We rented a cabin here for the weekend with the kids and had an amazing time. The staff were all very attentive and welcoming. The guided tour was informative, and we appreciated the guide frequently going off trail to make sure we had the most interactions with the various animals. The cabins were nice and we enjoyed the two pools and the private petting zoo for cabin guests. Waking up and seeing everything from zebra to bison roaming from your front porch is an incredible experience. This was our first time there but definitely won't be the last!

Loved this place. Would rate it a 10 star if I could. They had so many cool animals. Would 1000% recommend the guided tour. It cost the same, and you can get way closer to the animals. I liked the petting zoo aspect as well. You were able to get up close to many different types of animals. This is my pick for a family safari trip. They also have cabins inside of the property, which you can rent out. With the cabins you get 2 pools and a playground, along with there own premium petting zoo, and safari rides included. 100/10. Would greatly recommend.

We absolutely loved our trip here. Highly recommend the guided tour (no extra cost)...it allows you to be up close and personal with all the amazing animals. Their petting zoo is fantastic too! Children of all ages will enjoy this experience!! Becca was an awesome tour guide!!!

$54 for two adults and two feed bags for a self drive through and an extra $10 to feed the giraffe, Maverick, for two people! Worth every penny! I know it’s common sense but don’t bring your weekend driver here, with horns on your car may get a scrape but 100% worth it! The camels were so sweet and came through our sunroof and the momma bison with her baby were ones to mention. We had an absolute blast and definitely will return with kiddos! The giraffe, Maverick, was beautiful and so gentle. What a good boy! We did come at 10AM to beat the Texas heat (and for the animals to be cool and hungry) and it was the perfect timing! Definitely need to get food to feed the animals- 1bag/person is the perfect amount and generous enough to be able to feed all the animals you want!

Great adventure for the family. We stopped by on our way to Austin and we’re delighted with experience offered. During these time, they placed you in a caged trailer pulled by a tractor while the animals were roaming free, so neat. You also have the opportunity to purchase a bucket of food should you feel inclined to feed the animals. On a separate area you have the chance to touch/feed baby goats. Highly recommended!

We stopped here during our Spring Break trip and it was well worth it! Instead of driving thru with our car, we opted for the tractor ride. The staff was so incredibly knowledgeable and allowed us plenty of time to feed the animals! They also have a small petting area where you can pet baby goats, and deer. Check this place out, you will love it!

My son loves this places. The petting area and feeding the animals is what he loves the most. The next time you feel like taking a day trip to Johnson City I would recommend this place. If this is your first time pay a little extra and take the tour it’s worth it. We have stayed in our own car and drove through the zoo and it’s not the same. The tour on the tractor is way better. The only complaint I have is it’s a little run down. They charge $8 person for the petting area but I don’t think it’s worth it. This zoo also has a resort but we have not stayed there.

What an absolute blast, all the animals are super friendly. Beautiful place and the animals are super well cared for. Pro tip: don’t wash your car before you go and don’t wear you Sunday best 😂. Make sure to stop by the petting zoo as well which is included in your admission. It was super hot the day we were there so we were definitely happy we chose to take our own vehicle through to blast the AC.

A super positive place that is good for kids and parents. Tip: take a guided tour. It is the same price as on your car, but it is much more fun.

If you want to get up close and personal with the most extensive variety of animals in the area, this place will not let you down. You can opt to drive through the park on your own or hop in the open trailer and take the guided tour. We've only ever done the guided tour, and we love it. The guide is informative, answers questions, and gives tips on how to feed the animals. But the best part is the petting zoo. My kids could have camped in the pens with the animals. They loved being surrounded, even though the animals were only interested in them for their food.

Book slots if you drive through. Book slots and be on time if you take trailer tour which is awesome. Great place to pet wild exotic animals. Kids can adults can have a great time alike. Well maintained safari, healthy animals that roam free. With facilities to stay overnight they have cabins. Would recommend this safari anyone visiting Austin. B

Wow! What can I say, we loved it here. The animals are great the staff were fantastic Nicole is by far the best and most helpful. The cabin was super and to be able to feed the animals walking around in the cabin area was fun. We will be back and stay at the cabins again for sure.

My first time coming here with the kids! Great place to come and enjoy a picnic. I would recommend wearing tennis shoes, bring a bottle of water or snacks for the little ones. We did the guided tour which was awesome and full of information. We got to see baby goats, fawns and much more. Will be coming back and staying at the cabins this time!

We absolutely loved our visit!! We stayed at one of their cabins for the weekend. We did a guided tour and drove our vehicle through to feed the animals while we were there. Both were enjoyable! The animals come right up and eat right out of your hand! Not sure if the kids or adults had more fun! 🤔 my 3 year old talks about his visit daily and we can't wait to go back!! I highly recommend staying at the cabins. In the evenings a camel came up to the fence, and we were able to hand feed them. Such a cool experience.

We so enjoyed this place. We are seniors and other guests were families but we all had a terrific experience. We took the tractor tour with lovely Olivia as our guide. She educated us about the animals we saw. We had purchased buckets of food at the office and were able to hand feed so many different animals who would come running up to the tractor wagon. I fed camels, numerous deer and other animals, and my favorite, a sweet bison. I have tremendous respect for this place. The animals are cared for and loved. They even have cabins where to can stay. I really recommend a visit. It will make you happy!

What a fantastic experience! If you want to see and feed a variety of animals this is the place to go. Highly recommend doing the guided tour as your guide is highly knowledgeable about the variety of animals and they're eager to follow along as you travel through the ranch. This is for all ages! As we are "young at heart" and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Would do this again in a heartbeat. 😊

This place was great! We stayed in the cabins and the amenities there are nice. The pool was really nice and clean, park for the kids and the petting zoos are all really fun. Buy a lot of animal food at the gift shop because the animals are highly interactive and even better if staying at the cabins because you are able to go up to the fence and after the sun starts going down the animals get really active and come right up to you. Very Highly recommend scheduling the private tour it was well worth the money. The first night our cabins electricity went out but even after hours they were very accommodating and got it fixed quickly. We already can’t wait for our next visit!

Perfect place for kids. They have 2 options Drive thru and private tour, price for both the tour is same. But Highly recommend private tour as they take you off the road for the better and closer view to the animals. My daughter had so much fun feeding and patting animals. They do have a picnic area.

We went to this zoo/petting farm with our 3 grandkids (ages 6, 8, and 10). They all enjoyed it. The big open pen with the very calm, friendly goats was a big hit, especially the babies. The guided tour of the other pens with the other animals was also fun & interesting. (camels, zebras, buffalo, yaks, antelope, emus, ostriches and a few others I don't recall names)You can buy a bucket of food to feed the various animals all along the tour ride. The 2 older kids really enjoyed feeding them, the youngest one not so much. I think the animals were a little too close for comfort. I don't recommend going into the walk in pen where the deer are. They are way to aggressive/demanding in their expectation of food. They try to chew on anything they can get a hold of!

Yes Yes Yes! We absolutely loved it. It's up close, hands on, and a bit crazy. We drove our own vehicle through and I definitely have some dents from the bucks shaking their heads. One almost took off my mirror. At one point an ostrich was startled by another ostrich and they ran in to the side of my SUV. So PLEASE GO ITS AMAZING, BUT...don't take the nice car 🚗 lol Buy lots of animal food and don't feed the zebras!

Our Family had an amazing time! Weather was perfect. Staff were friendly, very attentive and happy to assist. My teenagers taught they were too old for the Zoo, but no way… they loved it as much as the little ones! We’ll be back to check out the new Cabins and Pool later in the Summer Time!

  • 4/5 Misty M. 4 months ago on Google
Loved the animals but strangely felt bullied by the guided tours. As soon as we pull up to feed camels the guides tour came up taking the animals & proceeded to tell us to keep moving they have right of way. She was very obnoxious. Not sure how all paying customers aren't valued here?????🐪

Spectacular safari! We toured the savanna’s in our Jeep and had the best time. We loved all the animals approaching us which provided a real up close and personal experience like none other. The grounds and facilities are beautiful the animal paddock are immaculate. Besides the safari we also fed the giraffes and visited the petting zoo. We will be back and stay in the cabins. As full-time RV’s we were wondering if they would ever consider becoming a Harvest Hosts, what a cool place!

Adding to the rave reviews with nothing but positive things to say. Admission is reasonable for the experience offered, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the animals seem very well cared for and there is an excellent balance between making sure the animals are happy and comfortable and guests get engaging and satisfying interactions with them. There are rules that make sense without unnecessary restrictions so you really get to be hands on with the animals as much as safely allowed. We went with my mom and my two kids (6 and 4) and every had an amazing time.

  • 5/5 Jared P. 4 months ago on Google
Amazing! Olivia was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They have a massive variety and amount of animals. My daughter couldn't get enough of feeding the larger animals from her hands. It's definitely worth the drive, and I would recommend it to all.

  • 5/5 Megan S. 2 years ago on Google
What a wonderful little gem. The animals really so get up close in a "hey! How are you? Do you have some treats" sort of way. The guided your was quite fun. Try it! It's worth the money.

This is a really nice drive through zoo. I brought my mom here earlier in the year. It was a nice little day trip and we both had a good time seeing and feeding the animals.

  • 5/5 John H. 6 months ago on Google
My wife and kids love this place. Riding on the tractor and feeding the animals by hand is a must. You get up close and personal with camels, elk, deer, bison, ostriches, and several others. It's very enjoyable and the goats and deer in the enclosed "petting" areas also allow for an up close and personal meeting.

Awesome place! Better than I was expecting. So many animals. Some ate right from your hands. We all loved it, 88 year old dad, and even a 16 year old.

Love the zoo, we rented one of the cabins, it was during the week, it was great, for a couple of day's we were the only ones, enjoyed the swimming pool, fed the animals, up close on the rides, and enjoy them from a far sitting on the porch, excellent experience!!

Had an incredible visit last weekend. The staff was friendly and informative. Loved seeing the animals in their natural habitat and being able to interact with them. Great for kids and adults alike!

  • 4/5 Woody P. 9 months ago on Google
It was a fantastic experience for our kids!! Alot of animals to see and feed. Highly recommend for driving around the zoo and the kids be able to feed the food out if vehicle. Staff was knowledgeable but not that friendly (may be the heat during the day). Many variety of animals to travel along with you throughout the ranch. However, it was abit pricey. Will come back to do this again

  • 5/5 Toula F. 9 months ago on Google
Amazing experience! These animals are well taken care of and are not afraid of people. Their habitat is clean and beautiful. I'm so happy we found this. Now, be warned... we think we caught a Zoonotic bug, but that is our fault for not properly cleaning our space afterward. Will definitely take friends and family there when they come to visit!

We just returned from a two night stay with our family of ten. The ages ranged from 5 years to 61 years and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Dottie’s Place (Cabin 6) and Cabin 7 were perfect for our large party. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The guided tours were our favorite. The hot afternoons were spent at the pool and evenings and early mornings were spent enjoying the animals. The grandkids loved talking to and feeding the animals through the fence surrounding the resort. This trip was our Christmas gift to our family and they are already asking for the same trip again next year. Thank you for an enjoyable experience.

we drove through the zoo ourselves but I would recommend doing their guided tour…a few horns hit our truck but didn’t do damage. we paid an extra $5 to feed the giraffe which was fun. the llamas and cows were hilarious.

I cannot say enough about the entire experience. Amazing staff, the animals are so well kept. The history is just awesome to learn, We were Blessed with Olivia as our guide and we just loved her too pieces. Definitely a must to support an amazing Texas business. This place is a true gem and they went above and beyond.

I wish I could give 10 stars! I absolutely love this place! Me and my family had so much fun. I think the price point is very fair for the up close and personal experience you get with the animals. The guided tour was so much fun and informative, our tour guide Becca was amazing! All the other staff were very nice and informative as well! You can tell the animals are so well cared for and the rest of the park was very clean and well maintained. If you are in the area please go, you will not regret it!!

We took our family from out of town to the Exotic Zoo in Johnson City. Very family oriented. All adults and kids had a great time. You can buy a bucket of food when you check in at the office. You have the choice of driving your own car or riding in their trailer. I recommend riding in their trailer pulled by a small tractor. The driver explains the different animals and makes sure you are able to see them (driving off the road to some of the animals). Zebras, buffalo, kangaroos, sheep, goats, and I can't remember the names to other exotics. It was fun!

  • 5/5 Tom B. 1 year ago on Google
Such a great family experience! Our 4 1/2 year old really enjoyed feeding the giraffe and wandering around the petting zoo enclosures while we waiting for the guided tour. The guided tour - a long trailer with plenty of room and bench seating pulled by a real farm tractor - was fascinating. The driver / tour guide was very engaging and informative the entire route. She stopped in every section and ensured everyone had an opportunity to feed the various animals. There were too many animals to list all but we recall the camels, zebras, elk, antelope, ostriches and water buffalo. The Exotic Resort section looks appealing. Nice cabins which we only saw driving by. The entire property is family owned and staffed. They all care, a lot, about the entire ranch and their animals. We could tell that our guide wasn’t just “doing her job”, she was living her passion. If I recall right, her name was Becca. We recommend The Exotic Resort and Zoo. It may even be a kiddo Bday destination party for us in the future. Go. Relax. Learn a bit. Enjoy the animals (some breeds are endangered and being preserved there). Have fun!

  • 5/5 Jessica M. 1 year ago on Google
10/10 experience! The animals are friendly and you have the option to take your own vehicle or have a guided tour for the same price. The large bucket of feed was more than enough for both the petting zoo and the tour with some left over.

  • 5/5 Texas B. 1 year ago on Google
Loved taking our 10 yr old to this guided tour. Tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and all the animals were on their best behavior. Will definitely come back before end of year. Tip: buy the large feed bucket as the tour takes about 45 minutes. Plenty of animals to give treats too.

  • 5/5 Jennifer N. 2 years ago on Google
Spent a lot of time in the shade with the goats in the morning before it started to get busy. The drive through was fun, definitely recommend the guided tour if you don't have a truck or SUV as the road isn't the greatest and has a lot of sips and hills.

  • 5/5 Monserrath V. 2 years ago on Google
Great place to go and the guided tours are really fun! If you have children I recommend taking them here because the guided tours gives them an opportunity to see, touch, and feed the animals. Also the tour guide, Gabby, was really sweet, funny, and energetic. I would definitely come here to have her as a guide again because she was awesome!

  • 5/5 Percy 2 years ago on Google
We loved this place. We were 4 adults with a 4 year old, a 7 and a 9 year old. The staff at this place were nice, friendly and very professional. The tractor tour guide was very engaging and knowledgeable about the animals. And of course the animals were amazing. We felt safe and well guided. We had a blast! It is a very much recommended short drive from Austin.
