Very peaceful place. It brings you closer to nature. You need some repellent. Thé waterfall is more beautiful during the rainy season. The place is less busy on week days. Indeed it’s very therapeutic

Asenema Waterfall can be found within a mini forest which is also a habitat for butterflies, flowers, insects, squirrels and other animals in the forests. The place has a cool and soothing natural environment. It's a good location for people wanting to engage in Primal Therapy as well. For your music videos ,movies and photoshoots.

ASENEMA WATERFALLS ======= Asenema Waterfalls is a stunning sight to behold. It measures about 25 meters high. It is a serene place to clear your head, admire nature's beauty and appreciate the creation of God. ======= BRIEF HISTORY: Founded many years ago by hunters and farmers, who discovered the stream and used it as a source of water supply during work. It was in the early 2000s that the waterfall was discovered. Not until 2018,it was not commercialised due to the believe of the people. Females are not allowed there in the menses because it is believed to be dirty to the Spirit of the water. Nonetheless, before commercialising it, a ceremony was organised to appease the Spirit of the water which allowed females to visit and enter the water irrespective of the time of the month for them. Aweh is the name of the water, from Adukrom and the source of water is from the rocks. It is joined by a stream at a point. The water is said to be a male and a female with the female dominating, it is mixed in a pond from then source but when pouring then the split with the male being small and the female being the big one. ======= ENTRANCE FEE: Ghc 10.00 ======= LOCATION & HOW TO GET THERE : Asenema Waterfalls is situated in the Eastern Region of Ghana, located in the Okere district. You don't really need to own or rent a car to get there, with public transport you can get there and it's pocket friendly. From Madina pick Adukrom bus (Ghc 15.50p), alight at the last stop (Station), get a taxi heading to Asenema (if in a group the taxi driver would take you there to the entrance no need to alight and walk to the entrance) Ghc 8.00 per head It's same back just stand by the road and get a taxi or trotro heading to Adukrom then catch a bus to Madina. ====== Activities you can engage in ~ Hiking Call ahead so that the necessary arrangements be made before your day of arrival. Fee: You pay Ghc10 each to the tour guide who will take you on the hike. The hike is usually allowed to the Mini/lower/small fall not the higher falls. ~ Swimming ~ Volleyball (court available) ~ Recommended games: Ludu, Oware, chess, Dominoes, and cards NB: you can go with your preferred games (Oware and Ludu are made available to you on request) Go with Bluetooth speaker too so you can have music to dance. ====== SOMETHING TO EAT? I'd recommend you go with some snacks, savouries or little chops. Food is not sold there, so it's better to go with some water and drinks. ====== Suggestion: The changing room and it's bridge needs renovation, it can fall at any time.

Asenema is small but very high waterfall in Eastern Region. It's probably much bigger during the rainy season. The stream crashes down a sheer cliff in a quiet and cool forest. The small forest is like a butterfly haven. I had a great time doing macro photography. There is a lot of litter. The managers would do well to provide bins and also repair and maintain the huts and benches.

Loved it here Entrance fee I believe was 10ghc, the cheapest I have come across when it comes to waterfalls Beautiful and peaceful! Saw lovely butterflies on the short walk to the waterfall. The guides there are awesome and seem to really enjoy their work. There are local games (ludo and oware) to play There are sitting areas with benches close to the waterfall It isn’t really a place you should swim but you can definitely play in the water

Well the long drive was all too worth it..The serene atmosphere plus the landscape..The water was not too deep so we could afford to swim out..And the walk to the place was not as tiring as Chenku..And the water was cooler but its in the mountains so we wre expecting nothing less...Oh let me say, it was very affordable too..10cedis adult, 5cedis child..You surely need to add this place to your bucket list if you love nature 😀

It's a 1hr and 18 minutes drive from UPSA to the location. The road wasn't bad, though it requires a lot of patience due to so many curves on the road. The entrance fee was 10 cedis and the walk from the entrance to the waterfall was less than 4 minutes on a normal strolling walk. The waterfall was about 15 meters tall and it was fascinating to watch. The attendant said the place could get full and flooded during the rainy season. The place is yet to be fully explored to truly appreciate its beauty. It's a location to visit for photoshoots or leisure.

It's a new discovered Waterfall, which has a great potential to become famous if investors pay attention to it. However, it's a wonderful place to experience

A very beautiful waterfall.Found how it falls and it's height intriguing🤩...Water beneath is relatively cleaner and clearer than at other waterfalls.I suppose it's due to not so high numbers at the time of visit. I enjoyed the walk to the falls as well.Environment is beautiful and just perfect for destressing.

The walk to the falls is very short; about 400 metres. You can hike to the apex of the falls. The climb is very sharp and slippery and can be dangerous so you would have to ensure you are in a hiking boot. There is an alternative route to hike through the Bush to the street back to the falls if you would want to hike a little. There are catfish at the base of the falls; both small and bigger ones. The washrooms have not been constructed yet and the shed there is very old and weak and has the tendency of collapsing soon. There is the volley ball court and there are sitting areas for say 40 people. Camping can be done at the site though although there are no washroom facilities.

A bit out of the way. 5 minute walk from the parking spot. 10 cedis per person. Bring a sack lunch and some swim gear. Would stop there again if we were in that area.

The waterfall is truly amazing to behold ….. the signage which directs you to the entrance of the site is broken for some reason and at the time I was there it was still not fixed. They do need to invest more into the place for it is a very beautiful tourist site.

This place is beautiful and I will love to visit anytime But they need to do more work around it especially the center They should collect all the sand n the stones to make it deeper for us to swim

Easy drive access from Adukrom Akwapim . The main problem is the lack of signage at the entrance to alert you to stop so use google map or ask the locals for the location . Park and take a simple 10mins walk max on a good path that meets the beautiful falls . No washroom facilities around so be mindful and drop by any day for the several gas stations on the way for your comfort . Entrance fee is about a dollar .

Beautiful and serene waterfalls. Getting there can be a bit of a hassle though but you can get public transport in and out. The best would be to have your own car. I really enjoyed my time there.

Amazing waterfall! The water was very cool and refreshing as I visited on January 1st. The local people gave some advice about getting in/out and we’re very pleasant. I would definitely recommend if you’re going to be in Ghana. The 4 hour drive from Accra was well worth the views.

Went there with friends, really a natural treat for eyes, we came from accra, falls is very near after we cross aburi. But the board sign is not in the roadside, which makes many people, not knowing this place, if they use maps, it is easy to reach there. Very enjoyable and ideal for bath. Must visit for those who staying in Ghana.
