Dalieh is among the very last areas in Beirut that were (almost) left with their natural beauty. Activists tore down the fence a few years ago, regaining the public access to the rocky hill that goes down to the sea. It's a beautiful area, especially in Spring. The views of Raouche rock and the coastal cliffs are breathtaking.

I'm giving this 5 star based on the natural beauty and the colours of the ocean and the rock. It is really gorgeous and a beautiful place in a big city. BUT - the garbage is overwhelming. It is such a shame... just trash everywhere and still has barbed wire in certain areas all along the road. Sad.

The iconic towering rock formation surrounded by sea is a good place to visit when you are in Beirut. Both sunrise and sunsets are an amazing time to visit for taking photos. When you pass Bay Rock – café or Petit-Café restaurant on your right and walk for 2 minutes with the sea on your right you will see an opening that goes down (El Delie – Rouche), there will be a number of people offering you a boat ride. You can take a boat ride as you please, we did take, it cost us $20 for 3 people but it was such a quick one that it hardly stopped for pictures. Maybe pay a bit more and then you can take more photos. Agree on a time whilst you are negotiating a rate. So, you walk down the El Delie – Rouche towards where it ends and there you can take some photos. There will be plenty of people swimming in the somewhat dirty sea-water. The place isn’t as clean as a tourist spot should be. Plus that was the only place throughout Lebanon where we felt we got mosquito bites. If you are not too keen on walking down, the view is slightly less amazing from atop of the road. Alternatively, you can go to one of the cafes for amazing views, but check for the prices for whatever is brought onto your table, including peanuts, other nuts and eatables and water. You will be charged heftily if you don’t pay attention. We went to see Raouche Rocks twice, once it was too hot so we went back to the hotel, as we couldn’t walk down, we were tired from spending most of the day in Central Beirut. The next time we came just before sun-set so it was slightly less warm, plus we weren’t as tired. So decide what you want to do and then plan accordingly. TLDR: An iconic spot in Beirut, where you must take a photo.
