We always have a great time visiting the Abilene Zoo. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would consider this zoo on par with larger zoos due to the affordable cost, the exhibits, and staff interactions. If you look online, you can usually find a coupons for buy one adult, a kid gets in free.

At first when we walked in we thought it was going to be small. But this was the best zoo we have been to so far! We fed the Giraffes and ducks. We ate some Nachos and were greeted by awesome staff!!!! The exhibits are kept up and the animals are very well taken care of. We didn't realize that the rides close early and we had purchased tokens. The staff let our group ride the Carousel twice so we could use our tokens. We purchased awesome items in the shop. By far a great experience. Thank you for having our families out and giving me a awesome wedding anniversary! ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’•

We weren't really sure what toe xpecet when we decided to visit this zoo. We enjoyed how many animals there were and how surprisingly big it was. We enjoyed seeing all the animals and how clean and well kept the zoo was. We recommend it to everyone. Feeding the giraffes was a very awesome experience. Wish we could've gotten more lettuce but it was nice anyways.

This zoo it is beautiful , it was bigger than I expected to be. This zoo has a list of animals, including a display of HUGE roaches that it almost made me faint. They have a nice setup for giraffes feeding, and the staff are super helpful and friendly. We went on a Friday, and they were closing at 3:00 pm because of a sesonal Christmas event at 4:00 pm. Even when our time was short, we were able to walk the whole zoo and even feed the giraffes in the last minute before they closed. If you are buying tickets online and you choose the whole package, make sure to retrieve your tokens at the counter. These tokens are for the train ride and the giraffes feeding. I definitely recommend this Zoo!

Nice zoo and the animals looks good. The best part of the day was feeding the giraffes. My daughter enjoyed it very much. It is not very big zoo. So you can see all the animals in about two hours.

Very nice employees. Fast services. Clean park. Definitely family friendly with good children interactions. When feeding the giraffes, they give direct instructions. The only problem we ran into was when we brought $10 tickets but all the birds but a select few were not in the zoo due to the bird flu. So that was upsetting since they didnโ€™t have that anywhere.

This zoo is small but mighty! I am always impressed with the great layout, nice enclosures, and animal variety this zoo offers. You can spend several hours here easily. Great for families or a fun date! My favorite area is Elm Creek Backyard, featuring native Texas wildlife. Definitely one of the gems Abilene has to offer!

This is a great Zoo with some cool features. The giraffe part is pretty neat. Even if you don't feed them, you can still go upstairs and walk around. They have lions, a rhino, a Madagascar exhibit, and a whole lot more.

I recently visited the Zoo in the area, and it was definitely worth the drive from Odessa. Being the closest Zoo, it made for a convenient and enjoyable day trip. Although our visit was slightly dampened by the fact that a few of the main animals we wanted to see were not out, we understood that the scorching Texas heat can take a toll on them. It's important to keep their well-being in mind, especially in such extreme weather conditions. However, despite this minor setback, we still had a great time exploring the Zoo. The smaller size of the Zoo made it easier to explore and navigate, perfect for a small adventure in West Texas. The variety of animals that were on display were fascinating, and we got to see many unique species up close. One thing I'm particularly looking forward to is attending their Zoo Boo event and Christmas event in the future. It sounds like they have some exciting festivities lined up, which would add an extra layer of fun to the zoo experience. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this Zoo, especially if you have children. The opportunity to see and learn about different animals while enjoying a small adventure in West Texas is definitely worth it. Just keep in mind that when visiting in extreme weather, not all animals may be out on display.

We loved the Abilene Zoo! It's a small Zoo but it's expanding. It was such a pretty walk, very clean, lots of fun things for kids and adults. I was just really impressed with how pretty and green it was. The service throughout was great too!

We are visiting from out of town with a four year old in tow. This was the perfect afternoon activity. Our hometown zoo isn't much smaller than this one, but the Abilene Zoo is much nicer. All of the animals were easy to see and most of them were active. The big draw for our little man was the alligator. Mama loved the chameleon and papa thought the Reptile house was pretty cool. The only disappointment was the giraffes were in the barn due to a morning thunderstorm making it too muddy for them to be out. We were really looking forward to that exhibit and it was closed. :( It took us 3.5 hours of slow meandering to see the whole thing. Perfect size, great overall experience.

Awesome place to visit , from the start you see is a different zoo. The personnel was awesome , they explain to you everything you want to know about the animales and the zoo. They treat the animals very well and are well fed and cared for. The Park have activities for seasons and dates. The zoo is clean and we'll maintain. I recommend to visit them if you're in the area.

Was perfect weather for a walk around the zoo. Actually got to see a giraffe running, spectacular animals. They have made many improvements since I was there last, I really like the changes.

Abilene Zoo is a favorite to visit for my two kids and I! This visit they were all set up for their Boo Zoo event and it looked amazing! We had a great time and the staff was great as always, we even got to meet a capybara that was out for a walk! Highly suggest a visit if you can make it, try to give yourself at least a few hours to enjoy it.

Prices for entry are incredibly reasonable. It doesn't look like a big zoo, but there are actually quite a lot of animals to see. It was a lovely way to spend a day with my family, and we had a wonderful time.

The Boo at the Zoo this year was wonderful! Very well run and managed, with a lot of fun activities, booths, and events. The crowds weren't anything to sniff at, but the zoo staff and volunteers were on top of everything the entire time! All areas were clean, the food was good, and you could launch a pumpkin into the lake with a trebuchet. A+ experience, definitely going again next year.

We went to Christmas at the Zoo. It was really well done & interactive! Decorating cookies, Christmas land with "snow" & fires to make s'mores if you wanted or drink hot chocolate!, a walk to Bethlehem telling the Christmas story, feeding giraffes and more! Highly recommend!

Wonderful small zoo! Two visits to review- January 10 and March 15, 2023. The Jan 10 visit was mid week on a warm winter weekday and we had the place practically to ourselves. Many Christmas decorations were still up to enjoy which made us want to go back in December to see it all lit up. Feeding the giraffes was so fun. Feeding the fish at the lake observation deck was enjoyable too- there was a gumball type machine for getting fish food. The March 15 visit was colder and windy and very crowded with spring break visitors. There were special shows that day to enjoy. The sand play area was enjoyed by younger children. The train and carousel were fun to do. The gift shop is large and well stocked. Parking is level, paved and ample. Near highway access and airport. A splash pad is next for summer fun. Such a great place for families to enjoy!

Great smaller zoo. Perfect size for small kids. Lots of variety and interesting interactive elements (keeper talks, hands on educational stations).

For a zoo in Abilene this place is pretty cool on the small side, but that makes it easy to get around. Birthday parties include an introduction to an animal, don't know if it's always a chinchilla but the kids LOVED it. And they taught the kids a tad bit as well.

Overall really great experience. Went with my daughter and her school. Super clean. Real friendly staff. Miss being able to feed the fishes and ducks by the pond area but we had a good time. Glad to see new things being added onto the zoo as well. Oh and for $5 you can feed the giraffes.

Always a great time! Great zoo for a small town! You won't regret it! I recommend getting the Zoomore tickets! Pays for park admission, carousel ride, train ride and feeding the giraffes. It's in token form so if you want the kids to go on the carousel a few times, they can have your tokens!

It was a great day at the zoo! It was busier than we expected (Spring break kiddos) but super fun! We fed the Giraffes for $5 and visited all the animals. I wish there were elephants but maybe one day. I was surprised at how many varieties of large birds they had! Overall great time!

"I loved it!" Said my 8 yo. A great place to spend the day. Lots of exhibits. Remember to take change to get food for the ducks and the fish. We paid extra to ride the train and carousel and to feed the giraffes. Feeding the giraffes is always so much fun.

I can't believe this was my first visit here. I lived in Midland 16 years. How have I missed coming to this zoo?!?! This was an awesome zoo!! It was a great experience!! A lot of animals to see and enjoy.

Cute little zoo for what we were able to see. The rain kept a lot of animals indoors. We mainly were able to see the reptile houses and a few birds outside. Definitely will return on a sunnier day.

First time here. Smallest zoo we've ever been to but it's still a good place to bring the family and kids so they can enjoy learning and seeing the animals. There's still enough here to have a wonderful time out with the kids so there isn't any complaints about the zoo. All the animals looks like they were enjoying themselves also.
