The people were very nice that we encountered. The price to get in was great and the gift shop was wonderful. The issue I had was they did not inform you that more then half the animals were no longer there. The grounds were very overgrown so it made it very difficult to see some of the animals and to walk through some of the areas because the foliage stuck out so much. I do understand covid has taken it's toll on many places but I feel that this needs better care on the grounds work and clean up in the animals cages. The cages were even overgrown and seemed not as well kept as they should have been. For what we did experience and did see we had a great time and my son enjoyed himself. Again I understand that covid has taken it's toll but it is just unfair for the animals and I feel it would bring more people and money in if some how it was better upkeep.

Very cute place! The only downside was many of the animals weren’t there- inside or outside. We did see TONS of turkey vultures, lemurs, snakes, turtles, emus, a rabbit, fish, cranes, marmosets, and turkeys. There were no river otters or deer and many of the cages were empty so I’m not sure what would be in them. My son was 3 so his admission was free and it was $6 I believe for an adult ticket which was an extremely affordable price. The land and walkways were beautiful. If there weren’t so many empty cages, I would have given 5 stars. Woman at admission desk was very kind and informative!

I love this little, local zoo. If I ever need something to do with my kids, we come here. I think I might like it more than my kids. LOL. It takes about an hour to walk through and see everything. You can spend more or less time there. It just depends. They have restrooms in the large building in the center of the zoo. There’s a fenced in picnic type of area right by the entrance to the actual zoo. The gift shop is where you buy tickets and we usually end up buying things on the way out.

This is a great place to bring young children to visit non-native animals. Despite its small size, there are enough attractions to occupy children for at least an hour. It's very inexpensive ($24 for my family of 4). It's a bit out of the way, but that's usually how you find such gems. Would visit again.

Great place for families! All the staff are friendly and helpful. There are clearly marked trails and a wide variety of animals. Free maps are available in the zoo shop. Books, toys and ice cream are available for purchase in the shop.

Zoo layout was nice. Very shady. The exhibits were nice and clean. Variety of animals. The admission price was inexpensive. Have never seen parking spaces like theirs. Very clever design that blends with nature.

A small zoo run by a private school. Low key. Nice variety of animals. Well kept, clean. Shady paths to stroll. Learn about endangered species. We enjoyed all the exhibits. Stayed about two hours. Definitely worth seeing when you're in the area.

This is a small zoo but it's a great road trip destination and a fun visit for small children. You can see everything the zoo has to offer in about an hour, but the admission is only $6 for an adult. The grounds and exhibit areas are immaculately kept. The red pandas and golden lion tamarins are must-see attractions.

Wonderful hidden gem - beautiful grounds and a unique variety of animals on site. The zoo is AZA-accredited and the animals are well cared for and have plenty of open space to roam. A great experience and educational resource for children and adults alike! You must reserve online prior to expected date/time of visit, but this is not a big deal (you don't have to pay until you arrive).

Love this little Zoo. Perfect for a quick outing with the kids. It is smaller than most traditional Zoos but we always have a great time. Staff are friendly. Grounds are well kept. Animals are well taken care of. There is a gift shop. Admission is affordable.

What a lovely little zoo! While not large in size, there was a wide variety of wonderful animals, and my teen and tween thoroughly enjoyed. Make sure to visit the red panda and the Kea bird from New Zealand, whose call is incredibly unique

Me and a friend went to the zoo this past Saturday, and we really enjoyed this little gem in Dutchess County! For a small zoo, there was a lot to see and do. I'm definitely going back.

Such a stress free and fun place to bring the kiddos and the grounds that you drive into are absolutely stunning. We try to make it up there at least a few times per year. Would absolutely recommend!

Just had a birthday party here and would definitely recommend. The animal demo was great and informative for all of us (kids and adults). Everyone was able to walk the zoo after the 2 hour party. The whole staff was great to work with and I was contacted within 2 hours of reaching out about the party.

I had been several times and went more later this time around. Animals seem more active later in day.

This is such a hidden gem in the Hudson Valley having a zoo right in our own backyard. Very clean, animals taken care of well. The admission price is extremely affordable for a family of 4. Everyone who lives in the Hudson Valley should come here at least once! Love the red pandas too!!!

Came on a Friday afternoon and it was fairly empty. It is not a huge zoo with a ton of animals, but it’s great for toddlers and for a nice 1-2 hours outside. We really enjoyed our time there.

Inconsiderate staff at the front desk. We drove 40min to visit the zoo. The girl at the front desk told us that they do not let anyone in after 4:30 pm and the zoo is closed at 5 pm. We were there at 4:25 pm. But she did not let us in saying filling up the entry form will take time and it will cross the 4:30 pm time limit. I had my toddler with me and I’m not going to this inconsiderate place ever again!

What a nice little gem of a zoo. Brought our toddler while on vacation in Highland. He loved it. Quick to get through but not too quick. Some atypical zoo animals there. Able to get very close to most of them. Would definitely visit again.

I missed this adventure, but my wife (first visit), daughter and grandson (third visit) thoroughly enjoyed this entire experience. Everything mentioned in previous ratings is true and anyone looking for a fine family day should plan to go! The ground staff greeted them with smiles whenever passing them and asked if there were any questions. Grounds are beautifully laid out, very walkable. The animals seemed happy and alert to everyone's enjoyment. The folks in the shop were enthusiastic, genuinely happy to see the 3 of my family. It was a splendid day for my family, and we thank you all for making us welcome. Even the ride through pastoral Millbrook was a pleasure! Hope to make the next trip to Trevor! Thank you all!

Quaint little zoo. Some exhibits were closed, lemurs had babies!, but otherwise it was a lovely walk around to visit all the animals. Facility is clean and well kept. Animals seem content.

Really nice, cute, little zoo. Staff could not be any nicer. This is not a full size zoo. Although, it is bigger than a children's zoo.
