This is one of the most underrated tourist sites in Ghana if you are a lover of art and history. The museum is creatively built with a curation of unique sculptures that tell the stories of Africa's past and the struggles of Black people. It takes an hour and a half to tour the various sites on the over 100 acres of land set aside for artistic display. Many more works are being commissioned at the museum. A dirt road leads to the site, so expect it to be muddy during the rainy season. There is a snack bar, rest area, and other amenities. It's a well planned tourist site in the bush.

This place is a heritage of stories! Deep connections and amazing setup for a cultural museum. For the lovers of history I would say this is the perfect place. It is an evolving museum by Ghanaian artist Kwame Akoto-Bamfo. The museum has a special section dedicated to African enslavement. and I'm in awe of their huge space that includes a studio, and an eatery at Kpateshie restaurant.. and options for camping whether as a visiting artist or an individual, yes you can take a history walk through and have a nap as well!! The museum installation makes up the entire place. Kwame himself is one of the best curators in art direction and it's a must to find yourself at Nuhalenya off Ada Foah where the museum is...he is patient with narration and is well informed on the history and African Heritage. The place is pretty symbolic to everything African and I loved my moments there and would definitely go back!!

THIS IS A MUST, especially for those who are returning from the diaspora to reconnect with their ancestors. It blew me away. Stunning art and innovative installation. The tour brought tears to my eyes. So much effort was made to pay respect and focus on the poignancy and privilege of visiting. We laughed, we cried, we learned, we healed. Definitely go here! One day I will build a nearby cafe and healing center for after you leave because you're going to need a minute.

I was intrigued there was a gem like this hidden away from me. Visiting Nyinkyim had been on my wait list since i heard of it. The various scupltures and the stories and history behind them is enlightening. The sculptures and natural ambience left a picture of this place in my mind, a mystique, green and beautiful one. My personal love for sculpture will always have me always going back. I feel like there's more to come with Nyinkyim. I think i should pick up my sculpting again, hahaa!

Breathtaking, great initiative, a must visit tourist attraction place to feel and empathise with our fore fathers who went through that ordeal. Well Done to Kwame Akoto Bamfo

What a beautiful experience! The folks who work here are top notch! This space has beautiful and thoughtful art and incorporates history into the space! The space to honor the slaves is breath taking and a somber reminder of the pain and suffering of those who were taken from their homes. Finally, the experience near the end (I won't spoil it) wraps up the tour in a beautiful way. Everyone should visit!

one of the favourite places I've visited this year. Not too far from Accra (less than 2hrs drive). Beautiful historic monuments to appreciate.

This is a unique, way of paying homage to the Ancestors who've brought us this far, and because of them we go forward with confidence, strength, gratitude, persistence and bravery. United in determination to fight the good fight and bring our race to the status from which we originated honorably and completely.

Great art and history. However when I got there. They were doing some few renovations so I wasn’t allow to take pix at certain places. Meanwhile I was charge full cost so I suggest that whenever they’re renovating, they shud just close the place . Every visitor goes there to learn history and also take some memories along in the form of pictures and videos.

This museum is extremely well thought-out. I was impressed with how every item on site was there for a purpose. The guide who took us around, who was an artist as well was extremely knowledgeable and an amazing story teller. It's impressive the amount of land they have and what they plan to do with it. Strongly recommend it!

The art that was displayed can't be explained in words. The art and its depiction of what our ancestors went through was breathtaking. 💚🇬🇭

The website is misleading; Free entry but mandatory 100 cedi tour, otherwise you're only allowed in the parking lot. The tour itself was a bit monotonous, very practiced. The artworks are amazing, very powerful though also very much a work in progress. The entire area is not very coherent and there was no room at all to move around except for the tour. You get 2 minutes here, 2 minutes there and in the end you are supposed to ring a bell declaring that you will tell people about the place. The towns around are also very sketchy often charging 2x or more than what its supposed to cost if you're an outsider, and because the museum is so far away you will be dependent on those things to get there. All in all I'm glad that I went though discovering on arrival that the large "Admission is Free to All" was basically a lie and then only being able to do a strict tour (no audio or video recordings, total maybe 60-80 minutes, then leave) did frustrate me a bit and made it feel very money driven and desperate for foreign tourists.

Must see location for anyone visiting Ghana. Powerful art displays. More works are created regularly.

A surreal experience. The artists are very knowledgeable about art and its various forms. For a rude awakening of the African self, I recommend this place.

This place is as much a spiritual retreat as a museum. The memorial to the enslaved people of Ghana is one of the most powerful things I’ve ever seen.

Road leading to the place isn't so good. Also remember to call and book before going, else you will likely not get a tour guide.

Road gets bad when it rains but the place itself, gives you this special connection to the past and ancestors

This place is incredible. The amount of effort put into the project is insane. And this is still under construction. I’m just wondering what it’ll look like when it’s done. The road to the museum tho 🫣
