocking!!! Will defo take my own the next time we visit.

  • 4/5 Louisa R. 3 years ago on Google
One way system didn't really work and felt like you missed a lot as many viewing areas were closed off. Was really excited to see giraffes and zebras and there were no giraffes and the viewing for the zebras was a patch of fence through some trees as the bridge to the viewing platform was closed. Didnt see a lot of the main attraction animals including the tigers. Map was labelled as parrots but only had one species of macaw. Some lovely keepers though, one very nice scottish man with grey hair in a ponytail stopped to tell us about the rhinos and was very friendly.

Edinburgh Zoo is built in the side of a hill, not a mountain as my companion said, but still steep in places. It is not a climb for the weak-willed or anyone struggling with any form of infirmity. Animal wise it has a moderate selection, not big by any stretch of the imagination but some of the big ones are there. Three lions, a tiger, a rhino, some chimpanzees, koalas and the borrowed pandas topped the bill. As well as these eye catchers there are a smattering of other smaller animals and some birds. At the present the place is nowhere near fully open so I'm sure I'm right in saying that there are other exhibits, such as reptiles to view but just weren't available to viait. In fact its probably because of the current worldwide pandemic that has made the entire zoo look so run down and quite shabby. Don't get me wrong the staff I spoke to were friendly and willing but clearly the zoo is not fully resourced. Take a picnic if you go as the cafes are not fully opened, also take lots of antiseptic wipes as the loos were all very ropey. The shop has the usual collection of pens, pencils, rubbers and some cuddly toys, nothing really eye-catching but a bit of tat to buy by way of a memory. It's nice to go on a warm day but if the usual Edinburgh rain and wind is present then youngsters might be difficult to keep amused. Would I go again? Yes of course, but, not for a couple of years.

Great job by the zoo keeping timed entries and individuals at every installation entrance to remind on safety rules. Got to see one of the beavers during enrichment with staff, which was a treat. Be sure to get the parking kitty app before you go as there is no free parking nearby that I know of. The beautiful train station is Very convenient for park and ride.

Had a great time at the Oregon Zoo! Reserved a 11am time slot and there an appropriate number of people walking around that kept everyone spaced out well. Staff was located in various spots and reminded people not to gather to tight spaces and to keep our masks on. This was all done with professionally and with kindness (not aggressively like some places). Everyone was adhering to all the rules. I loved seeing all the animals. The sea otters were adorable and it was great to see the lemurs swinging around. Seals were so cute, and the lions looked like down right royalty. You could tell some of the smaller animals were being housed in different areas than they normally were because some of the enclosures did not have signs indicating what the animal was. There were times I wished I knew what animal I was looking at, as some were very new to me. There was no staff in these areas to ask either. Lots of clean bathrooms throughout the zoo made it easy on my small bladder! Lol I visited the gift shop before leaving and was surprised how fairly priced the items were. Plenty of $20 tshirts and small stuffed animals to buy. This is a great place to bring the family or even a midday date :)

This is one of the treasured gems of Salt Lake City. The facility is super clean and maintained. The animals all seem to be well cared for and managed. The staff are fairly friendly except for one person who was rude to me today but the team leads seem to be receptive when I reported. The zoo has taken great measures to ensure public safety during the Covid pandemic. I’ve been coming for years and have appreciated coming here now more that I have a toddler. I highly recommend and will be back.

My family loves the zoo! This zoo is smaller but the perfect size. A lot of people can do the zoo in a few hours but we can spend the whole day here. Most every animal is located conveniently. They have improved so many of the habits over the last 30 years that it is such a different zoo from when I was a kid. My family loves the different decorations for each season. The zoo pass/season pass is very reasonable. We love to visit zoos when we travel but this zoo is still so much fun to come too.

  • 5/5 Connor C. 3 years ago on Google
Great place to be, and a great atmosphere for dates and family outings. They have done a really great job at bettering the animal encampments and face lifting the customer experience. It still has a few things that could be improved and animal variety, but that will come with time as the zoo continues to grow. I hope they bring the bird show back soon, it was one of my favorite events to go to. Fun for the whole family.

  • 1/5 Anna L. 3 years ago on Google
The zoo needs to clean up after the predators. Kids don't need too see prey animal parts strewn everywhere after feeding time. I understand they are predatory animals and it is part of nature, but as they are in a visited cage, I don't want to see their left overs, and I don't think most kids do, either. Other zoos I have been to seem much more considerate of this.

  • 4/5 scottybodell 3 years ago on Google
We've been going to Hogle Zoo for years. It's anyways a fun experience. My kids are older now but still love it. It seems we learn something new about a different animal each time. The variety of animals is excellent for what the Utah climate allows. Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! The exhibits are good, animals have lots of open spaces, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. My one reason for knocking off a star is overall cleanliness. Particularly during the current pandemic, I didn't see any staff member cleaning anything during our 2 hour visit. Maybe we just missed them but i kind of expected to see multiple staff members around the more popular areas and high touch point exhibits doing at least a quick window or railing sanitizing. There are signs posted indicating what gets touched the most and fun signs with animals asking visitors to stay six feet apart. I just didn't see any actual cleaning. Overall we love the zoo and I'm sure we'll go back many times more.

  • 5/5 Ken S. 3 years ago on Google
Nice zoo. Well kept very clean. It’s just that the community animals like zebra, ostrich, boars and elephants look very sad. They look healthy and well taken care of. I believe they will be happy if they are free but they won’t get the care and attention they get here. Don’t know how the African savannah animals feel when it snows. I am sure they are not wild rather brought up somewhere here. Other than that, human amenities like parking, toilets and food are arranged very well. It’s worth one visit with friends and family especially if you have kids. I found the lion seals the only animal that are interactive. Definitely spend sometime there. The kids will love it.

This is a cute little zoo! They have beautiful animals and a fun train ride and carousel. The staff were very helpful and wanted to make sure you had a great experience. Especially when the tigers are playing hide and seek, so you can't spot them easily. It can get warm so if you are a tourist like me, make sure to bring water and sunscreen.

The family loves this place. We joined as member which gives us entry access for the family for a whole year. For a large family like mine it only takes 2 to 3 visits in a year and we have made money on the deal from normal admission prices. Having that membership also makes quick trips to the zoo easier because we can see some of the animals and don't have to see every animal every time. Makes for easy to plan quick day activity for the family. Right now during covid you do need to get time sloted tickets on line

This zoo, seated in a sort of complex or recreational activities (trails, gardens, etc,) features exhibits of various animals/insects. The park is laid out with an efficient walkway, that allows patrons to visit all the exhibits without having to double back. There's even a nice halfway-point, to rest or get food/drink. It is definitely a once-a-year visit, at least. And if you are visiting from the Eastside, take the MAX to avoid having to find parking.

The tunnel of twinkling lights was fun the rest was meant for going kids to point out the lights in different animal shapes. Nothing super impressive. It was nice to see once. I wouldn't do it again unless young kids are visiting and even then i think the houses decorated with lifts dancing to music is easy way way cooler and it's free 😁

First half was just like a walk in the park. Nothing so see, no animals (no giraffe, rhino, etc.). As we were quite disappointed and heading towards the exit, we got to see lions, cheetah, elephants. Was a nice turn and we left happy with what we saw. Zoo overall was in great condition and lots of happy kids running around.

Despite the chilly fall weather, it was a great visit to the zoo. Animals that have always been hiding during past visits were out sunning themselves. Masks are required in indoor exhibits but not on the grounds. Great way to spends a few hours with a toddler outdoors on one of the few dry days we've had in a while.

Went here for Zoo Lights last week. It was much better than I thought and I thought it was worth the price of the ticket although its a little more expensive than previous years. The lights were nice, some major gaps for Audio/Music. I really like the one-way walking path through the scenery.

Shuttle service was a great addition and saved a parking fee. (Catch it off sylvan exit, sign posted). Animals all appeared healthy and well cared for. The zoo was extremely busy the Saturday we visited but still enjoyable.

We spent 4 hours here and had to leave because the zoo was closing but the kids still wanted to stay! So many animals were really active. We got to see the elephants giving themselves a dirt bath, fruit bats fighting over fruit, black bears and polar bears up and wandering around their cages, giraffes almost face to face. The only downside was there were a number of animals off exhibit which made Several areas feel a little deserted and the price is a tad expensive. Still very fun and worth it to go back at least once a year.

As far as zoos go this one is very good. Not huge but there's more animals here than in many locations around the country. There's plenty of room to walk and a trail structure that has paths, tunnels, and sites to see along the way. An impressive elephant enclosure that is one of the largest I have seen. You can probably spend three to four hours here observing the animals. Definitely wheelchair accessible and stroller friendly. Well worth the visit

Portland Zoo is amazing! Got here 2 hours before closing and that was not enough to see everything! Lots of animals to see and a whole lot of walking! I also like how the trees and plants were given attention and more information were given about them since they're unique in the Pacific Northwest and by geography; I don't think a lot of zoos do that. Overall had a great time!

The zoo has great atmosphere. It's laid out well. The food was good and reasonably priced for an attraction like this. The animals all appeared healthy and happy; well cared for. They are severely lacking in reptiles and amphibians. There is no reptile house. The few reptiles they have are kind of scattered around the zoo. One thing I found interesting is that the crocodile monitor which is native to Southeast Asia was within the borders of the Africa exhibit. Sadly no shows were being performed while we were there. But overall it was a good experience and I would probably return if I make it back up to Oregon again.

Our boys loved the zoo. So tranquil and nice way to spend a Wednesday afternoon and keep the kids entertained while enjoying a beautiful walk and scenery. Unfortunately, we came when a lot of the shows and feedings had already happened, so we missed all the performances, so come earlier rather than after lunchtime, to get some action in with the animals. Also, bring your own lunch to avoid overpaying for mediocre chicken strips. Otherwise this is a very fun place to go with the kids during the summer on sunny day. 🌞

Nice zoo with lots to see. Great place to go with the family. I don't agree with the online booking of tickets with no refunds. It says that you must show up within 15 minutes of your book time. No transfer of tickets or refunds if you can't make it, no reason for that, just a money grab.

Whenever we travel, I like to take my youngest to the zoo of wherever we go. This zoo ranks in my top 5. Big and beautiful. When you first walk in and travel through the trees it's so beautiful and makes you feel like you are in nature. There was a lot to see and they space it out very well. I love how as you walk through the exhibits they make you feel like you are walking through a "cave" or in a "tree trunk". My only complaint is the food was very expensive and not very good (as most zoo food is) pack your own lunch and hang out at the amphitheater to eat.

We arrived right as feeding time was beginning so got great views of some of the animals! Didn't download the digital map but getting around was very easy with all the signs. The Kitty parking app is needed to pay for parking.

A bit pricey at $24 per person, but overall a great experience. We visited on a Sunday and even with timed-ticket entry the zoo was crowded. There were multiple animal "shows" like scheduled feedings that were fun to watch. Very well planned walking path through the zoo, so visitors can view an animal enclosure from all sides and multiple angles.

🐆🐢 Really beautiful zoo with lots to see! We were only disappointed by the lack of options in the restaurants. There wasn't much to choose from and most things are unhealthy. But overall we had an amazing experience so would definitely visit again! 🐻 🐊

*Advice before going in if you didn’t go through their home page buy tickets online before going* (Lots of people were put front reserving tickets when they tried to walk up) Its small but gorgeous 😍 if you love the nature vibe that is It was a pretty hot day for Oregon so some of the animals were staying in the shade but most were pretty active. Limited on food during the week so pack a lunch and plenty of drinks. (Psst) Just another tip typically when people crowd up to one spot there is another right after with less people to view the animals Enjoy 🤘🏼

Went with friends who had free passes thru their realtor. 87 degrees might not have been my first choice but better than the 40 degrees Veterans Day weekend when we last went. Some of the animals weren't out. Some that were were napping. Wasn't overly crowded, so you could get in closer to see the exhibits. We also did the train ride. Last time I did it was for zoo lights. Looking forward to going back for one of the adults only zoolights nights.

A beautiful, lovely place for people of all ages. I've been coming here since I was a little kid, and walking through the Oregon Zoo gates always brings back memories. Some animals weren't out during the day, but that's pretty normal I guess. The employee at the entrance was super nice and helpful in walking us through buying tickets online before going in. I highly, highly recommend this place for everyone of all ages as a place to build everlasting memories!

I grew up in Oregon and have since moved away and visited many zoos, but this one is still my favorite. Clean and well designed, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The prices are decent for food and drinks, and the animals actually appear to be happy and well taken care of.

This place is a pretty good zoo, and I was amazed that I saw the animals I wanted to see. There were monkeys, ducks, goats, rabbits, sharks, and a BALD EAGLE! The line wasn't that bad and we got through easily. I'd recommend to buy tickets in advanced so the line wouldn't be so long.

I really like that the animals look so well cared for with a good amount of space & enrichment. Lots of educational content posted with interactive portions and interesting viewing angles/areas. Creative decor & a good layout that makes it pretty easy to get around to everything without a lot of backtracking.

Absolutely must see. The exhibits are amazing, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and loves answering guests questions. By far this is my top 3 zoos in the US only behind San Diego and the Bronx Zoo.

Always a fun experience at the Oregon Zoo. The elephant enclosure is by far my favorite. Then the giraffes was a sight to see! This last visit we got to dress in our costumes, which was fun to see everyone dressed up, and the zoo had a little “bingo” type card for the kids to fill out and get treats.

This zoo is a really fun place to take your child. I've also taken dates here in the past and that was also fun. There are so many exhibits to see and interact with. Plenty of statues, and photo opportunities. The only problem I had was how expensive the food and drinks were. If I could give you one piece of advice it would be to bring all of your own food and drinks. You are allowed to bring your own so take advantage of it and do it. The zoo is already expensive unless you are low income and can show you receive food stamps or TANF. The elephant exhibit is amazing and I suggest seeing it.

The Zoolights were a blast! The lights were beautiful, and the kids in our group were very happy with them whole experience. We dressed warmly the weather, and wore comfortable walking shoes. I enjoyed the train ride. The elephants were awake, so it was worth the walk down to visit them. I'd definitely recommend getting some hot chocolate mid-visit.

It's worth the membership. I have a toddler and anytime we need an activity this is an easy go-to. The animals are well treated, the staff is decently friendly and, more importantly to me, trustworthy. Twice I've lost items that were sent straight to the lost and found by the time i exited the park. Plan ahead! See any of these viewings and you won't be disappointed: Penguin feeding, Bird show, Elephant bath You can also pet goats in the mornings, if you're into that sort of thing. My toddler loves the train ride! It's super short and you won't see animals, but we always enjoy a little choochoo ride. Find the harbor seals and the otters! They are my personal favorites. I'm adding some holiday zoo lights photos as well.

We really do have a nice Zoo. The animals were all out and lively. The Red Panda was so adorable, I didn't get pictures, though. The Lions are just so majestic, I dropped everything and took pics of them. However, the so-so food is really over priced, and they close way too early. They wouldn't let us go into the gift shop 30 minutes before closing. We were ready to overspend in there, but they were more concerned with closing the doors on time. That's fine. We will just bring our own food next time, and go earlier I guess.
